Quiet, not lot of people out, but nice.

I'm nearly 60 and gave been coming here for 43 years :) love the music selection. The foods always good. Nice selection of beers and nice staff. Wots not 2 like.

Good food for a good price. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Plenty of choice on both food and drinks. The pub is clean and plenty of T-Vs for entertainment

Another lovely Sunday lunch and to watch the match staff are very attentive and friendly fast service at the bar will definitely be back soon and recommend to friends

Sunday lunch for me purfect Steak for hubby spot on No complaints from us happy eaters cheap too we nearly always end up here on a Sunday odd weekdays we usually come with family

Was here 11 months ago and nothing has changed Meal ok chicken was better than last year Desserts again not worth the money Had to send £6.50 !! Even though there was a misunderstanding with one of the meals we will come again. Great food at reasonable prices. Simon was very good at replacing the meal and attentive without being intrusive. We all enjoyed the food.

Hi don’t do reviews very often but today we visited The Newton for a meal and a drink for lunch Service very good and beers were spot on ,unfortunately I must comment on your chicken pieces and strips which we had in our combo starter and my Katsu chicken main ,the batter was soft and mushy and the chicken was over processed shaped crumbs with no taste what so ever, not up to the usual standards we would expect from green king, can not blame the chef think the supplier needs changing ,been to your pubs on many occasions always enjoyed .

The quality of the food changes at times. I went there a month back and ordered mini mixed grill, the food was really good so went there again last week for the same dish. This time it was not good. Taste was different and felt like the sausage did not cook well

Me and the kids decided to grab some afternoon tea, we had BOGOF Burgers from the menu. The burgers were overcooked, almost black, and terribly dry. The onions weren't fried, just chopped up red onions mixed with BBQ sauce. The lettuce was fresh and crunchy which was nice but the whole thing was just dry and nasty, and the fried were barely warm. The drinks are an absolute joke too. Asked for large coke zero and received a glass with barely 2/3 of the glass filled. I mean seriously, it costs a fraction to fill the dang thing up to the line, especially since you're paying around £3+ per glass! For soda. The staff were friendly but there was particular member who didn't look very inviting at all, with almost a scowl on her face as she was pottering around serving. It's quite comical really. I've been here before and it was a 5/10 experience but I will be avoiding this place in future. The standard price for the burger meal I bought was priced at over £10 but was not worth that at all. The food is a solid 2/10. Save your money, go to the corner house where you'll get a quality meal at around the same price. They're quite stingy with drink top ups too so be warned. It's really becoming a pet peeve of mine that you pay over £3 (sometimes almost £4) for a soft drink to receive a glass with 25% of its contents missing. Do better hungry horse.

Lovely food,always a friendly service

No cheesecake barely any pudding and food was cold

Saturday evening meal somewhat ruined by every dish missing key components. My side salad was just a few leaves, nothing else, my partners salt & pepper fries were salt & pepper-less and my boozy sticky toffee pudding was plain sponge. Really disappointing. Server was lovely though!

We visited this pub for lunch Thursday 23rd May whilst visiting Newcastle on a quick overnight trip The food was fab really reasonably priced and staff were lovely, they were very friendly, courteous, helpful and smiley. I’d highly recommend a visit to this one for sure Thanks guys for a pleasant lunch we left unable to eat for the rest of the day and evening 👍

Local pub. Often go here around Christmas time. They have function rooms for parties. Display sports events. Serve food and serve drink. They are kid friendly throughout the day. Plenty parking in the car park. Have outdoor seating. Can order on app. Reasonably clean. Toilets not so clean. Service as expected from a pub. Will update more on next visit.

Had a lovely gammon and chips and egg served really quick by a friendly staff member and a pint of shandy served by a friendly bar person, definitely recommend and I would go again

Just had a full monty mixed grill, nice atmosphere and food was spot on.

I've just been in for a lovely late lunch. Fish and chips with mushy peas and an extraportionofbreadandbutter. I was served by Sofie, who was very pleasant and helpful. Fish had a lovely light and crisp batter, chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The only downside was the Tartare Sauce, which was a bit thin and runny, room for improvement. Overall highly recommended.

