Costa Coffee in Norwich

A usual Costa within the city. The staff are friendly enough, quality of the drinks and food is the same as most Costa branches, nothing to write home about, but no complaints either.

Exceptional service and attention to detail on the coffee. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff.

I discovered this Costa a few weeks ago, usually use independent coffee shops. However, I liked the quiet downstairs area, perfect for working/quiet times. Disappointed that on every occasion I've been since, there is a sign on door saying downstairs closed. Why so often closed? Staffing? It must lose them custom

My sister and I went into Costa in Norwich on Thursday. (I love Costa and visit my local branch in Bourne regularly.) We enjoyed our drinks. Before we left I decided to buy one of my favourite lemon muffins to eat during my journey home the following day. I asked the young man for a lemon muffin to take out. 'Lemon or blueberry?' he asked. I was puzzled as the two flavours don't even sound similar! I repeated, 'lemon, please'. I paid, put the muffin in my bag and we left. The following day, on my way home, I reached into my bag for my treat and was amazed to find a blueberry muffin! Whatever is going on at Costa, London Street Norwich?

I was having issues with my card payment and the nice gentlemen were being very patient and kind with me, plus the drinks were great!

All good but needs updating of the opening times which I suggest now second time. They open at 7:30 am instead of 7 am.

They haven't had any ice for a while, which is a shame since their iced lattes are usually my go-to order, but their hot coffees are just as good, the food is delicious, and the staff are lovely

Costa is a good place to socialise and it has a good choice of snacks. The Oat Milk seemed 'sweetened' which affects the normally great coffee. Please use unsweetened

Arrived at 5.15 when closing at 6 and decided they could not serve us in proper china cups. Apparently the dish washer was broken all day, yet there were other customers not using takeaway cups. Very disappointed by Eva and her team. I have previously used Costa loyally, but give the poor attitude of this shop we decided to use Nero instead. The quality was just as good, and despite the shops closing at the same time, had no problem serving us in china cups. I know which chain I will be visiting in future.

1st time been in this particular Costa, wasn't as friendly.as others in Norwich, food was good, my drink wasn't exactly hot hot, service was very slow, asking me to move close to the person in front so the person behind could scan their card. Could t really move forward at all. No smiley workers at all .

Very cosy place to work and meeting.

Not happy or helpful staff, asked for a sausage bap and nobody was interested in looking, next time I'll try Starbucks or Cafe Nero a little further along! Oh and all the toilets were locked, looking at other comments presumably as they couldn't be bothered to clean them.

Oi, blimey! So, there I was, chillin' in Costa Coffee, right? Munchin' on me cake, feelin' proper posh, ya know? Then, bam! Butterfingers kicked in, cake hit the deck. But the barista, bless 'er, she saw the state I was in and hooked me up with a freebie. No word of a lie, it was like winnin' the cake lottery in the middle of the endz!

Toilet facilities appalling, 2 toilets both saying this toilet is closed, please use the other one. The staff all claim the were unaware but customers, didn't put the note on the doors. Then you get a code on your receipt that doesn't work, by which time you have pissed yourself.

Rather dirty city Costa. Staff meant well and perhaps they were overwhelmed but most tables were covered in crumbs, spilt drinks and detritus. Asked for cloth to clean my table myself but they refused saying they couldn't have customers do that which I appreciate but I wouldn't have minded and would have been quicker. Instead we waited 10 minutes like gooseberries for someone to come and clean rubbish that previous dirty customers had left behind.

Usually great place to go.. but this time the female staff was a bit grumpy with my query (did not see the butter)... Still .. coffee is great... just bad customer service with this particular staff. ....and one more thing... upon checking my receipt I discovered that I was overcharged.. I only bought 1 portion of toast (£2.10), I was charged twice..

The lady dealing with me was rude, I have a hidden disability and don't hear well. I will not attend this costa anymore, I have deleted my account and rather give my money to a company with better customer care. This costa meant to open at 7am but you lucky if it is open by 8am.

Extremely rude staff, especially a lady named Natalie. I went in with my 3 year old and he wanted to use the toilets before ordering but she made us stay in the queue and order and then she allowed to use the toilet. I asked her kindly to use the restroom and assured her that we will order afterwards and anyways she wouldn’t allow us to use it. Thank you

Always great to visit here. Delicious cake and coffee. Not forgetting the free WiFi.

