Starbucks in Southend-on-Sea

They don't like homeless people eating their food and drinking their coffee. They will ask the homeless to leave the premises when they are eating and drinking coffee purchased from the store.

Not so friendly staff. Messing about while making our drinks. At least 8 tables not cleared, 5 for the whole time we were there. Had to clear a table. None wiped over. Toilet didn't look like it had been cleaned in years! And to top it off didn't take cash! Will not return awful place.

We came here for drinks. I was first disappointed that there was only a Caramel frappucino and not salted Caramel which I enjoyed at another branch. When I ordered the cashier checked the order at least twice..more to come on this later and as I wanted to pay with cash she said they don't accept cash. Whilst I understood this in the height of covid and lockdown surely now its acceptable, it is legal tender after all?! We waited for our drinks and turns out mine was wrong. Instead of changing it the lady just poured a load of extra sauces and syrups on the top! What a waste of money for me..I then got us a table by the window, it was filthy. No one was around for me to ask to clear the previous customers' drinks so I had to clear it myself. My straw broke in my drink and as I refused to queue up for a replacement I went and helped myself to one. My goodness in doing this you'd think I was robbing the shop the way the staff reacted - two of which had been stood chatting for some time by the way. Totally not impressed and definitely a waste of money.

Staff were friendly, she helped me check my gift card balance and my drink was delicious as always. Very clean and professional environment.

The best service I have received, time after time. I would recommend this branch to anyone visiting. All their items are worth getting. My personal favourite is the White Mocha.

For a drive through that’s not very busy service time for drinks and food is painful. And to make matters worse the staff are more concerned with chatting to each other rather than catching up on orders. Lacks customer engagement and pride in their work!

I’m no coffee connoisseur but I come here for cappuccinos. Much better than the Costa coffee on the high street and the other Starbucks in the greyhound retail park. Whatever you are doing, please don’t ever stop.

Croissants today were definitely fresh yesterday or the day before. The coffee, which was usually full-bodied, today was weak and pretty much without taste. Vacated tables were standing about 15 minutes without being cleared. Will avoid this branch of Starbucks in future.

Really good service. The Starbucks here covers a large target area and is always lively. The staff do a great job delivering a fast paced service whilst covering all customer needs and the coffee always tastes great. A good little Starbucks and a real asset to Southend.

It took 15 minutes (maybe slightly longer) for an Americano and a latte. They tasted great but such a ridiculous wait, there were around 5 staff behind the counter but there were queues to the door and in drive through etc

I had to wait an extraordinarily long time in a queue for my coffee because the two staff available were both dealing with getting deliveries ready. the staff made me feel I was of lesser importance than the online patients. What compounded the situation was that the third member of staff available carried on rearranging the 'Merch' on the shelves without helping out with the very long queue. I cannot stress how frustrating the whole process was.

Once again, I've been reminded of the excellent service staff at this branch. Occasionally I have ordered my coffee from other places, but always come back to this branch. The order is always nicely presented and wrapped with care. The staff does let you know they appreciate you as customer which separates this branch from any other I've visited.

This particular branch has got really nice and helpful staff. They remember my order including my little quirks :) they are patient and welcoming. I recently ordered coffee from them to my home, and received it in cute customised bag. Such a nice touch.

Had a day out at the seaside Tuesday 23/6/20 . lovely HOT day. We both needed a coffee break after the drive and the wife needed the rest room. Staff here welcomed us to their restricted service and kindly opened the Toilet (which was labelled as closed due to covid 19) for the use of an aged lady, and enabled us to continue to enjoy our day out. Pleasant smiling faces of staff and coffee just how we had asked for. Excellent Service.

I ordered a latte twice and both times my drink was not hot. It seemed like it was warm so had to send them back again. A bit disappointing I would say. A hot drink should be hot, not warm especially on a winters day.

They put my tap water in a plastic cup with a plastic lid when it was made clear I was sitting in. Completely thoughtless waste of plastic. Awful coffee too, but that's Starbucks in general.

Met friends for coffee and cake. Place was very busy but staff were friendly. The cake was really tasty, the coffee was not too strong and the atmosphere was good. My friend needed to use the facilities and discovered that she had to get a code for access. It was a little bit expensive by my standard, but my friends didn't think it was excessively so. The place is child friendly. The tables were not cleared when we sat down and still cluttered when we left, but it was a busy time of day when we visited.

while my coffee was to the normal standard the service levels here are well below par with the staff across the board showing a lack or urgency when it come to doing any thing

This is a good Starbucks. Sometimes busy. I have found service good. It was very quick and really good drinks. Your average Starbucks.

Went for a coffee in Starbucks whilst waiting for friends. The place was so untidy it felt as if a herd of elephants had just passed through, tables were littered with stuff that nobody had cleared away, and the seating is not very comfortable.Also, what's with the toilets, a customer needs a code to access them?Couldn't be bothered, went into Victoria Plaza to use the loos.Would recommend people go for coffee at Molo Lounge instead. Much nicer.

My mrs ordered a double shot caramel frappuccino, but the female barista done double shot syrup, so I went back up to her and asked her if it had a double shot coffee and she said yes, but took it from me and threw it away and made a fresh one, but she had the hump with me and I think she took the mick by putting too much coffee in it because it tasted like pure coffee beans and now the mrs is being sick from too much caffeine in her system, the staff need to take more care!!!

Me and my partner love it in Starbucks. The staff are always friendly and the coffee is lovely. My partner has a coffee from there every single day. We even bring our daughter in there where she can get a babycchino.