The midweek deals are unbelievable value, highly recommend the mini mixed grill on a Monday and the curry deals on a Wednesday. I’ve called in here several times the last couple of years and it is a great local to have. Thank you, this place has been my saviour during a difficult few years so it’s been great to have somewhere near that is friendly and you can trust for a pint and great food.

05/04/24 - Went in about 12. Had the quadzilla and my daughter had chicken nuggets. Stella was lovely and my daughter enjoyed her juice. Would recommend anyone with kids to go and music is on low so no worries about to much noise and a quick serves. Thank you for a lovely start to the day. Much better then up the road at the other Greene king pub. Prices are brilliant and at a good value. I will 100% be returning.

We are regular customers and have enjoyed our meals here often . Today we were treated appallingly by members of staff because we removed our plates to another table to make room for our coffee cups . As a consequence words were exchanged by the management and another member of staff got involved unnecessarily . As a result we were asked to leave and not return. This was a very unpleasant experience .

Great pub you can tell it’s a very professionally pub run by the relaxed atmosphere just been in with the wife had a beautiful meal for lunch! Lady that took my order and served my drinks I think may have been the landlady couldn't do enough for us both! Staff were very courteous & very efficient when delivering our meals adding to a very friendly atmosphere! food menu was great loads to choose from that caters for all 😃 Drinks are very reasonably priced compared to another Greenking pub nearby in the area! Easy access to the pub with a substantially large carpark! Will Definately be calling back again 😃

Sunday roast was really good, had the beef and Yorkshire's. Cooked well, delicious tasting, prompt service from the staff.

Ordered the chicken burger and paid a little extra for salt and pepper fries. What I ended up with was the most low effort meal I've had in a pub. Soggy fries with the tiniest splash of seasoning lumped in the middle, and a dry burger with next to no other ingredients. The staff bringing out the food were lovely and friendly but those closing up at the end of the night were anything but. The only saving grace was the pints were decent.

Myself and my wife have just been to the Newton and after 3 weeks of coming here I can honestly say I wouldn't go anywhere else, we are made very welcome and the bar staff are very friendly but the food is great and most definitely worth the money, delicious food with generous portions and a massive thank you to Leslie and Ellie who are very friendly and professional people and a pleasure to meet ,well done to the team at the Newton

Delicious meals ordered off the Super Saturday choices. Great value and super tasty. Like to visit this pun every so often as the menu is plentiful.

We were told 5hat we would not get food for at least 3 quarters of a hour waiting list so didn't bother

Popped in with my mam and sister for food and was pleased to see an extensive menu all reasonably priced and loads of deals, we all opted for lasagne with a side of chips and was very nicely presented and tasted very nice. We had to finish our meal with fudge cake and custard which was delicious, we will definitely be back.

My daughter in law and I had been shopping and were about to drive by when I saw the pub sign so we decided to go in. Caroline had her usual Scampi and chips but I decided to have something different to my usual. The best pub grub out there for your hungry hearts. It’s a shame that inflation has driven up their prices a bit and they had to let go of some staff which were very courteous and tbh really lit up the mood. The best bit about going there after a hectic day at work was their hospitality. It felt like Hyem. I had a bad day one day and I was visiting my pub after two weeks. The changed in culture was implemented just a bit ago before this visit, I ate my meal, wonderfully made , chef’s an artist. The only thing that was missing was their customary ask- “How was your meal, everything alright?” Nobody asked anymore. It was my bday that day, dont get me wrong it’s the best pub out there in that nook, a beautiful one. But something’s amiss, at least was for that day. Missed that homely warmth. Hope they restore the culture back.

Just been to this pub and had a fabulous meal, had steak and was cooked to perfection. Hubby had gammon steak and couldn’t fault it. Staff excellent.service great. Can’t wait to come back again

Not a real pub, more of a cafe that sells beer. Couldn't find a seat. They were all reserved for diners. The only place where a seat was available was in the sports part. This was dominated by loud music, so it was impossible to have a conversation. Kids running around didn't make this a good experience. Will not return!

Ordered a beef Sunday dinner, beef was so fatty and tough, sent it back but it was returned with most of the original beef still on the plate with an extra cut of beef which was just as bad. By far the worst dinner I have paid for and will not return

My go to place to eat for cheap and cheerful

Eat the mac & cheese recently and it was bland despite bring drowned in cheese. Only worth it for the drinks really.
