Fantastic soup .cheese on toast very yummy

I really very much enjoyed this lunch at this place and was pleasantly surprised. The wholemeal panini was exceptional.

Perfect spot for working for a couple of hours, just a bit hot inside

Poor service took an hour for eggs on toast and had the cheek to ask for a tip brunch and co 10x better across the road

I went there for a brunch for my birthday. Customer service was good. The vegetarian breakfast could do with some mushrooms and 2 eggs. I felt the size if the coffee cup could be bigger.

Really shoddy unorganised service, lots of youngsters not doing very much, hair unhygenically hanging loose & playing with it. All looking a bit lost, with a cafe full of customers. Im all for inexperienced youngsters in the work place, but there should have been an adult present guiding them. It also looked really grubby behind the counter, totally off putting & it took nearly an hour to get a cup of tea & a sandwich. With so many great cafes in Leigh they will need to up their game

Went on Monday … ordered a decaf cappuccino. Everybody after me was served. The staff lost my order. I waited 40 min and asked for a refund. It can happen of course. The place was lovely, the staff friendly. Anyway, if I pay by card I expect a refund by card … not by cash!

Popped in for a cup of tea and cake whilst it was raining and this is a nice place and reasonably priced to boot, friendly staff nice cake what’s not to like!. Cheers

Ordered the bagel with cream cheese & smoked salmon which I I would give a 5⭐️rating but who ever was making the coffee needs lessons on how to make a perfect cappuccino!! It was one of the worst coffees I have ever had it was like a milky dish water disgusting but hats off to the bagel though

Busy cafe on The Broadway in Leigh so very popular with local shoppers. Particularly busy at the weekend but service is fast. Not the most extensive menu but good for brunch. Reasonable prices and decent portions.

Fantastic coffee and brunch location! Especially love the pastries. Atmosphere can be busy and noisy. However it’s worth it.

I like it here, the coffee is nice and great veggie brunch options. Great selection of cakes too! Very laid back service but friendly. Only niggle is it is quite overpriced, considering you don't get proper table service.

Well I've been here before and should of remembered how poor the service is. Only ordered a latte,cappuccino and 2 pastas de natas.. 15 minutes later and they arrive. The cappuccino is cold. Mums mixed in the chocolate already. Take it back to counter and tell them it's cold. No apology and I'll make you another one. Comes back same coffee put in the microwave and slopped in saucer. Terrible service. Don't take cash unless you have the correct money and have the cheek to ask if you would like to leave a tip...for what...cold coffee and no service. Don't waste your time or money. £12. Better places on the Broadway....

It was nice. Until I was chased down for apparently trying to steal a latte that I ordered but didn't receive for 20 mins so decided to leave to get one elsewhere.

I had a great brunch! Toast sprinkled with avocado fresh salmon and 2 soft-boiled eggs! Accompanied by an excellent espresso coffee, hard to believe but so it was.

Good food and atmosphere, was warm and inviting and wasn't as loud or echoey as I expected it might be, which was a definite plus. The service is very good, friendly staff and prompt service, I had no problem leaving a tip as a result. I had the breakfast bagel which I would highly recommend. The coffee was extremely good and, at first, I thought extremely good value for money. When it came it was not in a mug, but a small glass, so not quite the amazing value I thought it would be, but still very nice coffee indeed. Would recommend and return.

Had a lovely little lunch in the sun with a friend today. Both had the roasted veg sandwich and a delicious smoothie which tasted amazing. Great selection of pastries too! The service was extremely quick and staff were friendly. Will be returning for another iced coffee in the sun ☀️

To say the breakfast was below par is an understatement! The sausage was cheap and had no flavour, the eggs were bang average, I have had better hashbrowns in weatherspoons. Very disappointing!

Just had terrible service - I really got the impression there was no one in charge. Shambolic order taking - there's more to service that just saying "amazing" and calling us "guys". When food arrived it was tasty but the cheese on toast came 10 minutes later. Then we watched a man at another table have his coffee delivered into his lap! This used to be a good, reliable spot in Leigh and the owners were often in sight but it seems they are not keeping an eye on standards. Also very disappointed that they do not serve anything gluten free on the menu.

Ideal place to meet friends and enjoy coffee with good food. Service was friendly, reasonably priced and dog friendly.

We happily chanced upon this cafe after spending our car journey researching various other options. There was a wait of about half an hour for food as it was busy, but the coffee was served quickly and was really good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had the vegan club sandwich, and my friends had eggs royale and the potato latka. We all really enjoyed the food and got cakes to takeaway, including the vegan oreo cake which was great. I would definitely come back, and would recommend for vegan options. Thank you!

