The Whispering Moon in Sutton

Popped in for a large brekkie this morning, super tastey! Got a few odd looks from regulars but that was probably socks and sandals on a rainy morning lol. Breakfast was hot and plenty of bean juice, I always find you don’t get in enough in weatherspoons, toast was a little underdone but the butter was spreadable and the eggs juicy how I like them. Bacon nice and crispy and not as anaemic as the Sutton branch. Toilets were clean and tidy which was also a pleasant surprise. Only suggestion is a nice grapefruit juice to go with the breakfast then it would have been a perfect start to the day

Been here a couple times now food has been excellent special mention to the kitchen manager Siobhan I think it is, will deffo be returning 10/10 would highly recommend

Staff were very friendly, and the food was great. Only thing that's not quiet my cup of tea is the decor, as it's very old school pub style, which is what weather spoons pubs generally go with tbh.

Must have been a bad day. Everything I tried to order was 'out of stock'. In the end it was easier to ask "what HAVE you got?" then chise from there. Tables were dirty (but it was the lunch time rush I suppose).

We popped in for a couple of drinks and some dinner. Standard wetherspoons fare, however it is cheap and cheerful. That being said the food itself was good.

Not as fancy as Sutton spoons but it does exactly what it says on the tin... Serve drinks at affordable prices. A pint of Leffe and a packet of crisps... £5.35

Fantastic value for money! The food was lovely and the drinks are so cheap. Welcoming atmosphere from the staff and the punters. Clean tables and toilets which I always struggled to find in the croydon wetherspoons

I have been coming to this pub for over 20 years now, and although staff have regularly changed over the years, I just have to say that this is such an amazing pub with the best atmosphere. Have had so many good nights here, and although recently there was one pesty punter, the manager that night was on the ball and got him to leave calmly. I always feel safe in there. Staff are always friendly (in over 20 years had no issues) and food what can I say it is delicious! I've always found the service to be top notch too. Never have had any issues myself. Defo our long time favourite wallington pub! We will forever return 😊

Visited this pub today for the 1st time. It was busy but the atmosphere was wonderful. The food and drinks are priced great. The staff were very friendly and very helpful with my deciding on what to order to eat. I will definitely be coming back.

Extremely slow. Took 25 minutes to get table cleaned. 35 minutes for my drink to be served! Still waiting For my food to arrive. A random guy sat at my table, took so long for him to receive his food he had vacated the table, hence why he returned to a table I was now sitting in. He ended up getting his meal put in a take away box because he had to leave. They must be drastically understaffed. Only saw 2 on the floor. Plus a punter was looking for a fight with anyone who would bite. I came once before, wasn't that bad before. Needless to say I won't be back. And staff are very rude.

Good value for money. I always love the chicken wings with blue cheese dip, BUT on this occasion, the chicken wings fell well below the usual standards. If you are on a budget, then you can't beat Wetherspoons for a fair, priced meal and drink.

Friendly staff and the atmosphere is well and clean establishment. The manager Mark is awesome dude and doing his best customer service. Love that place it’s my second time here.

Waited for ages. Try and get your money back for bad service or bad food. NO CHANCE! This is fundamentally WRONG

Ordered breakfast, unfortunately. Sent back because eggs were hard, and the hash brown looked like the oil either needed cleaning or slightly overcooked. Unfortunately, when I it came back, it was not much better, which was a shame because the price was quite good a full refund was given. The customer service was good at the table the usual wait at bar though. The atmosphere was not bad just what you have come to expect from a witherspoons . But definitely not bad.

Busy place as usual. The staff member Joe was very helpful yesterday 18th afternoon.

Due to circumstances beyond their control, there was one member of staff in the kitchen and only 2 to serve drinks and run food, but they did an absolutely fantastic job of keeping everything under control and not allowing queues to build up at the bar.

