We went as a family group of 8 ranging from 2years to 70years to celebrate a birthday. We all chose different waffles or crepes which arrived as quickly as possible when they are freshly made each with plenty of topping and delicious. A little pricey but thoroughly enjoyable for a treat. This was not our first visit and we will be back again. It's a lovely place where we can talk as we eat without the noisy background music which is so common nowdays.

The staff were extremely miserable, unfriendly and unwelcoming. There was no music just fridge noises. A very uncomfortable atmosphere. The food was ok but overpriced especially the drinks. Won’t be going back EVER

Came here is an impromptu treat in a special occasion. It’s located next to street and NCP Parking just up the road from Norwich outdoor market. Decent selection of gelatos which were delicious. Well worth the visit even in November!

Told my friends about this place and drove them 45 minutes as been a few years ago and it was great. walked in to miserable staff, dirty tables. even on the few set tables menus were dirty. then came the peak of this mountain, the service. two of our group ordered, went up and said hello, to which the server replied “you on table 7? “ i then asked for a gelato shake( you pick your own ice cream) the sour faced girl serving clearly wanted to be anywhere but here. i asked if it would be possible to have banana and caramel, together, i got no response, simply an aggressive tap on the till. i then ordered a sweet sensation crepe where i asked for extra strawberries. ( happy to pay of course) again a blunt response. i then went and sat down my friend joined me who ordered, and the same girl had said to him when i left i forgot to tell your friend we don’t usually do two flavours because we’re busy. not sure why that was even said or why a dessert place can’t mix two flavours together but her attitude was so bad it made us laugh. probably explains the wait on the snakes though, they were likely figuring out how to add to flavours in one shaker. confused by this he just said okay thanks and sat down too. the crepe was good, the milkshake watery and my friend who ordered a different one found this too, for the price they’re just a light flavour of milky water. our other two members went and ordered met by more aggressive taps im surprised the poor till isn’t suffering from concussion and asked them to make sure there was no white chocolate sauce, just milk chocolate. it got brought out covered in white choc, not a problem mistakes are made, we took it up and asked if it could be changed and got a stare down with three members of staff and a milk chocolate? okay with an eye roll. in fairness it was brought out quickly. shame about the atmosphere it’s like being in a really bad bowling alley with hormonal teenagers as staff that can’t seem to control their emotions or their faces. no music and only the sound of the other few tables and the staff complains that about being there. if only they’d smile a bit more and give some form of basic customer service, along with some clean tables this place could be nice also given a knife and fork for ice cream, bit odd even the walls and high chairs are filthy

Too expensive £££ , wasn’t expecting these prices, £7 only for one normal milkshake!! Unfortunately they weren’t welcoming us because we were asking for dessert and prices, If you buy you are welcome if not they’ll be disappointed on you !! What a shame in a good place such as Norwich Lanes!

The atmosphere and waffles ordered were delicious, such a shame the visit was marred by a slow queue mixed with those ordering scoops of gelato and those eating at table, slowed even more by having only one person behind the counter. Would recommend if you’re not in a hurry.

I hate this place. They charged too much money, 16 pounds. Wasted to a horrible restaurant. They don’t clean tables, when they tell us to sit down at our number of the table like for example (1), We have to ask them to clean tables, what I’m also mad about is that they charged 9 pound for a milkshake, ice cream took a short amount of time to stop eating, let me say something else for the waffles they did not put on strawberries on my friends waffles and bananas. I hope people won’t frequently put 5 star reviews when they see this I am very angry and would never go to this place ever again, I’ll just go to pret for now in the the city centre which is a good place to eat.

Spent an hour here, on my own. Good coffee, and tasty waffle, loaded with bananas and chocolate. Plenty of room (I use a rollator); clean accessible toilet. Good central location.

Food amazing customer service especially that shoaib guy amazing NO MUSIC !!!!!!! Absolutely fuming. They used to have amazing music on like the weeknd it was so good and memorable but now it’s so quiet all I can hear is kids crying and screaming. Definitely memorable not good the good reasons xx

Waffle was delicious, can tell they are freshly cooked. We had to wait a little while as the place was busy but you don’t expect anything else on a Friday night.

