Great local pub that Loves the halloween vibes as much as I love it. Highly recommended. Support that pub!

Unfortunately the cake we ordered for our daughter’s first birthday was very disappointing! It was meant to be a victoria sponge but there was no jam inside. The cake tasted awful and was underbaked in some parts and over-baked in others. The icing work was also quite rough. It’s a shame as the customer service was good and they made an effort to add personal details to the cake. I wouldn’t order from here again and neither would anyone who tasted the cake at my daughter’s party. For £125 you would expect a lot better, especially as one tier out of the two was fake. Never again!

I recently visited The Red Lion and loved their cosy atmosphere, especially the fireplace corner that's perfect for colder evenings. I've added it to my barguide.london site too!

The food was so disappointing that we couldn't eat it. We ordered lamb shawarma and chicken shish tawook, but both dishes were inedible. The shawarma was extremely dry and tasted as if it was three days old, while the shish tawook was equally unappetising and had a strange, unpleasant flavour. To top it off, both dishes came with a side of sliced yellow onions, which only added to our distaste. It honestly felt like the entire meal had been heated in the microwave. Overall, a very unsatisfactory experience.

Part of our order was a blueberry and strawberry smoothie. No other ingredients were listed on the menu board. My son and I watched the staff member make it and the main ingredient was apple juice. Like a lot of apple juice. Then a small bag of frozen blueberries and strawberries were put into the blender. We commented to each other as the smoothie was being made that it seemed like a lot of apple juice to put into a blueberry and strawberry smoothie. Sure enough, the smoothie looked and tasted like an apple slush. It was the colour of apple juice and we couldn’t taste any blueberries or strawberries. I took it back to the counter and told the girl who had made it about the issue and she went and got a woman who was apparently the manager/owner. I told her about the problem and she said, “Yes, it’s because we make it with apple juice”. Now, faced with logic like that I should have realised I would get nowhere with this woman. I said, “Yes, I know that. We watched as it was being made. But it tastes only like apple juice, nothing else”. She said again, “Yes that’s because we make it with apple juice. But we put a small bag of fruit in there”. Again, I told her, yes I know, we watched it as it was being made. She said, “That’s the way it is. You can have it or you can have your money back”. I got our money back and my son decided he would try a vanilla milkshake. It wasn’t very good either. Artificial vanilla and very sweet and syrupy. Avoid. Horrible slushes, I mean smoothies. Horrible customer service.

Easily the best pub in Kensington and now with the relatively new management it's got even better. The manager is very conscientious about customer service and handels it with a professional calm manor. The staff behind the bar and in the kitchen are by far the best in any pub I have been to never mind Kensington. I've never seen so many staff for the size of the bar ( I could mention much larger pubs in the area that have only one staff which drives me crazy). Food is on point and now they are doing Sunday roast which are perfect for size, quality and value. The chef is always trying to improve the recipes and you can tell he really cares about being the best he can at his job. The location is the best. Tucked away in a residential street, so quiet and yet a minutes walk to the high street and tube station. It's a very traditional pub and very cosy. Huge range of characters from all over the world drink and eat here. 100 % my favourite place to go.

A lovely pub but unfortunately ruined by the rude staff behind the bar after I found a little fly in the ice in my drink and also 2 ants in my whisky and cola. I flagged this to the staff and they were as rude to say that I put these in the drink myself.
