To find the doors locked and a sign in the window now Closed. No staff or customers about its all negative the High street in Brentwood is looking empty.

wrote a review and it got deleted🤣 so i’ll happily write it again went into the pub on monday after watching the England game was with one of my mates as we’re both from Australia but i’ve recently come over here to see family so wanted to show my friend the high street, went into the bar and got asked for id keeping in mind we are Australian so they are aussie ids my friend was fine with hers and then it got to mine and i got told it wasn’t me as i didn’t look like it and i didn’t have an australian accent i told him i had other forms and could get up my social media he was rude from the start and then we had to leave moral of this of your australian but don’t have an accent don’t bother going🤣

Such a great venue to host my baby shower in! The staff were extremely helpful from start to finish, I’d definitely recommend for a function. It’s not just a sports bar! Thanks for making my dad with friends and family special x

What a lovely meal. Served by the wonderful Georgi, fast service with a smile. For £7.50 fish and chips plus a Guinness you can’t go wrong. I normally only got for the Guinness as it’s the best in Brentwood but the food was impeccable too.

Bar was nice & staff, food was ok unfortunately my fish was over cooked & chewie, staff did offer an alternative but I chose not too

We stumbled upon this place at chance on a friends outing. And I can honestly say the food was some of the best I’ve had in a bar! Can’t fault the service fast and efficient with a friendly atmosphere. We will be back!

initially went to slug and lettuce and demanded a refund and went here instead...had the equivalent dish and it was so much better not to mention cheaper! overall far superior pub food than some of the other locals. service with a smile which seems to be lacking more and more these days. definitely worth it

Our experience started when we were greeted by one of the management team, Craig who was welcoming and ready to find us a table. We had to do the track and trace which was fine, we are used to it now. Once we were seated we ordered our food and drinks through the app. It was easy to navigate with a little initial guidance from the staff to get onto the Wi-Fi. Even though we used the app the staff were very attentive and made sure that we were checked on and were ok throughout our visit. Recommend the big double burger! It was huge. All in all a brilliant experience, will certainly be back. Can’t wait to come down for the new football season post covid restrictions. Thanks again!

Watched the England game tonight, great atmosphere, lively but still Covid safe and well controlled. Great screens and advisable to book in advance, will be back to watch the Lions.

I have visited today with my sister and step mum. We were served by both Craig and Eliza. Both were extremely attentive, bubbly and just lovely. Food was excellent as were the drinks! We were checked our food was ok, which was excellent. Consistently checked if we needed more drinks (we had a tab rather than using the app). Nothing was too much trouble and I can’t wait to come back again. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

After going into the Wetherspoons for lunch with the girls and witnessing what they were serving up we decided to try elsewhere, we came came across this pub and all we can say is "what a delight" the service was second to none as well as the food. It was a bonus to have staff that make u laugh, it's like having entertainment with you're meal. 10* if we could.

As with my previous visit to O’Neill’s, this time I enjoyed the bar’s atmosphere, reasonably priced beers and sport on the many screens dotted around the pub. It’s seemingly a popular place as we were asked if we’d booked a table in advance. Fortunately, we got seated somewhere but I’d recommend calling ahead to avoid disappointment.

Just wanna say how I've been going in oneils for years and had a great time doing cocktails with all my girlfriends we were looked after so well drinks were brought over perfectly made and treated us like royalty...as we are x all staff great polite fun especially manager Kian x

I have been going to O’Neills in Brentwood for a number of years and I can not recommend this place enough! The staff are always very happy and helpful, the atmosphere is always good and it is excellent value for money! As a vegetarian there are a fantastic number of food options available and the food is always delicious. Quick and easy service and the app to order to your table is simple to use.

Popped in today for lunch, staff were friendly, and the Lunch deal is great value for money. I will certainly be coming back.

I called in yesterday as I was in Brentwood for business. The panini lunch was well presented and good value for money. The venue has great large TV screens and shows sport.

Came here to watch the football and enjoy good draught Guinness. Both of these things were accomplished and there are plenty of TV screens showing the football dotted around the bar and restaurant area. Guinness is reasonably priced at just over 4.00 GBP per pint. The atmosphere is loud, but pleasant for the football. Would definitely return.