Absolutely terrible service. Just been with our Grandchildren to this place. Ordered 4 different desserts. Mine was a Summer fruits Crepe, it came with no sauce, just a load of fruit piled on a Crepe and a scoop of ice cream, £8-20 for this how disgusting. My wife ordered lemon Blitz, which the staff informed us they had no lemon after they had served all ours. My wife then said she didn't fancy anything else, so asked for a refund. The reply was we can't give you a refund as our boss is not here, can you phone the Boss??? They did but no one came over to explain. We had finished all our dishes which frankly for £30 was an absolute rip off. In the meantime they sent a couple of girls out to purchase some lemons, which by this time was way to late. Cant blame the young staff for working there, just a bad way to run a business.... So we walked out with no refund or apology, all they said was they were very busy. I will never return to here and I shall worn everybody of the way this is run. Shame on you....

Ordered and paid for a coffee. After 20 minutes of waiting gave up and asked for my money back. At which point i was told everybody is waiting so I'm no different. Not in a hurry to get anyone's orders out. Won't be back.

went in here on 12th june 2022.for my sons birthday .he ordered a sudae which on the menu stated it had a chocolate covered strawberry,when it came out it didnt have it on.so my son querred it.the young girls reply was .its not on the menu and that how it is ,eh no sorry how bloody rude.she stomped off,good job she didnt speak to me like that.IT SAYS ON THE MENU CHOCOLATE COVERD STRAWBERRY ,IF ITS NOT MEANT TO BE THERE TAKE IT OFF THE MENU AND TELL CUSTOMERS WHEN THEY ORDER ,service from that young girl was disgusting no manners .the ice cream is good staff miserable and rude

Restaurant looks a little dated but the booths are nice and comfortable and the tables and chairs clean. Great and varied menu. Crepes and waffle both had lots of fillings and freshly prepared.

The ice cream scoops were miniature and never resemble the pictures on the menu, they are much smaller and less fancy, very expensive for what you get. Even a child would be very disappointed with the size. A man across the table ordered a two-scoop ice cream and was looking shocked by the small size of it. The tables, floor, and toilets are dirty, customer service appalling. Never ever coming back again

Visited for an ice cream - the raspberry ripple was excellent, creamy and subtle flavour. The Nutella ice cream was also good. We sat across the road on a temporary seating area under a large plane tree.

I ordered the “sticky situation”, which is described as “warm, freshly baked cookie dough” this is nothing alike. It came as an (very cold) ice cream sundae, I rang thinking I’d been given the wrong order and the man on the phone was very rude...

So difficult to choose which flavour to go for! If I lived in Norwich I would tackle this systematically to ensure that I sampled them all! As a visitor I opted for one scoop of coconut and one of white chocolate. Yum!

Came here after being reminded of it. Been here a few years ago and still had an excellent visit. Greeted by friendly staff and very polite and charming. Enjoyed a lovely lunch with beautiful flavoured ice creams. I personally reccomend the cookie dough with banana ice cream

I reviewed this place some years ago when it first opened. There's really nothing to note since then.Atrociously long wait for a waffle and ice cream, bit of a slushy waffle, little small on ice cream, strawberries mediocre, maple=sticky syrup, grubby sort of place, cutlery was mucky with dishwasher stain, understaffed, long queues, no customer consideration or finesse, sordid lavatory slap bang in the restaurant.Staff: If they were slack, as some have said, who can really blame them. I couldn't wait to eat up and get out of the place and I have a sweet tooth that is legendary both as to quality and quantity.There is a much, much better place that serves excellent gelato and coffee, although not waffles, just along the way called Cafe Gelato. Check the reviews.

