Amazing cafe one of my favourites. Went today with my husband , son and daughter for mothers day and had the most lovely brunch. We had 2 x vegan cooked breakfast 1 x vegetarian and 1x shakshuka . All incredibly tasty good portion sizes . Friendly, efficient staff. I usually opt for their amazing salads- have even asked if they could share their green bean recipe as its so tasty. Cannot recommend cafe highly enough .

We arrived on Saturday lunch time, to be seated at the rear. Unfortunately the welcome included many tables not cleared and a shortage of waiting staff. Finally we realised that we should order at the till. Our food arrived 15-20 mins later. Nicely presented small portions of eggs Benedict and pots of tea. We used to brunch at this lovely cafe fairly regularly but we haven’t been to Crouch End for a while. I like the interior with the hanging plants and relaxed vibe but sadly standards have slipped - our table was sticky, and table clearing included leaving food on the floor.

We stopped off here for a late lunch and to use the WiFi. It was recommended by my daughter and her friend, who often eat here. Of course, being late meant quite a few dishes were no longer available, so I reluctantly ordered items I usually don’t like—Quiche with broccoli and Greek salad and small roasted potato salad. My wife wasn’t hungry; she just wanted a drink and the wifi password. The food came promptly, and my wife had finished the Zoom call she had to make. My wife eyed up my plate, and even before I could slice the quiche, she had picked up another knife and taken a portion. Then she asked the waiter for another plate, and she stole half my food. I wasn’t bothered since I saw it as just food to keep going until we could get home. Maybe my expectations were low, but the taste of the quiche blew me away, as did the salads. Maybe I’ve had too many cold boring supermarket quiches, and I don’t know what a real quiche is supposed to taste like, but this food was excellent. I would come here again, and definitely not share my lunch with my wife, she can order her own.

No prices and no food descriptions displayed so people can't choose food products based on ALLERGIES, which I have, or even according to their purses. Poor level of English from staff meant it was difficult to communicate both ways or ask any questions about ingredients. Stated they have regulars who know the prices, so as a new customer you're left feeling reluctant to ask, as staff a bit snippy. Presuming it was the owner who got offended when I fed back that the croissants were dry (I was afraid to ask for anything else) She started shouting at me stating they were made fresh every day, (which doesn't explain the dryness but heyho). Ran me out of the shop. Banned as a result of honest feedback.

Lovely atmosphere with the glass roof and decor. However, their pastries used to be much better before. The blueberry muffin was heavy and not fluffy as it should, tartes not so good. We had coffees too, not great either. The waitress was cleaning and did not washed her hands or put gloves on before serving our food. Everything should be on point so it can match with the price we pay for.

The place itself is very nice inside, the staff was also friendly, however I can’t say I’d visit again. We were told to sit down wherever we would like to. There was no menu on the table and after waiting quite a long time for someone to come, I realised on a board it was written to go to the front to order. So it did not make any sense why they would not tell us this in the first place and you have 2-3 people working there with sitting area, but not taking the order at the table, so you sit down to go back to order!? Then I didn’t get my food I ordered 2x, which is not a big deal, happens… but both times my food was brought back on the same plate, the food I didn’t order was just scraped off… usually if this happens, normal places would give you a new portion/ plate. Also the first time I’ve ever had Greek salad with coriander… it’s overpriced compared to what you get.

As it's on the Broadway I knew it would be quite expensive, but for what this place is offering, their prices are excessive. On my first visit, I had croissants and coffee, it was okay, not exceptional. The second time I had plain frangipane cake and coffee. The cake was dry as though it had been out for too long and the coffee tepid. I asked if it could be reheated or if they give me another that was hot. The girl agreed but took over 10 minutes to do it, and they weren't busy. Even so, I've worked in the hospitality industry and have experienced customers who blame the waiting staff for things they have no control over, so that's not really my issue. But any establishment charging over a fiver for a small slice of cake or a single tart needs to make sure it's a lot better than okay. On the more positive side, the staff were courteous and helpful, though I doubt the amount they are paid reflects the prices the employer charges.

Not a great experience, especially when considering how much they feel their experience is worth (pricing). We arrived and asked if dogs were welcome and were advised they were we then ordered two sausage rolls, a cappuccino and a mocha £20. Our sausage rolls arrived very quickly and the coffees ….just never arrived; I have never had this experience before - food arriving before drinks! After waiting patiently and finishing the rolls, the server arrived with coffees for someone who had literally sat down a few mins before, but she looked over to us, so we thought she had recognised the oversight….waited…she had not. In the end I went up and addressed the server explaining politely that the drinks never arrived. She said nothing and just pointed at a girl at the coffee station. There were two drinks there and I asked if this was our cappuccino and mocha she said yes. I offered to take them over to our table as I was going that way anyhow (trying to have a laugh with her) and she then became rude “I will bring it over in a minute (we had already waited 15mins!) . When it eventually arrived, my wife pointed out that she had ordered a cappuccino and not a latte ; the girl tutted and took the latte away and returned almost immediately with the same latte that she had taken away she had sprinkled a bit of chocolate over the top of it and then blatantly lied saying she had picked up the wrong one. We were quite surprised by the general attitude we received here ( was Boxing Day too! Merry Christmas!) to be fair it was the barista who destroyed the experience. Being that they charge as if they are a cut above the other cafes around here, I would suggest a review of staff and rectify any grudges they have or whether perhaps they are no longer enjoying their work. Also an apology for the delays and mistakes; and a genuine rectification would have been the reasonable reaction, costs nothing but would have saved them a poor review and maybe even landed them with a more positive one. I won’t be back….although we did have a good laugh about it on our way home; so thanks for that :)