Popped in for a cappuccino and also invested in a travel mug and had a pleasant visit and the staff were friendly and welcoming and won't hesitate in visiting again.

Located on the corner of the market square. A large Costa with a basement seating area for quite a few people. Two toilets. The ground floor toilet is always open and doesn't usually require any passcode to unlock. Usually has a queue, especially around mid day. Be ready to wait for a few minutes to get served. All the usual selections of coffee and snacks, including various baps and sandwiches for a slightly fuller eating experience. Staff are quick and efficient at getting orders out.

Terrible hygiene and bad customer service

Went to the Norwich Market place one was looking forward to a Easter hot chocolate with a free kit kat bunny, upon reaching the counter I was informed they had run out of the free bunny, when I asked what they were replacing it with I was told nothing, my drink had already been ordered I told staff how disappointed I was but they didn't seem to know what to do and asked for payment, there was no apology and continued with the next customer. I felt let down as they are still advertising for a free bunny. Won't be visiting there any time soon.

I was surprised how unfriendly the staff were. There's one of those annoying codes locks on the toilet, only one toilet, and I didn't receive the receipt. Not the best.

Great Costa, friendly and helpful staff. It was very busy when we visited and getting a table at peak times may be an issue. Food and drinks exactly the quality expected of Costa.

Sadly was disappointing. Ordered coffees and cake. Cake was dry and coffee could have been hotter. Expensive.

Staff are extremely unhelpful. Wouldn’t allow us to sit upstairs as they have to close it for cleaning 1.5hrs before closure of the store. Otherwise ok, seemed clean. The only highlight to my visit was that I had two free coffee’s on my app!

We walked by and fancied a coffee, so we came inside. I ordered a flat white which came luke warm and not strong at all. I ordered an oat latte with one shot which instead had two. Although I appreciate it was slightly busy, I would not recommend

A great Costa branch with top-notch coffee, cleanliness, seating and service. Been visiting mostly every week for my coffee fix, recently enjoying the Chocolate Orange hot chocolate and the Toblerone variant. Otherwise, they have a great selection of coffees, teas, and cold drinks for the warm weather. The cleanliness of the seating is always outstanding, with an array of seating to access for eating and drinking in. The service is always great and wait times are decent both in quiet and busy times of the day. 5* will continue to use this branch for well needed coffee breaks.

This Costa is the only one closest to my work and every time I go in here they get my order wrong. Whether I ask for a syrup, no milk, hot milk, decaf, I always either get asked again what I wanted or given something completely different. A clear lack of general communication and understanding.

Definitely the location is fantastic and ideal. The ambiance is good and modern. The service is average, nothing special at all as a matter of fact you will feel rush and the feeling of get out of my face after you've paid. Sorry but it is what I've experienced for so many times I've been there, the reason I still visit the place is proximity to my place and also being do some computer works online while enjoying a cup of coffee and slice of cake.

Visit coincided with Christmas shoppers rush hour. Could have done with some additional staff to clear away dirty crockery. However, staff on duty did their best to keep queue of customers served and satisfied.

Recent reviews suggest people have drank invisible coffee here. It was closed before they didn't visit. Spooky!.

Went in for a latte but they charged more than other stores asked head office said they will investigate as not a franchise. Asked them to double check and they said they can only go by what the till says. Table left dirty too whilst sat there. Not impressed !

This is a nice cafe. It’s clean and comfortable. The prices are reasonable, and the staff are pleasant. The downstairs area is particularly nicely decorated and seems to be much less busy that the other areas. I would recommend this place.

came in today, was going to get a coffee but needed the ladies first. blonde woman shouted "excuse me", came up to me and said the toilets are for customers only, when I said I wanted a drink after she seemed that she didn't believe me and was just rude. I was clearly by myself and I didn't want to leave a drink at a table? I've never felt the need to write a review but it was fairly full but not too busy, most staff were just standing around - including her and her colleague, there was no need to stop me and speak how she did. I left straight after her speaking :) kudos to Chapelfield/chantry costa staff x

