My partner and I thought we would go for breakfast not something we do regularly so we thought we go local and went to sunshine cafe. We sat at our table was all clean and young girl came and took drinks ordered. She bought the drinks over I order vanilla milkshake which was warm but I didn't say anything just drunk it, she took our breakfast orders at same time as delivering our drinks. we both ordered the normal breakfast egg bacon sausage etc. After we had ordered a table of 3 arrived who sat near us. after around 10 minutes they had made there orders of breakfast. we were still waiting. A waiter who been there a long time as seen him before took there drink with big smiles to had little chat. and we were still waiting. Then few mins after there drinks had arrive the same man bought out there 3 breakfast which were all full English toast etc with big smile told them to enjoy all very friendly. Again we were still waiting. The table of 3 were tucking in to there's the waiter asked them all OK. and us still waiting few mins he finally bought out breakfasts but with no friendly smile no chit chat he just plonk down our breakfasts and went of, came back with our toast about 5 mins later and again no friendly smile just put toast on table and went. He made feel uncomfortable like because we weren't regular visit to the cafe he just drop his mood. Although the breakfasts were fine apart from eggs not runny and toast a little cold not bad for the price. but because we were made to feel uncomfortable. And service people in front of who came in way after us. So we just eat the breakfasts quite quickly paid and left. We won't be returning to receive a different kind of services to customers who been in the cafe a few times.

Food was ok. Miserable fella working in there though. Didn't feel much in the way of sunshine. Wouldn't go back. Not very dog friendly either, despite what they say.

I love this café, the food is fantastic and great value too. Huge choice on the menu too. The owner is fantastic character, but he genuinely takes no prisoners. If wet, fussy Muppets grumble about daft things or create unnecessary drama, he just asks them to leave. He's a gent if you treat him with respect, he's fun and good at his job, serving great food at a great price. The bikers love him, the cyclist love him, families love him and the older generations love him, the pretentious few, they are not so keen. We'll be back.

Was about to order a roast. Ordered drinks and needed a glass of tap water. Was told he would not give as running a business. Like many they do but I thought this petty considering I ordered drinks, was gonna eat and get pudding. Got up walked out and he lost approximately £40 over a glass of tap water.

Blokes a bully with no people skills, if you complain you get told to get up and leave and this includes the elderly….food genuinely ok in my opinion but the owner is a complete bully boy…. Not sure what world he lives in, decides it’s cash not card when it suits him…. Horrible man

I visit this cafe quite regularly just for coffee won't be going again cafe owner was rude and aggressive all because a friend wanted to pay for coffee when she ordered them it was nothing to do with me but he decided to argue with me I stood my ground more people need to stand up to him bullying behaviour

**PLEASE AVOID** Hi we arrived for a bit of food and drinks over breakfast time, Ordered my breakfast which said it come with tea and coffee so was free with the breakfast, So i ordered a cappuccino which is a coffee no issues at all when ordered, When i come to pay he put a charge of £2 extra on my bill because a cappuccino isn't a coffee he said and not included. Explained even your waitress agreed which she confirmed to me it was included. Owner aggressive and rude when questioned. PLEASE AVOID!!!!

The food was really good the waiter who took our order was polite welcoming and helpful, however when I came to pay at the counter the guy at the paypointt said no payment by card only cash in a very 🤝 rude tone,in fact he was like a bulldog chewing a wasp ,I said I needed to ask wife for some money,when I came back to pay the customer in front of me was paying by card,so I said I thought you said no card,with that he slammed the card machine on the counter to let me pay y card he ,if he is the owner needs to go on a customer relations training coarse This brings to mind TAX EVASION.