Do not come here if you are in a hurry or very hungry and thirsty. Visited this cafe on a Wednesday lunchtime. Fairly busy but not full, which does not explain the very slow service. We waited about 15 minutes for our drinks then another 15 minutes for two bacon sandwiches. Had to ask for serviettes. The waitress apologised for the wait but they did not seem short of staff. When we arrived there was a man sitting at the next table, then a woman joined him and a staff member brought her a hot drink. I assumed the woman was a customer however after 20 minutes chatting she left the table and went behind the counter. This was during our long wait for hot drinks and food. The sandwiches were £6 each but at least had plenty of filling. The coffee cup was small. My partner paid in cash and when he asked for a receipt he was told they could not give one as most customers paid by card! The cashier had to get the change from a petty cash tin. The toilet was outside, off the street. A bit of a strange arrangement but it was clean, toilet flushed properly and hand washing facilities were good. I would not return here due to the very slow service.

Had a lovely chai coffee and some Nutella bread, it was bliss. Great service and very prompt for how busy they were.

Nice place in Leigh but staff blanked us for 15min and when we asked directed us to the bar. After order taken, food was quick to turn up and they were able to adapt for my dietary needs which was appreciated. Tables need clearing a bit quicker as there were lots of dirty tables when we arrived, we cleared our own table. Sunday approx 11.30am red head waitress

Went for brunch - nice environment and alright food, but the service was poor. When the food arrived there was no cutlery, I asked for some, it didn’t come. Then the next table got their food (after their order was messed up), also with no cutlery. They got their cutlery, ours still hadn’t arrived - not good. The guy getting it moved at a glacial pace…and we got one napkin to share. Wouldn’t rush back unfortunately.

Appalling walked out. Today is the Christmas Holidays and the attitude of the staff shows they don’t want custom. I have had bad experiences before but always given the benefit of the doubt. Not any more and I would advise others either sack your woke staff or close never been spoken to so badly and the announcement to customers that they are closing at 14:00 yeah not good. Yes we all need to close or go home just loose the attitude

Afternoon visit, went to use the outside toilet which has is still apparently under renovation, some many weeks after this announced. Instead the ask is to use an outside cheap porta-loo which doesn't have any running water. Access to the toilet is in the dark with unmatted cabling strewn haphazardly across the unlit path. The employee who was sitting by the loo having a cigarette seemed non plused about the cabling. When I told her about the water, she said they hadn't known as no one had informed them of this. That indicates no one is checking the sanitary services in a food serving outlet and multiple are passing through using the toilet and not washing their hands including staff it would seem. Totally unacceptable and frankly gross. The environmental health and hygiene remaining a consistent 1 out of 5 says it all.

The best flat white coffee I have tasted in Southend, many choices are available for breakfast. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Not impressed by the state of the teapot. It seems a popular place, more suited to young people than us.

Haven’t been here for a while due to the usual very loud music and you find it hard to chat, but music was fine today but we ordered coffee and breakfast sandwich which was really dry and not as big as I remembered. Bacon was over cooked and just really not as nice as before. Most staff looked new and after sitting for 10 mins, realised waitress/er service wasn’t going to happen so went and ordered myself. Didn’t wait that long but just not the same so will probably go somewhere else next time! Very disappointing

I used to love this place! The location is great & I like the atmosphere. However, I stopped going there when I realised that their prices are the same as elsewhere, but the sizes are much less than standard. Cappuccino is served in a tiny cup and the coke is in a tiny bottle. I came on here to write a review and realised that there a lot of bad reviews!! Is the owner oblivious to these criticisms??? Why don't they something about it??

Just out for a nice walk and decided to have a coffee , we've heard good things about the CC so thought we would give them a try. We sat outside and ordered our coffees ,no food just 2 coffees. We waited at least 20 mins and still no coffee arrived. I approached a young waitress and explained of our wait and how other people who sat down after us have been served. She then speiled out list of excuses as to why we were still waiting ! This included we are so busy , short staffed and so busy on takeaways. I get that... but at least tell your customers they might have to wait a bit. We believe in supporting our local shops and eateries but alas this won't be one on our list again. We left no coffees were served ...nuff said.

Really lovely cafe for coffee or lunch. Super friendly staff and great vibes! Coffee is always great and highly rate the breakfast. Always busy, but rightfully so. People come here with friends, family and dogs! Highly recommend visiting

Came here for 1 quick drink at 8.30pm and was turned away due to some nonsense about having to order food. Have been here before and it's never been an issue. I even said we would order some small snacks. There were loads of empty tables inside too. We ended up going to Bocca for a quick drink instead which was great and the drinks were brilliant.

Came in with my girlfriend for a coffee just before work. We noticed that there was a problem with one of our drinks. Spoke to the friendly lady and she apologised, insisted we have a refund and made us the drinks again. Brilliant customer service 👌 Thank you so much, the coffee was amazing.

Went for breakfast. One coffee, one pastry, one juice, one stack pancakes- all average. Told to get our own cutlery as the guy who served us ‘was busy’ Went to pay our bill at the counter, £20.25 for above. I offered £30 cash and was asked by same ‘busy’ guy if I had card as ‘they don’t have change’ sorry I didn’t have card. Could have written off 25p? Wrong. He dived under the counter, spent at least 5 minutes under there and when he reappeared- long queue by this time- put a £5 note and the remaining change due (4.75) in 2s, 5s, and 10p pieces. Mostly 2s. He didn’t say a word, neither did I. Truly speechless at his attitude, lack of service and manners. Do not spend your money in this place.

