The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in East of England

Served by a lovely lady, very polite and attentive. Tasty pasties, thank you for your smile this morning Joanna it really brightened up my day!

I meant to write this review 6 weeks ago but simply haven't got around to it. However, as I was so impressed, I decided I must finally leave a review. We brought our family - 11 in total, including two toddlers to the Coy Carp for a Sunday roast birthday lunch. We were given a raised platform area for our table, which was nice and private, and gave the little ones somewhere to trot around without getting lost in the main restaurant or being in anyone's way. They were served first, which was helpful for the rest of us. The roast dinners were a perfect size and very tasty. The two vegetarians in our party also found some delicious options to choose from and enjoyed their meals. I believe the servers were called Annabel and Nik, and they looked after us really well. (I think these names are correct) We've been back for lunch again since and will definitely be back for another meal soon.

Good food, although overpriced. 1 person behind bar at tea time, waited ages to get served🙁

We had been for afternoon tea in the past and remembered it very fondly. However our meal this time was not good. Very loud environment. Couldn’t have a conversation. Nosiest place we have ever eaten at! Didn't really feel welcome. Despite having booked a table of 6. Our table also kept getting knocked by the slamming doors. Our food took ages to come well over 45 minutes. Staff just tried to push more drinks. The food was ok although some we would have sent some back (the bbq ribs) but we couldn't bear stay any longer. we didn’t stay for dessert etc Never again!

The fox do amazing cocktails 2 for 1 offer mix and match Monday to Friday !!! And I can recommend the southern fried chicken platter from the kitchen. It is perfect for a quiet night in the evening and a lively one at the weekend.

a wet muddy puddle had more taste then my ice cream. i requested a refund but the manager was so rude and when i walked out he told me to go F myself.

I saw an advert for this place and decided to check it out. Myself, my dad and sister had been shopping at Longwater, so not far to travel. The restaurant was buzzing and we had to wait a short while to be seated. After choosing our food and having to wait a bit it arrived. My sister was alarmed that she had black pudding and mushrooms on her plate. Neither of which were in the meals description. Father enjoyed his meal, although he couldn't eat all of it due to the size. My meal is the main reason for writing this review….. The eggs could have been cooked a little longer, far too many mushrooms, no baked beans, and no hash browns. But my biggest grip is concerning the vegetarian sausages. They were dreadful, the kind of rubbish served up in the 70’s. Mashed Potato with bits of pea and carrot in a fine breadcrumb. Today there are so many vegetarian sausage options on the market, many very good and tasty. I know that something better could have been served. I’m so shocked that a fancy and expensive place like this would dish up such crap. And for the price of the meal I felt angry and ripped off. I’m sorry to say that this first visit to The Goat Shed will also be my last.

Such a shame, I visited Frinton with my mum today for her birthday, the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day! We wanted to grab some lunch before heading down to the beach so we went into this little cafe. At about 12:50, we ordered an egg and cress sandwich, a tuna and onion ciabatta toastie, a Diet Coke and a cappuccino. After about 10 minutes we received our drinks, the cappuccino was served in a teacup so was quite small, and the can of Diet Coke came with a small glass. 10 more minutes passed and our food nowhere to be seen… gave it the benefit of the doubt and some more time passed, I asked the lady behind the counter if ours was coming and she said we were next… 3 further plates of food were served and another 20 minutes passed and we were fed up waiting, 45 minutes for a sandwich is absolutely ridiculous! The lady making the food said ‘everyone came at once’ which I imagine is pretty common when you own a cafe and serve a lunch time menu… we got up to pay for our drinks and leave the food that after 45 minutes we still had not received! And all of a sudden it was being presented to me at the till… I said we didn’t want it anymore because of the wait and was offered to take it away which we did… I paid £14.80 for two very average take away sandwiches… avoid this place at all costs! They did take our drinks off the bill, but frankly that wasn’t good enough.

Worst tea I’ve ever had - had to return one as too much milk and second just tasted awful. Just like their caffe which is the worst of all the chains.

The main shop... What's happening with this store? The freezer area constantly has water all over the floor... Totally mucky with the odd yellow 'traffic cone' dotted around with a warning! And dangerous. Many of the freezers u cannot even see through the glass. Many empty fridges. The fruit & veg quality (particularly apples /oranges) is absolutely dreadful. We are now doing our grocery shopping at Aldi, as are many people that we know. So very, very sad. Management needs seriously looking at.

Very good indeed. The sausage rolls are out of this world and the donuts are glazed to perfection. The staff seemed really nice. Pizza slices are also a good option to get if your planning on going to Greggs.

I've been a frequent customer at this branch of Harris + Hoole for the last few years, and I can honestly say that the service is unfailingly speedy and friendly, cleanliness always at least very good, and the quality of coffee and food excellent. I actually wonder if some of the less favourable reviews here are really for this branch, they seem so absurdly at variance with my own experience.

Decided to dine here before a show! The food was absolutely amazing ! Vegetable biryani was beautiful and the staff were very attentive a special mention to Wendy! Made our evening
