I came down to see my son and it seems he’s doing very well now, I will have to call down again and collect some of the stuff I NEED to collect. Keep it up

These people were so lovely! We unwittingly came to a pre-match meeting of the London Reds before a Sutton-Wrexham match. (Sutton lost.) But they were welcoming and kind. Fantastic steak and ale pie. Good selection of ales.

This being literally 5 minutes from us and recently being refurbished we really hoped it would be good. Firstly the decor and atmosphere were good the staff we're actually very friendly and the pub was generally clean. Here's the bad part we booked for Sunday roast my wife and 2 of our children hoping that the food would be nice. I'm afraid it wasn't the meat with the roast was very tuff like chewing a leather boot the potatoes were absolutely cremated and the veg was bland and had no taste whatsoever. We ordered a pizza for our youngest which was literally a tortilla wrap with sauce and cheese on i was shocked. I've eaten in pretty much every pub in and around sutton and this is by far the worst which was a real shame for us as like I said is 5 minutes away and we could have had a nice regular place to eat on Sundays. Again a real shame as if the food was good here, the place I think would be absolutely packed on Sundays as the pub itself is really nice. Great place for drinks just don't bother with the food.

Most gastropubs don’t come close to the level of food served here. Tacos were incredible and the southern fried chicken is leagues ahead of anything I’ve had for some time. Not often I’m genuinely taken aback so very well done to the Robin Hood!

Not tried the food but they have a good selection of draught and nice looking pub with cozy outdoor area

Been here a few times for both drinks, food and NYE. Drinks - fine selection - always a nice white chilled pinot on the go and never feel stung by high prices 👍 NYE - A great night! Danced for about 5 hours straight. The locals/regulars are all super friendly and chatty when you walk in and some like a good boogie which is a bonus 🕺 Staff - staff are great. Friendly and chatty people. You never have to wait long to be served even when busy. It's a real well run pub. The chef is a genius. Food - A must try. Freshly prepared food by a brilliant chef - huge portions (for me, anyway but I am very small!) - absolutely beautiful, mouth-watering food - even my very particular daughter agreed! Landlords - I've been recently lucky enough to get to know Steve and Claire a little better since they became landlords. They are good, honest, no nonsense, wonderful people. They really care about their community and bringing people together and make sure people enjoy themselves and forget about life's challenges and stresses when they walk through their doors. You're always greeted well and it's one of few pubs I can comfortably walk in, as a woman on my own, and feel safe and confident in, which is so important these days. All in all, there is no better, friendlier pub in Sutton with reasonably priced food and drink. I couldn't recommend it more highly. I really need to go and have brunch there - am looking forward to that!

This is a great pub that sits off Sutton High street so was nowhere near as busy as some in the High street. It is bright and clean. Bar staff were friendly and a good choice of beers, larger and ciders. There are two dart boards and as we left a band was setting up. We didn't eat there so unable to comment.

Came here with friends on 13th Jan to see a live band which were excellent and so glad I did, the pub however was a different story - when we first walked up the outside was covered in discarded cigarette butts and left over takeaway rubbish, half the planters were dead and ashtrays overflowing, we met our group they told us there was only one bar maid on all night -a few red flags already! Then the post mix ran out so could only buy bottles with as mixers, though looking at my spend the next morning I’m sure we were still only being charged for post mix (so 5* on that one) then the options began to dwindle on the options as full fat coke ran out, not good for us as a group of persnickety gits like us who are fussy about our mixer. We were contemplating leaving after the first half of the set but decided to stick it and honestly glad we did, firstly the band, Sorted for cheese and Fizz, was excellent, 90s Britpop & indie music (my era) and the real reason we went in the first place, and the only reason I’m giving this a 3* was the staff, now I was a pub manager for 20 years so this comment comes from experience, the barmaid was alone and working her backside off to do her job, and did a superb effort, yes we had to wait but not her fault and she faced everyone with a smile and every challenge head on like an expert, then there’s the chef who as soon as she finished in the kitchen came straight to bar and helped and again did an excellent job, i later found out she had started work at 7am and was still punching it at midnight (no doubt she’s back there Sunday morning to prep Roasts) and I don’t think it fair to not mention who I believe was the cleaner who sat there polishing and wrapping cutlery and collecting glasses (not her job) in order to lend a hand. These 3 team members should be extremely proud of their achievement that night and are a great asset to that business, the manager should both be ashamed and embarrassed about the situation he left his team in, it was also brought to light that he hadn’t even told the bar maid that there was a band on that night - terrible behaviour for a manger - all those that work or have worked in this trade know that in this situation you put your pub and customers first, pull up your sleeves and get on that bar and work! Serious questions need to be asked here. Well done to those working that helped us enjoy our night, you did yourselves proud.

