The Moon on the Hill in Sutton

The Moon on the Hill is a lovely Wetherspoon's. Its wood decor with comfy seating gives the place a homely feel whilst not losing the public house feeling. The staff are friendly and approachable. The variety of food and drinks available means that there will be something for everyone and the seasonal menus are definitely worth going back for.

Nice place for a reasonable priced breakfast

Absolutely great food only problem is that they don't serve Sunday roasts anymore.

Busy place , service is good but food often awful, no care taken in prep , often cold parts of the meal. Disabled toilet is a disgrace, stinks 😩 and dirty. Ladies was out of order. They just don't care enough, probably have difficulty in keeping staff.

Recently (23/01)my female friend that was alone went for food. She was approached by 3 males who became abusive to her. The management knew the men and even though the female expressed her feelings it was met with a negative response. The verbiage that was used towards the female was unacceptable and still no one supported her. She felt alone and vulnerable. How dare they in this day treat a female like that. She was asked to leave even though there were 3 men targeting her this way. Disgusting and disappointing. Has anyone heard of ‘ask Angela’ to keep our women safe. Disgusting behaviour.

Good service, good prices, and good quality of food.

These spring to mind: apathetic, disinterested, not bothered, no idea of customer service... I could go on, bit I'm sure you get the picture. This Wetherspoon needs to seriously up its game. It could start by taking less than 9 minutes to serve a pint on an uncrowded Monday evening with SEVEN front of house staff ....

The usual good selection of food and drink on a JD Wetherspoons menu. All reasonably priced.

Difficult to get a seat on the weekend

Jamie is a wonderful young lady behind the bar, showed compassion when I was upset and made me and my friend 2 of each of the 6 classic cocktails, she’s a credit to management and the company

It was ok I don't think the staff was all the good at cleaning the table and dirty plates around even as there was lots of staff there , I been to others where they was a lot better . Apart from that it was ok .

A long established venue on Sutton's main drag. Considering how long it has been around this version of the Wetherspoons chain holds up remarkably well.

Food and drink typical JDW. You pay your money and you get your grub. Let down by the serving staff, who could learn to serve on turn, instead serving young lads who come up to the bar, maybe mates? Probably poorly trained as serving out of turn isn't a good look for any pub, even one as cheap as this.

A nice wetherspoons with a friendly feel. The service was considerate to those waiting their turn, quick and with a smile. Food was actually nice, well the Korean chicken anyway. A normal selection of good beer and pretty safe. No real reason not to go. Cheap, safe and good beer!

A very nice pub in a good location,great value,food is good service also,it does get busy around 5pm to 6 pm weekdays.I usually order through the weatherspoons app than wait at the bar.The atmosphere is friendly

3 small outdoor spaces (can imagine it's popular in the summer) and indoor has 3 separate levels. I enjoyed fish chips and garden peas for £7.62 with a Japanese Asahi. The Asahi can be £6 on its own in some pubs.

Hot food, so that's a plus! Friendly staff and attentive.

Very pleasant atmosphere. The service was very nice and helpful. In addition, good beer prices and a very large selection. I will definitely visit there again soon.

Decent beer but microwave meals

Friendly staff, good food and beer as you would expect in a Wetherspoons. Chairs could do with recovering and the carpet is looking tired.

Standard wethersooons pub innit Update update: spent less than a tenner on two beers, the Korean chicken burger and chips. Great value even if there was barely any sauce on the burger. Update: ordered soup that came cold and without bread, when I questioned the bread was told it doesn't come with any despite that being what the menu said. Poor form

Good prices as you would expect but its not a proper pub.

I have been coming to The Moon on the Hill for years and I have noticed an astronomical improvement in the speed of service and cleanliness of the pub in the last few months. The pub manager Ellie is so welcoming and professional. Our drinks arrived within 2 minutes of ordering on the App and the food was perfectly cooked and the chips were nice and warm.

Always had a wonderful breakfast experience at Wetherspoons. Today was the first time at this one, and safe to say the last one ever. Ordered my standard avocado muffin - avocado was virtually missing. Looked like it was spread with a butter knife, unlike the generous serving at all other venues. Even after complaining to manager, no empathy and complete lack of customer understanding. Coffee was as bad and one of the machines was broken. Service was super slow and the venue was very dated and untidy. All in all, a pretty bad experience!!

