The Blue Boar in Peterborough

Sunday lunch is out of this world. Chef should be congratulated. This is by far the best for miles around, and I’ve tried a few! I had the beef, so tender I barely needed a knife to cut it, plenty of it too. As mentioned before, I don’t know what chef does with the gravy but I could drink it alone. The Yorkshire, fluffy and unctuous. Everything fresh, colourful and bursting with flavour. The staff and customers are friendly and warm, the atmosphere gently buzzing. We are lucky to have this in the village. Thank you, thank you, thank you. See you again soon

Moved to the area last year and saw that they had started doing food again! My partner and I visited on Sunday for a well deserved Sunday Roast and we were not disappointed. We both opted for the roast beef which was cooked to perfection. The roasts were lovely, Yorkshires crisp and whilst I’m not sure what they put in the gravy, I can tell you it was divine. For me, the portion was perfect although I would have killed for another stuffing ball (because it was so tasty) whereas my partner would have preferred a larger portion because it was such a lovely meal he didn’t want it to end! We literally have nothing negative to say about this pub ever, it’s ran by lovely people, prices are decent, atmosphere is always top tier. Thankyou for another wonderful experience at our local

Just had Sunday Lunch in the Blue Boar. They have only recently started serving food again. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had roast beef which was perfectly cooked , tasted amazing and great value. The cauliflower cheese was to die for. Congratulations to the Chef and staff. A great addition to the village.

Visit to see a Friday night duo playing here. Most impressed by the atmosphere of this public house. Quiet for a Friday evening. Reasonable bar prices, not excessive to cover the free entertainment, which some pubs do! Shame, but too far away to become our local.

Fairly busy pub but still had plenty of seating available. Good bar service as we only went for a drink. Reasonable price and had my lager brand.

Bar staff friendly. Made us feel welcome. Moved to eye just over a year ago. Dog friendly. Lovely beer garden in summer

Loved this pub, very friendly, welcoming. Staff brilliant. Was here for a wake for my father. Looked after well. Buffet provided was lovely, & recommend caterer. Will definitely come back when I am in area again

Attended this pub, lovely local for everyone. Nicely laid out. Perfect for families and functions. Proprietors can't say thank you enough for helping with best friends funeral. He was a local to them. You and your staff were lovely and made everyone welcome. I will be definitely visiting again in the near future. Recommended a visit.

The food was amazing. Fish Cakes best yet. The Chef was so attentive & caring we can't wait to return again to try something else. Proper home cooked & fresh vegetables & piping hot.

Waitresses were perfect friendly and looked after us well, wine was delicious starter was lovely main dinner carrots wernt cooked but everything else was good

Great village pub, I've been coming here for decades and it never disappoints. Love the place, many many fond memories made here.

Brilliant place really friendly staff and locals!! Table service and covid safe. We had a problem with our bike and they let my wife wait in their really nice beer garden while I went to fetch the car. They don't serve food but the hot drinks where great and really reasonable. Must say the chap behind the bar could not have been any friendlier or more helpful. the next time we do the green wheel cycle route this will be our refreshment break.

Called in on a Saturday lunchtime on the of chance we could get some lunch. I had a Brie and Bacon Panini whilst Sam had a jacket with beans and cheese. Both were great, though they're hard to do wrong. We'll be putting it into our list of possible eateries between Peterborough and Murrow.

Last of the real pubs about. Friendly staff, friendly locals and a lovely pint.

Great relaxed atmosphere, great beer garden

Very disappointing every other word was a swear Word and at the top of their voices socially unacceptable. The staff did not seem to be concerned and just allowed it to continue. While public houses are for the community for social gatherings the verbal language was not conducive to this. Definitely not for my wife or myself would not go again, would not recommend.

Eaten here a few times with my girlfriend. We particularly enjoyed the ploughman's at lunchtime. Friendly bar staff and locals. Always try and call in for a pint when passing

Sunday roast was top notch but I feel choclate sponge was store brought microwaved which I can under stand with the amount of roasts coming out the kitchen

Great place for a well priced pint. Never eaten but I don't get the vibe that the place is all that high in places to eat. But lovely atmosphere.

