Lovely breakfast. Great cuppa. We come regularly, always had great service and a delicious meal

The cafe has been closed for a few months. It was eventually sold to new owners. They are refurbishing it at present.

Had a catch up with friends at the oak on Thursday steak night The food was great, and the presentation of it really good. my friends had not been to the oak before and said they would certainly visit again. Great food and an enjoyable evening.

All round great pub. Unique quirky atmosphere, pleasant staff and good hearty food.

This place has gone down hill, ordered raspberry crepes barely any sauce, and the ice cream is the worst I’ve tasted it’s definitely a low budget brand they use

Visited for the first time in a number of years, was pleased to no longer be overwhelmed by the smell of Toilet Duck which had been my lingering memory of last my last visit. Bar staff were friendly and attentive. The seating has also been improved and the bar area is definitely looking much fresher without detracting from the bar’s character. Reasonable drinks menu, would be nice to see some craft beer introduced, but aware bars are restricted by their supplier. Will be sure to visit again.

Sunday lunch is out of this world. Chef should be congratulated. This is by far the best for miles around, and I’ve tried a few! I had the beef, so tender I barely needed a knife to cut it, plenty of it too. As mentioned before, I don’t know what chef does with the gravy but I could drink it alone. The Yorkshire, fluffy and unctuous. Everything fresh, colourful and bursting with flavour. The staff and customers are friendly and warm, the atmosphere gently buzzing. We are lucky to have this in the village. Thank you, thank you, thank you. See you again soon

Had the carvery. Meats were dry, roast potatoes tasted old and the gravy tasted burnt. This was our second visit and last time the carrots were mush. And again they never had many desserts. Won't be returning. Sorry.

Booked last minute for birthday dinner. Chefs platter was great but very filling, mains taken from specials menu were very good. Free bottle of prosecco from birthday email. Shout out to all the staff as the pub was packed with a lot of eaters and only 4 members of staff seen including the manager and the server in the restaurant. Well done every one.

Had the worst coffee I've ever had, but the cinnamon swirl was delicious. Absolutely no atmosphere to the place.

Fui a la ciudad a recoger a mi esposa de su fiesta de trabajo. Decidieron ir a O'Neill's por una copa más y un baile rápido, así que me fui. Cuando llegamos a la puerta me negaron la entrada por estar borracho y balancearme demasiado. Fui a la ciudad a recoger a mi esposa, y actualmente estoy haciendo enero seco. Respeto la decisión de los porteros, ya que puede ser muy exigente. Pero tenía la peor actitud y medios para hablar a la gente. Me dio la impresión de que estaba compensando por ser intimidado en la escuela. Habiendo sido seguridad en el pasado, él tiene mucho que aprender y seguro que O'Neill's puede garantizar no volver a sacarme ni un centavo.

Mi marido y yo estábamos en Peterborough para un partido de fútbol y había reservado un hotel para la noche. Uno de los pubs que decidimos visitar fue el Avestruz y nos pareció un excelente hallazgo. Está situado no muy lejos de donde estábamos alojados. El personal era amable y tenía una selección decente de cervezas reales en el bar. Aunque no es un pub en particular, tiene un gran ambiente. Merece la pena una visita si alguna vez estás en Peterborough.
