Never been before so thought we’d check it out! Cafe gave garden centre vibes, busy, plenty of menu choice and large cakes. Was not wowed by the English breakfast. But sausages good quality so always a win! Generous portion. But I wish it had of come with beans! Instead I got cress on top which seems strange On a full breakfast but went with it! Food came pretty fast. We visited on a weekday. The waitress was friendly and polite.

The breakfast is superb as is the coffee, forget Costa, get your coffee here instead. I had a bacon baguette and it was well priced and very nice indeed. However, what makes Cafe Giardino stand out is the amazing service delivery of the staff, they are so very welcoming and friendly. Well done.

Come on Morrisons get a handle on this cafe. We used to visit often but things have seriously gone downhill. The wait for food is frankly laughable and usually at least 50 minutes. Your drink comes well after eaten food and sometimes not at all. Ordered two same dishes no comparison at all. Tables covered with dirty dishes and waitress/ waiter just brings out food and walks past filthy tables with a blasé attitude. The staff are miserable rude and couldn't care less about their customers.Broken coffee machine for days. The cold drinks in fridge are never cold makes me suspect not working or plugged in ? Usually not filled up with choices. Napkins and Cutlery empty and no napkins. Orders not done in order. It's like it's being run by a team of puppets and when you dare to speak to a manager you get enough flannel to wash your entire body. Response i will have a word we short staffed. Not my issue mate it's your job to make sure you employ enough staff to cover. My best advice avoid and go to another cafe or home.

We were upstairs in the "expensive" riverview restaurant for a pre-booked pre-concert dinner. Two courses £35, 3 courses £45. Beautful views across the river and reed-beds at sunset. Arriving at the designated time it took 20 minutes before our order was taken. After the first course we were getting concerned that as the concert began at 7pm, we would run out of time. We didn't, but it was a close thing. We ordered a glass of white wine each, but the wine was only just below room temperature and should have been much colder to be enjoyable. Our starters were just about OK, although my Beef Bresaola was somewhat substandard - the beef was fine but the rest of the stated ingredients were pretty much tasteless. My wife's main was the Confit Duck leg that she has described to me as being unexciting - there was a sauce and supposed to be blackberry jus (or something similar) that she was unable to identify and the potato was just a large shaped chunk of potato, possibly roasted! My main (Confit Pork Belly) was "interesting" - the crackling was rock hard - I couldn't cut it with my knife and when I tried to bite into it, I still couldn't break it, so I abandoned that. When I mentioned this to the server, I was told that it would be reported to the kitchen - maybe it was, but no-one apologised or responded in any way to my complaint. In addition the accompanying "sauce" was like a green porridge in consistency and was barely lukewarm - overall what should have been the most interesting dish proved to be the most disappointing one. Our desserts were reasonably good, but not worth the extra £10 for the 3rd course. So, I would not recommend the restaurant and felt that it was very much over-priced and understaffed, as the service was friendly but incredibly slow. Total cost for the two of us £120, including 12.5% "gratuity". As fairly frequent visitors to the Concert Hall , we will not be returning this restaurant.

Unplanned visit so I didn’t read any reviews before I went in gladly! This morning I’ve had the best coffee I’ve had in quite a while. Perfectly made flat white. I like the coffee beans they’re using and it was made so well - a genuine flat white which is hard to fine. Decor not to my taste and they need to keep on top of cleaning the facilities a bit better (passable but could be better) but next time I’m in St Albans I’ll definitely go back for another coffee. Staff friendly and welcoming.

I’m a regular Starbucks customer. This is my fave Starbucks of the five that I visit regularly throughout the week. Great service from friendly staff. Plenty of comfy seating and tables in large premises, with full length window, that look out onto the main town centre street. Great for people-watching or just watching the world go by. Lots of free charging points and free WiFi.

This cafe used to be so good and friendly. I’ve been here many times but the service depends on which person is serving. There is a very miserable older lady who is quite rude to some customers. I asked for something adjusted on the menu and there was a whole staff meeting about it - in the end I just said not to bother. It has become overpriced and understaffed

Decided to try the new burger, it was perfect. The sourdough bun was wonderful, burger cooked to perfection and the salad bits were fresh and the sauce was tangy and delicious. Side of coleslaw which was also a really yum addition to the burger. All the girls who served me were friendly and greeted me with a smile. Can’t wait to have it again :)

My friend and I treated ourselves to Notcutts Festive Afternoon Tea with Prosecco in lieu of a present, and were absolutely delighted with it. The tea itself was fresh and plentiful, with some novel ideas, like a ‘pig in blanket’ and a strawberry trifle. The staff were attentive and friendly. Special thanks to the manager, Jeff, for creating a good seasonal atmosphere. The price was very reasonable, much lower than other venues, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the tea to others. Hope you continue to provide similar offers at other times of the year. Happy Christmas!🎅