visited after a large social media hype, how disappointing. irritating decor that just clashes, open booth like tables in the middle of the room and tiny tables suited for 4 people, we had a booth which was elegantly laced with stickyness, i found 2 menus (one on the floor in a small puddle of oreo gelato) and me and my amigo scanned the offerings, lovely variety,shame about the greasy menu. went to order and had to encounter the staff, who can only be described as hormonal teens. had an attitude and snatched my note from me as quick as a flash, near the till also had a funny smell which did concern me somewhat, place had no atmosphere, food was quite nice but gelato had been scooped with a dirty scoop as my pistachio gelato had a milky bubblegum exterior, i couldnt stomach it. melted instantly in the sweaty restaurant. messy floors and sticky tables yet it wasnt busy at all and there were 4 staff members giggling by the crepe iron. tables could do with a menu stand and some napkins or something, whole place could do with some TLC and something to add character, such a shame

Girl behind counter 100% dis interested, which is not my problem. Ordered an ice cream 2 scoops slopped on, had to throw it away as the one side the ice cream was positioned to meant it melted all over me. Cheers gelato appreciate it.

... as not really into ice creams but gave it a go for friends. It was OK as I had a waffle but dare I say... if I was going to have that would have gone to the Waffle House. To be fair though I should imagine if you are a huge ice cream fan you would be in heaven.

After completing the 10k with a hangover, I was thrilled with my Oreo ice cream, one scoop was enough! Very nice!

Having been under whelmed by a meal out we ditched the restaurant and popped in for a desert. The choice of ice cream is vast and the waffles are so light and very tasty. It gets very busy in the evening and this is reflected in the service and table cleaning ETC, however to pop in for a desert or take away ice cream we could not fault and will now be are place of choice when finishing up a days shopping in Norwich.

This was my second visit here. The first visit myself and my partner got kinder bueno waffles. These were just plain waffles, with half a kinder bueno and some chocolate sauce on top, and a small amount of ice cream. Needless to say we were very disappointed as this looked nothing like the pictures. This visit we thought we’d give them the benefit of the doubt and have another go. We got sundaes this time, and thought we would order the sticky toffee brownie sundae, as the picture and description looked amazing, and this being the most expensive sundae on their menu we expected something special. This arrived, and again was hugely disappointing, and for the price paid, needless to say we were very annoyed again. Will not be visiting again, and does not match up to other chains of this type.

Came for dessert after dinner at a nearby restaurant. Got very busy around 9pm. Nice selection of ice creams and desserts. Shame they are still using plastic ice cream spoons. Pleasant experience.

I went there with my girlfriend in a Saturday night. They seemed to be overwhelmed with the amount of people and it was a terrible service. The desserts took ages. We ordered a brownie dough but they "didn't had any", so we went for a cookie dough and a ferrero crepe. They took ages to arrive with the cookie dough which was cold and overcooked (it was a cookie instead)... We finished it and the crepe hadn't arrived by that time.

Me and my boyfriend have been here 3 times, first time was good. The service was fast. Second time the crepes weren’t as good and they got my order wrong so my boyfriend had already finished his by the time mine came. Third time the service was very slow. I always thought you were meant to get your drinks within 5-10 mins and then your meal but apparently not. It’s always quite messy as well. The tables are never cleared and it’s always sticky.

Me and me two friends visited after seeing photos of the delicious looking desserts. My friends had waffles which they said were lovely I had a “crazy cherry” sundae which tasted fake and the cherries were not real fresh fruit cherries which u would expect from a £5 dessert which is mostly ice cream and syrup. Staff seemed uninterested and tables were left aged before cleaned and some weren’t wiped down after being cleared.

Stopped for a cheeky treat on the way back from the Plantation Gardens. Rose and Pistachio, Ferrero, passion fruit... So may gorgeous flavours. Worth it for a special treat on a lovely day in Norwich.

Came here for an anniversary meal. Unwashed Tables, menus flaking apart, artificial tasting ice cream and staff that look like they hate their job. But best of all, a short and curly hair in an expensive sundae that, because I found after I had eaten just over half of the ice cream, they couldn't do anything about, so walked away without finishing the ice cream. It shouldn't matter at what point I find a hair- it could've dropped in at any point during the making of the sundae, it's still a hair and that's disgusting. Overall a pretty grimy place and a massive waste of money and time, much better off going to cafe Gelato just off of London St.

On first look the array of ice creams look so tempting, but unfortunately they tasted like they had been made from syrup (sorbets had an artificial taste) and a packet mix (ice cream had a powdery taste). Very loud with competing music and TV and decor was too much. Not the treat that we thought it was going to be, but it was busy so must be popular with others.

