The young lad behind the bar is an absolute credit to your establishment. You could tell he was on his own today due to staff but he handled it amazingly. Thank you!

We'd never been to Tynemouth before. It's such a lovely place the first night we had a really great meal in Copperfields Bar. So good we returned a few days later to try something else from the menu. Weather was perfect, didn't try the sea but there was some folks in.

This pub was a real find tucked away at the side of The Grand Hotel, which it is part of. During a recent nine night stay in Tynemouth I visited this charming little pub most nights. I was especially impressed with the range of ales including some from the local Cullercoats Brewery. There's a traditional British pub feel in here and in some ways it reminded me of a bustling pub you may find in a larger town or city. The food was excellent and the Roast dinners available every day on the Specials Board were especially tasty. Last but not least the bar staff were very welcoming and friendly. The pub is located in Hotspur Street ( which as a Spurs fan is a location I'm unlikely to forget).

Love to walk along the coast into Tynemouth for food and a few beers at Copperfields. Always a good selection of cask and keg on the bar. Best of all there is a permanent Twobytwo cask line on which rotates though there great unfined and unfiltered beers. Food is excellent and the bar staff supply a great friendly service. Lovely local feel pub at the back of the Grand Hotel. Delicious looking specials board today and a good collection of local ales. Had a beer from Cullercoats Brewery today and Guineas flavoured crisps! Good simple menu, though would say a little pricey for what they are. Lovely views from the hotel, however the pub is at the back of the building and so the views are only there when you step outside. Disabled access and baby changing facilities! Thanks for a good afternoon drink! Had the football on the television as well!

Great service, friendly clean bar, well presented, very disappointing beef baguette! Really nice place, just set back from Longsands and plenty in when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. Close call between the burger and the beef baguette for me. Went for the beef baguette, served with salad and coleslaw which were very nice. The beef baguette looked good, but the appearance of the beef was most usual, it wasn't sliced beef as you would expect, it appeared to be a much cheaper option, effectively long thin pieces, I would hope not processed but certainly very much lacking any flavour, and plenty of fatty pieces. Over powered by the gravy, couldn't taste any beef at all, but it was hot and the day was cold, didn't have the time to send it back to the kitchen for a replacement. Surprised given that the pricing seems fair for the setting and type of place it is, that such poor quality meat would be used, the baguette was acceptable, but lacked any flavour, typical of the part baked baguettes you can buy in the supermarket. That will teach me, the neighbouring table had burger, which looked a much better option. WIll certainly return, but will be steering well clear of the beef baguette. Having said that the mrs and kids had no complaints with their lasagne, or burgers, which went down well. Couldn't fault the service and a good choice of ales available. Would certainly give this place another try when visiting the coast.

Lovely character pub with good atmosphere. Nice friendly bar staff. The meal was well presented, came out quickly and was hot and appeared to be good value. Unfortunately that's where the positive bit ends. This meat (if you can call it that) was a reconstituted pressed poor version of a hamburger. I had the cheeseburger and chips. My sister had the pulled pork version of this. Neither of us ate the burger which was absolutely disgusting. We were told that it was just personal preference although the barperson said he'd already had another complaint about it. Surely that is an indication of something wrong? No offer of deduction for the burger. I would be wary of buying food in this restaurant again.

We requested the hand cut chips rather than the fries and this wasn't a problem. We picked from the lightbites menu but when the 2 good sized fishcakes came with a bucket of chunky chips and a side of sweet chilli sauce and salad we were surprised at the generous size of the meal. However it was so delicious we polished off the lot. There was a very generous amount of salmon in the fishcakes and the chill sauce had a lovely kick. All washed down with some ice cold alcoholic ginger beer. Also at £23 including drinks a very reasonable price. We'll be back

My Husbands Mother always visits the Grand Hotel in December and it is tradition that we meet for a meal. I was a little worried this year as last Christmas when we visited it was pretty bad, meals mixed up, only one brussel sprout for one person and heaps for another, meals out at different times! Had our bill refunded as did lots of other tables. However.... what a difference a year makes. Food was excellent quality, served all at the same time, piping hot and staff were professional and courteous. Marked down one point as the pulled pork burger and falafel burger were given to the wrong people, luckily the intended recipient of the falafel burger who ended up with the pulled pork burger isn't veggie so no issues. Didn't make a fuss as we were very happy with everything else. Good prices too and a nice welcoming atmosphere, will definitely be back!

We fancied a Sunday dinner out and having heard good things about this pub/hotel we turned up expecting a decent meal. We were sadly disappointed. My wife chose the turkey and I picked the beef. Although the meat was tasty the whole meal was spoilt as it was swimming in gravy. In addition the potatoes were hard. The Yorkshire puddings were fine but everything was floating in gravy so it spoilt any chance of tasting the meal. At £9.95 a head I would have expected much better and we will not be returning.

Overpriced and Soggy Quiche. Ordered 2 cheese, chive, and onion quiches that had been microwaved, very wet, and flavourless. On the menu, a plain jacket potato was £3.50 but if you want cheese, it would be £8.90, how can you justify £5.40 for a bit of cheese?!