I am not sure why people say it's expensive. It is in relation to their own home-cooked at home breakfast? Or the nearby Gregg's? Sourdough Sophia's more costly, and it's predominately a take-away. We are in London. Everything is expensive. I think price-wise, this place is no more costly than any other brunch/lunch joint in the area. They have an excellent array of options - sandwiches/brunch/salads & veg dishes, but their forte is their pastries/cakes. Here you will find some of the best brioches/pastries in Crouch-End. Way better than Gail's and way cheaper for the quality you get. They could do a bit more for the decor, as it feels a bit scrappy and not very cosy - hence I would not give it a full five stars, but it's worth 4.5/5

We ordered: - Mozzarella sandwhich; was really tasty, was surprised how light and crunchy the bread was. - Cinnamon role; so soft and tasty one of the best ones we've had - Apple crumble; loved how the crumble melted in my mouth! It was the right amount of firm vs crumbly and was a little moist. Would order again - Spinach feta crumble; texture was good but lacked a little taste We were served by Kaleb, felt super comfortable with him! He was friendly and patient with our orders! It was 5pm on new year's eve. Our daughter, about to turn 18, was due to host a dinner party for 25 of our friends that night. We had just discovered that the cafe due to cater the event had let us down. Her guests were due to turn up in two hours, and we had no food. As panic set in, we phoned around. Most places were shut, and those that were open had nothing left, or were unable to cope with such a big order in such a tight timescale. And then we found Sable D'Or Crouch End (via the Muswell Hill branch). They could not have been more helpful. They had some delicious salads left, and although the kitchen was in the process of closing for the night, they reopened and knocked together some more dishes for the event. The food was delicious, the guests were all really well fed and we and our daughter are incredibly grateful. The guys did all this with smiles on their faces at the end of a long day when they must have been looking forward to closing up and going home. This was truly outstanding customer service - thank you!

Very overpriced food and fairly bland service. We enjoyed the food, it was nice but lacked much punch. My biggest gripe is how expensive it was - we had a tuna melt, cauliflower salad, and beef chilli pasty and two black coffees for £23!! That seems rather extortionate for what was light cafe/deli lunch. The service was was fine; food came on time, order was correct etc but the staff seemed rather despondent. The place just lacked a bit of soul. One last thing was that it was extremely hot, but this is an easy fix so not such a big issue. I can only assume that the high prices account for the high heating bills.

I had lunch with a friend in this little bakery cum restaurant. The furnishings are simple and functional which gives it a canteenlike feel, but sitting under the huge conservatory glass roof gives it a cheerful ambiance, especially on a sunny day. You order and pay at the counter, and the food is brought to you by a waitress. There were several prepared dishes, and and a nice choice of salads. As a main course you could have two or three salads. I opted for Greek salad, green bean salad, and stuffed aubergine salad, GBP10 or 11 for a generous plate. They were nicely prepared and tasted very fresh. They have some wonderful healthy juice concoctions, my 'spicy Jack' was pear and apple juice with a good kick from fresh ginger. A very good healthy lunch for GBP15.00.

Guys, shocking service today. Slow, even though not very busy, no greeting, food order placed without a word, no salt and pepper offered, presentation not usual standard. A lady near me waited nearly 10 minutes for a coffee which was then plonked on table without a word. This is poor customer relations, looks like no one in charge? Pity because I always enjoyed food.

Went in to buy a simple croissant and baguette and honestly couldn't have had a worse experience. The staff were rude, both the products I wanted to buy were stale to the point that they were inedible and extremely overpriced. Very disappointed by it all.

Pros: excellent decor; good customer service; comfortable seating; the chicken and beef are halal (as I was told); good vegetarian options. Cons: the food wasn't great - the beef patty had a bitter burnt taste to it; the prices were unexpectedly high.

I dropped in on a whim for a breakfast. Staff are nice and food was good. Got a pot of tea and veggie brioche for a tenner, which is standard price for the area. Not too busy and not too empty. Highly recommend.

I really want to like this place because it’s such a nice space, and the staff are friendly if a little scattered/ young. But the last few times I’ve been there for breakfast it really disappointed. Either over cooked or undercooked eggs, and the ‘toast’ was griddled bread, still mostly raw and chewy. It’s toast, people! When I’m spending over 8 quid for scrambled eggs on toast it should be perfect. The kitchen needs to sort themselves out. It’s great trying to be above average, but there’s no point fancying things up if you can’t master the basics.

Lovely place, friendly staff. I just called in for a coffee and something sweet. I had the poppy seed sponge with lemon icing. It was very tasty and not too sweet, just what I wanted.

Lovely food served here. The Sunday early morning waitresses are particularly good. They pay attention to customers and are very friendly. One even remembers our orders each week! The food is on the pricey side but average price for the area. Clean and tasty. Definitely one to try

Lovely little place in Crouch End. I visited on the tail end of the lunchtime rush so there was plenty of seats and it was very peaceful in there! I had the Tuscan sandwich and the cleanser juice - both were absolutely delicious!

Whilst the staff are friendly and welcoming the food is very mediocre. Save your money there are much better places to eat in the area.

Really quite a clique-y little place. It seems nice for locals and the prices are much lower than the normal London average, but my friends and I were turned down at 11:30 saying last orders had passe