Came in for an evening to watch some football, was pleasantly surprised by their food! Great value and a delicious burger.

We went here for Christmas Day. Never again awful. Took 2 hours to get food. So small one slice of chicken two roast potatoes. We left without even having pudding. Terrible £80 ahead kids £40 there food awful to.

The family and me came here on Christmas and it was just great. The atmosphere; the drinks and everything in between. Loved it!

The food was very poor. I learnt that their chef had left, what a shame. Mundane over priced pub food that’s pretending to be upmarket. There’s no real feeling to the place as it was empty. While I was there only two people came in.

Friendly place prior to the Sutton v Horsham game. Could have had more staff earlier as one person serving meant a bit of a wait at the bar but sorted by the time the pub started to really fill up. Very spacious and welcoming.

Great live music with Nuno ess it was great night

There is lots to like about this pub. Three ales on and all in good condition. Made two visits about two hours apart on Saturday, and yet in that time the soap dispenser in the gents was still empty.

Took a party of 8 for Sunday lunch, must say great food and great value, good portion sizes, and plenty of meat. all served together, nice and hot. Will definitely go again

Very disappointing. Family Sunday dinner. Beef was tough, vegetables cold and undercooked. Two pieces of roast potato and spoonful of mash acceptable as was the yorkie. I don’t think our complaint was taken seriously. Sadly, I really was hoping to support this pub but the staff seem completely disinterested.

Excellent pub, really trying to improve the night life in sutton, with life drawing, quizes, open mic nights. A good selection of food friendly staff and a well decorated interior, a must try if you are in the area.

Came here for the first time tonight for their weekly Monday quiz. It was a good night - the quiz was different but great fun, pub is clean and lovely, very friendly atmosphere and the new owners were very welcoming. They told me about their various plans - got a very good Freddy Mercury tribute on 7 Oct and open Mike nights starting Thursdays. I’ll be back again. A friend had some food and really liked it 😀

Had an excellent Sunday roast here. All cooked fresh and good sized portions. I had roast duo, with beef and chicken. Very tasty. The pub staff were excellent once we'd made a move to the bar to ask for a menu. I would suggest they make it clear how it works for lunch as there were 5 of us in our party and we'd booked a table ahead. We expected we may have been offered menus etc. However, once we knew the lie of the land and spoke with the staff, everyone was excellent. It was quite quiet for a Sunday but we were told it is under new management and they are trying to rebuild the pub's reputation. Wish them the best as they were genuinely nice people and deserve success.

Went on a Monday night, good chilled atmosphere and vibe. The interior is nice, very relaxed and well done. Did the quiz which was well presented by a young woman. Nice pub, I would recommend it.

Visited today - the Landlord is lovely as are all the staff. Great roast at a very reasonable price - can’t wait to come back soon!

I came here today for work.... Friendly, popular local pub The new Landlady Claire / landlord Steve who took over 8 weeks ago seem very nice people. Refurbished last year this beautiful pub was serving up some lovely looking food. I was met be Claire, very welcoming and really friendly. The place looks great after the refurbishment. It's got sports on the TV's with dining and seating areas out front and to the rear. It has a mid sized function room upstairs with some tables and chairs, this room also has a small bar. You'll have to ask one of them for more information on maybe using this for moms clubs and such or for celebrating 🤗 It has a Dart board and a huge selection of drinks... It looks a nice place for locals to relax and unwind. Best of luck with the new pub guys

New management have lifted this place, very friendly couple offering a warm welcome and a good pint. If your in the area give them a visit.