Need to go back to try so many other flavours. I loved this more than I’d expected to. Try the hazelnut.

We popped after eating at another restaurant as the desserts looked amazing. OMG the crepes are as good as they look 10/10. If you haven't been as we hadn't, grab a table and order at the counter as this isn't made clear.

We visited Sundaes Gelato today. Food was great however the service wasn't brilliant!

Took the children couple of weeks ago we all had waffles. The service is ok, would not recommend the maple waffles - the maple syrup tasted of nothing. Ingredients are all of very poor quality and therefore makes this one place rather over priced. Ice cream is good and there is a wide variety available. If you’re looking for Waffle I’d stick to the restaurant a bit further down the road.

When we are feeling naughty after a walk in the city or a light meal - we venture to this place, its always open until late and there is plenty to choose from. A massive selection of ice-cream sundaes, along with pancakes or waffles or alternatively go for the soft baked cookie, ice-cream scoop and choc sauce - all from £5-8 and you can share. Or just go for a scoop or two - theres probably over 20 flavours to choose from. The ice-cream quality is surprisingly good - its not artisan but its good enough.

Just eaten at this place, ordered 2 items for the both of us, 1 came 10 mins before the other so the time the other came I had finished mine. The waitress was Snotty when asked where the other desert was and when brought it over answered back to us when said should of come together. If you can’t handle it being busy then she should get another job elsewhere!!

A strong aroma hit us as we walked through the door. I couldn’t put my finger on it to begin with but, after a short moment, I realised exactly what it was. I thought to myself “I’ve smelled this before” and, sure enough, it was the unmistakeable scent of type 2 diabetes.

Popped in here with my daughter after the cinema for an ice cream. Choices were amazing. Had to queue for a while which just shows how popular this ice cream place is. Something about ice cream, one can never have enough!

If you want to treat yourself, this is a good place to go. However, be aware that you will struggle to finish your waffle if you go right after a meal, or you won't be able to have a meal after you have eaten your waffle. Either way, you will be completely satisfied with the size and the toppings. Coffee could be better, though.

I go into this place most days after work to have a small tub with two flavours in, today I went in to get My order to be them told no we don’t do that despite serving me this option for the past two weeks without any problem asked to speak to the manager to get told no there is not one present was very rude staff member all standing around doing nothing tables dirty floor was sticky when walked in and to top it off when I wasn’t leaving watched a staff member standing there laughing at the incident

We asked the serving staff which options were gluten free -there was much discussion between them, then we were told none were. Even the sorbets are contaminated because they use the same utensils for everything. Gluten-free people: do not set foot in here! The people there were pretty rude and unhelpful. Overall a depressing experience. I think there are much better ice cream places in Norwich.

Family visit everyone enjoyed their choice of delicious ice cream. It as quite busy but managed to get a table, we also had a pushchair which was not a problem. Staff were friendly and helpful. menu choices were very good and not expensive.

We visited sundaes during a trip to the cinema and was an amazing experience. Loads of ice creams to pick from, massive selection of flavours to choose as sundaes or waffles. The decor was charming with an American style and the TV was a hit on the walls with the kids. I'd definitely be returning again!

The ice cream was expensive, bland tasting [ better ice cream from supermarkets] ,the tables were not being cleaned , customers taking own rubbish to bins , but no staff cleaning tables afterwards. Visited the toilets [ Unisex /disabled in one ] ,they were dirty , the ceiling fan was covered in grime , toilet and wash basin also dirty. Will not be using the place again

If you like ice cream style desserts, then you will surely like Gelato which is Italian ice-cream.

Not being a pudding person I never thought I’d be reviewing such a place! Having been in twice now and had a great end to an evening on both occasions it’s time I shared the love. I’ve had a hot desert and an ice creams desert on different occasions, it feels very decadent leaving one restaurant and heading to another, these guys have it right, such an array of dishes, flavours and or toppings to suit every palette, a real feast for the eyes and imagination, must say I’m converted and recommend this place

We’d heard great things and were excited to go but weren’t impressed sadly.