My gut feeling was right when we arrived at lunch and nobody was eating, I feared the food wouldn't be great and it lived up to expectations. The burger was possibly the worst I've had in 40 years, the cheapest meat in Christendom, if it was even meat. Everything about the food was cheap and poor quality. There were also feral kids running around, it was however clean and tidy with nice staff. My advice is not to stop here for food only for drinks, consider cannibalism as a better alternative. Last weekend I ate there.

Decent pub, nice pint, friendly staff.

The interior is nicely furnished, it's clean & tidy, there is a good menu on offer, football was showing on a large tv mid week with quite a few customers, the staff very polite & friendly & a good range of drinks on offer, outside is a pleasant beer garden, but the car park needs attention & lets the place down, definitely worth a visit though

Food slow in being served and staff not knowledgeable with regard to what was available. Otherwise what one would expect for the price range. Actual menu different to that on the website.

My wife and stopped off here on the way to Lincoln, for a quick bite. A typical old style pub, with character. The Licencee was behind the Bar, and greeted us warmly.My wife had a Panini and I had a Ploughmans, good and reasonably priced, and more importantly filling. I was also pleased to see that they had "Hobgoblin" ale there on tap, which is from a small Brewery in Oxfordshire, and a nice bitter. I thought the best touch was when we left, the Licencee in saying goodbye said "Have a Safe Journey"

Spent half an hour drinking a couple of beers. It had beer and somewhere to sit. Everything I wanted from a pub. There was a pool table and bar snacks.

Stopped off at the blue boar on way home from work late on a Tuesday evening ,walked through the door to be greeted by a lovely young lady with a big smile behind the bar and some rather friendly regulars at the bar , ordered a beer which I have to be honest was in pristine condition and tasted delicious. The menu on offer was home cooked bar style , the usual favourites such as ham egg and chips ,pies and scampi , all seemed very well priced , I opted for the steak and ale pie with mash and peas and was not disappointed .It was even served to me by the chef in person , a fab lady named Angie who had a smile to brighten anyone’s day!!!. So often these days the village local gets slated for not trying hard enough to please everyone , but for the blue boar I believe it’s an excellent pub with quality beer ,food and staff, and I for one wouldn’t hesitate to trot off there again 😀😀😀

Always friendly and great quality ales.

My friend and I popped in after a long walk and had the most amazing Sunday Lunch. I had lamb shank and she had roast beef. Both were perfectly cooked and came with beautiful crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, swede and carrot mash, cauliflower and broccoli cheese and red cabbage. Excellent value and delicious.

Great local pub with an excellent selection of real ales and they regularly change the guest ales. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the landlady Alison is lovely.

Visiting family in eye, my wife and decided on a drink on this pub, it's a drinkers pub quite clearly with a big screen TV. That's not the issue. We were sat at a table and noticed the entertainment being set up very close by, I said to my wife " I expect we will have to move very shortly" A bars staff approached from my left shoulder and said "you need to move" Not excuse me, or anything that was polite or words to that effect, absolutely rude, both my wife and I are military so can take all sort but they actually annoyed us, whilst leaving I had the added pleasure of a table corner being moved hit me in the hip. Pffffft. I'll wait for a response and explanation before I leave further social media reviews. This is an honest review and I am always willing to leave positive feedback when needed.

Went there for a drink and that is all it is good for. You get there and buy a drink realistically that is it.

We regularly take our children as they are so very family friendly, have a good beer garden with play equipment and do reasonably priced food. As a couple we go to see bands there. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff, live music most weekends, and traditional pub food served piping hot and freshly cooked. There is also a well equipped meeting room and conference facilities upstairs that can seat up to 35 people and with the pub and restaurant facilities downstairs, it is a convenient place for business meetings.

Good range of beer, friendly staff, and we know plenty of people there too. Beer garden excellent.

Shabby, rolls behind counter in cling film, not cooled. Loud, staff, giggling, singing and generally enjoying themselves. Could be such a nice pub in good location needs refurb and better food/customer service to bring it back on the market as a reasonable pub. Only frequented by locals does not attract outside trade.

This pub has every thing right about great staff great beer great prices !!
