I went to this venue for a special evening to see some singers. Tickets were bought in advance. We arrived on time to find the place packed and no seats. People were standing, even blocking exits. There were too many tickets sold for safety and the bar staff couldn't cope well .

Attended an 80s disco here this week. Got there for 7pm for when the “doors opened”. All tables were taken so our group of 6 friends had to stand all night. We paid £10 for our tickets which was a total rip off. Some of us left early as had been on our feet all day as teachers and would have appreciated a sit down. When we arrived there was no warm welcome. The owner appeared rude when questioning whether we had tickets and clearly didn’t believe us as he side glanced to his colleague. I wouldn’t recommend attending any events at this venue. They don’t have enough space or seats and it was rammed. Must be a health and safety risk I’d say.

Attended the 1980s disco on Friday night. Very poorly organised. Not enough seating, they sold too many tickets for the size of the venue. The singers were good but there just wasn't enough space. Waste of time and money.

This is a lovely little spot. We went there to hear some local music and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Drinks were very good, if a bit pricier than in other pubs and restaurants in the area. We didn't eat but the food being served to other customers looked very appetising.

From a distance, seeing a seaside building with a hatch for fish & chips, I misjudged this restaurant. Hands up, I couldn't have been further off the mark. We were made to feel welcome by every staff member we spoke with. The children's menu was fairly priced and had a good range of options if your child wants a change from chicken nuggets and chips. My son had the bolognese. It's one of only a handful of times I've ever seen him enjoy a meal out. I had chips, again, reasonably priced and good quality. Food came out quick, fair price, tasted good. Happy customer! I hope this review helps improve what I consider an undeserved low-to-middling rating.

The worst fish and chips I’ve had in a while - small, flat fish with terrible batter and hard tasteless chips! For the price I’d expect better. Service was also very slow - with only 1 person serving and making barista coffees. I wouldn’t mind this so much if the quality of the food was better.

I had heard about this cafe from friends and decided to give it a go after a chilly walk along the beach. The cafe is near the boating lake in Tynemouth and near a play park and In the summer months there is a large inflatable close by. The welcome was friendly and he cafe lovely and warm. It is dog friendly which was a bonus. I only had eggs and beans on toast but it was served quickly and hot. There is however, a fairly extensive menu to suit all tastes. The coffee was delicious. I will definitely return.

We have visited today after a walk on the beach we had a wet sandy dog with us but was still welcomed with open arms (well behaved dog allowed downstairs) had coffee and cake which was amazing but my far the best part of our visit was the customer service we received from a lovley lady called Deborah. On sitting and eating she continued to give the same amazing customer service to everyone that followed us through the door just how you should be treated wherever you go so thank you Deborah you are a real credit to the business 😁

Visited for coffee and lunch. Dreadful. Terrible weak coffee wanted me to pay £4.40 for a coffee with an extra shot this would have only made you able to taste coffee. Lots of lovely places in Whitley Bay. Avoid

We have been very frequent customers to this cafe over the last 4 years. You’d think that would count for something. You’d think that they’d smile and be pleasant at a familiar face. Instead they look almost disgusted to see me. Like ‘what you doing here?’ Type of face. My partner and I visited recently with our two grandchildren for a warm up and a cuppa. They charge for baby chinos - this usually involves milk, a sprinkle of chocolate and some marshmallows on the side £2.40. Well, this time they didn’t give the kids marshmallows - so I asked and was told that this wasn’t the norm. It has been every single other time I have visited over four years. But with a face like a slapped backside, she said she’d get some. They brought over about 8 mini marshmallows for the kids each and the card machine. 60p extra for marshmallows. Honestly, I was astonished! Their tiny cup of cappuccino / americano is the same price as others charge for a large. We’d spent £15 ! So it might sound harsh, but coupled with their unfriendly nature and the expensive small drinks , I’m going elsewhere. In the summer we spend at least £100 weekly there - and visit 4/5 times a week. To not acknowledge that and give some babies a few marshmallows , is just pathetic. Rude, aggressive staff. Overcharging. No need !