We have been here several times in the psst month for both takeaway and eat in. The ice cream is always great and so many flavours. Given the recent hot weather, it tends to be busy. Our only disappointment was banana crepes as the crepe was quite thin, and the banana thickly cut. Parking is not too bad.

The desserts are great, lots of choice, staff seemed really busy but were helpful as one of our friends has a gluten allergy, however this only came down to one choice of ice cream for her, the only fault is the bathroom could do with a scrub down, and some regular attention.

Staff look overworked and tired. Most tables are not cleaned after guests leave. Ice cream all over the seats. Staff are not using gloves to prep food. Really disappointed. Dont bother going to this place.

This is a cool place to take the family for ice cream, to be honest the ice cream isn’t bad just not the best one in town.

We visited on the Saturday of the Norwich Pride. Not knowing it was Pride we thought we would be waiting ages. When we got there the que was quite big big we promised our daughter an ice cream. We were pleasantly surprised to find the que moved really fast. We made our order and took a seat. Our ice creams were brought over to our table and they were yummy. I wish I could of tried all the flavours but it gives me a good excuse to go back. The only thing that would of made it better is if they came to your table to take your order if you are eating in.

Asked for two iced frappes and received two hot lattes with ice in them so basically Luke warm coffee! Will not be returning.

After having a wander round the castle, my wife, son and i fancied some waffles so dropped in here late afternoon. Very busy, but also very chaotic. We sat and browsed through the stickiest menu i have ever held, whilst peeling myself off the stickiest table i have ever sat at. After ordering 3 lots of waffles though, we moved to another table which was cleaner. The choice was amazing and only waited 10 mins for our 3 mixed waffles.....which were delicious, and very filling, but the whole cleanliness of the place disappointed me.

This is the second time we have visited and I’ll keep coming back for the crepes!

Came here with my friend to treat her for her birthday, we shared a waffle which was delicious but extremely filling! Despite sharing it I was stuffed, initially I thought it was a little pricey but it is defiantly good value for money. Will be visiting again to try more of the delicious treats on offer.

Food and service amazing. Very helpful when it comes to allergies, my partner has a nut allergy and he ordered the brownie boom waffle not realising there were nuts in it and the young lady named Ella was very helpful and efficient in getting it changed to something different for him. Would highly recommend.

We had been out to dinner and rather than pay exorbitant dessert prices popped in here for a cone. Jeff's cake was a bit sickly but blueberry cheesecake yummy. Will come back. Good value £2 for one scoop £3.50 for two in nice waffle cone.

More and more young people are turning away from drinking in pubs, and this is a good example of the alternative. Always busy and deservably so, this shop serves great coffee and ice creams in a trendy bright shop in Norwich. It is also open till late, making it a great place to visit after a meal out elsewhere (try nearby al dente for fabulous Italian pasta). The coffee etc are very good and the huge range of ice cream will delight. I had a new flavour called Apple Pie, and it was delicious with a nice hint of cinnamon. My wife had a coffee, which smelt and tasted like coffee! Prices are reasonable and geared towards the younger person's budget, but oldies like me will also feel very comfortable and at home. Highly recommended!

Did not enjoy this at all. Service was poor, rude staff. One staff member actually barged infront of me while I was at the counter. Saw another member of staff clear a table and then make a crepe, touching it with bare hands, no gloves. The food was very disappointing, waffle had no taste along with finding a hair in it!! Mint gelato had no flavour either. Spent £35 and wish we hadn’t of gone!!

The staff in this place need to go on some sort of customer service course! They were all rude, right down to the manager, who told us we were wrong (after they put the wrong sauce on a dish) and he refused to give us a discount because it wasn’t their mistake!

So this is probably a franchise place, well feels like it. Yes they have a great selection of popular gelato flavours including turkish delight, snickers, coconut, and the classics. My chidden love it, cool pace to hang out for them as music TV. For me i felt like i was in tourist trap place like London, West End or NYC Times square. the have waffles, and crepes which we didn't try.prob a good place for children parties ( 10-14) . ice-cream was good enough. The authentic gelato is much better at 'Cafe Gelato' in Opie street in London Street, Norwich, much better : small, family owned place run by Italian couple. Now that's proper gelato ....at 'Gelato', of course.. and look at for Pina Colada, and Gin and Tonic special which sometimes pop up there ....

very nice sundaes and gelato , was a fathers day treat , hadnt been before and we loved the food , but thought it was expensive for what you get. Would be a nice place to treat the kids , if it wasnt so expensive.