This place came recommended by somebody. The welcome was a grunt from a dribbling imbecile. He was not interested in a brief polite exchange, ok I can deal with that, I can be a bit insular if the mood takes. I must say that the service was extremely quick which suited my schedule. The snorkers, (old naval word for sausages) were of a quality that I wouldn’t offer up to my dog. Stuff this, I thought, I’ll go with the sauces to smother the taste. Opting first for the Heinz’s Tommy sauce. It was vomit inducing, certainly not Heinz. Sugary & runny, I wretched! Quick change of plan, they got HP and it looked like a new bottle. On it went … blurgh! Awful. Quick, I thought have a large gulp of tea, heave! It tasted strongly of fish. And with that, went the 15% tip straight back into my pocket. Possibly the worst dining experience I ever had. Consequently not going back. If anything, I’ll go across the street to Spoons. And this a clear indication of just how bad it was. Don’t chance it folks!

I am working locally and have called in most Sat / Sundays for 2 take out teas. I called on Saturday 29th Jan and was told the tea machine was out of order. I called today and was asked" why do you come here and ask for two teas?.". I responded with you are a cafe. I was told " I am not serving you teas. I confirmed he was refusing to serve me. He was shouting and was very rude. He was happy for our custom during lockdown. Would not recommend . I have taken my business elsewhere and when I do fancy a cooked meal one lunchtime I will not go to the Sunshine Cafe. This family does not deserve the custom... Plain Rude!!

Went today to get some lunch for the family and the man that served us was nothing but rude. Firstly he ignored us when we first walked in! When he finally took our order when we went to pay I tried once using my phone and he said the payment didn’t go through and that I needed to use my card, I used my card as contactless and he said the payment didn’t go through again and needed to put my pin in I proceeded to do so when I was putting my pin I accidentally dropped the card machine and the man was screaming and shouting at me. As I thought the man was rude I took my card from the machine and left. When I got home I checked my bank and the money had been taken out of my bank 3 times. THREE LOTS OF MONEY GONE FOR NO FOOD AND EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF! Will not be going back again!

11 of us enjoyed a really tasty breakfast in here this morning. The food was cooked just right. The mugs of tea were spot on to our requirements. Prices very good value for money. All the staff were friendly and obliging. Clean, bright and sunny in every way. Highly recommended. 10 star plus

Great place for lunch and very accommodating - in the pretty market square of Whittlesey. We stopped after a 30 mile bike ride and as it was sunny the owner brought tables and chairs outside for all of us; noting was too much - good cafe food and very reasonable.

So today me and my partner thought we would try go out of town for a nice breakfast we decided sunshine cafe when we walked in we were not greeted we sat down wherever and was waiting 20 mins to order when we did have some one take out order we asked the man could we change a few things on our breakfast the mushrooms black pudding and tomatoes as we do not like them he replied huh huh? No I cannot do that eat else where if problem .. me and my partner were shocked we had 3 different plates of food come to our table that weren’t ours when we finally received our food it was all wrong we brought it to the front told them you have forgotten some food we ordered and they were full on screaming and shouting and bassicly fighting in the kitchen half of the cafe left I was honestly disgusted with the level of respect given and the rudeness was unreal Then after half the cafe customers left they shut the place due to the chiefs fighting and screaming in the kitchen WILL NOT RETURN !!!

Went there today for breakfast owner obviously looked under pressure would listen to the order I gave him got it all wrong I said this is wrong. If you don’t like it go elsewhere he said so I did won’t be going there again that for sure.

I can’t say that I was made to feel particularly welcome here. Perhaps it was because I only dropped in for a coffee while passing through the town. Perhaps the proprietor doesn’t like motorcyclists. It looks inviting enough from the outside. Once inside, the Sainsbury’s shopping trolly and Christmas decorations still up in July rather lets the side down. Also a bit disappointing that my request to sit upstairs was met with the firm instruction to sit downstairs, despite the nicely framed notice at the bottom of the stairs. Perhaps social distancing hasn’t caught on yet in Spalding. I can’t vouch for the food as I didn’t have any, I dare not ask!

Stopped here for a breakfast on a cycle ride to Norfolk, sat outside. Food and service were both good. Loo was spotless!