Great few hours in the pub, the young lady serving behind the bar was really lovely and helpful, great little find in Sutton

We was recommended to give the Robin Hood a try a while back , as we were told it was under new management and the food (especially the roasts) were exceptional. Upon our 1st visit , the place had clearly had a very decent make over , the staff were welcoming and the food was above average pub food - my husband and I had the beef burger and it was delicious. It had been a while since our initial visit , so we suggested to a few family members to meet up for a roast dinner here. After being told how popular the roasts are , I booked our table online with 2 high chairs as a requirement. When we arrived , it took a while to find someone to acknowledge my existence- eventually found a young guy (probably 16-17) mentioned that we had reserved and he said I would have to ask his mum. She happened to be serving people at the bar - so I mentioned our table reservation and she just blankly stared at me , shrugging her shoulders and said ‘well sit where you like’ . This meant that me and the family had to move tables and chairs to accommodate our party size, we have young children , so wasn’t ideal. We eventually sat down and we all ordered the roast dinner. Food arrived not long after we ordered - but only mine and my sister in laws . 10 minutes passed , my husband went to the bar and asked the same woman where our food was, as it would of been nice to of all eaten together - she then said that another order came in after ours , so it meant that the new order took priority over serving the rest of our food - I’m still now trying to figure out her logic - but on the thoughts of - lets not be rude just in case our food is abused before it gets to the table , we shut our mouths and waited a further 10 minutes, by this point my sister in law and I had finished our food. The food was ok , blatantly frozen potatoes and stuffing balls and the chicken was very dry - not worth the £14 each we was charged. The toilets also needed a bit of attention as there was no soap in the dispenser and the cold taps didn’t work either. It’s a real shame we had this experience as our first visit was great - on this occasion the staff , especially the lady at the bar , were clearly not meant for a customer facing job , as her attitude and lack of apology for the poor service made it a very unwelcoming afternoon for us. Therefore I can’t say we will bother coming here again.

Went for dinner mid April with friends and a lady who appeared to be on something was frantically running around and getting our order wrong. Talking to some guy at the bar rather than fix our drinks. The food finally came out after she managed to operate the till and the food was great. But if I wanted to be served thisnpoorly I would have gibe to a 5 guys

They have a new chef and it shows. I can’t remember having a better Sunday lunch anywhere. The meat was cooked to perfection and the vegetables had flavour - obviously not boiled or frozen. The pork was so tender!

Awful experience on mothers Day. Wait for food was 3 hours, and then the chef walked out, so we ended up with no main meal. It's such a shame as the place has been done up. The starters we got was poor as was tiny portions.

Good food and reasonably priced

Not sure if the kitchen was having a bad day as the food was not good and all. The lobster mac & cheese was lukewarm and had no king prawns in like the menu states. The prawns where so small, they was hard to find. The lasagne was lukewarm too and not tasty at all. The pie pastry wasn’t cooked through, it was very doughy. The mixed grill just looked like all the food was thrown on the plate and did not look appetising at all. We ate the food as we were hungry and had a long wait, but were very disappointed. I have messaged the person I booked the table through to let him know but this was not even acknowledged. We like to support local business but won’t be going back and won’t be recommending them to anyone.

Last time it was a five star review, this time I’ve been waiting 2 hours for lunch (Morhers Day) and no food or apology. Staff seem to not care. Definitely don’t come here on a busy occasion because they can’t cope. After 90 mins starters turned up and ‘a selection of breads’ with mine turned out to be rock hard white bread.

Under new management. Drag queen last night then DJ after. Played fab music. Danced my socks off. Great atmosphere had a really good night and lovely staff.

