Booked for the restaurant to save a hunt for a decent restaurant after a long drive/staying in hotel. So expecting a decent meal but little more. What we got was unexpectedly excellent, beautifully presented, generous portions, great and friendly service, pleasingly unobtrusive. Timing of courses just perfect - not too quick, just right. Fast service can be worse than slow. Lovely wine list, fairly priced. Sad to read some of the reviews here, was certainly not our experience at all.

A waste of time and money! This was a Christmas gift from our son and daughter in law. We felt so sorry for them as the whole experience was just so embarrassing! Prior to our artival i rang the restaurant to advise them of my dietary requirements. On the day this was not taken into account as the only option available was the sea trout (salmon) My meal arrived and was luke warm and wet. The roast meals were no better, undercooked yorkshire puddings and parsnips and although tender the roast beef was blue. Our comments were addressed and a reduction was made to the bill but this did not make up for the poor food and our overall dissapounrment. On a plus point the waiting staff were very good.

I was treated to afternoon tea for my birthday and i have to say from the start to the finish it was amazing the service friendliness atmosphere were first class the afternoon tea itself was delicious the cakes were so good you could taste the different flavours in each bite i like my afternoon teas and always went to the assembly house in norwich but after coming here this will be my place to go to for the food and customer service i couldn't recommend more give it a try you wont be disappointed

I was slightly disappointed with my meal, I went for the seasonal pie of the day…. the meat in the pie was delicious and the buttery mash on top was really tasty, but there was approximately 20 silverskin onions in the small pie which was far too many, more onions than meat! The carrots were rock hard, the gravy was tasty in a small white jug but the jug was burning hot and impossible to pick up. I felt the meal was overpriced and unfortunately I won’t be returning. The staff were all very pleasant.

Party of three for Sunday lunch. The food was very good and the staff even better. Special mention for Chris who was very helpful and supportive towards the member of our party who was in a wheelchair. All the food was well cooked and tasty, the portions good size but not stupidly so. Three courses will fit a normal appetite perfectly. The only minor niggle was the crumble which perhaps should have been hotter. There is parking available on site, this is free for diners so long as you let reception have your vehicle registration number. A very enjoyable meal and we will certainly go again.

Last minute booking for an anniversary Sunday lunch (we hadn't decided where to go 😊) Jack looked after us really well. Wished us a happy anniversary. Helped my wife get the perfect red wine 🍷 Sunday lunch started quiet and got to about 1/2 to 2/3rds full. Chowder starter was delicious. Roast beef was not as rare as my wife asked for. Jack did apologise about this as joint cooked in one go. My pork was tasty and huge plate of giant Yorkshire pudding and veg. Sadly no crackling but still plenty to eat. Bar was deserted on arrival. Wide range of local gins. Dessert was a peach alaska. Very pretty on the plate. Tasty and not too sweet. Great service. Food and drink a hit or miss in places. Good value for money we felt

This is an historic hotel close to Norwich cathedral. The restaurant is a fine dining restaurant, and I thought the tasting menu and accompanying flight of wines were reasonably priced. The food was of good quality and staff were courteous.

Came in for a coffee, used the car park. Apparently it’s a £9 minimum spend to use the car park, which I wouldn’t mind but they have a sign out the front saying 1 hour use of the car park is £3, so I’ve just paid £9 for an americano 😪 no music playing in a very quiet atmosphere not inviting in the slightest. Staff very pleasant. Even if you can hear their whole conversations (including about myself) due to no music being played.

I went for afternoon tea at the Maid’s Head Hotel… I’m afraid to say it was probably the worst afternoon tea I have ever had. +: The MH were able to cater for my dietary requirements; the service was ok / to be expected; fair range of tea/drink options. -: The food quality was very mediocre, the pepper and humours sandwiches were dripping with moisture/water; portion sizes were small; upon requesting some more sandwiches, I was charged a surcharge which is not customary for afternoon tea; there was only one scone where usually there is a savoury and sweet one. Drink quality was very average/bland. I don’t think this represented good value at a minimum of £24 per head. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone and in fact I would actively encourage them to attend other local afternoon tea establishments with a much better provision at a very competitive/comparable price.