Went to Whispering Moon today with my husband and 2 kids hoping to have a lovely breakfast. I ordered an Egg Benedict. I was served with overcooked almost like hard boiled eggs and it was so dry with no hollandaise sauce. Was very disappointed with it and kindly asked the waiter to replace the eggs with poached eggs. While getting his coffee, my husband then witnessed the chef and waiter quarrelling about the eggs behind the counter. To his shock he saw the chef replace the eggs with his hands and then touched the eggs to check if they were soft...disgusting. If that wasn't enough, the chef then opened his mouth wide and and exhaled/breathed all over the plate, it was disgusting what my husband witnessed right in front of his eyes of what happens to our food when it's returned, almost like he spat on the food. He confronted the chef that it was his food and to that he explained "oh, I was just pretending to eat it coz I love eggs". My husband asked him to bin that plate coz we won't be eating it in spite of having already paid for it. I was furious when he told me and wanted to complain but my husband asked me not to escalate the matter as we were with our kids and they were eating their meal. Such a shocking experience, never witnessed what happens at the back. Will never be going back here again and pls think twice before you return your plate...you never know what the staff do our food to show their anger and frustration.

The manager said I couldn’t have any more drinks as ‘I was too drunk’ when I’d only had 3 by that point. He didn’t even have the spine to tell me, he went to my mates girlfriend, then she came n told me. On top of that he was being weird to her in the same night as well. Granted I was being loud but I don’t go pub often and was a mates birthday as well, of course imma be hyped. I just think the manager didn’t like my shirt or how fresh I was that night to be honest.

It's weatherspoons, cheap and cheerful and cheaper than sutton

I ordered five chicken fillets and they gave me four ,and after asking for sauces they gave me attitude and when I asked if it said five or four on the menu they said it had five and when they came to give me one chicken fillet they dropped it on to the plate with so much attitude it was hard to ignore that this was bc I had asked for what they were offering,would go back ,wouldn’t order food again given that they clearly have a problem with giving what’s advertised

A pretty average Spoons, with only a couple of guest ales on during my visit, one of which was mediocre quality, so I'm guessing the ale drinkers in here are not that discerning. Cheap as chips, although I didn't try the chips. Young staff, typically preoccupied with their own gossip, but still friendly.

:Date 18/01/2024, time :20.04 A short lady with black hair with blond/gold highlighted hair (shift manager) was very rude to me when I requested a glenfidich WISKEY to be served in a WISKEY glasss she was very rude saying “we don’t do WISKEY glasses here” very loud leading the whole crowd to look and stair at us as if we did something wrong. Very very bad customer service just 18 days into the new year and so frustrated staff providing below standard service.

Food fish and chips were excellent. It was early Friday lunchtime. Easy go get a booth staff asked if we enjoyed our meal good service .

Generic suburban Spoons, good-value food

Went for a weekend dinner. It’s like a heritage pub! There were lot of daily visitors having there usual drinks and chat. I went for fish and chips, which was really delicious. The best fish and chips i have ever had. There was no delay in getting the food delivered too. Drink was also 👍🏻 The taste of fish is haunting me 😋 My try of this pub was worth!!!!!

Always enjoy a wetherspoons. Like the look and location of this particular pub. I mostly have a breakfast and tea or coffee

My friend and I had the fish and chips, and as we ate between 2 and 5 p.m., we only had to pay £7.99. This included a soft drink each. Lovely, large piece of cod chips and peas . Excellent value. Will return to Wetherspoons.

Tuesday afternoon the pub was packed, despite this the drinks ordered came in good time, the food I ordered took a little longer, but the cutlery was warm, the plates were warm and more Importantly, the all day brunch was hot and freshly cooked . The staff were friendly 2

It is located in Wallington just near the train station. It's a spoons, so it's a range of food and drinks, good meal prices too.

A mate & I had a bit of time to kill so popped in for a pint. At just £1.77 you couldn’t grumble at the price of Greene King IPA. It was 1990’s prices!

I came here with a couple of friends for drinks and some food , the service was great the waitress maya was very polite and helping with advising us what to order. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun atmosphere!!

Great pub. Great staff, particularly Daisy and Jon, when they're on together. Can't fault the place.

Ordered a breakfast for four diners after ten minutes two breakfasts appeared with two items missing from each plate, knife to be used for breakfast still had remnants of egg from previous use,waited five minutes for rest of order nothing happened, went to bar to find the order wasn't taken correctly, returned to table food was now cold waited another fifteen minutes finally the last two breakfasts arrived with missing items from one plate compared to the other,spoke to the waitress who took and served the order she then brought back the items missing from the three earlier breakfasts although by now two of us had finished breakfast by now twenty minutes ago, seemed to think that took care of the problem. Laughable.

