Blacksmiths Coffee Shop in North Tyneside

This cafe is a very popular one in the Blagdon estate shopping area called milkhope, it’s a lovely cafe with plenty space, on busy days (pretty much every day) you may have to wait for a table the line does go down fast, & it is worth waiting for. The food is homemade and perfect for lunch. They also sell some locally made produce. I recommend their chocolate cake. But everything they do here is lovely. The staff are extremely friendly.

Nice place for light lunches and hot drinks. Can get a bit noisy with all the chatter. Open 7 as a week

Called in with my wife Christine for a snack while visiting the nearby Bridal Wish shop. Found a table for 2 then we both opted for a cheese scone , a flat white and a hot chocolate. Food and drinks spot on , staff polite and efficient, will call again.

Cosy coffee shop, definitely not a café food menu is egg based mere entirely but I love an egg so really cannot complain. can be often quite cold as its a stone building, can be a good dessert selection on a frequent occasion.

Not open. We went out of our way to stop here, it said it was open on its website and google - but it was closed and seems it is closed right through to New Years. Even the A board on the main road shows it as open. It’s such a lazy way to carry on.

So disappointed today … my husband and I are frequent visitors to the Blacksmiths and always been happy enough with the food and the service but today was not good … particularly one member of staff let us down badly with her attitude… she spoke to my husband like she was talking to a naughty child …. This was purely because he was slightly confused over which coffee had a free refill…. Our order took 25 minutes to come to the table by which the coffees were finished ….The food this morning was a let down too my bacon sandwich was so well cooked it was hard to digest !! …the poached egg was accompanied by some boiled ham which had never been requested … cold boiled ham on top of poached eggs was not good …. All in all not the best visit ….

Overpriced and Soggy Quiche. Ordered 2 cheese, chive, and onion quiches that had been microwaved, very wet, and flavourless. On the menu, a plain jacket potato was £3.50 but if you want cheese, it would be £8.90, how can you justify £5.40 for a bit of cheese?!

First visit to this place, spacious and clean, staff friendly and attentive, food only had latte and cake both very good will definitely be back.

Called in on our way up the A1. A great stop off point. Nice coffee and good food.

A very busy place always, but it is also always a pleasure to visit as the excellent choices if food are top class and very fresh - so along with the friendly welcome and good service and a canny pot if tea for 3 - it keeps us coming back for more. Sit in and enjoy the fab food or take it away. Choice us yours. Dont miss making it a place to call. Great farm shop, clothes shop, cook shop + other outlets to keep you interested ( some a little pricey - but you might fall upon a great bargain). Enjoy - we do.

Very popular, very tasty food and lovely coffee. Very busy, which unfortunately meant queuing twice: once to get a table inside and again to order food.

This place is a little gem. Haven't been in for a long time. Didn't disappoint. Everything was lovely.

Excellent cafe, large with good quality. It can be a bit echoey and noisy which is the reason I knocked off an 'atmosphere' star. A great place to eat while visiting the farm shop, gallery etc, and close to Northumberlandia (Lady of the North).

I've been here quite a few times and it's always been fabulous! Lovely little spot for some lunch or a quick coffee. Forgot to take any photos apart from of my caramel shortbread but trust me when I say its lovely and cosy inside Service was great, very friendly and helpful staff They even offer gluten free options which was great for my partner as they got to enjoy a cheese scone with me! Would recommend to anyone passing by!

We lunch/have coffee at this place at least once a week. Quality of food has always been superb. Extremely friendly staff, particularly at Milkhope, unmatched in our opinion. 5-start is truly meant here!

Just like having the best of mums cooking without having to do the washing up or listen to dad farting.

Great food, great service and a nice ambience

A really nice and busy venue for a coffee and food. Cheese scone very nice indeed and bacon sandwich really tasty too. 2nd cup of filter coffee free. Staff really helpful and polite. Also good base to check out the Adjoinig shops. Free parking too.

Many years since I was last here, the food was excellent, service at ordering and table delivery very quick and friendly, on a very busy day.