Came here after reading reviews on TripAdvisor And was very disappointed the full english breakfast I had was of very cheap quality and for £8 wasnt worth half that If you want a decent breakfast try elsewhere as they will all be better than this...

My husband, son and I called in for some dinner, the tables were nice and clean, the server came over immediately and took our order, our drinks were delivered extremely fast and so was our food. We all enjoyed our meal.

Milkshake watery as anything just tasted like vanilla milk My baguette was soggy and not crispy. The pace was busy but I sincerely hope the food was better than what I got.

Visited on a Saturday lunch, food was good but the service left a lot to be desired, felt rushed into ordering our food and the pice de resistance, starting clearing and cleaning our table whilst someone was still eating their lunch, wouldn't rush back

Great choice of Breakfast menu from the small to the sublime, our first visit so we went large and had the Sunshine which included toast and beverage. Waitress service very efficient and friendly. The extra large plate was full and very tasty and came out in quick time. A re visit for me is a must.

I'm generally not fussy when it comes to a greasy spoon breakfast but this place was awful. The waitress was impatient, the eggs were overdone, the sausages were cheap and the ketchup was sugary and disgusting. Even the tea tasted bad. My partner (even less fussy than me) barely ate his breakfast and i left most of mine. I wouldnt recommend and i wont be returning.

I used to really like this place I had been visiting for 10 years but I feel now its often charge what you want and not what it should be. Today for example ordered a double cheese burger with salads no chips a can of coke and my sons kids meal. 3.90 for kids meal 4.20 cheese burger. Meaning I was charged £2.30 for a can of coke. Which wasn’t right. It’s not the first time. It’s just once too much for me. Bye sunshine cafe!

Four of us went for brunch today (Sunday 20th), 2 x two poached eggs on toast, 2 x teas, a latte, breakfast A and a veggie breakfast both with toast and tea/coffee included for less than £24. Good value for money as the portions are a healthy size and very friendly and quick service. Always busy but never been unable to get a table. Very clean, we recommend this little cafe.

Quick service, food quite good and if in a rush fills the gap. Prices are reasonable. Sunday dinner is always full and often can’t get a table quickly, but is very popular. Yes I do use it occasionally as they do a lovely hot mokka.

Been here a few times and the staff are always very friendly. Usually have an all-day breakfast (there are a few different options to choose from) with toast and a latte. Food and drinks are always hot and the service is very quick. Good place to go if your in / around Whittlesey or passing through and want decent food at a very reasonable price.

Popped into town to do a few jobs. Went in for lunch. Been a few times and never been disappointed. Had plaice and chips. A whole plaice! Cherry pie and ice cream and tea. Service was as good as the food tasted.

A typical cafe offering a wide range of good food. Basic menu including all the traditional favourites and a great breakfast menu. My first visit for a few years since moving out of the village and I was not disappointed.

We stopped at Spalding for some lunch on our way to Norfolk. We didn't want a 'pub' lunch and came across the Sunshine Cafe by chance. It looks quite basic from outside but had quite an extensive menu so we decided to give it a try. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the place was clean and the food was very good, freshly prepared and very tasty. It isn't fancy but if you just want good food at a reasonable price you can't go far wrong. Would recommend.

Mum and I came here, as we occasionally do, and decided to have the fish finger special. What a lovely meal!! The salad was plentiful, and there were just enough chips to go with the 8 fish fingers, which were very tasty. Nothing is too much bother for the staff, and the atmosphere is so friendly and inclusive. Keep it up guys! Well done.

My husband and I stopped here on the morning of the Bus Fest and ordered breakfast. I didn't want the beans and so was offered a replacement without a bat of an eyelid. The breakfast arrived promptly; was clearly freshly cooked and was delicious. The waiting staff were friendly and polite. The prices were very reasonable - I've paid a fortune for breakfast before now; nothing like this good. We will definitely be back again when we are next in Whittlesey.

