Best coffee and service in Basildon

Lovely pub which has retained its old world charm, friendly bar staff and management. Pete was really helpful and welcoming. Our evening meal much better than we expected - freshly prepared and great choices. Breakfast simply excellent. We took our dog and the room was more than adequate with easy access to outside for early morning walks. On site parking, lovely position and pub garden. Easy walk into Southwold or catch the ferry. We had a great time and plan to return.

We travelled from Scotland to stay with family in Norfolk. We used to live in Bury St Edmunds so thought it would be a nice idea to return and visit some old haunts. We dropped our bag off late morning and the lady couldn’t be more helpful. We returned to book in after 3pm and Anna showed us to our room which was lovely, clean and had everything we needed. I slept very well and the breakfast the next morning was fabulous. I had the avocado smash and my husband had the fully cooked breakfast. Anna again served us and was pleasant and efficient. Would definitely highly recommend and we will be returning in the future. Thank you so much.

Claimed my 'free' drink which was great. Used my own cup so I got another stamp. Bit quiet upstairs.

Management has her 3 children cleaning the shop during interviews and other members of the public clean the shop while children run around with brooms while she tells them off, can't enjoy coffee here won't be coming again

We always stop now to have a hot drink and snack on our way back from visiting clients or family because of the later opening hours (7pm!). Lily's a favourite. Good job Coca-Cola. Keep being customer-focused

Coffee is always served quickly and never have a problem. Staff are friendly and chatty too.

Amazing value food in an interesting setting

When I came in there were two amazing girls on shift a blonde and a curly haired brunette both were so friendly thank you guys !

Lovely coffee, atmosphere and service

Fantastic, helpful staff. Lovely food. We hosted a baby shower for a friend. The staff were so helpful and kind. Nothing was too much trouble. They helped us set up decorations, move bits around, not too mention the Sunday lunch was fab. We will definitely go again.

Terrible, been told been barred As customers have made complaints, why not tell me customer , customer weekly banter all the time, however landlady would not tell landlord why I’m barred till today

Stayed for 1 night Positives -good food portions -good traditional menu -greeted nicely on arrival -quiet location - bedding clean - bed comfortable - clean white towels - lots of free toiletries - coffee/ tea provided in rooms -nice pub garden aimed at children eg goats, rabbits, climbing area -close enough to the beach (short drive) -everyone was respectful in terms of noise. -free WiFi -tv / dvd Negatives -our room had no window! It was stifling hot so lack of sleep. -some discrepancy whether we could get food or not in the evening. Customer service could’ve been better at this point -mould around the bath/shower (Could you add sweeteners to the tea and coffee please) We would come back if we were provided with a room with a window.

Back at the cross keys sports bar when visiting Peterborough for work. Two pool tables, two dart boards setup in their own area. They kindly hosted a company darts event for us a few months ago and the team enjoying the evening we will be doing it again in the summer. Monday night is league darts night, and Thursdays is league pool night, so avoid these nights if you are after using the dart boards. Huge screen and lots of smaller screens for sports, and a decent beer selection.