Clean spacious venue, wide selection of drinks at reasonable price and excellent coverage of sports on the many TVs scattered about

We were a party of mixed ages oldest 55 youngest early 20s. Merry but not drunk. Refused entry as the 3 oldest members two mid 40s and one mid 50s had no ID. Mental. We went to the Spread Eagle instead admitted no problem great pub. Will be avoiding in future. Just say "we aren't letting you in because you are too old and due to TOWIE we think we are some kind of exclusive club for hip youngsters as opposed to a mediocre Irish theme pub". It's at least be honest.

Friendly staff, Good Food, Great Atmosphere

Food quality has definitely gone down recently. Attracts a bit of a rough crowd now that the Litten Tree has tried to go a bit upmarket. Decent beer selection if a bit expensive.

Just brilliant. We go here regularly for a work team lunch and have never been disappointed with the food or the friendly and efficient service. Exactly what is required when you have limited time available.

Always like this pub. A plethora of televisions means that I asked to pop the Open on, and was no trouble at all. Couple of decent pints of Heineken, and a relaxed atmosphere. Recommended.

Shocking service, tables and floor not very clean, stuff "not available" We gave up in the end and walked out.

We Visited O'Neills while we were in Brentwood for the Day. We had done a bit of research on where to eat with Children and choose O'Neills because the menu they advertised for children was perfect for what we wanted.

Irish stew and Guinness. It was fine.

Agreed via phone call to go here to watch football. Arranged screen for us and pizza was superb. Great selection of beers..... And they even arranged the right result for me!

Came here with a few friends for a quiet night and was amazed at how vibrant and lively the place was! So much character and such great value for money, will definitely be returning!

My friend has come into oneills with me and a bunch of people got id'ed was fine walked out got asked for id again which was expected and then got refused entry because she had a Portuguese identification she was refused entry my friend has never felt so victimised in her whole life that she had to drive all the way to Upminster to get her British passport someone should never feel like this it is discrimination at its finest I work in a pub I know this myself I'm absolutely appalled at this and will make sure anyone I know will never drink in here again

We came here for a friends lunch. Nice atmosphere, and tasty food.

We stopped in O'Neills for a coffee

Ordered a wrap and a sandwich which hadn't come out after half an hour. When we asked the staff (who not once went around to check on customers) why we were still waiting, they were rather unhelpful and in no way tried to make it right. Ended up asking for our money back and left.

Had a little issue with food but staff reacted quickly and sorted everything. Very professional! 😊

Nos trasladamos a Brentwood poco antes de su renovación comenzó y estábamos deseando probar el lugar cuando reabrió, bien, no nos decepcionó. El lugar es increíble, espacioso, con televisores y un encantador ambiente. El personal en el bar era agradable, la cerveza era barata, que siempre es un positivo! Íbamos a quedarnos por uno. Que no la última. Gracias por llenar la Smirnoff Frambuesa sidra. Luego nos quedamos para la comida, de nuevo, no me decepcionó. 10 libras. 75 por una triple hamburguesa apiladas, papas fritas y una pinta era una ganga. La comida era increíble. Realmente volveremos pronto. Gracias por la increíble experiencia!

He estado en este pub un puñado de veces y siempre he sido muy impresionado con el servicio. visitamos recientemente para el almuerzo y bebidas con un grupo de mis amigas. En primer lugar, permítanme decir que ha sido recientemente renovado a un alto nivel y parece genial - asientos muy cómodos pueden añadir. El almuerzo fue delicioso y una buena relación calidad-precio. El personal era genial y en general el ambiente y la clientela en el pub eran geniales. Volvería? Sin duda me será muy pronto.

Esta fue nuestra primera visita desde el pub estaba renovado. Pedimos una hamburguesa y una ensalada de la casa Halloumi con champiñones con queso azul plana. Pedimos a las 12. 35 y el pub no estaba muy concurrido. Finalmente llegamos a la comida 1. 05:00 h. El halloumi estaba sin cocer y frío, había estado restos carbonizados, pero no preparado. La ensalada era decepcionante unos pedazos pequeños de hongos. El personal no era muy amable y no nos molesta cuando me señaló los problemas que tuvimos con la comida. Este solía ser un pub agradable y la comida era mejor y con buena relación calidad-precio.

Popped in here whilst shopping in Brentwood, very attentive waitress made sure our drinks and meals where to our liking didn't catch her name but lovely blond girl, an asset to the company, would we visit again or recommend definitely. See you soon

This was my first visit on a Saturday afternoon, I have been to oneills before but this one has to be the best one I have ever been to. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious. Massive Improvement on normal pub food. Will definitely be back.