The future of coffee in Southend. Leigh is a very modern place full of innovation and the Corner club is everything good about leigh. Great service, good coffee and modern ambience. You can’t get much better.

We ordered the sandwich with rocket.tomato.egg bacon. It would have been nice if the fillings were as thick as the soda bread steps .was full on the bread .not filling very dissappointed. Glass of wine and diet coke were ok And the servers more hygenic...

Best food and coffee in Leigh ! Always a great vibe

I enjoy the Friday nights. There’s usually great music and the cocktails are good enough. However, I don’t like it in the day time. For a cafe, especially on a road full of decent independent cafes, it’s below average for food and drink and the service isn’t great. Popped in one day to pick up breakfast in between jobs and they don’t take cash! I didn’t have my phone on me or any cards, so my order was left and I went elsewhere. Seems really bizarre!! From the price you pay and the standard of the coffee shop food, you may as well go to Costa. (Or just go to a coffee shop which offers a better standard of food and drink - I’m not a fan of the cakes, but the food at stop the world is great as is Brunch Co. If you want a trendy coffee, alchemy is much better) The service isn’t the best, but it’s run by teenagers and they seem to be having a good time at their first jobs. I’ve had much worse service down the Broadway (avoid Franks like covid!!!)

Food was good, overall vibe was good. We sat inside with our dog and had a nice lunch. When we came to pay I had the full intention on giving a tip. However when the card machine got handed to me the words that came out of the waitresses mouth was, ‘pick what tip you give’. All 4 of us sat at the table thought it was very rude to imply this that my cater in law who is usually quite generous just selected no tip on the card machine which was met with a rolling of the eyes by the waitress. I have no problem with the gratuity option when handed the machine but don’t be rude.

In all areas this place is awful. The toilets and inside need a good scrub. The service was certainly not given with a smile. And the food was tasteless and extremely over priced. I had one bite and felt like I had drank a cup...

Not sure who they think they are these days - never have bad service like this in any London coffee shops where you get what you pay for! Corner Club -being snooty doesn't make you high end. Massively overpriced for average food & drink, dirty tables, slow service, no manners.

Always a good atmosphere, and very friendly. The weekly events (both previous, and prospective) are very appealing, and really cool to get involved in too.

March 2022 Went back for an espresso.. Place is still super popular. It would help if locals didn't think of it as their office extension and stay hours! New coffee shop around. Very busy! Serves good coffee and viennoiseries, pastries. Service not that great...could do with some smiling faces.

Friendly polite service, some amazing coffee, always a great atmosphere, and some seriously tasty pancakes with bacon and maple syrup👌🏼 I also really enjoy their diverse evening menu with influences from all over the world inspiring their food. Also worth noting they make some delicious cocktails. I’m a big fan of their morning pastries, with a wide selection of cakes and croissants. They used to do the most delicious French Toast stacked with bacon and covered in syrup, so I’m hoping they bring this back as it was a favourite of mine. In the evening at the weekend they often have entertainment with live music or a DJ keeping the party going through out the evening. We recently went to their Quiz Night on Wednesday which was a good laugh too. The only constructive feedback for Corner Club would be on the weekends service can be quite slow, but with a delicious coffee in hand I don’t mind the wait. In the summer it’s quite nice to sit outside in their large outdoor area, where you can also see the chefs working their magic in their outdoor kitchen. Corner Club definitely ticks all the right boxes whether you after coffee, breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, or a night out.

Not as good as it used to be. Hardly any choice of cakes/ pastry. Preferred this place when they had fresh breads/ pastries. .waitresses are a little dim- they need to learn the names of food they sell , not the description! There is plenty...

I come often, and the breakfast is consistently delicious, more often from the brunette chef cooking in the gazebo outside. And the coffee too. Some of the dishes on the menu are a little strange but I’m sure they’re delicious. Can get pretty noisy but...

Love love love the Corner Club! Definitely a place I frequent: for breakfast, brunch and dinner. Alone, with my husband and with many different friends - who’ve all loved it too. Food is excellent no matter the time of day and of a consistent and very high quality, coffee is really nice and the cocktails are divine! Will continue to return on a very regular basis.

A fantastic place to take the weight off your feet for a while and enjoy a refreshment. The staff are very helpful and the smell of the cooking going on outside on the terrace was simply superb.

Food is nice but expensive for the size of portion. The ordering system really put me off. No menus just a QR code which wouldn't work on my phone regardless how many times I tried. There was also a problem with lunch menu QR code on my wife's phone, which was a brunch menu and seems the same as the breakfast menu. It was a complete faff. I wouldn't bother eating there again.

Visited a month before however it was very busy and the manager Adam advised me to come back on a weekend afternoon. I gladly returned and the food was excellent, service was swift and friendly. Would definitely return.

Nice staff and ambiance, food ok but took over an hour, which is just too long for any cafe. Plus the outdoor chef was putting some poached eggs onto toast with his fingers!