Great Meal at this restaurant, with superb food in a comfortable environment served by some lovely people. Olivia could not have been better, being attentive without being pushy. She made the evening run perfectly.

My wife and I decided to visit the Maidshead for lunch before returning to work in the afternoon. It was very quiet and we decided to sit in the courtyard. We were very disappointed, the food was average at best, chips were delivered 10 minutes after the rest of the food because "one of the fryers was down".... more likely forgotten. Nobody came back whilst we were eating to see if everything was OK or to see if we wanted another drink. When staff came to clear the plates we ordered more drinks and then waited and waited. My wife got up and walked to the restaurant to see where the drinks had got to. There were more staff than customers and they were laying tables and talking amongst themselves, eventually a waitress acknowledged my wife and delivered the drinks. When asked for the bill and left. A midweek light lunch took over 90 minutes, the food wasn't up to the standard you would expect from a Hotel of this standing and neither was the service.

Food is terrible, staff a waste of time. We had to wait 30 mins for a menu, 40 mins for us to get some water and the meal took 3.5 hours. The service was Just not acceptable . They were shockingly bad. Would be ok if the food blew out socks away, but the food was substandard and tasteless . Hugely disappointed

Great staff but food average. My steak was lukewarm ☹️ Despite a recommendation by our waiter, George, the strawberry cheesecake was stodgy and stale, served along with melted ice cream. Extremely disappointing as we understood that the cheesecake was made in-house.

A very clever and thoughtful menu showcasing some of the best local produce. A truly 5 star restaurant and compliments to the chef. Highly recommended.

Went for Sunday lunch while staying at the hotel. Thinking it would be packed we made a reservation, on arrival took awhile to be greeted and then realised that even the booking was not needed as there were only four more tables with us. Unfortunately the staff was pretty slow and had little knowledge of the wine list and menu in general, however when the roasts arrived they were generous and of high quality. Definitely would recommend for the food, but price and experience overall may mean we’ll give it a miss for a while.

A very poor dining experience. Service was extremely slow and there were clearly problems in the kitchen which the waitress eventually confirmed when challenged, however no one was communicating with us. If there is going to be a delay then someone should be coming and checking on us. Starters arrived after an hour and these were a good standard. Main courses eventually came out 1.5hrs after we sat down after we chased them up. When they finally arrived they were very disappointing and not of aa rosette standard. Lamb was very small, hardly any potatoes which is is a shame after we saw the lamb earlier and it looked good. Beef came out with no jus or potato and had to send it back. I then found a large piece of plastic attached to my beef. The bill was settled in a professional manner by the team but we would have preferred to have been informed of the issues in the kitchen when we arrived as we would have chosen to go elsewhere. We will not return.

We came for the Mother's day Sunday lunch special. The food was good and there were some nice touches (prosecco for the Mum's in the group and a rose plant each) but they completely missed us for the bread course and whilst the staff were very friendly we found it very hard to actually get service and felt forgotten at times. Not sure if it was just a very busy day for them and they were a bit stretched or if we were sat in service blindspot. With so much choice in Norwich I think we'll go somewhere else next year

I never leave bad reviews. Over an hour for starter to arrive, main course was stone cold on cold plates. £187 later we came home and had supper at home because portions so small, we actually left hungry. Unbelievably disappointed. What on earth went wrong tonight? Two tables next to us left early. So awkward . Felt sorry for waiting staff

Went to the Maids Head with friends for dinner and drinks, as it has always been very highly recommended. I’m not sure what’s happened but this place must have lost its wow factor somewhere along the line. I understand that they must have employed Christmas temp staff for the busy period, but if they aren’t going to be trained properly, is there really any point? Service was very poor and unprofessional, I don’t blame them, it’s clear they have no idea what they are doing. Food is mid range price for very low quality, it really does feel quite insulting that they serve food that is so clearly under cooked/over cooked, and do nothing to rectify it. I went through the reviews after visiting and can see that negative reviews are often met defensively and with a poor attitude, hopefully someone will start taking on board what is being said and start proactively trying to bring the maids head back to its former glory, instead of seeing every negative review as a personal attack.

