The Faltering Fullback in Haringey

I loooove this place. The food is so good, the portions are quite big too. The outside seating is amazing, even when it rains there are a few spots that are sheltered. Staff has always been nice. A mix of people go there, I've talked to 20 y.o. like 40 y.o. before, everyone's just having a nice time.

Eclectic sports pub, like the maze like outdoor seating areas and the service is super quick and friendly.

Really nice pub a stone throw away from Finsbury Park. Perfect to watch a game with your friends.

Great atmosphere. The roof terrace is the main attraction. Service is polite and prompt. We just felt that asking people to change seats should be better handled as it's done by security and made us feel like we were being asked to leave. We were happy to move to another table but it could have been worded as a request not a demand.

Madly busy pub with a great atmosphere.

As lovely as the bar staff can be, every single time I've sat in their garden I've been asked by security to either crowd together to share a table (no matter if we're already sitting on a 2 people space), or to give up my seat for a late comer large group. Security can be very insistent and rude about it. And usually there's plenty of space inside. Don't really recommend

Probably my favourite pub in London! It’s got an awesome beer garden great beer and big screens to watch football or rugby games on! Usually gets quite busy so get in early if you want to find a table on the game days!

We went here for 6 Nations Super Saturday. There was a great atmosphere with a great mix of supporters for every team. There were lots of staff working, so you got served very quickly despite it being so busy.

Great place to meet your friends. Great experience. Nothing wrong with food, it's good. But not 5 stars. The real star of the show is the outdoor beer garden. Great experience- should not go wrong with your visit with your friends

Oldskool and does the job, have to go to understand how hood this pubs vibe is.

Don't get me wrong this was a really interesting pub with all its maze like staircases leading to secret drinking spots in all different shapes and size. A local told us gotta be a the best Guinness in London... definitely not, the Guinness we got did not taste right, tasted really watered down. Didn't hit the spot. Plus not even in a Guinness glass. Bit of a let down.

The decor is quirky, and they have a beautiful garden inside. I finally tried their Thai food, and it was surprisingly delicious, especially the creamy green curry which had a nice spicy kick to it! 🌶️🍛 It's a cozy spot with reasonably priced drinks, and the layout of the beer garden is smartly designed. Plus, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, making it a fantastic place to hang out whether you're into rugby or football or just want a great pub experience. 🏉⚽🍻

I really like this place. It's authentic but not grotty. Boisterous out the back but cosy in the front, and the clientèle have a very friendly vibe.

I been there to celebrate my birthday party, so we didn't eat much, but we drink a lots. We had a good time, the only complaint was for the plates, they didn't want to give as few plates, so we ate the cake on the napkins.

This tree house of a gem of a watering hole is truly great. Something for everyone, from the quieter entry/ground floor area, to the back of the ground floor tucked away with live music and an area for a banquet, to the outside area and levels above that make it feel like you're up in the canopy. I didn't try the food so can't comment there but there were plenty of snacks for our liking. The security was refreshingly decent and highly professional too.

Interesting pub/bar also serving Thai food. Feels eclectic as a place - different areas inside and outside. You can choose from a more cosy, pub feel one side of ground floor or a larger space with picnic bench style tables. Outside there are three narrow mazzanine-type floors which make for a really interesting outside seating area. There is a fair selection of drinks (not much choice in terms of gins) but definitely enough choices to suit everyone. The food was served quickly and was perfectly decent, nothing special, but nice enough. I would visit again.

Crowded pre Christmas but we managed to find a bench to watch the football and enjoy the spectacle of a table of Ali Gs popping in before heading up the road for then darts.

Cosy sports pub with a surprisingly authentic Thai food offering 😍 menu is limited but well executed 😌

Had only ever come here for drinks but after hearing so many good things about the food here, I had to try it! It was surprisingly good and the portions were great too. We ordered the prawn pad Thai (a good benchmark), and green curry. Both were really scrumptious but I have to say, the curry was my favourite!!! It was super creamy and had a really nice kick to it.

Came here with a large group of friends on a Thursday night and was thrilled to find lots of seating both indoor and outdoor! A great selection of drinks at a reasonable price, and according to an experienced friend, the second best Guinness he’s ever had outside Ireland. We will definitely be back 🙏

Such an HORRIBLE experience, we came from far away because a friend of mine recommended as they are "dog friendly", but once inside a security approach aggressively to us saying "you cannot stay here with that dog" when inside already saw two other dogs, why other dogs are allowed but mine not? Because is a bit bigger than the others? I felt very discriminated, because in the website say they are dog friendly, but is just A LIE, they are dog friendly when is convenient for them and when they want. One of the security offered me to take a plastic glass to drink outside, are you for real? Under the rain?!!! Even have been mentioned that the owner has two dogs, if you have dogs you should emphasize more with dog owners. Please do the favour to update the website as you are NOT DOG FRIENDLY. I will never come back, if I could I would rate 0 stars. Now I'm enjoying a nice service in somewhere else that is dog friendly for real.

