The Beach House in North Tyneside

I recommend the Beach House. We go every week the food is amazing. The staff are really friendly.

Absolutely 10/10 food, served by a friendly team in a very nicely fitted out space. Everything I’ve tried there is delicious - especially the crab on toast with a side of salty fries. A decent Bloody Mary too. One of a growing number of food places in Whitley Bay that is genuinely top quality.

We came for a birthday brunch with our toddler son and it was heaven. A rainy Monday morning. Welcomed by the lovely staff. Fantastic atmosphere and calming setting as well as music to suit the mood. Food and drinks were delicious. Catered for younger ones while we were able to enjoy our own food. Decor is fab! Views of the coast. We felt very relaxed. We will be back. Thank you so much!

Attended a private function. Food and service very good. The fruit scones were exceptional and would make a return visit for those alone. Beautiful , uninterrupted view of the North sea, which created a calm, contemplative atmosphere for the occassion.

A most pleasant seaside cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Delicious coffees, teas and food freshly prepared. Very attractive surroundings. Dog friendly and People Friendly.

Visited on a Tuesday lunchtime and sat outside in the sun. I had crab on gluten free bun which was excellent and husband had steak sandwich which he also said was fab. Only downside is that if you sit over the road your meal comes in a carry out as they are not allowed plates etc across the busy road. Having said that we will be back.

I had the french toast with bacon and a chai latte. Food was delicious and lovely sitting outside. However, there were no menus on any tables and once we found one and went inside to order, the staff weren't the friendliest. They forgot two of my friends' orders so we had to go back inside and ask where they were after waiting over 20 minutes for a glass of water and a brownie.

Fantastic venue, with brilliant staff and amazing food. Couldn't fault a thing.

How hard can it be to serve one coffee, a croissant and a brownie? 25 mins, two polite requests and then the order arrived. Without the brownie. Wish we'd walked straight past.

Popped in for a coffee while on a walk and will definitely be back. Lovely decor, friendly staff, great views and the food menu looks superb. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic food, service and atmosphere

Very nice food in a really nice setting. The brioche with fruit and yogurt was great as was the smoked mackerel on sourdough. Coffee is good too, and so I am told are the mimosas nothing not to like, not too busy, probably because they seem to be building on both sides, but that’s everyone else’s loss, makes for a fantastic brunch

So lovely to see this place open again, we’ve had quite a few meals recently at breakfast time and lunch all of which were outstanding. Both inside and out the cafe is beautiful and the food to die for especially the North Shields Crab. The 2 ladies who own The Beach House have got it spot on and should be so proud. A great addition to Whitley Bay Seafront.

We ate at their tables across the road from The Beach House so that we got the sea view. The food was excellent, as was the service, and it is also generous portions - so very good value. Highly recommended. Also, some very good vegetarian options. We selected from the full menu which is available from 12.30pm. This venue has been under different ownership over the years, and the quality of the food has returned to as it once was - superb - but with the added benefit of there being more seating due to there being the additional outdoor seating area and the inside has been reorganised as well.

Bring back Café 19! Standards have slipped since changing ownership. Scone was the worst I've ever had. Dry beyond belief.

Absolutley abysmal compared to when lt was Cafe 19. Overpriced. Service poor. Waited 30 mins from getting tea to breakfast arriving. Wasn't worth the wait food dried out and barely edible. Interior crammed with tables so it was very hard to move around. I won't be use them Again. Shame, I frequented Cafe 19 for years!

I had breakfast here with friends today and I have to say that the new owners are doing a great job at establishing it as one of the best spots on the cost for breakfast. The eggs Benedict was very good and my friends were also very pleased with their breakfast sandwiches. Quick service from friendly and efficient staff and great value for money. Easy parking at Spanish city a 2 minute walk away and if you are staying at one of the local hotels, such as the whitley bay premier inn, but fancy a breakfast upgrade this is well worth a shot.

Just popped in to get some lunch to take away, excellent service and the food was amazing I'd definitely go back i would of loved to have had the time to dine in.