We have already rated the hotel and the restaurant is just as poor. Bad food, waiting staff with no experience, and our reserved table was given to someone else who wanted to canoodle in a corner. Don't even ask what the soup is - they didn't know, then came back with one thing, and ended up with something else. The worst prawn cocktail ever (get one from Sainsbury's instead) and how can you so badly cook fish and chips? A plate full of great hunks of potato that was undercooked and greasy.

A very small Sunday lunch menu with just two meats ,a veggie and one fish . Food was basically pub grub standard with similar service. Forgot to bring the wine . Not cheap!

Thank you for a very nice meal of plaice with lemon butter, potatoes & tenderstem broccoli which was reasonably priced. The wine was a good price as well. Service was ok plus not rushed.

What an absolute shame. Let's start with the service shall we? It took 15 minutes for the lady at the front desk to acknowledge us, which is a little rude (and yes she'd seen us). It's not too difficult to say "I'll be with you in just a sec" or something to that effect. Unfortunately, the service went down hill from there! 30 minutes until your drink order is taken and then your drinks never arrive anyway. You also get to overhear the staff saying some fairly unprofessional things about other customers under their breath, which is fun. Although by the end of the night I actually had quite a lot of sympathy for these "difficult" customers, and suspect they might also just be a bit disappointed at the whole thing. Saving grace for the service, the chap with the beard. He was clearly aware he was on a sinking ship and knew that his colleagues were leaving him to drown, poor chap! Onto the food then? Well you probably should have stopped reading at the service, as the food situation became quite comical...which to be fair was at least entertaining! It took an hour and a half from arriving for a starter to appear at the table, not great, but it could be forgiven if the drinks had appeared, which they hadn't, or if the service had been good, which it wasn't, or even if it just tasted good, which it didn't. I'd already selected the beef for my main at this point, and was quite excited to see a couple of plates of beef go to a nearby table. We all enjoy that little voyeuristic buzz when we spot what we've ordered going elsewhere don't we! Nice tall towers of beef with a pretty ring of mash potatoes went past a few times. Half an hour later, nice tall towers of beef with just a sploge of mash potato went past...huh that's odd. An hour later, when mine eventually arrived (still no drink mind, and not for want of asking!)...it was a small hacked off end bit of beef and a sploge of mash. Oh dear, perhaps the chef quit part way through the night? But how does it taste you ask...much like water, as did the gravy and the mash. That was worth waiting for then. Would you like dessert sir? I had work the next morning and not wanting to take annual leave in order to wait for said dessert, I politely declined. Ah, but what if the ambience you ask? At first glance it's a nice looking place! But at some point through the night you'll ask what's dripping...just don't look at the ceiling...I told you not to look! It wasn't even raining, so I'm not sure where all the water kept coming from...perhaps somebody left their beef on the roof? Final thoughts? There is a lovely courtyard garden. Perhaps if you want a cocktail you might consider it as a good spot to while away an hour or four while you wonder where your drink is!

Lovely meal. Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff. The only negative for me was that when we left, the main door was locked and we had to leave via the hotel entrance. Very difficult for me as I have trouble with stairs and I was under the impression that the disabled access was via the Wine Press restaurant. Looked for a member of staff but the first one I saw was in the reception after my son and daughter in law had helped me climb the stairs!

This is a celebration destination for our family, typically a fine kitchen plus willingness to accommodate my medical needs and friendly waiters. This evening my own two dishes came as standard despite specific and simple requests eg fish with sauce but no veg, and Mozzarella plus dressing ,no salad veg ; also my wife's food left her less happy than usual. It's pricey* we had soft drinks plus one glass of wine , and tonight was frankly a letdown, despite them not being especially busy.

