My partner and I came to Tynemouth for an afternoon out and came across Woods. We both got take-out coffees which were excellent; the Chai Latte I had was perfect. The cups were decomposable too which was nice to see, the staff were friendly, the location is ideal, right next to the beach, and there was outdoor seating too. The only thing which did annoy me was there was a surcharge of 40p for all the plant-milks. I can't stand when places do this. Whether it be an allergy or a preference for plant milks I don't see why you should pay extra for these. Plant-milks are better for the environment and of course, reduce animal suffering from dairy farms, so it's shame that at times you have to pay extra to care. If this 40p charge was abolished then I'd change my review to 5 stars as everything else was top notch.

Came here after having visiting my Uncle with my Mum at North Shields. I ordered from the window. I ordered two Ham and Cheese Croque Monsieurs and two Cappuccinos. The guy at the window wore PPE and a mask which was very safe and it made me feel safe and more comfortable. I paid him and went to the next window to collect my order. The girl gave me the order after 5 minutes and she was wearing a mask too. So I felt very safe there. I brought our order to the car and ate the food at a nice place nearby. The food and the coffees were very nice. I would recommend getting the Ham and Cheese Monsieur and Cappuccinos here.

Mr Woods is a busy coffee shop in Tynemouth which is currently operating as a takeaway only due to Covid-19. In line with government advice they have been operating card payments only since February/March (several notices in the windows advise this). It's good to see a business taking customer and staff safety seriously. The staff at Mr Woods are lovely and always try to ensure the customers needs are met.Looking forward to the shop re-opening when things return to normal.Stay safe and carry on.

This is a large coffee shop with outdoor seating. It was very busy when we arrived and you have to queue up at a very small counter where only 1 person can prepare the drinks. There were plenty of staff and maybe would be better if orders were taken at tables so customers can sit and wait instead of standing. We only had coffee on this occasion and it was as expected but the wait to be served was too long in my opinion.

As a family we love visiting Tynemouth and have been doing so for a lot of years and it’s great that it’s a thriving, popular place to be .... we always stop for coffee and a snack in different places and I have to say although Mister Woods is good I always find the place annoying, 15 minutes in the que for a hot/ cold beverage is long but watching the staff fumble their way through is painful...... I asked for ice (2 nurses were there and said that's what we should do) just got a tiny bucket of water and a paper roll. The manager or anyone did not come to offer help, an ambulance or anything. I visited this cafe after searching Trip Advisor. In a great position and view of the Priory a perfect addition to our Sunday outing. The sun was shining so we chose a seat outside, but I found the inside smelled a bit too fatty from cooking for my liking so that’s probably my only con for the cafe. The pros were plenty. Good gluten free selection, smooth wonderful coffee, alternative milks that were not all soya based (cafe tip get coconut milk without soya in it, it’s upsetiing to a lot of people), but oat milk was good, but not so much for GF people. Massive queue so a bit of a long wait but staff seemed pleasant. Worth it for the coffee and view. I never got to try the food.

Hazelnut Latte was spot on - often comes far too sweet but perfect here. Fresh & moist blueberry muffin too.

My friend and I visited with our two young babies during the week over lunch. We were lucky to find a table as it was very busy during half term. Great views of the sea.Food was ordered okay. The first cup offered for tea was dirty but they changed it no problems. We just toasties and hot drinks - both served quickly. The waitress also warmed up the baby food in the microwave for us. She did forget to get it out but she was apologetic and got it quickly Would definitely visit again

I went today to get a smoothie with my brother. It was a good smoothie no doubt about it but they didn't ask if I wanted it to take out or stay on and I was left sitting inside with a glass jar , drinking it quickly because I wanted to go home. I just think they could put them in a plastic cup like they do for the take out ones or just ask. This isn't really a complaint more of a suggestion. However, just to clarify, the food and drinks are expensive but they are goooood.

Plenty of coffee houses to choose from, as it was a glorious sunny day Woods is on the sunny side on the corner so plenty going on. We ordered iced cappuccino's and couldn't fault them, enjoyed a very pleasant hour watching the coming and goings on a sunny Bank Holiday weekend.
