I’m a regular at this place and I can’t recommend it enough! The service is amazing and I will definitely continue coming back!

I come for breakfast every weekend and the food is incredible and the service is amazing. Staff are beautiful and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Absolutely fabulously delicious lunch and cocktails. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Our waitress Leah was superbly friendly and accommodating inquiring whether we had any allergies and was informative about the menus and checked during our meals if everything was satisfactory..The service was excellent, smooth and efficient. Can totally recommend. Can’t wait to go again!

My sister and I had lunch, it was lovely. Well presented and hot. Staff are friendly. The barman advised us to have the lunch deal which is better value than buying a drink and meal separately. Will definitely go again when in Brentwood.

Extremely DISAPPOINTED booked for my friends BIRTHDAY the bottomless brunch . Well what can i say didn’t stay snd wont ever set foot in the place again !!! The place was absolutely dead ( only one other table in there ) me and friend had the bottomless and the birthday girl cousin turned up and was told she had to sit on a different table as she wasn’t bottomless:O. I informed staff the cousin was only having a quite bite to eat to give presents and then leave as she had work but said as not bottomless had to sit on a separate table. I myself who work in this industry think this so called rule is outrageous especially on someone’s special day . We obv had to leave and no one else to go as short notice , so thankyou for ruining my friend’s birthday. Avoid like the plague !!!!

Had a great night learning how to make cocktails with the lovely Percy. Prosecco, pornstar martinis, espresso martinis and then a surprise jaegerbomb too. We were sat upstairs in what felt like our own VIP area before heading for what was really nice food on a nice table at the back downstairs. The 6 of us were very well looked after and it was excellent value for money. Thanks to Percy and the manager for ensuring we all had a great evening!

I visited this morning with my husband. We ordered a breakfast meal and our tea was brought out after 15 minutes of waiting. We waited a further 35 minutes for our meals. It wasn’t busy in the restaurant at this time so it was very frustrating. I asked the barman for an update and he went to the kitchen to find out. He then didn’t report back to me, instead he went back behind the bar to finish some cleaning (not to serve any customers I must add). I then had to go and ask him again to find out what the update was. We weren’t given any milk with out pots of tea, we had to ask another waiter for this. Additionally, when the barman took our order, I asked if it was possible to swap an item on the breakfast menu for a different one, which he agreed to and processed. However, my meal never came with the alternative choice and I had to ask for this. The venue was clean but the service extremely slow and lots of little errors that made the experience frustrating and not enjoyable. We won’t be back.

My friends and I had such a great night on my birthday Cocktail making masterclass. We learned how to make our favourite cocktails and also had plenty of nibbles, Prosecco and bombs!! Maddie was a brilliant teacher and made the experience really enjoyable. We wasn’t rushed and I was made to feel really special. We then stayed for the night with music and 2 for 1 cocktails. Would definitely recommend for any celebration or meet up!

Brunch drinks menu not great, however the 2 staff Stephen and Henry were very accommodating and on the ball. Made us very welcome and we’re helpful when needed, all in all a very enjoyable 2 hours.

Went here with a few ladies, for our mummy’s Christmas dinner. Staff were very friendly and more than happy to help. The table was decorated with Christmas hats and crackers. The place was clean. It was 2 for 1 cocktails all night, so we made the most of it. Cocktails are reasonably priced and delicious. We eat from the Christmas menu. What we had was nice and very flavoursome. The potato’s that came with my beef dish was amazing!!!The reason I didn’t give a 5* was that, although the plate was hot, the beef was just warm. Not hot enough. The wine glasses are absolutely disgusting - covered in water marks from the dishwasher which, ok, are harmless but really not conducive to enjoying a nice glass of wine. Add to that the numerous lipstick marks around the rim and it just doesn’t make for a pleasant experience. Went back to the bar to ask for a clean glass and even the barmaid had to pick three more glasses before she found one she felt was acceptable. Unfortunately that was little better so I just got a napkin and cleaned it as best I could. Management please take note!