Usually go to Costa but tried a Starbucks for a change. Wish we’d gone to McDonalds as at least the coffee is good there and cheaper! Starbucks coffee is watery, scruffy cafe and average toilets. Won’t be back!

I have popped in here a few times for either an espresso or a soya latte. I have also read some of the other reviews and must concur that the place is often dirty, untidy and not very pleasant at times. The toilets are normally always filthy and today was no exception. The service is hit and miss with it depending on who is on shift, today the lady was more interested in talking to her colleague and did not get my order correctly as I had to correct her twice. A couple of the staff are excellent and are very courteous and professional whilst others are rude and so unwelcoming.The coffee is good and always hits the spot. However I do expect the staff to be more welcoming and the place to be on point when it comes to cleanliness and tidyness.

The coffee is okay but I’m so put off by the premises. Toilets, tables and chairs are dirty. The staff always touch the inside of my cup too and the lid which I hate!!!!!! They count the money and then make coffees without washing there hands and it frustrates me!!

If you fancy some nice coffee & something to eat then why not go to Starbucks. The staff are lovely & can provide you with a variety of coffees, plus some good things to eat such as toasted sandwiches or paninis & other goodies, all for a very reasonable price.

the staff is always so polite. they listen and always make the drinks fast. great coffee and they occasionally have discounts for students.

I used to get Starbucks coffee every time go to Southend town, but since one of the staff shouted at me because I politely said she gave me incorrect change, I gave her £10 note, but she insisted that I gave £5 note. It took more than 20 minutes for the manager to recount the money, and it was £10 note that I gave her. Also she said sorry to me unwillingly since that I never go there again, your coffees are the best but you service is very poor.

Its not nice chairs covered in stains tables full of junk, other peoples rubbish left over cups. Really disappointed in the general level of cleaning in the coffee house such a shame. I would like to reach out to the management and suggest a deep clean from top to bottom.

The staff were very friendly who served us, it was also clean and had a variety of food and drink options. I only had to wait a short period of time for my drink; I had a Chai Tea Latte and it was lovely. Highly recommend.

Always liked the drinks and even food if I do buy at off chance at Starbucks anywhere in the world, which I cannot fault, in my opinion is bit too expensive for what it is, service wise not bad but waited about 15 minutes just for 2 drinks (one of them I had to add milk from the sugar counter myself despite asking for 'americano with milk' while ordering lol) and behind the till was about 7/8 people working there !! Famous and popular brand - yes for sure but who says it's the place to go for coffee because society says so ! much prefer Costa Coffee - every time. I only go / went here as a one off meeting up with some friends.

Just has a bit of a unpleasant atmosphere. The other branch that was closed was nicer this one just seems unrelaxing. And dirty.

Although I enjoy the coffee I am totally put off by the general state of the place. Hardly an pleasant environment to enjoy a premium rate mug of coffee. Having visited at various days and times at no point does it get any better with tables not cleared and debris all over the floor. Just to add to the misery with only two of us in the queue it took over 15 minutes to prepare two coffees due to the staff talking amongst themselves. An improvement in customer service is required here.

Mein erster Starbucks Besuch und auch mein letzter, sieht iwie doof aus, musste ewig warten, Mitarbeiter nicht sonderlich nett und viel zu teuer, ich bleib lieber bei kleinen süßen Cafés die keinem Riesenlöchern angehören.

If you have been shopping in Southend High street & decide you fancy some refreshments, then why not try Starbucks. The staff there are very friendly, & they have a wide choice of drinks, both hot & cold to your choice as well as wraps, sandwiches, paninis, cakes etc. etc. to tempt you. Good place to relax & rest a while.

Service was slow, they nearly made my drink with milk, despite asking for it with Soya. Very poorly organised, cashier was doing too many things and not concentrating on the tills. The manager didn't really appear overly worried that there was a queue and orders were slow to be progressed; it looked like there wasn't sufficient on duty for a Saturday to me.

Always a lovely coffee in these coffee shops! Friendly and efficient staff and reasonably priced. A nice selection of food and drink.

Love Starbucks but this place is rapidly going down hill! Depends what staff are working as to what service you get. If Leia or Michalea are working your ok after that avoid and go to Costa. Entered the store at 17.30 and finally got back to table with my drink at 18.00 the other day. Only stayed as I was meeting someone. Usually dirty tables and full of other people's empties.

For a change had a grande breakfast tea today. Excellent ! Boiling water, large mug, large quality tea bag ! Result : superb cuppa 😄

It's difficult to review the drinks & food in a starbucks as they are so universal! I like the coffee, but this review is just a quick word on the staff that work there.

Get me coffee from here love the hot chocolate the fraps and the capo chinos too good quick service nice staff and good prices.

This Starbucks is in Victoria Plaza near the Odeon Cinema.This is the first and last time I will use Starbucks.The coffee and tea are served in mugs no cups or saucers available,plastic spoons only.The staff never smiled were only interested in serving the next person.The toilet waste bin was overflowing with dirty hand towels.The tile edges were covered in dust.Not a enjoyable visit.

Been here a few times in the past and glad to see the service is as good as usual. I asked the lady what she recommended as I had a bit of a tummy bug and couldn't do anything with milk so I had green tea. Fairly clean and waitresses/waiters clear up the trays etc if people left them behind. Theres two starbucks in southend high street, 135 and 188 high street.

Great, fast friendly service in a comfortable environment with the obligatory free Wi-Fi. Great latte and nice paninis. Amazed it hasn’t had any reviews yet - it’s not exactly a new store!