First time visiting, nothing special, gelato, ice cream , waffles and crepes. My waffle was ok but make better at home. I think £6.50 for a waffle is expensive for nothing special.

Great service! Very quick and friendly staff! Waffles were delicious! And reasonable price! We were on a flying visit to the city , however if we come back again we will definitely visit a second time!

This place is amazing there deserts are out of this world they are fantastically decorated and the shakes are unbelievable. It’s a great place for a desert after a nice meal out, and the price is amazing for the portion size. Already planning my next trip can’t wait to come back again

Took my son here today for a surprise treat, was very busy lucky to have got a seat wasn’t sure how the table service worked whether you wait to be greeted or just find a table as no one came I decided to grab that last table I could see, my son wanted to make make our order which you go to the counter and he had two scoops in a cone then I waited for my ferrero rocher hot waffle which sadly wasn’t hot but it was still nice and enjoyable. I would return yes. As for staff I didn’t come in to contact with them so can’t comment on their service. There is only one toilet which is a disabled toilet on same level as to where you sit.

I took my 7 year old grandson there. He had two scoops and he couldnt finish it, it was massive. I had banana waffle and I finished every last scrap. Went back the next day with the family, straight from school. It was lovely. I need to avoid this place, I’m trying to lose weight. Had a long chat with the owner. Very nice establishment.

Avoid! Terrible waffles are not hot as stated in the menu and when given the wrong order the manager/owner comes out telling us we are wrong and raising his voice however not long after my husband and him have a ten minute argument another couple was complaining how there waffles was eggy !

After a lovely meal at Haggle Norwich we didn’t fancy anything on the dessert menu so we wandered up to Sundaes Gelato. We weren’t disappointed, so hard to choose but we opted for a medium tub of blueberry cheesecake and a double scoop cone of strawberry and mango. To be honest these were ample and only cost £7. If you do want to indulge there are so many flavours as well as crepes and huge sundaes. Its decor is like an American 50s diner and was quite busy for a Thursday evening. Will certainly return and try some of the other lovely looking treats.

The food was really tasty and there was a lot of choice- the perfect place if you have a sweet tooth! However, they had a range of drinks on the menu, so we ordered mocktails, but they didn't actually have them which was disappointing. We had water in the end, but I think that's because they didn't have anything else at the time, and wasn't necessarily out of choice. The only other thing I remember was that the atmosphere was very strange, there was no background music and it was just silent. It wasn't very busy at the time so it was just a bit of an awkward vibe really.

What more could you love then a waffle covered in fruit and chocolate lush 😍 great selection of desserts and ice creams.

First family visit here. Did notice the cleanliness wasn't too good, no attention to detail. Most of the staff's uniforms were very grubby. There were 5 of us and the table was fairly messy after we had finished but I wouldn't have expected the waitress to start spraying the cleaning liquid all if the table with most of it going over our clothes! I did not have a waffle but they appeared to be what the majority of people were ordering. We had a variety of items between the five of us, mine was supposed to have nuts on top, I think I had 3 small pieces. There was no wow factor in the taste. I would not return.

We were a party of 17 people and, although they don't normally take reservations, we were pleasantly surprised that one had been set up for us when we arrived, as I had sent a Facebook message. Can't guarantee that they will do that for everybody.

That was my first time in Sundaes Gelato, I tried waffle and crepe, both of them were really delicious. I will definetely come back here!!

We love coming here for treats as a family & our friends love it too. So many flavours!! Awesome treat!

The name is very misleading. The ice cream they sell is not Gelato, it is just average run of the mill home made ice cream. Very nice variety of flavours but other than nothing special about it. Not very good quality home made ice cream either. You would definitely be better of buying the popular high street variety of ice cream sold at Cinema chains.