A place run by people who don't care about ingredients. Nasty cheap sausages, bacon, bread rolls and everything else as far as I could see. The tomato sauce summed up our visit - pale and tasteless, and easily the worst ketchup I've ever seen

Quick stop decision as neither of us could be bothered to cook!!! We all have them days right? We got there about 6pm they close at 7pm 7 days a week. We were greeted by a polite young lad and told to pick our own table. As I'm disabled I like to be able to move without the worry of encroaching on others space..i had this. Our drink orders were taken not a huge selection but what you would expect from this kind of establishment. We then had the decision to what was going to be for our meal. The menu is vast again selling what you would expect. I had burger and chips and my wife had omelette and chips. Both meals were fab no grease in this cafe(phew) great prices so we will be going back. It's good to support your small local businesses. Well done guys keep up the good work

This was our second visit. Nice little cafe. No frills basic good food. Service excellent. Cleanliness very good. Okay the menu isn't too varied, don't expect a great divergence of food. What you get is a good very basic English menu.

Popped in here to have a chat with colleague off site from local office. Was very surprised by how reasonable the prices were! The food was good, not Michelin Star but I loved it. Had the top breakfast and my colleague had burger and chips. Cant fault it, staff polite and service swift. Would certainly recommend if in the area.

Ham salad was enormous. Tea hot and just right. Busy but got seated straight away. Waitresses both very good at their jobs. Food arrived quickly. All round very good indeed. Clean and friendly.

The folks that come in here don't know good food when ever they have it as the breakfast was just appaling, poached eggs on toast they couldn't get that right, service rubbish, if you want good food go to the ( not just cafe ) next door to the library..

Primera visita en años. El lugar ha sido ampliamente remodelado. Menú muy completo. Los precios son buenos. Porciones increíble. El desayuno durante todo el día es grande. Las ensaladas son muy buenas y la chaqueta spuds tienen un montón de abastecerse. Las bebidas calientes son calientes no calientan como muchos cafés. En general una buena experiencia.

Bueno, seamos honestos, Sol Cafe no es un restaurante gourmet, no es una alimentación sana y no superhub el lugar para una cena romántica con su amado. Pero lo que es un favorito whittlesey. Whittlesey Wimpy para si. Un café barato y alegre, con un menú lleno de gente cabía placeres gustativos. Desde hamburguesas y perros calientes a patatas al horno y ensaladas. Y una selección de abundantes desayunos cocinados con tiempo suficiente para mantenerte durante un mes. Las raciones son generosas (casi demasiado generoso! ) y muy sabroso. El lugar es limpio y recientemente renovado y el personal es amable y atento.

Este es un café bien presentado, limpio. Ideal para un bocado rápido o una comida de burlar del vientre! El amable personal es servicial y rápido. Nada es caro y las porciones son generosas. Honesto Fayre, nada extravagante.

Whenever I visit Peterborough I always eat at the Sunshine Cafe. Lovely friendly staff, really good food at excellent prices. I can really recommend this restaurant, I used to eat here when I lived in Peterborough now it is my regular haunt when I come visiting. Great place, great food and friendly staff.

Went out of our way to go here for a light bite to eat as it has always been so goodand great value.Things started badly when I asked the waitress for my tea to be served with very little milk - it came weak and loaded with milk!The sauces were removed from the table as we sat down (?) and returned halfway through our meal (with ketchup dripping all over the outside of the bottle which my partner got covered in when she moved it to its rightful place on the table). I informed a waiter but was met by a look of indifference and no action was taken!My prawn sandwich was just that; a pile of prawns in between two slices of bread. Marie Rose sauce arrived in a crusty jar with the top removed.My partner struggled with her breakfast sandwich due to the poor quality ingredients and excessive grease.Upon leaving, there was none of the usual cheery banter or enquiry into how our food was - I guess they knew they hadn't given us a great time!Probably know we will look elsewhere in future too!