Been going there for years. What has happened to the bread, it was not fresh with my soup. My friends gluten free bread was awful. It fell apart straight away and was also not fresh. This is a lovely coffee shop but needs to improve the quality of its 🍞 bread🤨

Always great food and good service. Everything is home made. Never disappoints.

This is a very popular spot for coffee and/or lunch with a constant turnover of tables - so the wait won't be long if you don't find a seat straight away. Baked potatoes are very good as is the homemade soup. Cakes are excellent, the ginger cake alone is worth the return trip for me. There are several, quality retail outlets to peruse too.

Love this place. Excellent to sit outside on a nice day. Food is lovely and plentiful. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Takes a while to get served when busy, but that's by-the-by. Highly recommend if you're passing.

We really needed somewhere to have a meal as had several hours to wait while our dog had a mri scan. Don't allow dogs in. Very disappointed.

Popped in today as was waiting for a chain saw getting fixed lad recommended this cafe , was so good had a good range of gluten free, cake toastie and cheese scone were divine washed down with a lovely pot of tea , service was fab staff friendly happy , place was clean , and the food was divine I will be back thank you

After standing in a qué waiting to be served for 15 minutes. Then staff then decided to server people that were not in the cue. I found this very rude. I think people should wait there turn. It would save a lot of angry customers.

Overrated. Coffee in tiny cups that was cold and tasted like instant frothy coffee not a barista style cappuccino. Scones were tiny too. Far too much jam and cream for such a small scone. Was made to sit outside as No dog policy. But plenty of screaming kids running riot chucking food on the floor. Staff slow to clear tables. Not a nice atmosphere, mediocre food and poor value compared to other local cafes.

Popped here as a lunch stop on our journey and really pleasantly surprised - lovely big cafe with great food, drinks and cakes on offer. We had our dog in tow so sat outside and then stretched our legs and gave him a walk in the nearby woodland. Lovely little stop!

Have been coming here for years. Always full and busy but last few times we visited have noticed a decline. Still busy but menu reduced portion sizes much smaller, ran out of potatoes apparently so no jackets. Panini with salad and crisps. Well- four soggy crisps a couple of rocket leaves. Panini with tomato chutney and tomato. Spot the chutney. Very dry flat and boring. Poached egg on toast. Dry. Eggs small and shrivelled. Coffee lukewarm. Not usual standards at all. Also noted food coming out kitchen looked poor. Limp sandwiches and flat scones. Not just a one off as been last few times we’ve been. May have to go elsewhere next time. Shame. Food It us d to be lovely.

Oh my. Lentil and tomato soup with sweet peppers, accompanied by a warm cheese scone. I'm still thinking about it. Only snag was that they had sold out of chocolate caramel shortbread. I nearly had a tantrum, but managed to narrowly maintain decorum. You won't be disappointed here. Yummy home cooking at affordable prices.

Very full today but still got served quick. Car park was full.

Visited the cafe today and had the most expensive disappointing cheese toastie ever. It was greasy and looked burnt and even the waitress said as she put it down ‘is that ok for you’? I ate it as I didn’t want to make a fuss in front of friends. I couldn’t taste any cheese and feel very nauseas an hour after eating it. Won’t be ordering that again. £7.95 wasted on two slices of greasy bread.

We had a delicious breakfast there it wasn't our first and it will not be the last!

Sadly they keep changing how tables are allocated. Chaotic and confusing particularly at busy times. Staff were very busy clearing tables to allow them to allocate to new arrivals.Have visited many many times but probably won't visit again. They need to make it much clearer on when to order and how tables are allocated.

Went for a cup of tea...pleasant surroundings.....more than enough tea for 3 in the pot plus pot of hot water.

Staff are always so welcoming & friendly. Place is clean and airy, food is all freshly prepared. What's not to like!! <3

Enjoyed a ham salad and poached eggs today. Plenty of ham, coleslaw was lovely and creamy, tomato chutney was really tasty, poached eggs cooked to perfection. Absolutely no complaints will be calling in again.

Great little coffee shop with some great cakes. Real shame they seemed to have no biscuits, nor any real sugar-free or low sugar options with my coffee.

First visit but will certainly return. Lovely selection of scones and cakes, served with good hot coffee, by friendly helpful staff.