Really disappointing Sunday lunch. The restaurant was pleasantly decorated and the simple menu looked promising. But that's as far as it went. One of our group couldn't finish her starter - an unpleasant pork terrine. Everyone had roast beef for main course which was devoid of flavour. Desert was OK but the coffee was disgusting. Like dishwater. Service was amateur. Quality for price paid was dreadful. We will not return.

Ventured into our fine city for family birthday lunch. Very covid safe. Lovely staff, very attentive and pleasant. Beautiful Sunday lunch. I was concerned as the weather was chilly. The heaters were cosy, no need for coats. Beautifully presented courtyard. A lot of thought has gone into this area. Hope to return.

Beautiful food, superbly cooked and presented. With regard to other reviews mentioning speed of service........go to McDonalds if you want fast food. This is freshly cooked food and will take time. We highly recommend

Extraordinary! Had dinner here while staying in the hotel (also amazing.... junior suites are unbelievable value), exceeded any and all expectations. Beautiful cooking.

This is fine dinning and very good it is too. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. There is a good selection of starters and mains and about 4 or 5 desserts. They do 2 courses for £34 and 3 courses for £ 43. The food is well cooked and presented. There is an extensive wine list. The surroundings are nice and clean and with good Covid19 restrictions in place. The Restaurant was busy but not full and it did take some time for the food to arrive though we were presented with first bread and then a mini starter to keep us going. It was the same for the whole Restaurant so maybe something had gone wrong in the kitchen.

Tuvimos la cena de tres platos como nos quedamos a pasar la noche en el hotel. La comida era muy buena pero el servicio fue lento ya que el personal estaba sirviendo el restaurante y el bar contiguo. Con el hotel muy ocupado debido a que más personas hacen descansos en el Reino Unido, podrían haber tenido otro miembro del personal trabajando en el turno para que el servicio coincida con la comida.Sin embargo, tuvimos una buena noche y disfrutamos de la comida y el vino. El precio es justo si obtienes el paquete de estadía y cena, que esencialmente te ofrece 20 de descuento en la factura de comida para una pareja.

Good food and smart staff. We showed up without a booking on a Saturday evening, but they arranged a table. I liked the scallop and the venison. Good Italian wine even for a Spaniard 😊.

Food delicious, service excellent, mustn’t be missed. Their detail to hygiene and to keep customers safe were second to none. Would recommend highly, you won’t be disappointed.

Food was fantastic especially the chocolate fondant. Bit pricey but as it was a belated birthday meal we accepted it.

Almuerzo de 2 platos 33. Ponga 4 medias cucharaditas de cangrejo en cada esquina de un plato con unos trozos de lechuga y un par de rodajas finas de rábano y algo más. "Main" era un plato de tomate y queso de cabra que constaba de 5 o 6 paquetes de pasta rellenos de queso untados sobre el plato con unas pequeñas rodajas de tomate. Todo bastante sabroso pero muy parsimonioso y definitivamente no vale la pena ese dinero. Este restaurante sacrifica estar ubicado en un antiguo edificio del centro de la ciudad. El personal era lo suficientemente agradable, pero el servicio parecía un poco desordenado con 3 o 4 personas diferentes que parecían estar involucradas en varios momentos para quizás 3 mesas de personas. Disfruté por mi compañía y el (sí, lo tienes) vino un poco caro, pero estaba listo para otra comida 3 horas después. No tiene una buena relación calidad-precio y muy poco ambiente.

Super food, a great evening , a christmas pressie from my wife, we eat in many restaurants, in the norfolk area and this is ONE of the best, super food, the treacle glazed beef fillet wow, well balanced, starters, mains, and desserts, great service aswell, we will be backthank you

Visited here last week for the first time and I was most definitely not disappointed. We visited as it was Norfolk restaurant week so we took the opportunity to try places that we would not necessarily have chosen, and my word am I glad we stumbled upon this little beauty! From the beautiful building and inner decor, to the wonderful attentive staff and of course, the amazing food. Couldn't fault it, has fast become one of my new favourite restaurants in our fine city of Norwich.