Great place to catch up with friends. Food is good, staff go above and beyond especially Adam, Alex and Georgia!

Very good spoon with efficient service and very reasonable price. There are outlets available for charging phones. The only downside was the men's toilets which were very dirty.

Stopped in for breakfast before heading into London. This was good food at low costs in a clean pub. Ordered on the app, drinks came with in a few minutes and food was there under 10 minutes, all fresh and hot.

It's a Wetherspoons. The ambiance is average, the cleanliness is average, service is fine. Drinks vary from great to poor but they're all cheap which is what people want.

This is a large busy weatherspoons at the top of sutton , it offers a good, extensive menu , This branch doesn't have a car park although there are car parks all around as it's just at the top of sutton High Street . Staff are helpful and friendly A good place for a budget brunch 👌

I have been in around 50 spoons. You get good and bad and, over the last few years I have gradually stopped eating in them as the food quality has dropped so badly. Anyway, this is the worst service I have had in a weatherspoons. Young people working behind the bar (which is fine) but they were picking out their friends at the bar and serving them completely out of turn. In between they were chatting about their plans for the weekend and using horrendous language. Really not a flagship impression for pub for the chain

It's probably one of the best wetherspoons we have visited. Service was so quick, and all the food came out piping hot. Very friendly staff throughout. Great layout, and the toilet isn't a mission away 😬. Picture is the large breakfast with added black pudding.

La luna en el pub de la colina estaba muerta, pero el servicio era impactante. Esperamos siglos para nuestras bebidas y más de 50 minutos para la comida. Cuando llegó la hamburguesa de mi compañero, fue un desastre - soso, de mal gusto, y parecía que alguien acababa de tirarlo en un plato que todavía estaba esperando mi comida, así que fui al bar para obtener un reembolso. El personal me ignoró por completo a pesar de que había un montón de ellos sin hacer nada. Finalmente, recuperé mi dinero, pero toda la experiencia fue una broma. Esas fueron las peores Cucharas en las que he estado, y nunca volveré.

There are lots of great drinks at solid competitive prices. Food is good - it's pub grub, and it's consistently decent. As long as you're not looking for a fancy restaurant, you'll be generally pleased with the food. The atmosphere is basic, as with all 'Spoons, a lack of music and independent pub-vibes, etc. mean there are much nicer places to spend your time, but it's fine, really. Rend to be lots of workers and families around at all times, which creates an alright hubbub. The service is great at this 'spoons, I've definitely been to some branches before where the staff are just rude and don't care; this is not one of those places - very friendly and easy to talk to in my experience. I'm not sure what it's like on a weekend evening, but I steer clear of those times, anyway.

Having ordered a spirit today, I required a small slash of mixer only - but, the bar person moved several feet, to pour the mixer. Whilst simultaneously talking to a colleague, she was unable to hear my many efforts to gain her attention. And my glass was virtually filled to the brim. Simply poor service. Bye.

Their English breakfast is fantastic, offering perfectly cooked eggs, tasty bacon, hearty sausages, and fresh toast. It's a delicious and satisfying way to begin the morning!

Good Weatherspoons food & drink

The food has gone downhill here. Bought my usual butter milk chicken burger. Oily chicken, smelled of something synthetic. Smaller portion of chips and rings with it. I remember eating frequently there 5-6 years ago, nothing like it anymore. The atmosphere is quite heavy, as if you dine inside an old beer keg. I know it is spoons, but it was so much better in the past. There are many other spoons that are miles away in quality of food and atmosphere. Staff were very helpful and friendly tho, and they are 5 stars.

Went on a Thursday so it was curry night.very enjoyable.with a pint of Guinness and good value too.

It is a lovely pub. I love it. However, today was a bit unusual. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast with a regular orange juice. I was charged £7.36 Somehow, after waiting for 30 minutes I got the vegan breakfast (without fried eggs) which costs £4.61. So it means a regular orange juice costs £2.75? Perhaps it was a kind of misunderstanding today. 🤔

The food is okay, though it seemed that some of the portions are smaller compared to other Wetherspoon pubs. The staff can be a bit slow and distracted, and I had to wait for a long time to be served something that had dietary requirements. The ambience is okay for that kind of place.