Just opened up last week 2 minutes away from Spanish city . I took my daughter after school for a treat on the way home for a juice and some cake,they have done a great job inside a lovely outdoor terrace and also an added bonus terrace across the street overlooking the beach. Great relaxing atmosphere and great selection of sweet stuff for the family ,also a nice menu see ( on my photos ), We will definitely be back with the rest of the family.

We went for dinner following seeing peanut and pablos tik tok our service was amazing by marnie made us and our dog feel welcome. Food was amazing and the doggy treats will definitely come again on my next visit

Great new place on the seafront. Lovely decor. Seats inside and out, looking out on to the sea. Great for brunch. Excellent food and good value. Watch out for the time between brunch and lunch where only limited food is available.

What a lovely find today for lunch. The food was outstanding (mussels and seafood linguine) and the service very, very friendly. Also the coffee was very good and the cakes looked lovely, too. We'll definitely come back.

Nice tea and coffee but cramped a bit, food looked lovely

Welcomed both us and our dog inside. Great window view but most importantly the food was great…highly recommend the seafood linguine. Sadly they were out of mussels but the dish was packed with everything else. Great cosy feel to the place and the decor was amazing.

Stayed one night in Whitley bay and stumbled across The Beach house. Booked a table as dog friendly and so glad we did. Very welcoming and food was fantastic. Starters of Prawns , Squid,Veg rolls and the cajun chicken were really nice. The two burgers and pulled pork nacho's that the grandaughters had were again lovely. The whole icing on the cake was a nice cold pint of Neck Oil. Great Experience. Thanks from the 4 of us and Florence the dog.

This place has changed hands or been rebranded as The Beach House. The service was slow and they got the order wrong. No apologies.

Popped in not long before closing on a Sunday afternoon, service was fantastic, we did not feel rushed at all. Food and drinks were delicious! Our two children enjoyed the kids all day breakfast. Great find, we will be back!

I stayed overnight in Whitley Bay and wanted to find a coffee shop on Sunday morning. I happened across Cafe 19. As an evangelist, my calling is carrying a 12’ cross as I travel throughout the UK, although I’m looking forward to moving to the north-east later this year. So, going back to the cross, I like to give barista’s a challenge. The barista at my local Caffe Nero in Sussex did a cross on my latte. The challenge is can the barista make my latte how I like it? If they can, I pay if they can’t pay. I have had lots of free lattes and some wonderful conversations about the Lord Jesus Christ. It was the same here but, I want to acknowledge the skill of the barista… The attached photographs show the original cross, the cross from Cafe 19 and the cross that I carry which prompted the original cross.

Didn't realise it'd been taken over - portions are smaller, prices higher and service wasn't great.

I don't know what happened to this lovely little cafe but they seem to be under new management now and it's nothing like it used to be. Went there for a birthday brunch, waited for nearly 50mins but there was no sign of our food nor any apology informing us that there was a delay in the kitchen. We had to leave without any food in the end, such a waste of time and a disappointment on a birthday!! Reading recent reviews, slow service seems to be a regular occurrence at this establishment, wish we had seen the reviews before heading there! Save your time and money, avoid this place!!!

4 of us called in for a coffee to get out of the rain but all ordered breakfast as well. The food was excellent as was the coffee and other drinks.would of been 5 stars but asked for sugar twice but they still didn’t bring it,ended up asking the people at the next table if we could share theirs.

What has happened to Cafe 19? Used to be cosy, lovely decor, great food. Now it's stark white, fewer tables, bad service (slow, and no spoons or sugar provided) and poor food. Used to do good scones. Ours arrived and were tiny. Mine was grey (fat?) around the edges so I sent it back and ordered toast. Only later did I realise I'd paid for the grey scone anyway. Been going there for years but won't go back...

Service was friendly but a little slow

Came with my partner following the refurbishment just before Christmas. Breakfast was lovely and my partner got a burger which was freshly made along with homemade chips. Food was spot on couldn't fault it. The only downside was extremely slow service for a small place.