Hemos buscado visitar por un tiempo y la semana de restaurantes Nfk / Nch fue la oportunidad ideal para cenar con otra pareja. A pesar de que estaba bastante ocupado, nos recibieron con prontitud y nos sirvieron de manera resbaladiza a pesar de que parecía haber algún nuevo personal que estaba siendo asesorado. Un atractivo menú NNRW ofrecía una buena selección de platos y una buena lista de vinos cubría todos los paladares y bolsillos. Se sirvió un agradable "amuse - bouche" a base de calabaza, seguido de entrantes que estaban todos sabrosos. El plato principal era una mesa dividida entre el filete de salmón y la carne de venado, ambos perfectamente preparados, deliciosamente presentados y sabrosos. Los postres también se dividieron entre el budín de suero de leche y la tarta de piña, otra vez muy sabrosa y bien presentada. No hubo presión para terminar, los horarios eran ideales para comer y conversar. Divertidamente, de alguna manera habíamos ganado un restaurante extra cuando se presentó la factura, pero esto pronto se rectificó. Sin duda es un lugar al que volveremos para explorar más su menú.

We had the little room at the back and the set menu tonight. A big thank you to all the staff for super service and brilliant food. The soup, beetroot roll, venison could all rival the best restaurants in Norwich and London. Once again a big thank you especially as we were celebrating our friends pre wedding. Highly recommended

Nos alojamos en el hotel Maid's Head para una boda familiar y comimos en su restaurante. Buena comida, bien presentada, muy sabrosa entretenida, buena carta de vinos con una buena selección por copa y un servicio amable. Eran las 4. 5 *. La mala selección de pan y la falta de ambiente lo decepcionaron un poco.

Mi esposa había almorzado aquí antes; yo no, pero tenía buenas expectativas.Lamentablemente, a pesar de hacer una reserva, parecía que no nos esperaban y "aparcamos" lejos de todos los demás, y por lo tanto fuera de la vista cuando se trataba de servicio, que estaba por debajo de la media. Teníamos la sensación de que el restaurante no tenía suficiente personal ni interés.Teníamos un horario apretado, pero esto no parecía importarle al personal a pesar de que estaban informados de nuestra restricción de tiempo. Nos llevó un tiempo hacer nuestros pedidos y mucho tiempo antes de que llegara la comida, que para ser sincero, no era tan especial. Faltaban cubiertos que tuvimos que pedir cuando llegó la comida.¿Quizás atrapamos el restaurante en un mal día? Ciertamente esperaba algo mejor dado que estaba organizando el almuerzo para amigos. Es poco probable que regrese.

Excelente valor a los 17. 50 por cabeza para un té de la tarde de calidad en un entorno histórico. La comida estaba recién preparada y la selección de tés era insuperable. La combinación de Maids Head fue perfecta y, desafortunadamente, no pudimos terminar toda la deliciosa comida que se hizo en la casa, por lo que nos ofrecieron una comida para llevar que disfrutamos más tarde. Muy recomendable para cualquier ocasión.

Quite a nice restaurant for a small luncheon in a traditional hotel. Not a big cuisine and the wine list also mentions “Bordeaux” alongside all the other countries of origin. Hello! The Hundred Years' War is over and lost, England! ;)

Mi esposa y yo cenamos en el restaurante WinePress en el hotel Maid Head el 30 de abril de 2019.El estándar de comida era excelente, ya que estaba bien preparado, muy bien presentado y tenía un sabor delicioso.Las bebidas y los 3 cursos fueron servidos de manera oportuna por un personal muy amable y competente en un entorno muy agradable.¡Aunque la cena no fue barata, valió la pena haber tenido una experiencia culinaria maravillosa!

