Starbucks in East Cambridgeshire

Tables and floor littered. Staff talking amongst themselves. Made to wait to have order taken. Emily was a professional manager, this lot are loud and unprofessional. Some of their friends came in, they were served before us, talking the whole time and didn’t pay. We walked out and went to Costa.

Staff friendly. Drinks fine. It was very difficult to fined a table without dirty cups and plates . Floor in one area had drinks spilt on floor with plastic cups on floor a potential slip hazard. We won’t be visiting again

Terrible experience, ordered two drinks and both were wrong. Ordered a Cappuccino and got a black Americano, a Chai Tea and got a Chai Latte. Told staff member and she stormed off in a huff. Second staff member also got order wrong. cheese toastie was cold and cappuccino was only half a cup. Won’t be returning.

Busy coffee shop in the cloisters, the staff were efficient but not overtly friendly. Coffee and other drinks as they should be

We visited Starbucks, Ely today, the service was outstanding, the drinks were lovely and hot given my wife is particularly fussy about her hot drinks and the cleanliness of the shops was good

All the tables had dirty plates and mugs on and we're very unclean and sticky!! The 3 girls behind the counter were too busy talking between themselves to care!! Other customers (including ourselves) had to move plates etc to sit down!! Terrible service and will not visit this branch again!

Popped in to break up our journey. Tables uncleared, floors and loos dirty. Tepid drinks, mediocre panini (one), stale thin cake slice cost over £14 ! Won’t be revisiting on our return trip.

Today I had a terrible experience, in Ely Starbucks, we order a praline cookie hot chocolate, and when they gave it to us it looked completely different as to what it looked like in the photo. We went to talk to the staff and told them about the problem and all they gave us was ignorance. They told us that they didn’t have chocolate cream. I was mad that they said this because they could’ve told us that they didn’t have it beforehand. My daughter was very upset to see that it wasn’t the same as it looked like in the menu.Never going back! I wouldn’t recommend this place to any of my friends/family. I paid £5.20 for this garbage. They wait for us to pay for the item to then tell us they don’t have the product. Disappointed.

We are regulars at Starbucks in the Cloisters but our recent couple of visits have been a huge let down. There seems to have been a big change of staff and the manager (Emily) and several others have left. The new staff have very little customer service experience and the service level has dropped considerably. The shop used to be immaculate and the tables were always cleared and cleaned ready for the next customer. However on the last two visits we have had to clear the tables outside ourselves and wipe them down, and the tables inside have all been left with empty cups and mess across them too. Needless to say on our visit to the centre of Ely today we visited Costa. I wonder how many other customers will also choose to take their business elsewhere until Starbucks sort their issues out.

Normal starbucks offereing, but the team here are always so friendly and the venue so clean and tidy. Its a go to for us when we are in town, thank you all for always being so welcoming

I went to starbucks for a hot chocolate although I didn't have a good experience the previous time. I have been served by Emily and she made a lovely hot chocolate. Amazing latte art(I am Master Barista). She even ask how I was feeling that day. Not a common thing in a starbucks place cause of rush. I'll come back for sure

Best place to procrastinate in Ely + staff are genuinely lovely - Evie and Emily surely the best ever to do it. Also, free non-dairy alternatives which deserves serious kudos

The coffee served in this cafeteria is good but the venue is a “bit of a barn of a place” which is perhaps a good thing during these difficult times when social distancing is the order of the day. Not a place for courting couples but popular with parents and their noisy children! So bring your earplugs and ear phones.

Em and the team at Starbucks are absolutely fantastic. Always helpful and smiley and they remember who you are . This has got to be one of the better Starbucks in the county .

Always helpful to me , a great team. Always welcoming. Well done guys. Always bring my family and friends to this loverly coffee shop. If my mums need help with somethink their always patient enough to speak to us and help us. Would recommend this coffee shop to anyone that really fancies a hot drink.

I have been coming to this Starbucks regularly for many years and there are many reasons why - the staff are fab, management are always kind, friendly and public facing, the seating areas are always clean and tidy. During COVID they have gone that step...

Always friendly staff and good coffee and sanitizer station on show and tables separated for covid Safety. But why oh why are there no hand sanitisers or antibacterial wipes in the loo for the flush handle, the door handles, loo seat, loo brush etc. Look at the pics of the filthy toilet brush ItShould have been thrown away and replaced a very long time ago!!! Compulsory mask wearing, hand cleaning and making people sit apart and clean their hands and keeping us safe publicly In the serving and seating area is enforced but in private In the loo, the rules don’t apply?? There should be hand sanitizer and anti bacterial wipes in a loo that is used by a large footfall of the General public especially where there is food and drink being served. These establishments should be scrupulously clean, even cleaner during a pandemic. Personal responsibility of mask wearing and hand cleaning is becoming routine everywhere.So Why on Earth aren’t coffee chains such as Starbucks being made by the Government to take responsibility for Health and safety of their customers, in the dirtiest most dangerous area of their business? Their smallest rooms we all have to share to do our ablutions, contain the highest risk of cross contamination. There are many bacteria lurking within ... a deadly Corona Hotspot. This is scandalous.

