Awful service from the woman server with red hair. Too busy chatting with each other to listen to customers. Avoid at all costs.

I have ordered pistachio and salted caramel Frappe. It didn’t taste or look as Frappe at all, just mixed coffee and milk. I asked a friend to taste it, just to check and she had same comments. I tried not to make a scene, and spoke to the barista on the side about the taste. They answered with I made it as it is in the recipe. In other words, that’s what we can offer here. I didn’t like the experience, I would say I won’t be coming here anymore. I paid 12 euros for this (one for me and one for my friend).

Coffee! Not bad.But I think they hate thier job! I used to came here. Not anymore Plus the senior lady staff no commonsense and hash.mostly sour face staff. Only the young and new staff look pleasant. She should be take long break from work!

Went in for a coffee break with my daughter, cafe half full of customers, at least 5 tables full of dirty ware. We were there 30 minutes, no body was clearing the tables, 3 staff behind counter talking. Sign on main counter saying, “Do not leave trays of dirty ware on the counter”. To me this is saying clean up your table yourself. I moved tables (which I had to clear & clean down myself) as it was an uneven table leg so dangerous with hot drinks, but the main reason I moved was there was a table length of dried froth/milk stuck to the table divider which was quiet hard & I would say was there for a few days. Did not tell my daughter as I wanted her to eat & drink in peace. My daughter ordered a cheesecake which was not edible & ordered an iced latte which was a full glass of milk, little ice & coffee, again not nice. Sorry to say I have been going there since if opened but today was my final day as it was not a clean & not an enjoyable experience. €18.00 for 2 coffees, fruit & a half slice of cake, way too expensive.

Could do with a good clean and face lift, table I was at was falling apart chairs very worn and grubby. Staff were lovely and helpful. Coffee was excellent.

Nice enough cafe. Not enough staff to keep it clean. The furniture is falling apart. Management needs to make a better effort.

It is what you’d expect for a chain coffee place. Good to bring a book/laptop and have a coffee or snack. It is very cold though due to the air conditioning so good to wrap up warm as you will feel the cold after 10minutes or so.

Lovely spot to do a bit of work, wifi isn't great so wouldn't recommend doing any conference calls.

Every time I come here, I feel as if I've just burdened the staff by my existence alone. They always seem genuinely annoyed that anybody wants to order something. Very anxiety inducing to go up to them. It's happened a few times that everyone waiting in line is making faces at each other as we all just watch the staff chat and giggle behind the counter and completely ignore us. The coffee is nice and the atmosphere is good, its always very busy so it's often hard to find a seat. Harder again to find a clean one. The food is lovely.

I love the strong taste of their latte, not light compare to other coffee shops. Nice sitting area, very relaxing ambient. Highly recommend!

Nero is the earliest opening café in Cork. Very friendly staff, reasonable prices, good range of pastries, plenty of seating and a clean toilet.

This is a nice coffee shop you have a coffee and/or snack in Cork City. Located right in the heart of Cork City you can have a coffee here. The prices are average and choice ls of food is basic. They do have nice treats with coffee to offer. You can also avail of student discount if you register within their app and link it to student email. They also have plug in points if you wish to catch up on work without your devices and have free WiFi.

The service was awful, we sat in dirty chairs and our table didn't get cleaned by anyone. It was sticky and dirty. When we ordered we had to wait 10 minutes for two coffees. We asked for whipped cream on top and of course paid extra for it but didn't get it. No one brought us our drinks and we had to go and get them ourselves, which would be okay if someone told us to do so. But we had no idea until we went up there and asked about our drinks. The atmosphere was alright, there was music and the place is quite cute, but it wasn't very clean. Overall, based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this café to anyone.

A lovely cafe for meeting people or relaxing alone. The coffee is good and the little chocolates at the till are lovely. Staff are polite.

Its a good place to catch a coffee when you're on the run, service is fast and you don't need to wait too long or in line, they have the best Chai Latte and their milkshakes are refreshing, so have a look and enjoy yourself a cup of nice freshly ground coffee ☕👌

The service is poor, the barista never made a latte art but purely whipped milk poured over the coffee, looks like never been into training. I ordered cappuccino, which I can hardly say was a cappuccino and not a separate americano with foam

Foods great atmosphere of the cafe is great customer service very very rude. Was served by a young girl who seemed to be under pressure on her own she was very rude would have left only for I was meeting someone there.

The service is so slow, maybe cause I am originally from Italy, I am used to seeing caffè, cappuccino, marocchino, cream coffee and so on literally "flying" around like Drones in a Bar located in any place of Italy - No idea why it is so so slow the preparation of Coffee even when there are just 2_3 people queueing... Maybe it is just abroad, but as you are claiming to be Italian I have to be honest on this review. As well tables are a bit messy and never ready and cleaned properly - Queuing is so ancient as well, If you keep doing so just change the name, Nero is 1 million km away from being an Italian Bar. But the environment is cosy and relaxing. Cheers.

Food lovely as expected, café grand and warm. Service was absolutely deplorable.

Visited with my kids for a quick bit of juice and a bun. Food is the same as any other branch but the staff seemed genuinely perplexed that we wanted to order and ignored us while we stood waiting. Would not recommend.

Baristas named Elita and Ava were very helpful and explained all the menu items! Best baristas in town.