Attended a function at Maids Head Hotel. Whilst the staff were very friendly and attentive and the surroundings were OK it was completely let down by the food. I had a terrine to start which was alright. Beef for main was extremely tough and the ice cream accompanying the unsticky sticky toffee pudding was gritty. I've eaten function food here before and it was ok so maybe they were having an 'off' day. The beer coming out of the tap in the function room was too lively to serve so the poor staff had to keep running back and forth to the main bar to pour pints.

I dined in at the Maids Head Hotel on a Monday night. Monday nights at hotels are usually quiet and often the main chef’s night off, so you don’t always have the best. This food was stunning. There were only four diners but the standard was high. I had a duck confit croquette, followed by venison. All cooked to perfection. I am not a fan of cheffy scrapes or drips, which are often pointless, but these were intense flavours that were essential contributions to the palette of tastes which made the meal an experience. Helpful and attentive staff and a good choice of wine.

Booked before Christmas for an Anniversary dinner but was disappointed on arrival that there was no booking !! Staff were very accomodating and thankfully restaurant wasn’t too busy so fitted us in. Food was very well presented, tasty but expensive. Main course choice was not great with 2 fish dishes but no beef. Desserts were the best part of the meal, absolutely amazing. Atmosphere was chilled as not enough people in restaurant to make it feel warm and inviting. Not sure if we would return.

La fiesta era un grupo de comensales adultos muy viajados de diferentes edades. Ninguno de nosotros pudo entender el menú, así que le preguntamos al personal de servicio y no pudieron explicarnos los platos.

Whilst staying at the Maids Head Hotel we dined in the Winepress and could not fault the food or service. All staff were very approachable and had excellent customer service skills.

Went for Christmas Day lunch at the Maidshead Hotel. Unfortunately, because one of our party was in a wheelchair we could not go upstairs to the Christmas day lunch room and had to eat downstairs with the hotel guests. The staff did not seem happy that we were dining in that room and we were made to feel that we were an inconvenience to them and we should not have been there. We were served efficiently but without a smile and the only time they spoke to us was to ask us to pay for our drinks when we received them, as we were not hotel guests. The food was fine, nothing special (apart from the beef which I was told was amazing). I have been to other Christmas events at this Hotel and it has always been good, so Christmas Day was a disappointment. Maybe if we had been able to get upstairs it would not have been so miserable.

Not complaining about the food, as it was quite good ! Disappointed in the venue , first visit to the Maids Head for Christmas , and will be the last ! No Christmas atmosphere, we were placed in the small room , couldn’t even see the disco from our table ! Funny “L” shape room ! Feel we were changed for an over priced meal , we didn’t dance , as there weren’t enough seats in the dance area!! We went on some where else to continue our festive celebrations !! Won’t be booking the Maids Head again for festive parties !!!! Needs an update badly !!

Siendo la semana del restaurante Norfolk, mi hijo optó por probar la prensa de vino. Fuimos anoche y elegimos del menú fijo. Me encantó tener el amuse bouche (no sabíamos que nos lo ofrecerían) y la comida en sí era excelente. Muy bien preparado y presentado, el servicio fue excelente, al igual que la Rioja!

Nos alojamos en el hotel adjunto y, como el clima era miserable en nuestra segunda noche, decidimos comer. No notamos ninguna información en la semana del restaurante, pero nos sorprendió gratamente que nos ofrecieran este menú cuando nos sentamos. Básicamente, significó que pudimos probar tres platos de los cuales no fue decepcionante ni un solo plato. El ambiente era agradable y el personal atento, conversador y educado. La razón por la que he bajado el puntaje a 4/5 se debe a la administración del hotel del restaurante. Si usted tiene la intención de comer aquí y quiere dar propina en efectivo. Cualquier consejo que se ponga en la tarjeta no se paga al personal de la casa. En su lugar, una vez al año, todo el personal del hotel paga 20. Si hago una propina en un restaurante, espero que el dinero vaya al personal de la casa, ya que suelen ser los empleados peor pagados de la hospitalidad. La política hotelera debería ser más transparente. Sin embargo, la comida y el servicio valían 5/5.