It was a very cold day when we called in for a break from the weather and a hot drink the 2 staff that were serving were friendly and polite drinks were lovely and it is placed so you can sit and watch the world...

The people that work here are very helpful, professional, friendly, and consistent. The coffee is always well made and what you would expect from any Starbucks. This is one of my favorite locations as it is close to shops and has a quieter upstairs seating...

Really happy with our visit. We're not local but they did an excellent job. My point of improvenent is tidy the sugar/stirring area.

What an awfull place this is ,coffee cups like soup bowls ,disabled auto door to get out not been working for over a year,I hate this place but my friend wanted coffee to warm him up,I had none,it's a pathetic effort for cafe ,with smelly...

Enjoyed a quick coffee while shopping in Ely. Place was almost empty at 14.00 so had pick of tables. No atmosphere but as it was just a stop over really didn't mind

I use this Starbucks a lot, as it is local to my work. All of the staff here are excellent, really genuine and friendly. The coffee is always great and the service quick and efficient. Would highly recommend!

Disgusting picture looks like frothy cream on the top I ended up waiting for this spectacular flop as no black cream was made up ..... and then ended up with a slimy mess for a drink . The idea of this drink is good but...

I have previously given this Starbucks poor reviews but believe that the team are making a genuine effort to improve. The team are lovely and have suggested coffees that have become my firm favourite, the upstairs area is a great (and quiet) place to work....

Passing through Ely, grabbed a takeaway café latte from Starbucks. Nice enough Starbucks coffee - however no Gluten Free Paninis on the day we visited - shame as i was hungry! Everything you'd expect from a Starbucks coffee!

So it’s actually not bad. This is the first Starbucks which I’ve walked in at 1040 am on a Sunday and no queue. They made me a decent venti hazelnut macchiato the store was clean the team happy..... we would defo stop here again for a coffee

Dirty cups, food on the floor, bad coffee. Smiley staff though. The worst cappuccino I have ever seen and I am a hospitality professional the last 12 years. For quality coffee, go someplace else.

Popped in today for a coffee and asked questions about the Starbucks card and freebies etc given when being a frequent customer. The two ladies who served me (sorry should have taken names) were really nice and really helpful. Thank you. Nice store, spacious would pop to again when in Ely.

Easy place to meet for a catch up with a friend. Friendly enough service, not chatty but they were busy. Tried something different, good range of different sandwiches and toasties available as well as drinks. Not harassed at all, ended up getting another round and spending 3 hours gassing! Pleasant, comfortable and not sitting with the next table so close you could join in each other’s conversations

I had time to fill in Ely, and with my newly downloaded Starbucks app, I went in search of this café. I had abandoned Starbucks about 10 years ago after a dreadful coffee experience in London. I was locked into flat whites from Costa, or even better, from Nero whenever I could find one.

I've never had a bad experience in this Starbucks. The staff are always kind and accommodating and there's always a lot of places to sit comfortably with a plug nearby (as I tend to come in here sometimes to work). Although at times it can be a little noisy, which will happen, the atmosphere and the coffee is always good. They always make the drinks a lot quicker than the Starbucks I've been to in Cambridge which is always a plus. The only downside is that the tables and the floor sometimes get a little grubby with crumbs.

We visited after the mad rush towards the end of the shopping day.

An excellent two days in Ely was only spoilt by a terrible visit to Starbucks. Walking from the car park to the main street my wife and I really wanted a coffee and so called in Starbucks. The service was slow. My wife asked for a cup of tea and was given a mug with teabag in it. I expected a jug of milk but when I asked for milk the server simply sloshed a large quantity from a plastic bottle, filling the cup and leaving a horribly week beverage. The coffee was undrinkable. Furnishing and décor were miserable and tired. One good thing - the upstairs gent's loo was up to date and clean.

I've spent ten minutes of my lunch break in a queue while the barista chats which his friends and the till operator works with no urgency or support... It's always a joke and makes me so cross

The staff were very friendly & willing to help but elementary hygiene was lacking. The tables were dirty, there was food (crumbs) on the floor which needed sweeping up, the settees needed vacuuming and cleaning to remove food which had been sat in.

Disappointed with the service and the drinks. The drinks didn't taste of anything, neither of the drinks were hot. The staff weren't very interested in helping let alone taking our order. Not impressed.

Seriously needs a sofa or two. Otherwise good, just a little too formal, go here a lot during spares.

Eh sì, uno Starbucks è sempre uno Starbucks, nel bene e nel male. Però se siete ad Ely e fuori, guarda caso, piove ... beh allora anche l'espressaccio di starbucco può sembrare quasi bevibile... (sempre considerando che siete in UK non a Napoli ...)