I visited the pub with friends recently and the pub looks amazing I love it. Me and friends loved the food and the service was excellent. They had a dj in the evening and it was overall a very good experience. Thanks oneills !!!

Clean.friendly,value for money and now after the refurb great atmosphere. I looked in at official opening and spent great evening there. Next morning had excellent breakfast although at 9.30 in the morning it was empty just 3 customers.The pleasing thing about refurb was it also retained an Irish theme.Well done O'neills.

If you're looking for a big boozer in a convenient location then this is the place.It's always been good for watching rugby internationals but is now even better having been refurbished and added a great range of international beers. The Punk IPA is great.The food is tasty and well priced. The service is really good too. There is always a good atmosphere in the pub which isn't always tha case with larger venues.

O'Neills has always been a favourite with Brentwood locals. It was slighty run-down, it was a place to watch sport and have a beer however, that was it. But since relaunching after the refurb, O'Neills has turned into the place to be on a Friday and Saturda night - and every other night in-between! The atmosphere is now vibey and friendly, the staff and welcoming and helpful, and the live music and DJs offerings are exactly what you want to unwind at the end of the week.It's also the perfect place to escape the glitzy Towie-esque attitude that invades a lot of the highstreet, still standing as a down-to-earth bar where you can go with a group of mates for a laugh.One of the best priced establishments on the highstreet, O'Neills sells and even wider range of drinks now too including cocktails and more IPAs, catering for whichever drink you fancy.Really great to see the buzz back in the pub - and great to see that it is still the number 1 venue for sport in Brentwood.

We have been coming to Oneills for years and years and was a little sceptical when we saw it was going for a complete new look. We popped in for a couple of drinks last Friday and ended up staying the whole night! The place looks amazing, the food was glorious and the staff were all friendly and very accommodating, you could tell they were all enjoying there jobs which was nice to see. The band that was playing were fantastic the atmosphere was phenomenal, everybody was up singing and dancing hence the reason a couple of drinks turned into a night out, and I must say one of the best nights out I've had in a long time!! If your in the area make sure you give it a visit, you won't be disappointed!

The place looks good and the one person serving was very friendly and good at her job. However..... the breakfast took over 30 mins to come along (place was virtually empty). It was warm at best and poorly cooked. Part of it was missing and when it did come along it was virtually cold. So unless we were just unlucky I would seriously suggest you avoid for breakfast.

I visited this pub last summer and although the food and service was good the decor was tired and dated. The O'Neill's brand has been around a while now and I think they are investing in giving the pubs a more contemporary Irish twist. The new pub looks great, comfortable, warm and friendly. The TV sports theme continues with good quality TV's and a video wall. Th range of beers is excellent with craft products like Brew Dog Punk IPA and Franciscan Well from Cork being on the bar. The menu is varied and reasonably priced, burgers, steaks and pizzas being among the favourites.All in all a very good pub ideal for lazy Saturday's watching the match or a big night out with DJ's and live music.

I went to Oneills to watch the football and a bite to eat and a few beers with my m8s the food we all have was great and good size it was hot and came down in about 15 min and we stayed for a few hours after the football its was a great day/night

We only had drinks here and found they offered a good range. Staff were friendly and the establishment has good facilities. The menu was similar to other bars in this chain.

me and my work college visited here couple months back and the food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our experience this time was different to say the least. There was not many in the pub we ordered few drinks and some food, one of the staff members (Amyee) chatted away with us having a joke and laugh,later on she put the big screens on and in flooded a swarm of guests, all happy and ready for the match. the lights were dimmed and the place was buzzing, the sound was loud which it felt like we were at the match. drinks were flowing hot food been rushed out to tables, a credit to all the staff. we still didn't make it to dessert but we had one of the best nights being lost in the crowd of laughter and passion to forget a long days work and the journey home hungover. this pub is becoming our regular spot when we are in the area with business. Hope to keep coming back and enjoying the athmophere.

This is a good example of an O'Neills, if a little tired on the inside. The staff were very friendly and the food arrived hot and promptly. This venue tends to be quieter than the nearby pubs, is just as good and an ideal stopover if you're in Brentwood.

