Costa Coffee in North Tyneside

Avoid this place at all costs and give your money to an independent coffee chain instead. Disgusting and the staff are abysmal. Management worse after the stories you hear about them and the way they treat their staff.

I pop into here every so often, not too much as the manager/s have a serious attitude problem, the other staff really are lovley and are willing to help at any opportunity, but last time I visited I overheard some staff members talking about management stealing their tips? Surely, that isn't a joke and a serious allegation, as I can imagine a lot of people tip the nicer staff in the building? I think I'll just pass on visiting here again, I've spent enough money here without knowing that the tips I willingly give are just going to the management who probably earn 3x as much as other staff. No thanks 🤢

I walked in at 8.30 in the morning. I asked for an oat milk latte. There was only 1 order in which was mine and a customer behind me. As English isn’t my first language I struggled to understand her saying “did you order an oat milk latte?” In her common Geordie accent. When I was confused by what she ask me she then screamed it at me in a slow and extremely patronising way in front of the other customers. I’m not sure why she works as a barista as this is clearly the wrong profession for her. I always drink at costa but not this one again! Absolutely terrible. Not at all what you’d expect from a relaxed coffee chain.

I ordered online via the Uber eats app and stated that my friend had a serious dairy intolerance. We asked for the mint choc chip frostino with no cream, soya milk and none of the chocolate sauce as that too, contains milk. The drinks arrive and the mint choc chip frostino is full of chocolate sauce. I tried a sip and all I could taste was the chocolate sauce over the normally strong mint flavour. We think that there was a confusion at the premises when making the drinks and got mistaken for extra chocolate sauce. The drinks are already expensive. But for almost 5 pounds, the drinks went in the bin as it would have made her seriously ill. I have contacted both Uber eats and Costa and been ignored over what could have been a serious allergic reaction. I tried ringing the store multiple times before the order got sent out to double check the allergy issues could be rectified, the phone rang and nobody answered. Also, the cappuccinos we get from that particular Costa are always burnt or over syrupy as well as somehow not knowing what a cappuccino is. There is never any foam on the top of the coffees we order online. We only live about a mile away from the Costa and with working from home i can’t leave my desk, so we order online. Surely a little trip down the road with coffees shouldn’t mean the foam Is not existing when it arrives. Don’t waste your money and instead go to paradise cafe in the forum as they’re an independent business and not a money hungry chain. They do lovely coffees and are allergy friendly!!

Costa coffee is very good. The coffee is always good and the food is pretty good too, slightly expensive but a nice treat now and then

Greeted by staff member on entry who was very helpful and served quickly by efficient counter staff. They are always polite and accommodating. Wish we could say the same about their Royal Quays shop.

I was on my way to the doctor's and wasn't sure how long I would be and was hungry so popped in for toastie and coffee my favourite Costa combo. It was 5.38 when I asked for a toastie which were still on display to be told the toaster is off. I politely said but you don't close until 6.30. the young girl said again well it's now switched off shrugged and walked off. I left and went to subway. I love Costa and I'm very disappointed with the service. I will stick to silverlink in future as staff are nicer and they don't switch everything off too early.

The staff here are so friendly and make you feel comfortable, I like how it is usually quiet when I visit as I like to relax when enjoying my fave beverages rather than busy background noise.

My fiancee and I called into Costa for a coffee. We were greeted with a warm welcome initially. My fiancee asked for a drink which turned up to be symbolic with Starbucks (unknown to us). The girl serving us took offence to this and put our gingerbread man in the cup upside down. I could not believe what I was witnessing. 10 out of 10 for her loyalty towards Costa but unfortunately 0 out of 10 for the respect shown to the gingerbread man.

I've been there a couple of times as close to home and a place to visit friends...the coffee varies time to time but overall good,the members of staff are nice and patient,very polite dare to say but the manager she's rude,she hurries ppl up,she gets the wrong order and than says the costumer"well thats what you order"...i would definitely go back for the coffee but will try and avoid as much as possible if the manager is"over the counter"

I’ve been a few times now as love a good costa coffee. Staff are friendly, coffee is good. Only complaint is that the tables are not cleared quick enough and often not cleaned proper so can be a bit sticky..

