Only pop in every now and then for a coffee and a light bite but has become our go to place when visiting Tynemouth. Lovely hotel, friendly and helpful staff in elegant surroundings and with lovely views out to sea. Can't wait for our next visit

Great bar/restaurant by the Tyne. Food was excellent :)

The young lad behind the bar is an absolute credit to your establishment. You could tell he was on his own today due to staff but he handled it amazingly. Thank you!

Excellent our food came really quickly and our server was very nice and determined to help us get our food for us. Portion sizes were fantastic

The staff were really nice, friendly and polite. Unfortunitly the flat white was tepid (in both temperature and excitement) whilst the Pastel de Nata was too cold and at the end of it's shelf life. It's a shame, from the reviews I was expecting better!

Bad attention, little desire to serve, greet and smile at the public

Came for breakfast 2,days in a row while staying in Tynemouth. It was the best place for breakfast that we could find. Lovely menu, lovely food and friendly service !

We booked a Sunday lunch yesterday and the venue and the food were good. However the service we received really let the whole experience down. After taking our order we waited an hour for food. No one checked and no one came to see if we needed another drink. We did try and grab the attention of the waiting staff after a while but struggled. When the table next to us who had ordered 30 mins after us got their food we did manage to grab the attention of one of the waitresses it turns out something had gone wrong with our order. We didn’t really get an apology just that they knew it was a problem before we pointed it out and the food was now getting prepared. As I said above the food was good when we got it. They then cleared our plates and about 15 minutes later I managed to get the attention of a waitress to ask if we could order dessert and I was told no as the kitchen was now closed. After I pointed out the delay wasn’t our fault the manager came over and took our dessert order. We were then quite perplexed when dessert orders for other tables around us all came out when the kitchen was closed. I did ask for the bill and that I have to say is the only thing that came quickly and in-fact they came with the card machine for us to pay mid dessert. So overall what should have been a good experience was massively let down by the service we received. Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be back.

Awful dry chips and charged 50pence for ketchup ! Fish was lovely, when I complained , I was offered more chips but they were all the same This cafe used to be busy but now virtually empty Such a disappointment

Nice relaxed atmosphere Lovely pint of Somersby blackcurrant cider, served by a lovely friendly barmaid jamie and also Dylan was friendly and helpful Very nice polite staff and a very nice pint Love the views Definitely be back Thank yous

Good cafe, and public conveniences, in a beautiful local park.

This is now the greenhouse and I’ve submitted this review there too. Terrible fish and chips - small, flat fish with horrible batter and hard chips. And it was expensive - so definitely not value for money. Service was also slow.

Don’t know what has happen we have had Tea and cakes here before and it has been enjoyable with comfortable seating outside, But now the outside table are dirty and broken in places, the ground needs a good clean, The toilets are a disgrace broken floor tiles with a feeble attempt to glue them together, broken toilet seat and broken taps on the sink,. But what put me off completely was the flies on the cakes, yes the cakes are in cases put the backs are open, there was no one in and I’m really not surprised, but ice creams seem to be popular with walk-ins Sorry to say we Definitely will not be back

Had a couple of pizza and one beer and one zero alcohol beer. Bill came to £35 which I thought was expensive as the drinks were £12.50. Pizza were average but the service food. Too expensive for me so won’t be rushing back.
