Lovely pub, went to Bellfest 2024. It was a brilliant event, sad for the landlords as turnout was poor due to absolutely awful weather. Some great local bands, the dub tent was absolutely awesome and a nice atmosphere all round...

What a joke. The owner himself is a violent, horribly rude man. They have no respect for anyone. Wouldn't waste your money or time. It's a shame to be honest as the building is beautiful but not looked after and the location is stunning. Shame about the owner and the staff

What potential this place has. Currently resembles a builders yard. They appear to be working on it but what an odd place this is. Someone was kind enough to offer me some water on my long trek which was really nice of them but some other odd ball decided to blank me and give me a dose of bad ju-ju. I expected him to start plucking away on a banjo.....what a weird place.

Lovely spot to relax by the river watching the sun slowly set from the expanse for our Norfolk sky. The pub is remote and currently pretty basic but it looks like they are working on improvements, however the location and peaceful setting make it a worthwhile little trip. Chilled Aspalls Cyder is always a great summer thirst quencher, we will definitely be going back to enjoy another pint or two.

Lovely place, so much potential here to be an amazing place to go. We have been in the last few weeks and it was very quiet but staff very friendly, welcoming and kind. No food at the moment but hopefully will be in the summer season. Although there is such a massive amount of choice on the menu and would probably be better a lot less on the menu and make a really food job of a few things rather than trying to do everything!!! This place could be amazing x

Stopped off here for a coffee during a walk along the Wherryman's Way. Looks like they are just renovating the place, and we were they only ones there in mid october. Great position by the water, with plenty of seats outside and inside with views over the water. Very nice cup of coffee. Friendly service. We did not eat but they have a very wide range of pub food on the menu at very reasonable prices - next time this way we will have to eat as well.

Newly changed ownership, and what a fantastic place this is going to be. If you are on the River Yare, and on the way to Norwich or back, this is a great ace for a rest, a drink, and food that will blow you away. The starters are as big as most other places mains ! I had a bowl of chilli starter, £5, and it would have done for me. It was a large portion for starter, and it was delicious, spicy too, couldn't ask for more. The main was equally as impressive. Definitely worth a visit, whether you are on the broads, or driving by.

Richard Hobbs

We walked to this pub from the Rockland St Marys where we had moored. The pub is situated on the riverside and as such has an excellent location. I can't put my finger on it, but both my partner and I were glad we had gone that little extra distance and moored at the New Inn in Rockland. It may have been the weather, which was poor, but I would only rate this pub as average.

Wouldn't eat here. Absolute shambles of a lunch we had. Half a bowl was in the starter. I mean half a broken bowl was under the starter of my misses. The food tasty not very fresh. I would not eat here. The builder that served us behind the bar didn't have a clue and was dirty. I could of pulled a better pint.

Had my second carvery here recently, great value at £6.95 but such a shame the pub set on a river bank looks so shabby both inside and out. Regret the real ale was not of he highest quality probably as the isolated nature of the place makes it an infrequent out of season destination pub and good beer barrels need to be drunk in 2 weeks ideally.

Went for a family gathering. Location 'rural' to say the least, up a bumpy dirt track. Building looks like it's being repaired and repainted, but still a long way to go. Food reasonable but young pleasant staff need training - young lady struggled with carving, but got there eventually. Portion sizes large, especially puddings, except in one case the apple crumble ordered turned out to be rhubarb! Obviously looking to improve, but still a little way to go. Will probably give it another try towards the end of the year.

Lovely setting, wonderful views of the river and great place to stop after a walk along the river. Food is awful. Any drinks need to be bottled as staff don't know @@@@@. Waitress eats from carvery as she serves, food very basic and tastes awful have been here 3 times now no improvement, even asking for coffee is a task too difficult for the staff. Be prepared to wait ages for basic orders.

The food itself was ok for a sunday late afternoon lunch, but the decor is tired. The moorings are not great with harsh concrete without timber cappings so some nasty scratches possible. To counter this, they have recently put tyres along some of it but this will leave stubborn black marks on the sides of your boat. It's off our visit list now unfortunately, until it gets turned around.

We were on a walking trip and came across this pub, It was just about 12 on a Sunday lunchtime, they opened at 12, my fiancé went in, and he said the reception was like, what you doing here, what do you want, anyway he got a couple of drinks and the menu, but we decided just to have a sandwich, I went back in to order and was told, come back in 15 minutes, she not up yet! Doh, whose not up? Anyway I went back, ordered 2 turkey sandwiches, when they came, it was the cheapest brown bread with a scraping of spread, granted it was hot turkey from the carvery, with a half slice of tomato, a half slice of cucumber and a bit of lettuce, poor show! Wouldn't be calling in there again,

Definitely one to avoid now, had many lovely visits with previous owners, the welcome was poor, staff not interested, food average, restaurant was cold, staff kept leaving doors open, no thank you or goodbye, it’s fair to say our special family occasion was extremely disappointing, we will not return or recommend.
