Can't fault it. One of the best burgers I've ever had. Pizza was good size and plenty of topping. Would definitely go again.

Have been multiple times and every time it's been fantastic! Food is to die for. The staff are really friendly. And the beer selection is spot on. Would highly recommend:)

Avoid at all costs. The owner is a horrible Scary man. Screamed at my 7 year old with no conversation with me. Happy to take over £100 for the bill but swearing his head off at kids. Never ever visiting again. His staff said to us the kids had done nothing yet are clearly terrified infront of him. Avoid at all costs if trying to take children.

Lived near all my 54yrs and never been in, actually ventured inside last week, food amazing, not over priced, tasty, great friendly staff and just a very lovely pub. Will defo be back 😊

Just visited this great pub for Sunday lunch. It was hands down one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had in a long long time. We’ve been before but never had Sunday lunch, so this was our first try after a recommendation from friends. Lovely home cooked food with every bit of it cooked to perfection. All at a decent price. And super friendly service too. Top marks! We’ll be back.

Friendly local with good food. Sport on multiple screens when we visited on Saturday lunchtime.

Food was very poor, I ordered the Steak and Ale pie, with twice cooked chips and mushy peas. The pie was burnt as were the chips and the mushy peas were so dry they were inedible. My partner ordered Haddock Bites and chips, again the chips were burnt and the fish bites overdone. When we informed the staff all we get was an “oh dear”

Very nice welcome from the bar staff. Tim Taylor's on draught - nearly £5 pint.... Let down by sticky tables and sky sports news blasting out of lots of tvs (adverts even louder...) that no one was watching.... Could do better.

Fresh, bright pub. Very attentive bar lady. Food smelled delish even tho we didn't eat there.

Clean with good beer and a pleasant outdoor seating area. A great place to meet friends.

After visiting with family for food I must say that I was very disappointed after reading good reviews. The scampi was burnt and dry and the chunky chilli beef (well what can I say) the chunky beef was like normal mince. For the price we paid it was the worst meal I have been served in a long time.

Visited today with the family for Sunday lunch. Lovely pub, great atmosphere and staff were really friendly. The service and quality of food was excellent - all good value too at £10.95 for an adults chicken, beef, pork or nut roast Sunday lunch. Kids Sunday lunch was £9.95. Excellent portion sizes. Only one downside, there was no chicken by the time (3:30pm) we sat for lunch. After dinner, we pushed ourselves and shared a couple of puddings - both also very good quality and value! We all really enjoyed our dinners and we will definitely be back - we normally have lunch around 2pm, so I’m hoping we’ll be early enough to get the choice of chicken next time too! ** Updated ** visited 13th November and had the chicken Sunday lunch. Great pub, great food, lovely staff. Would go as far to say this is now my favourite pub in Whitley Bay 👍🏻

Decent local with a compact menu that works, probably the best Buffalo Wings on the coast and a quality chili. Friendly & happy staff. Go here rather than the Briar Dene.

Although quiet when we visited there was a warm welcome and a range of beers available as well as tasty food selections at good value prices

Revisited this pub after a four-year hiatus and it’s even better now than I remember it. We have been on numerous occasions over the past two weeks and are reminded time and again why we like it. They don’t have a vast menu but what they do provide is first class and varied enough. The selection of beer is quite good and everything we have tried is superbly kept and fresh. The finest aspect is the staff who are always helpful and friendly and never seem flustered no matter how busy the pub is.

Great night out, the bar staff are extremely attentive & check out the quiz but make sure you book a table in advance as it is extremely popular.

I have been a regular customer since lockdown. I often have a Sunday Roast takeaway. It's one of the best in the area. I tested positive for Covid a week ago and I have been isolating which is no fun. When the landlady heard this she jumped in her car to drop a lunch off. What a lovely gesture that was and it made my day. Food was brilliant as usual. Thank you so much for your kindness. See you soon

We visited on a nice sunny day and The Quarry had the perfect selection of ice cold lager for a heatwave. Staff were really nice, prices were pretty good and I definitely go back next time I am in the area.

Great pub nicely done out. Really good clientele. They do these pizzas that are just next level. Absolutely incredible quality and flavours. The beers are good quality even have a couple craft beers in Which I love. Would definitely recommend. Not a cheap pub tho.

A lovely surprise this evening with dinner out on a Thursday. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here. Neck oil on tap and what a delicious pint that is. Food included macaroni cheese bites, chicken breast dippers and a pizza and the pizza was so cheesy. Staff could not have been more attentive!

Great little pub with friendly staff. Beers include Moretti and Landlord. Pizzas are better than you should expect from a pub.

Be sure to get there in good time as in April service is to outside tables only during COVID restrictions. No booking just turn up and grab a table, weather was warm and sunny when we went so it got busy quickly, service slowed as it filled up, but on the whole it was good and they coped well. Food simple and tasty, could have a little more on the plate, good value.

This pub is fairly local to me. We're all dealing with the situation we find ourselves in with the virus and this sector has been hit hard. I have to confess I've never been in here before. I heard they were providing take away food so I wanted to try it. First thing was the response on the phone. Bright positive and friendly lady, made we want to go there. Second thing was getting there and a feeling of clean organised service that filled me with the confidence to actually eat the food, because let's be honest many places have struggled with that! Thirdly and importantly was the quality of the food and value for money. Top marks in both of those. Well done guys. Stay positive, No-one has ever seen anything as bad as this for your sector. I live in Tynemouth so I am quite spoiled for choice here, but your attitude, service and quality will get me along there when you can reopen, and bring my pals too. Well done again.