Booked a table here via Open Table. Arrived 15 minutes earlier - no one to greet you to show you to the table, I stood at the bar for 20 mins (along with at about 10 waiting to be served drinks/food). Getting frustrated I walked into the seating area and spoke to a waitress to ask who I speak to about by table booking. She spoke very little English..and after walking around the bar she finally showed me to a vacant seat right next to the bar under the stairs I asked if this was the table I had booked and she looked at me blankly.She spoke to another lady behind the bar who asked me what the problem was, was I asking for a ‘tab to be opened’ I explained I had a booking and would like to be shown to the table I had booked in the eating area and not just a spare one in the bar. .....was told I wasn’t on the booking form so I showed my confirmation via Open Table - the lady then appeared to be aware of my booking but by that time I not only was so frustrated I had no time to eat due to a theatre booking. Really disappointed.

We went here with the intention to eat, that didn't take place. The staff are absolutely hopeless and no idea what customer service is. Being ignored, waiting 10 minutes without even be acknowledged let alone served is ridiculous. There was a lot of wandering around by the staff that were not behind the bar, perhaps focus on the customers needs instead of parading round or going to the far end of the pub to join the gossip hudle. Those behind the bar were painstakingly making a cocktail or trying to work out what drinks go into a certain cocktail, we left and went elsewhere.

I am at a loss to understand why when the bar is busy it takes 5 staff to put away clean glasses while leaving only 2 serving. Lazy staff, never again!

I visit the slug and lettuce regularly with my family and friends , I have recently had a grandson who also comes in too , the staff are so friendly and helpful , wether I am with my friends or young family .. the food is great and excellent value . Amy has a lot of time for the customers and happy to help you in any way , and extremely kind to the young mums and their babies that also visit regularly . A great place , highly recommended for whatever you doing !!!!

My friends and I decided to meet at the Slug &amp; Lettuce last night for a few drinks and a bite to eat. It has been a year since I was last there and I now remember why - what a disappointment it was! On arrival I went to the bar to check in as we had booked a table for three but the female bar staff knew nothing of our booking so she asked two other staff members who were sitting on the patrons side of the bar. Neither of them knew how to access a previous booking either so they just shrugged and said take any seat you like as we are not busy. When I attempted to order a drink at the bar, the same female staff member ignored me and shuffled off to the other end of the bar trying to look busy despite the fact that there was nobody else at either end of the bar waiting to be served. It seemed nobody could be bothered to make any effort to provide good customer service. We ordered our food - A most pitiful portion of dreadful tasting lasagne appeared which had obviously just left the microwave. No salad garnish, no attempt at any form of decent presentation just a miserable dish. The wine list was so basic, it looked more like the cheap end of a supermarket wine shelf but overpriced. The floors and tables were messy and I could not help thinking that if the staff spent a little more time cleaning and dealing correctly with customers than sitting about chatting, The Slug &amp; Lettuce could be a much nicer venue. I would love to be able to say something positive about this bar but nothing comes to mind. I won’t be re-visiting anytime soon as it was a very unwelcoming place. What a shame!

I booked a booth with the party drinks package for my birthday for myself and 5 friends. I enquired online and Amy called me the same day and talked through what I would like and even made a few suggestions. We arrived and our booth was ready and decorated, we had a fantastic night. The booth was amazing we had our space to sit and dance, I can’t wait until my next visit to the Slug in Brentwood.

Very busy and atmospheric Saturday night venue on the Brentwood weekend trail. Complete with upstairs seating area overlooking the bar-cum-dance area, Slug & Lettuce does a good attempt at a precursor to the likes of The Vine or Sugar Hut.

I have been there with a friend and we enjoyed the atmosphere of dancing and partying with crowd. you have to wait for a drinks but i think this is common in all places like Slung.