Got to the pub for 2pm table for 4 . Had to go to the bar to order lunch and drinks (no problem) . Had to get our own napkins and cutlery , salt and pepper pots filthy. When we did eventually get our food it was delicious . Then ordered desert again the longest wait ever. Pub was very busy. Only 3 staff working who were run off their feet. Got out of there at 4.40. If you don’t mind the long wait go else where !!!

Very nice since the revamp and lovely new landlord

We visited yesterday as we wanted to have lunch in a dog friendly establishment. They had water and dog treats for the puppy (cute touch) We had a selection of starters which were amazing, followed by some mains, off the the pub selection. They all tasted lovely and good value for money. The pub is really clean and fresh, with a lovely atmosphere. We were recommended this place via Facebook group and will be visiting again.

Had a lovely family birthday dinner here. Delicious and varied menu, friendly bar staff. We'll be back!

You can go and a for something to eat at your local then this is the place to go and eat plus a social drink

We visited this pub on Saturday 7th Jan in the evening, it was quite empty, iasked for a Gordon's dry gin. The lad picked up pink gin. We ordered food, and it was on the table in 10 minutes, l don't think this could have been cooked in 10 minutes, l ordered hunters chicken which came on a board, my husband ordered a burger with pulled beef, the pulled beef was slightly warm. I will not be eating here again.

We live close by, we've noticed the pub has changed hands a few times so we decided to check it out for a Sunday family lunch meal. We booked in advance online for a four person reservation. On arrival we were presented with a tall table. Given we were two adults and two 6 year olds, the chairs were somewhat inappropriate for the kids given they couldn't touch the floor or the foot rests. I didn't make a fuss about it but it would have been nice if the staff accomodated with a normal level table (there were plenty to go spare). The food was good. The prices were the usual range (between £10 and £20). The decor/refurb looks lovely - it definitely has that upmarket gastro pub look to it. There was a minor mixup with the kids dessert - one of the kids' desserts came and it was quite large. The staff referred to it as a 'sharing' dessert but when my partner wanted to verify whether it was the kids dessert and if we were being billed as such, the initial reaction from the staff member was "That's what HE ordered" pointing to me. Given I ordered earlier and was there, watching this staff member press the kids menu dessert option button I didn't take kindly to a) the accusatory tone and b) the general direction it was going. My partner was being polite. I was generally easy-going. We don't need drama - it's Sunday, the weather's nice, let's calm down a bit. In fact there wasn't really a blame to be had since from what I understand we were provided with a larger dessert for what appears to have been a kids dessert price. I say this, but I can't be sure since I was never offered a receipt each time I ordered something. To be fair to them, they came back and provided us with a refund which would have covered the cost of the dessert. This was nice but I still thought the whole episode was a bit souring. Generally the staff weren't that welcoming, the one I dealt with most wasn't aggressive but wasn't friendly either. There wasn't a feeling of "thanks for spending your Sunday here with us, we'll make it worth your while" - it was more "I don't really want to be here. Now what is it I need to do for you?". They also didn't have answers to some of my questions and need to 'ask inside'. Speaking of which, some kids cutlery would have been a nice touch. Maybe it was their first day on the job and they were slightly nervous - fair enough. There were loads of board games and things which kept the kids happy. We ate well generally. The table next to us was occupied by some potty mouthed lads. Given we're in a pub you've got to expect it, but using the f*£$ word every sentence was a bit much with youngsters about. Hey ho, it's life experience for the kids I guess. The Robin Hood has got good points, it's got bad points. Personally, I find Sutton has plenty of options for a Sunday family meal and so we probably won't be coming back.

I am very disappointed with the service. I say this as a non-English person. they spilled my beer everywhere, I've been waiting 40 minutes for my order. I was treated very badly. Whatever. At least the food was delicious.

Young’s branded pub without any Young’s beer on. Landlord and Doomed Bar only. Early Saturday evening, no food available and frosty staff. Not improved, just gone back to how it used to be.

