The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in East of England

Having read some reviews now, I can see that the rude way we were treated yesterday by a female member of staff is the norm at Costa Hitchin. I arrived with my young son and baby girl. We started to order and I was told abruptly that they were closing soon. I continued ordering and was given the drinks. We sat down. A polite man with a Christmas hat on came round gently saying they were closing. I said okay. I hadn’t realised that the till closing would also be the store closing, as many coffee shops stagger this by half an hour or so, and so I had started breastfeeding my daughter. Within 1 minute of the gentleman telling me they were closing, the woman said, “How long are you going to be? We are closing.” I replied that I’d only just been told and she snapped, “I did tell you. Now you’ve started feeding the baby. So how long are you going to be? If it’s 5 minutes maybe I can give you 5 minutes.” Her manner was aggressive. I immediately stopped feeding (and had to leave with a screaming baby) and said, “fine, I’ll leave right now, but we won’t be returning.” The woman carried on ‘telling me off’ (this was how it felt with her aggressive tone) as I left. I realise that the mistake was mine in sitting down to feed my baby, but I just feel the tone and argumentative nature was rude and unnecessary. We definitely will not go back - there are a lot of coffee shops in Hitchin and we will choose others every time in future. I was after a coffee and a chat with my small son while feeding his sister and instead I was told off and kicked out!!

Made my coffee the way I like it. Shop itself rather dark and could do with bit of TLC

Lovely Nurserie plenty to choose from very helpful

Bland food. Chicken was so dry it was inedible. We will not be returning. The menu is too large for the chefs to make everything fresh. Obvious when the food comes too fast and is poorly executed.

I really appreciate how, all staff, was paying attention to my food allergy. Everyone was really nice. I loved the food, and I thank you for it to the kitchen stuff, and it was a such a good energy around. Literally forgot about the travelling stress 😉. Ordered the new sticky Korean fried chicken bowl with coconut rice. The meal turned up let’s say as dry as the Sahara desert, politely asked the manager (Matty) on at the time if this could be rectified and he said “it looks sticky to me” even the picture has more Korean style sauce on it as seen,and I said also I had this exact meal a week ago and it was far more sticky but he wouldn’t budge and after a fashion the only option was to BUY more sauce. Ridiculous. Not my best experience of Wetherspoons Lowestoft

Me and my friend wanted to treat ourselves to a costa after surviving a week at school. Cream was out of date, I paid for a medium and got a small and my friend who got small got medium. I paid for cream and chocolate sauce and got none and there was only 1 staff member available the whole time we were there. This is the second time the cream was out of date and they mixed up and got our orders wrong. 😑 would not recommend if your already having a bad day (I was)

Staff seem like they couldn’t care less, I was waiting at the bar to order and the lady serving me thought it appropriate to finish her lengthy conversation with another staff member before actually doing her job. Food is fine, a little pricey for what it is.

Got there just before it closed and Ollie was very nice and polite, despite probably having a very busy day. He didn't even ask for my NHS badge (he saw I was tired and dead behind the eyes) and wished me a good rest of day. Such a simple thing, but it made me happy and very appreciative of my coffee! Thank you, Ollie, I hope you get a raise! (The coffee was spot on too!)

a wet muddy puddle had more taste then my ice cream. i requested a refund but the manager was so rude and when i walked out he told me to go F myself.

It's a pleasant little café that's a little quirky. It's relaxing to be there, but the decor is a bit tired. Don't be put off by this comment though, it's a good little place. Enjoy.