I always love a good costa but when we went it was so busy, unclean tables and one super rude member of staff who didn't get my order correct or the lady's in front.

usually the service isn’t too friendly here. however, on this occasion the lady helping me was so so kind and went out of her way for me after the lid slipped off my drink & spilt. she remade the drink for me without me even asking (i would’ve just drank it). it really made a difference and she is an asset to your store. i think her name was blueberry (i may have read this completely wrongly i just about caught a glimpse of her name badge!). if you were all like her the store would feel a lot more welcoming! thank you again

Visited with daughter and granddaughter. Wonderful helpful staff. Very friendly, could not fault them at all. Place was clean and well staffed, everything running smoothly.

I was appalled by the service I received for one of the workers today. I got my drink in a reusable cup (happened to be a Starbucks one) and sat downstairs to do my university work. A worker came up to me and asked if I was a customer here as I had a Starbucks cup, I was appalled by how rude this was as I was sat quietly and she had no reason to question me. I am a student who is trying to reduce plastic, save money and I enjoy the extra bean you can get on the app from using a reasonable cup. She also asked some girls next to me if they were customers because they didn’t have any mugs even though someone cleared their table for them earlier, this behaviour is uncalled for. There needs to be more communication in the store before being rude to your paying customers. As a new store this is a terrible attitude to have as it is going to push away a lot of potential loyal customers. Never had such an awful service from Costa.

Costa can always be relied on for a good quality coffee and the odd gliten free snack. This one was no different.

Always guaranteed a drinkable good cup of coffee. Their coffee never seems bitter and doesn't cause the caffeine buzz or shakes. Service quick no hanging about.

Clean store with really friendly staff

Nice branch, not long opened. Friendly staff and great coffee as always. Downside was only 1 loo there that had no paper left and was a bit soiled by a previous user. 😳

The americano was way too strong, & I like fairly strong coffee.

My partner visited this new establishment on Fri 20-1-22. We regularly use this coffee chain wherever we are shopping or visiting. She will never visit this branch again, there was no seating area left whilst holding a tray long queues of people waiting to be served, she had to ask for the downstairs seating to be unlocked as it was closed! The building was treated more like an office with several four seater tables being occupied by one person on a laptop. When my partners daughter asked for the toilet code she was told rudely it was shut and she would have to go upstairs and join a queue for one communal toilet. If this is an example of a new up and coming branch I think you will have to focus alot more on the training of your staff.

Very new modern look, a good amount of seating including downstairs. The bacon rolls are amazing and the coffee is top notch.

First time I've been in a Costa since pandemic and I wasn't disappointed. The two members of staff worked as a team and was efficient and friendly.

There was plenty of seating available indoors when I arrived, and 2 out of the 3 tables outside were free. I was served fairly quickly considering that it was lunchtime and quite sunny (although still cold when the wind picked up)

Visited Norwich City centre for the first time and the first thing I found was a costa shop,as always the staff were very friendly and helpful.The coffee definitely prepared me for a day of shopping.

Day trip in to Norwich and just wanted a quick refreshing drink. We got a couple of fruit coolers which hit the mark perfectly (apart from the brain freeze... my fault). Plesent staff and quick service. Yes I would re visit 😁👍

Came here on a wet, busy Saturday. I appreciate there was a queue and the staff were busy but the manager (?) shouting at people to stay in the queue was rude and unnecessary especially as she promptly disappeared into the back with another young lady who she was waving to at the door (in normal clothes, so didn’t appear to be staff) and didn’t appear again for the hour I was in there, leaving the young girls serving the drinks and one lady frantically clearing tables - half of which were empty by the time I left. Perhaps if she’d stayed to help out, the queue would’ve died down quicker as half were getting take aways anyway so didn’t need to get a table and as any parent of young children knows, it’s always easier to get them to sit down rather than have them standing in the queue.

Enjoyable break! Visited for a cup of tea whilst I was in the area and waiting for my next meeting. Staff were very friendly, seats were comfy and it wasn’t too loud. Always know what you’re getting with a costa! Would happily return

Reasonable queue for service but everything was fine with my drink. Plenty of tables clean and available. Toilet was clean and tidy. Thoroughly enjoyable, cooling break away from the heat outside