Met a friend for coffee. Great meeting place

The girl behind the counter noticed I was there after 3 min. I arrived at 6:30 pm , they close at 8 pm and the oven was already turned off!!. This happened today 13th of December. I have been there in the past and I remember also that I wanted to know the ingredients of a cookie and nobody from the staff could answer my question. Horrible experience, horrible staff.

€4.50 for a flat white is crazy. The place is dirty a lot of the time with stuff left on tables. Some of the seating is quite tatty too- needs an upgrade. Staff aren’t the nicest. Plus the click and collect- they wait for you to come in and say you’ve ordered something before they start making it which seems strange.

I see I’m not the first to review with this same comment, so it seems like a consistent problem, but we came to get a coffee and hot chocolate for our kids because it opened at 7am (1 hour before anything else) and our jet lagged children had us up super early so we were killing time. The drinks we got were fine, but there was only one person working, who was making pastries, coffees, opening up the store etc. One person can’t possibly do everything and she couldn’t get to the door to open till closer to 7:15 so we literally sat outside in the cold waiting, and even then she was unable to take our orders for another 15 minutes because she kept having to go to the back for baking. She was nice but (understandably) overwhelmed. They either need to update their hours or get more help for the morning.

Worst customer service. Girl with pink hair and her colleague, they literally made faces and threw bad attitude when we asked to clean the table. Worst experience 0 stars for hospitality.

I have been here a few times but when i visited today the staff was extremely rude. The two girls at the counter had a harsh tone and acted out when we asked them to help us clean out the table we wanted to sit in. I wouldn't be coming in here again. The place is great and the food is great as well. But the staff needs to work on their behaviour.

It s a cozy place to have a coffee and some good snacks. We had a coffee there ,however I asked for coffee without milk, I got coffee with milk. Pistachio cake is too good! Must try. Overall its a fine place to dine in and take out.

I asked for a warm panini. The service lady took it out from plastic with bare hand onto the tray, once heated up while moving the panini from the tray to the plate all ingredients started falling out from the roll and she used again her bare hand to pick them up and put them inside of my panini. First using bare hand to serve food is disgusting I don’t know what she was doing with it before. Second she made complete mess out of simple panini. I said I just pay for coffee I don’t want panini anymore because she was touching it and didn’t use gloves and she started lying she didn’t do it, even though I saw what she was doing .This cafe for many years was the best cafe in town, now I might come back in 5 years if it’s still there to check if it improved…

€6 for the most horrible coffees. Frappuciono made by a ‘trainee’ barrista was half full and basically just coffee gone cold. Chai latte made by a ‘pro’ barrista was basically frothed milk with cinnamon on top 🤮

We stopped in at Caffe Nero because it opens earlier than anywhere else in town, and we wanted to get coffee and breakfast before leaving town. They were about 10 minutes late opening because there was only a single employee trying to open the cafe (including starting to brew coffee and baking pastries). Everything took a lot longer than we were expecting/hoping because of the understaffing (to no fault of the associate there trying her best). The lattes we ordered were fine, but some of the pre-made food options were interesting. One sandwich we grabbed was essentially just a slice of ham and butter on a massive roll. I'd be willing to give it another shot if we end up in Cork in the future, but if they plan to open earlier than everyone else, they should have a couple staff members helping with opening.

I took a very good soya cappuccino here. Price is not the cheapest one, but its soya so i could expect. However , staff was nice and place good for relaxing during a cold winter afternoon. Position is excellent, very central.

What's with the rude staff?! Do they not realise its the customers that keep them in a job! Place not very clean either, toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months.

Coffee not the best but its not bad. Problem with the place is the rude staff. Young guy, short black hair with a small tattoo on his neck in particular, quite a rude little clown and its not the first time either I've experienced this, needs an attitude adjustment If I were the owner and hearing how he treats customers, he'd be out the door in a flash.

We really had two very good coffees. Unfortunately, the staff is not that friendly and overall the bar and coffee machine looks very dirty and not very cared for. Drinking coffee like this is no fun!

It's hard at the moment to give a true assessment whilst still under restrictions so we are limited on our judgements. This is the first place restaurant or cafe where I was asked for identification as well as the vaccine pass and telephone number. The barrister was friendly and carried what I ordered to the table and asked would I like water as well which she duly brought. The place was very clean and it was a nice experience

Café espectacular y los dulces también. Si te gusta buen café ( difícil de encontrar en Irlanda) en este sitio merece la pena tomar uno. Además es muy bonito y está en el centro de la ciudad. Medidas Covid19 excelentes.

Friendly staff and great coffee!

Hi was in the queue today getting take away when a customer called a lady raising a point "psycho" trying to put down a lady who made a request to staff member. The lady handled situation well and calmly but the staff member instead of listening dismissed the lady's request. The lady was completely in the right. I was appalled and shocked at how the staff member behaved towards this lady and how a subsequent customer became involved shouting abusive names at the lady. The lady was spot on legally with her gdpr information and Cafe Nrro need to train their staff to treat their customers with decorum. This was horrendous. Won't drink here again

I visit this very friendly establishment regularly and was actually in the queue when that "lady" Lucy Linehan's review mentioned below made a huge scene. The staff were simply doing what they were meant to and following guidelines and handled it very professionally. "the lady" was completely out of line and doesn't seem to have any real grasp of the GDPR she referenced so heavily. The staff should be given medals for having to put up with people like that loon!

Gran sitio para tomar un café, ambiente tranquilo y leer un libro, pase mucho tiempo allí después del trabajo. Lo recomiendo. Great place to have a coffee and read a book!!