Never been to a pub quite like it. The pub itself is massive and atmospheric, but the real hidden gem is the beer garden. Especially fun during the summer, I’d highly recommend.

This used to be a good pub but the security staff have become incredibly aggressive. My friend went to the toilet and was immediately thrown out on the basis of “suspicion of drug taking”. No explanation was given. On top of that the queue management has become chaotic and random so I’ve had situations in which friends have had to wait for over half an hour to be let in for no apparent reason and have missed the first half of big games. They don’t operate a one-in one-out policy, it’s basically random. I’ve been here many times before but the atmosphere around this place has changed completely and I won’t be back.

This is a great pub within a short walk of the tube. It has a great entertaining space and decent outdoor seating. I went to watch an Irish rugby match, the atmosphere was electric, however marked down due to how so busy it got. There was a queuing system before I arrived, but once the game started, it felt a little claustrophobic, this is my opinion and if you are good with crowds, this wouldn't be a bother for you. I ate before the game started, the food was incredible and very quick for a busy pub. It was value for money in a venue in this location. The bar was small, but the staff were really friendly and I was served quickly, but once the game started, couldn't get to the bar as I placed myself too deep into the crowd, but I saw a steady stream of people getting drinks, so seems the service remained grand. Security were nice and maintained a good atmosphere. All in all I would go back

Not really happy with it. We were there for bartenders weekend. We expected a little bit more attentiveness from professionals to professionals. There was no food available.

Simply the best pub in Finsbury Park.

Used to be one of my faves due to the amazing beer garden, but there is so much abuse one can take from the staff. From the persistent waiter that wanted us to hand feed him our food, to the guy at the bar who said my dog was not allowed while there were several dogs inside :( not going back Previous review: I wanted to enjoy a sunny day in London to celebrate my bday in a pub with a nice beer garden. The Faltering Fullback was a great choice, there is an amazing beer garden on the top floor. It was very busy, at first we could only get a small table (arriving at 12:30 on a Saturday). They did not serve food until 6:30pm, but allowed us to take our own food.

Pretty decent little boozer, although little is a poor choice of words - the inside is actually rather big - with multiple rooms where sport is often played (Mainly a rugby bar) and a lovely winding balcony beer garden area if you want some air. Drinks were generally quick to order from the bar but there is also the option of table service via a QR code. Can't speak on the food in general as I didn't eat anything aside from nicking a friend's chip, but that one chip was pleasingly crispy with a lovely fluffiness inside. Would recommend grabbing a bowl if peckish. Really nice way to spend the afternoon especially if the weather is decent.

Honestly one of the most fun places in North London, no frills, authentic, honest.

We have been visiting for about 2 years every now and then. The place is massive. There are some small tables for a bit more private chat. Then there's a large hall with plenty of seats that's perfect for watching sports. The most unique about Faltering Fullback is their set of little terraces with multiple levels surrounded by lots of different plants. This lovely beer garden really is the reason we sometimes decide to come here even though they don't serve any cocktails. The pub also doesn't allow dogs. These are two reasons we don't come as often. Staff are always polite and friendly. Prices are normal, and bathrooms are taken care of. Looking forward trying their food one day. In summary, this is a great pub in Finsbury Park to bring or recommend to friends.

Pub quiz on Monday is great. Unfortunately a veeeery small selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Very lovely (and large!) garden at the back. The main indoor room is a bit bizarre. Must be good to fit many people watching sports though. Cuter pods to seat in near the entrance(s).

One of the best pubs in London!

What a hidden gem. I went to this pub yesterday and couldn’t fault a thing. The staff were brilliant. Served drinks quickly and noticed who came first to the bar. Our glasses were collected and ashtray emptied regularly. Clearly running a tight ship here. The outdoor area is really beautiful on tiered levels with lots of plants everywhere. They have a very fair system where a security guard forms an orderly queue for the seating areas and they were very polite and friendly. The star of the show for me was the thai food. I can’t tell you the amount of disappointing thai takeaways I’ve ordered that taste nothing like thai food. But I’ve finally found and authentic one now. I had the thai fish cakes and pad kra prow. Both tasted amazing and had heat! Something you rarely get in thai places in the UK because everyone wants dulled down westernised flavours. It was such a delight. Go and give it a go. You won’t regret it.

Good atmosphere. Can get very busy on a Friday and Saturday so good luck getting a table. Plenty of seating outside to puff a vape or big cigar.
