The Adam and Eve pub was a really nice place to visit. It's the oldest pub in Norwich and dates from 1249, so it's full of character inside and out. We had a meal here today, which was plentiful and delicious. The staff were polite and friendly and very welcoming.

It is the oldest pub In Norwich and one of the oldest in Great Britain. It’s only 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral. Very pretty and quaint small building with very cosy and comfortable spots to sit inside and plenty of tables outside. I couldn’t resist having a glass of Mosaic pale ale and I liked it very much. The place gives you a touch of history and good options of different enjoyable drinks.

Great little pub and apparently very old. The atmosphere is really nice but the food unfortunately is really bad. For a place that is so old and would potentially get tourists over just to feel the vibe of such an old pub it would be worth investing in some better food.

Refusing to provide a group of young adults purchasing a round of drinks tap water. The barman was extremely rude and treated them with contempt. The land lady later attempted to explain herself but by then the damage was done. A reminder to the land lady that it is a legal requirement for licensed establishments (such as restaurants, pubs, and cafes that serve alcohol) to provide free tap water to customers on request. This requirement is part of the Licensing Act 2003 (Mandatory Licensing Conditions), introduced in 2010 to help promote responsible drinking. So you have in fact broken the law and I do hope that when reviewing this feedback you apologise and explain what you are doing to ensure this is not repeated. Those impacted last night would have every right to report you to the authorities for breaking the law and you need to act more responsibly.

Lovely pub with great food and nice service. Cozy atmosphere, not in the middle of the city center so not packed with people and the food was delicious. Big portions, the pie crust was OUTSTANDING, the mash was nice and still had some pieces of potatoes which I love and the veg was cooked to perfection. The meat was slightly overcooked but it went quite unnoticed in the heaping amounts of gravy. If I ever come back to Norwich I’ll be back!

Real Ale, real people, real nice place to spend time. Spent a happy few hours on an August summers day. Rita and her staff offer a traditional English pub for those seeking a quiet time. On 9 May, 2024 I visited the Adam and Eve pub, for the first time in almost 50 years! This pop was the first pop I ever visited in my life. Upon arrival, I recognize the beautiful surroundings and the magnificent structure, and atmosphere of the pub. I noticed that the characteristic, and historic downstairs portion of the pub was roped off! There were about two or three customers sitting in the downstairs section, and I could not understand why the bartender would not allow anybody else down there! after waiting for a few minutes, the bartender, reluctantly, came upstairs and acted as if we had interrupted his social time! Even my partner, who is usually extremely forgiving, commented how rude and how abrupt this man was! I mentioned to the man that I had not been to that pub for almost 50 years, and he made a very derogatory comment about my age ! I found it necessary to buy this managing Antonick in order to get him to be slightly more pleasant to us! It is such a disappointment that such a beautiful and historic pup should be represented by such an unpleasant person. On my next visit, I shall visit the pub again, hoping that that person would not be behind the bar at the time of my visit. 🙏

A 15 minute wait to order, and then a HALF AN HOUR for a single bacon roll. Food was ok but you can’t really go wrong with a bacon roll🥲. Service was absolutely awful, although staff were kind they didn’t seem to be doing much to hurry along with their job, serving food. I and another man went in to ask after about 20 minutes, and they said they would check if they had it. Another 10 minutes later, they finally came out with a steaming hot bacon roll, as if they had forgotten to cook it and that my nudge was a reminder? Bacon takes about 6 minutes to cook. NOT.THAT.HARD. You would’ve thought that with all of the clout and popularity they receive, that they would know how to organise a cafe, they don’t.

I booked Sunday lunch for 3 people, my wife and I + our son, our son came to meet us at the restaurant and we knew this restaurant well albeit from 10 yrs ago, we ordered drinks, ours arrived and our son ordered coffee when it arrived, he poured it and it was just pale water in the cafetière? He talked to a waiter who apologised and said he would remove it from the bill, he promised to replace the drink our son waited 10 minutes nothing arrived our son exited and said goodbye, we ordered our meals in the hope it couldn’t get any worse, the food arrived and looked very nice, we had loin of pork with seasonal vegetables, unfortunately some chef also added a cauliflower sauce in two blobs (No Cauliflower) with a rich gravy, I started on the food and moved the white sauce to one side, unfortunately my wife’s meal her sauce had mixed with the gravy and looked awful, my wife’s meal was only half eaten I did have mine as was hungry, I wish now we had left with our son, I went to pay of course they didn’t take the coffee off the bill.until I pointed it out! He said you should have said something we told two of the staff but nobody tells anybody else ! They did take off the service charge, what disappoints me more than anything else is we don’t see our son often as he work away and I knew he would remember the Maids head restaurant where we used to go years ago. We will remember this visit for all the wrong reasons.
