sainsburys caf'e in Peterborough

We found ourselves stuck in heavy traffic, so detoured here. Clean, quiet, good range of hot and cold drinks. After an hour, we were refreshed and reinvigorated to get back on our journey. The heavy traffic had subsided.

We went in today for a cuppa and a meal and the service was as usual very slow,there is only one person doing the drinks etc and with a queue it takes to long and this happens all the time. Also the air conditioning was on and cold hence a lot of people keeping their coats on which is uncomfortable as you try to eat etc,I spoke to one of the staff and was told that they have complaints all the time off customers..13 comlaints already when i complained and the young lady serving was shivering at one point as we watched her. All this needs to be sorted out now.

Ordered 2 big breakfast, they both come with one less bacon and no hash browns (should have 2 bacon one hash brown), after informing them of their mistake was accused of lying and eating food of plate. After telling (andrew) the person serving us to check cctv he then said no and said he was getting security, was quickly resolved by manager who was very nice and give us a full refund.

Disappointing as times on website do not correspond to what time they are actually serving food. Had a wasted journey despite checking online first. Ended up buying a sandwich etc to eat in my hotel room when i wanted a hot meal. Staff were polite and apologetic hence the high score and the sandwich was acceptable.

Why don't they get a self service tea / coffee machine. It would save all this waiting around in long queues. Food usually good but usually a longish delay

Visited here for an impromptu breakfast. Full English breakfast cooked to order so nice and fresh. Generous serving with tea or coffee. Will be visiting again.

Really bad food. Ordered a beef baguette with gravy. The baguette was over cooked to the point I thought I’d break a tooth, the beef what there was of it was fatty and stringy and the gravy was watery. Sausage baguette average.

I like the fact that there is a cosy corner here so that you really can relax. The staff make an excellent flat white with skimmed milk- good and strong - using FairTrade coffee. Also as I treat myself to toast and marmalade the seeded brown bread is delicious. Is it possible to have proper marmalade? The other folk who order their full English to their request also look to be very satisfied

It's standard food, does the job! Staff are always friendly and you don't have to wait long for your meal.

out with one of my support workers we went to bourne and first time for me we had dinner in the cafe bit at sainsburys it was very clean and it was well spaced out so you had leg room ect and it was i think good for wheelchairs ect the food was hot and nothing was any trouble for the staff and it as a big car park

Both my daughter and I work locally so often use this supermarket for shopping and a quick week day lunch date. On Monday we arrived at 12.30 as we know the jacket spuds sell out quickly. Lunch was with us both in 5 mins and in our happy tummies 10 mins later. It was hot, filling was good and generous, the bit of salad on the side nice and crisp. Perfect place for a bite to eat. Wish I'd remembered to get the few bits of shopping I needed before I jumped in the car and headed back to work, doh!

Well save cooking thought we have a mega brunch, well did not wait too long...... Well looked nice but the 2 eggs were over cooked and hard and the bacon was hard and sausages and chips very greasy.....would not recommend the mega brunch....

Helpful staff. Decent choice for a supermarket of that size. Quality is good. I go there for lunch sometimes. I must say that I was never disappointed. My favourite in this place is soup. Coffees are also good.

We have eaten here a few times after we have finished shopping in Sainsburys. You can park your shopping trolley and select anything from a bottle of juice and a piece of cake to a nice cooked meal. My favourite is their ham and eggs but there is a good selection of fried foods, salads and pastas. There is usually a good selection of cakes and biscuits.

Ok for a quick lunch.Never a lot of choice of snacks, very pricey. Staff are usually friendly but tables need clearing quicker.

Good basic food and nice drinks. Reasonably priced. Daily papers to read is a nice touch. Staff always friendly and polite. The only negative is that the restaurant is always draughty and you have to keep your coat on.

Me apetecía un desayuno inglés, pero era demasiado tarde como para que sirve el desayuno por 11 así que en su lugar lo que eligió el mega brunch. (5 libras). consiste de dos huevos fritos, preferiblemente dos bastante sabrosas salchichas, dos finas lonchas de bacon una enorme seta frito, judías y patatas fritas horneados.

Food average for a supermarket,no thing write home about,ideal for a quick coffee or tea,food can take a bit of time to come and sometimes just warm. Trouble is there is no cometition at Bretton,other than Mc Donald's at the BP Garage

Popped in here whilst out with my 10 year old daughter. Surely you can't go wrong with a traditional English Breakfast?? Just over £10 for two meals with drinks was not a bad price but the quality of the service and the food does not match the price.The place was not particularly busy but there was a few minutes of queuing just to place the order. The breakfasts were also slow to arrive considering it is not "cook to order" food. I.e. precooked food plated up on order.The breakfast consists of 2 sausage, 2 bacon, beans, hash brown, egg and toast.So obviously the sausage and the bacon dry out pretty quickly when left out but they were also poor quality. The sausages were pretty bad budget bangers that i would be ashamed to buy. The bacon was thin and very fatty and you would not buy this in the supermarket. The egg was very greasy on top and one had the yolk popped. Even the toast was prepared. I.e. buttered and then left so that it was a sad soggy excuse for toast.I find it so hard to believe that Sainsbury's are happy for such poor quality food to be served in their supermarket. This place should be a "shop window" for quality, Sainsburys products. There are many little cafes around that can do a much better job than this. Even the trailers on the industrial estate serve better food.I will not use cafe again and would even use a different supermarket if i need to eat there.

Ok for a sit down and drink while food shopping but not worth a trip out especially to go there. Always seems quiet so other people must agree.

Poor service, very unhelpful and sarcastic woman serving, poor value for money. Will stick to their Huntingdon café which is usually reliable.

Went there the other day and firstly forgot the bacon from my husbands breakfast and the hash brown from mine, after telling the waitress who seemed annoyed with us for bringing this up we got our correct meals. My husband tasted of soap! We left and will not return... What a waste of money.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is very good and good price to. The food portions are also very good.

As would be expected, food is not expensive and a good place to stop,whilst shopping, for a coffee or snack.

Breakfast brunch is pretty damn good! Good sausages,visited 3 times now and eggs are perfectly just done,plenty of chips every Time so far,bacon,2 large mushrooms and tomatoes,sometimes its 2 for £8 ish,thats a bargain!

always a little slow with the service, but only because mostly the till person also does the coffee and tea, other than at lunchtimes, but virtually everything cooked to order, so hot and fresh, (although the jackets are a little disapointing, small and a little old).

I went with my Mum after a long day of Christmas shopping just to get a snack..we ended up ordering the roast dinner!! We were pleasantly surprised, the food is very cheap but it is nice food. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My only negative comment would be that the chairs and tables are very old and tatty and need to be replaced, but other than that all is good.

Range of food served. Have a few highchairs for kids, but not really enough for busy times. Average prices. Good for a quick meal after shopping, would not choose to eat here for a meal out, only really as a convenience quick meal before heading home with shopping.