Good food and drink on affordable prices

The food is, as you would expect, on a par with any other Wetherspoons (no issues). The staff and service were friendly (which wasn't how I found it a few years ago). A few of the customers were a noise nuisance and seemed to think they were still 12 years old and travelling on the back seats of the bus with their phone "toons" (the downside of Wetherspoons cheap pricing!) :D Perfectly safe though (just annoying) and can't blame the pub for that really! Most of the beers were showing available in the app, and I had no issues with any of the ones we ordered. The decor is the traditional old Wetherspoons style - a bit dated-looking and on the dark side, but probably fine for the customer base in Wallington so I doubt the chain will bother refurbishing it any time soon given the cheap and cheerful nature of the offering.

As like most other Wetherspoon pubs, they offer very good real ales and some not so good, plus other beers, lagers and lots of other types of beverages as well as food. Unlike a lot of pubs, which charge a small fortune for their wears, Wetherspoons on the other hand, their drinks and food are often less than half the price of all the others, their food is often good pub food with a reasonable choice, as well as serving vegetarian dishes.

Went in for a quick lunch and we liked it definitely. The USP of a wetherspoon is the value for money it provides in a period restaurant cum pub setting and this was no different. We ordered seamlessly on the app and was served swiftly with a smile. People around us seemed very jovial and friendly and obviously seem as regulars. The menu option is diverse and better than many other spoons.

Good as any regular spoons. Staff and service is nice. Fridays may tend to get too busy and rough so I avoid going on Fridays.

Much nicer than your typical Spoons. Friendly staff, plenty of space, and not the usual weirdos.

Had a few drinks in here many times, food too. Today I had a cider and a burger and chips. As I was finishing my chips I was shocked to be joined by a mouse which ran out from under the radiator by table 26, across the floor and under the legs of the table opposite to hide, presumably waiting to finish the chips off after I left. Shocked and disappointed, first time I have ever seen a mouse in a pub or restaurant that serves food in the UK. I reported it to the bar staff who said they would tell the manager, I hope so as it has certainly put me off eating in there again.

It's a spoons. Exactly what you'd expect

Standard spoons. Good selection of alcoholic as well as soft drinks. Have never been able to fault the food. Added bonus for this wetherspoons is that the toilets are on the same floor and you don't have to walk through a maze to get to any. Occasional sports and news being played on the TV within the main seating area.

Went Saturday lunchtime, busy but food and drink arrived swiftly. Not much more you can say it's a Wetherspoon.

Spoons Specific Rating: 4/5 Stars Drinks (£/£££££): As spoons go this is generally a cheaper one. I was paying £2.78 a pint of Abbot in the Wimbledon venue where it was not even £2.30 here and it was racked & tapped perfectly. Couple bottles of wine and a few shorts & I still had change. Food(££/£££££): 10 BBQ wings which were not lathered in slimey sauce like your local chicken shop, tender & tasty. Staff: Friendly, Accommodating & Urgent to serve. SIDENOTE: I asked for some spray and blueroll so I could wipe down as I quickly jumped on as it busy & recently vacated, staff dropped everything & insisted they do it. Prime location opposite a station and cab service with a high-street surrounding.

This was the first time in here with a few friends. The pub needs a bit of revamp. The drink prices are great and the food was OK. The staff on the day looked not too happy. If in the area will visit mainly for the drinks. I had the steak and chips which was mediocre and the portions were small as well.

Always come here had a steak tonight it was better then that overated dive Miller and Carter

Only passed through this Weatherspoon by chance. The young lady who was working there is a credit to you. Very polite and helpful. Under pressure because of being short staffed, but she was great.

It's a bit dirty,and hard to get a drink,the staff are nice and seem to work very hard,in my opinion it is understaffed and chaotic.

It’s a spoons so perfect for a couple of cheap drinks. However it is one of the smallest that I’ve been in so not many seats/tables. More for the locals/regulars who spend the day having a liquid breakfast/lunch/dinner.

Pretty decent Wetherspoons. Friendly staff and seemed cleaner than some others I’ve been to. Kid friendly for the most part but you do hear some colourful language from time to time - it is a pub after all 🙂