Cafe 19 has recently been taken over by cullercoats coffee and refurbished inside. We visited on the first Saturday they were open under this new brand, having visited previously. I ordered bacon pancakes and asked for a side of scrambled egg, my partner opting for a full English. I have to say I was disappointed in my meal. There were 2 bits of fatty bacon on top of the pancakes, which were dry by the time I got to the bottom (a pot of syrup needed on the side I think). The eggs didn’t arrive and I didn’t think it worth the effort to ask for them. The full English was lacking toast, this should be included or at least make it an extra for 50p or something. Took a while to pay once we had asked for the bill. Overall I wouldn’t rush back to this local establishment now it’s under new management.

Very relaxed vibe. Dog friendly. Lovely friendly staff. I had the buttermilk pancakes with crispy bacon and maple syrup - scrumptious! The coffee is excellent too. Sea views add even more to the experience. Very happy customer.

I used to like this cafe as it’s local and I would often recommend it however, recently I gave my dog a treat whilst sitting outside and was what felt like “told off” for giving my dog a dog treat. I will use it again as all of the staff (except this particular lady) are always so pleasant and food and drink is lovely. Felt a little let down especially as I think she may be a manager and should lead by example with customer care. Apart from this we have always enjoyed our meals/snacks here

It was good. The food was served quickly. I really enjoyed my American pancake stack. The coffee wasn't that good but I applaud them on their extensive coffee menu. Wish there was an option to add milk into the alcoholic coffees as mine was too strong. Maybe add the options for frappes ? Good serving sizes, clean tables and toilets. Option to sit outside. Dog friendly. The one thing that let this place down was the waiting time to receive the bill.

The food was terrible. Full English (skillet) was served cold,no sausage on the meal and what looked like 4 mushrooms. The front of house staff, were brilliant and understanding of my issue.

I really like this place and normally the service is excellent with super friendly staff. Unfortunately today this was not the case my nephew requested no eggs tomatoes or mushrooms with his breakfast. When the order arrived it had eggs told the server who immediately took it back, however the waitress who took the order came back very aggressively saying he had not mentioned no eggs & if he had an allergies he should have informed her he is not allergic just does not like eggs, he certainly did say no eggs she was the only one not to hear this. We did get it sorted however spoilt or breakfast a little but not enough to stop us going back. The food was amazing as always sorry we had the over aggressive waitress not the best customer service today.

Very welcoming staff, my husband really enjoyed skillet breakfast hasn't stopped going on about it telling everyone, my crispy bacon granary bun was delicious, felt comfortable, relaxed, lovely atmosphere and well looked after by the amazing staff we will definitely be back to try lunch menu. Keep up the amazing attitude and a shout out to the kitchen staff.

Popped in one day for coffee and cake (delicious) and went back for brunch later in the week. Service and food were both excellent. Will definitely be going back when we are next in Whitley Bay.

Very good experience! There was no free inside table when we walked in. We were offered to wait outside on the seaside terrace and asked inside as soon as a table was available. Cake was very good. Coffee too. Beautifully decorated shop. Nice toilets with a secluded corner for a changing table and a chair for nursing. 👍 Kids menue and babyccino available. Access to the beach just across the street and big playground around the corner.

Amazing selection of food and drink. We ran out of time for dessert but the staff provided take out box. Fantastic service

Love this place. Lovely interior, they allow dogs, outdoor seating, friendly staff and great food at reasonable prices. Only downside is that everyone local knows it so it can be hard to get a seat!

Had A Great English Skillet Breakfast on two occasions and the hash browns were the best I have ever had and took we back to my childhood days on Germany when I used to love there fried potato pancakes.and these were just as good and to die for. The staff were great and very helpful and it was very busy on the first day we visited which was a Sunday which is always a good sign. I rate this as 5 Star.

Just decided to come in here to grab a breakfast. The skillet was so good sausages are decent too everything cooked nicely..atmosphere is nice and cosy was throughly packed which is always a good sign..

Absolutely beautiful cafe on the seafront. Had a delicious lunch with my family and everyone's food was first class. The goats cheese stack was particularly tasty!! Excellent selection of coffees and traybakes available also. Friendly staff which also helps! Would highly recommend!! Will be back!! (Even though I live in Belfast!)