This pub has changed management. The atmosphere was great and the staff very helpful and friendly. Service was excellent. Now onto the food. I ordered a mix grill. Gammon- bit rubbery. Steak- bit tough to cut with a normal knife and rubbery. Sausage, eggs? chips, chicken wing, homemade coleslaw, peas and corn on the cob was great so would recommend these elements. Food arrived hot. I would definitely recommend.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly and helpful team, food was delicious and nicely presented 👌 They have a fab Festive menu from 16 Nov.

This is a regulars pub. Dissapointed.... 2 months ago I booked an area by the dart boards for a celebration for 30 people. I checked 3 times to make sure we would definitely have that area that Jee promised we would have. Sadly, again the old regulars that frequent daily were given the area and we were awkwardly dotted arround on the other side. I was told they booked and learned they didn't. I was excited for the new owners and refurb. But unfortunately this pub and each new owner continue to cater to the regulars that drink in there every single day. To clarify 28 people attended. Birthday girl was asked twice by the same person for ID.

After the pub was renovated it is actually quite nice and cosy. It needed this renovation. And it certainly has an amazing staff now!

We asked for it to be cooked again and it was brought back but the meat was still inedible We told them this but we’re not offered any sort of apology The older lady behind the bar was repeatedly rude to us and the atmosphere was unpleasant I was ignored and left standing at the bar while she chatted to a colleague I won’t be returning

A real gem of a pub great atmosphere friendliest staff. Used to use this pub regularly but was not great, heard some good feedback so decided to try again. We went in as a family of 9 all had different meals from the menu. All meals were enjoyed. We enjoyed so much that we booked for the next day. We had 2 beef roasts, absolutely amazing home cooking and such large portions for a very good price. Recommend to book Sunday roasts. Can’t wait to go back.

First time here and have to say the pub is clean family friendly and has a nice atmosphere. The Sunday Beef roast I and my Mrs had was exceptional, I recommend whole heartedly, will be back soon 9/10

Had a very enjoyable roast dinner today....only criticism is, I think the roast potatoes were roasted new potatoes, rather than proper roast potatoes, but other than that, very nice.😋 All the bar staff/ waiting staff were very friendly and, as it's probably quite a 'locals' pub,found the locals very friendly,and never felt like an outsider...would definitely recommend, and will definitely be coming back.....never know....might even become one of the locals!!😁

Honestly I have lived 50m from this pub for over 20 years. I have been in from time to time but never went back because in the “old days” it had a locals only feel with older generation who had been going for years and would stare are the foreign folks walking in. The there wasn’t always food served because of issues with a chef. I don’t just sit drinking in a pub so that didn’t work and would land up at All Bar One. I am happy to say that the new landlords are amazing and friendly and so welcoming. They even made me a cocktail that was off menu. The food was good, I enjoyed it and so did my friends who I had invited along to give it a try. I will definitely be back. The renovation is amazing it’s a lovely looking bar. It smells and looks fresh. So happy to have a local I want to go to.

A great canny pub that wouldn't be out of place up North

They've had a little refurbishment since I last visited, which was well before Covid. Very pleasant. A quiet drink with a few friends on a Weds eve. Good selection of beers. Nice Guiness. Good friendly service. Local pubs like this are vanishing, let's hope this outpost of Sutton's heritage stays the long course.

That London continuously surprises me, I'm currently in the London borough of Sutton sat in a pub that wouldn't be out of place in any northern street of my youth. Fantastic old school vibe amazing selection of beers chilled tunes, perfect for a wet Monday night working away. Thanks guys top nosh.

Lovely Pub, with a lot of seating options. Friendly, efficient staff who are happy to serve. Nice vibe from the staff made the experience very pleasant.

Very nice and quiet pub in Sutton. Several options for beers and food as well. You can also play darts in this pub. Nice atmosphere in a classic pub

I haven't been here for years but when I visited at the beginning of the month, it was lovely. Nice service and refurbished to a great standard. With covid, it wasn't busy either which is nice if you don't want to mix with loads of unknown people! Seats were spread out. Excellent and I will be going back