This is a regular meeting place for my family. Accessible with a wheelchair. Decent range of food. Great coffee. Nice environment. Service is usually friendly.

Lovely atmosphere and staff always remember you and ask how you are doing. Those who've worked there a while remember your order. They carry trays for those who may have some difficulty. I am a seasoned Costa customer and can say the Wallsend Costa has best service.

Coffee is lovely staff are lovely food is amazing wood definitely recommended to people always serve what you ask and how you like it

went there had a cheese and ham toastie the bread was cheep the square ham was the cheapest and i think there were traces of cheese Myn first and last visit

Not sure how people can complain about the service or staff as I find Katey and all her team brilliant, It’s a very busy shop and they always say hi every time ive gone in there since August 2017, It’s always clean n tidy, the staff do a great job along with great lattes, love going here after a long night shift to have a large latte and sit down before heading home to bed :)

My first visit to this Costa Coffee shop in Wallsend, Loved the Flat White coffee and Blueberry muffin, but the service was shocking. I know everybody has that early morning blues, but when you are working and dealing with the general public on daily bases you have to put on a smile and offer a good service. The girl who served me this morning really looked like she didn’t want to be there and didn’t offer any pleasantries. It won’t stop me from returning to Costa, but maybe not this branch.

My first visit to Costa Wallsend, i wasn't impressed. I wasn't aware you had to have a key for the toilets, someone must of been in one toilet and then i walked into the other, when i came to leave, the door to the cafe was locked and i couldn't get out. Not a pleasant experience and very worrying, it's a serious fire risk and i won't be going back. This needs to be sorted out immediately. The staff member came and got me out but her attitude was awful and as if it was my fault, not good Costa.

Coffee is always great, nice place to go to and know what quality you'll receive, staff are always nice and friendly, food always taste great and fresh, seating is always comfortable. Overall great place and not to expensive

A quick visit to have a sit down and americano my grandaughter loves her baby capochino and pink ice bun most every time we go shopping the staff are very welcoming and always make sure the tables are clear for the next customers well worth a visit

We visit here most weeks and it is always fab.

Nice staff but overpriced. Really breastfeeding friendly if you're a mum it's nice to know there's somewhere easy to get too to have a cuppa and catch up.

One of the better Costa's that I have been and handy when on shopping in wallsend high street. Great spot for people watching and a big enough place to always find a place to sit. Not as busy during the week. Good wifi signal for when you wanna work on a laptop

Been travelling for past 3 weeks in Scotland, France and England and the best coffee we've had was at Costa Wallsend. Fantastic flat white!

I pop in here quite regularly for a takeaway drink, and it's always nice to visit. Very rarely have to wait long to be served, and the staff are friendly and helpful without being overbearing. My only gripe, and this is not personal to this branch, is the prices. I would be a far more frequent patron if I could afford to be!

Back in July I was having a rough time at work and decided after pottering around wallsend, paying my bills and getting bits of shopping ect...

Large and food is nice but expensive. Coffees and teas are lovely. Staff quite friendly. Lot of the sandwiches made here taste sweet not sure why but they do have some unusual ones

My regular coffee hang out was Starbucks, but since Costa opened I have changed to here, the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are so genuinely friendly, Matt in particular is above the rest, he's always chatting and asking how I am, very pleasant and happy, there's a girl also who is above the rest but I don't know her name, we're always discussing books lol, I'd recommend anyone to come here for their cuppa and a bite to eat.

This coffee shop is a converted Blockbusters video hire shop. It is a typical Costa layout but has ample sitting space. You can purchase the usual Coata array of drink and food. The venue has a nice ambiance about it,staff pleasant and courteous.

Having visited lots of Costas, I have to say that this is clearly my favourite... Katie and her team are outstanding. The store is always immaculate, the decor is very comfortable, and the food /coffee selection is great. But above all of this, it is the friendliness of the staff... (nothing is too much trouble) and the warm welcome that will keep me and my family comming back.

My wife and I are seasoned Costa visitors from the south coast to the Scottish Borders. We have visited this store on a few occasions now, and found this to be our favourite Costa of all.

coffee is nice, as expected. I like the large selection of food they have (in comparison to a leading competitor)