We visit the Sunshine Cafe at least once a week. Breakfast, lunch or dinner we've had it all. The staff are all very nice and welcoming. The food is fabulous value for money, always cooked well, always tasty and always plenty on your plate. The cafe itself is always kept very clean even when busy. We will continue to visit the Sunshine Cafe as regularly as we do.

Myself and husband came here on a Sunday for lunch.Service was very quick ,portion size was very good ,food was cooked lovely and meals are definatley good value for money.Well worth a visit.

It's a typical caff - good decent food, no frills, good prices. You don't go to a caff for Cordon Blue - you go for 'greasy spoon' snap! It's always busy when I walk past so that says something in itself. Everything is reasonable, nothing spectacularly good or bad - good friendly service, what more do you want from a caff? You want more upmarket go to Fontanella's. Highly recommended for what it is.

My wife and I visited Sunshine Cafe in January 2016. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, the food arrived quickly and was hot and tasty. The location is perfect in the main town square with parking just outside. If you are passing through and need a quick bite, this is the place.

It is a little little cheap-eats place. for the price you pay it is definitely worth having a meal of some kind in this cafe. I will (and often do) visit this place and i will continue to do so

I took my youngest son for lunch at the Sunshine Cafe a couple of weeks ago and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The kids portions are a good size and the range of dishes is great. I'm tempted to go back this weekend for a late breakfast, but might have to take both boys with me next time.

Stopped in with my lad for a breakfast. This place is always busy so surely a sign of good food. No complaints from me, all cooked well with nice big portions. Will be back before long.

I have heard many good things about the cafe and was happy to go along when a friend suggested we went there for breakfast. My friend pointed out the black pudding as he knows I like it. This persuaded me to have a full English breakfast.The meal came. It was not particularly spectacular. The mass of beans were runny but I'm no expert of beans. There were two pieces of black pudding which was a regular sized piece of round supermarket black pudding sliced in half. These were crisp like.I don't know why you would want to serve it like this at all.Sorry but the black pudding was very poor. I will go back I am sure to give the Sunshine cafe another try because I only live 800 metres away. I had expected better.

Whilst shopping, for quickness, I popped in for a quick cheeseburger. These are pictured and described on the menu with salad and onions. My cheeseburger arrived without any relish looking very dry and unappetizing. On pointing this out the salad and garnish were added. Service was quick as usual and the young waitress friendly.I was disappointed as I have never left bad feedback for this place and have always found it great with good value and well presented food.Perhaps an off day!!I will give them another chance and hope for better next time.

My son, his wife and I eat here a lot. Especially when I have to work Sundays and can't be bothered to cook a lunch when I get home. The gammon steak rivals anywhere locally and the omelets are lovely. Shepherds pie very tasty and lots of it. The chef will mix and match whatever you fancy from the menu. The burgers and baguettes are also very good. Always friendly, quick service. Great value for money and sooooo very handy parking for free.Can't fault it. Well done and keep it up. See you soon.

At first I thought it was just a standard cafe serving up a fry and a hot drink. BUT NO. AND RESTAURANT!? It serves up beautiful dishes including lasagnue, pies, spaghetti (and fry ups)Every birthday, christening, valentines day, wedding, hanukkah, bonfire night, wednesday. I find any excuse to go there and eat with such welcoming company of staff. They will save you from a terrible hang over.Would recommend to anyone!Great stuff.

Have eaten here a few times since moving to the area. The food is always good and the all day breakfastis lovely. Jacket potatoes are huge. I asked for extra cheese and I think there must have been half a pound on this massive potato I couldn't manage it all. The tea and coffee is always hot and fresh. The menu choice is very good, something for everyone. I deal for a lunchtime visit and the Sunday breakfast is very good and very cheap.

I have been a few times now & they are always great! Wide choice, even vegetarian, with extras, without extras, just how you like it. I would highly recommend, always friendly, always clean, always fresh. Best in town!