Visitamos con amigos para cenar durante la semana del restaurante Norfolk. El menú disponible era muy bueno, ya que ofrece una muy buena selección a un precio muy bueno. El restaurante en sí es muy agradable y había un ambiente agradable y relajado para una experiencia culinaria refinada. El servicio fue agradable y amable. La única crítica sería que hubo una larga espera entre los cursos, ¡pero habiendo dicho que la comida era deliciosa y que teníamos mucho dinero para mantenernos felices! Sin duda lo recomiendo y volveré.

We booked to take our one year old twins and elderly aunt and uncle here on sunday. Both ourselves and my aunt have Spree books, each containing 2 Sunday lunch 2-4-1 vouchers.

Just popped in for desserts and coffee after an Indian meal elsewhere. Absolutely superb, both in terms of flavours and presentation. Well worth a visit & very reasonably priced

La camarera que nos atendió estaba muy bien informada de todas las preguntas que le hice, el edificio también es increíble. Fue excelente comida de calidad y precios razonables, el vino también era encantador. No puedo esperar a regresar si estoy en la zona. Gracias.

Am Staying in the attached hotel, and after a hell of a drive down. We could not be bothered looking for somewhere else to eat.

This restaurant is seriously good - fine dining at its very best. Service is excellent and food is amazing. Prices are reasonable. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Norwich.

The Winepress restaurant is part of the Maids Head Hotel in Norwich and we ate dinner there during our stay. Initially we were a little uncertain as to the choice of dishes but in the end settled for a starter of Beef tomato and mozzarella, basil mayonnaise, chive crumb, basil cress followed by Dedham Vale filet of beef, wild garlic potato croquette, glazed spring vegetables, jus. Both of these dishes were extremely tasty, especially the beef and spring vegetables. Service was very friendly and the staff demonstrated a good knowledge of the dishes on offer which were provided promptly. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

Took my mum here for her birthday for Sunday lunch. We all really enjoyed our food. Very tasty, and presented beautifully. One of the best places to go for a good traditional Sunday Lunch. Used our spree book too! Highly recommend

Booked Valentine's 5 course taster menu for my husbands birthday

We booked for afternoon last Saturday for my dads birthday No that impressed only 3 choices or sandwiches Cheese scone with no cheese in them And the sweet selection was very dry and tasteless Nothing tasted fresh apart from sandwiches

This New Years Eve was our second visit to this impressive hotel, our first being New Years Eve 2015 for the Candlelight Dinner and we enjoyed a splendid evening.

Four of us booked Sunday lunch for New Year's eve. Although I did experience a problem with booking a table, when we got there everything was fine. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful, if perhaps a little i experienced. We enjoyed our Sunday lunch

Without doubt the best restaurant we have found in Norwich so far. The food cannot be faulted and is presented with the highest standards of service. The only downside is that the bar is somewhat expensive.

Well I dont have a review as i can"t aparently book for Christmas Day unless you have email them! Why wait a few days for a reply back when a simple call could tell you wether there is a space available for lunch Christmas Day. So sorry Maids head....I shall telephone somewhere else.

This was a pleasant dinner: very little in the way of presentation, but the food was tasty if a little dull. Some staff training would help for those with food allergies.

I have to say this was the worst afternoon tea I have had .very expensive. Bread was hard on the sandwiches..tea and coffee was bought out a long time before any food was delivered so was cold. Deserts all tasted the same ..sickly hazelnut mousse/cream ..overall would not recommend. The room was filthy .dirty walls dusty tables ..disappointed

Popped in on the off chance for Sunday lunch using my spree book. Really good. Had whitebait and then the roast beef. All very tasty and couldn't fault the food at all. Definitely recommend.

Me and a few friends enjoyed a really nice meal in the Wine Press, great service and the food was amazing, the Chef Barry and the kitchen staff out done themselves. I would definitely visit again, every course was very enjoyable and presented perfectly. 5 stars *****