Had the misfortune of eating here with a colleague on 15th March due to being stuck in Brentwood with no trains leaving London to get me home.My first lack of service started from the bar a blonde female member of staff obviously didn't understand the words hello, what can I get you or thankyou. I just got a look so I started the order, I said thanks the female just looked took the money and walked away.The food took 30 minutes to arrive, we only ordered a burger and chips style meal. The food was warm at best, the salad was a piece of old lettuce, apparently it came with chips, I counted less on both hands..There was no cutlery or serviettes brought to us,the same female walked past the cutlery to bring the food to us, she pointed the cutlery out to us and basically said get it yourself... Now the pub wasn't busy at all no queues at the bar .I'm not asking for the world I know I'm not eating in a 5* restaurant but manners cost nothing, the only reason I was their was due to not being able to get home.Obviously I'm no detective but I also noticed what appeared to be a few let's say people rubbing there noses coming out of the toilets one after another and they didn't have a cold!The only saving grace was another member of bar staff female with brown hair who was pleasent to us when collecting our plates and asked if we wanted to stay for quiz night..Clearly I will not be returning here again.

tried getting in to the pub and the door men wouldn't let me in. Because i had no id on me.im a 40 year old bloke who just wanted to spend my money in your pub .but because of this me and my friends ended up going home after going out for a meal, up the road from your pub.

both me and my colleague came here for a quite bite to eat as it looked cosy, on entering the place its lively and the staff are full of character. we got sharing platter to start and it was massive, needless to say we finished it but didn't leave much room for our mains. we then got 2sizzling plates one a chicken and bacon with bbq sauce and cheese and i got chicken fajitas. both chicken dishes were cooked perfect and we had enough we couldn't eat anymore so we left desserts. we both got guinness and were told to take a seat as the girl would bring our drinks down once they settle. after food we remained seated as the girl done table service on drinks and once the place started to fill with customers she didn't stop doing table service which we enjoyed.. the place was dim and cosy and we had a great laugh with other customers and bar staff when we moved to the bar. a nice gem of a place its like a homely atmosphere especially with the staff that served us. thank you guys it made our weekend of work away more enjoyable and hopefully we will be back down your way again we will pop in and make it to desserts

Today we fancied a hearty lunch in oneils and we got exactly that. My wife had an amazing chicken burger and my rump steak with added prawns was absolutely to die for... it's been about 6 months since we last came here and they have changed the menu considerably and this was a pleasant surprise. The staff were lively and lovely and were very accommodating. Well done

This pub has kids menus and a main menu. Which is why we chose it we sat down all 4 of us and my 1 year old grandson. He had trapped wind because after 20 mins of being there he started to cry in pain which worried us. Unfortunatly for 1 out of the 5 people in the pub excluding us this wasn't acceptable. The barmaid came over to us and said if he didn't stop crying she would have to ask us to leave!!!!!!.... Omg I was disgusted we explained he was in pain and this was totally out of character for him and further more why do you sell kids food if someone cant accept a bit of noise. Children do make noises we will never return to this pub again!!!.

Never been in to O'Neill's before & was surprised at how good their lunch time deal was. £3.99 for a good selection of meals/jacket potatoes etc. + drink. Had jacket potato with tuna mayonnaise + spring onion which included a fresh, tasty side salad. Was pleased & surprised by the quality of the food at this price. Would certainly visit again. Staff were really nice too. Agree with another reviewer that décor is a bit dated & table was sticky but this was not due to the table not being cleaned rather more to do with varnish coating.

We were a group of 17 girls on a hen weekend.We stopped in here after travelling up from Wales, the food was lovely, staff were really helpful, and the drinks were really well priced.We also went there to start our evening off drinking, it was much busier in the evening and the atmosphere was great, again staff were really pleasant and helpful even though it was very busy.

Came here early on a Friday night. Place wasn't very full, but that was fine with us. Service was good and the food was alright. The bison burger was dry and had no flavor. Fries were fine as well. Can't say I'd come here as a first choice, but it's certainly a solid option.

Once I had a wild boar burger which was good. The decor is a bit dated and table felt a bit sticky. Staffs are friendly though.

Meet a few friends there thought it was going to be really young. Great mix of young and older. Had some food excellent service and good value for money. Will be back in a months time. Nice to go into a bar and get good value for money.

Been a regular for a good few years when I was working near the high street. Good space, good food, packed on Fridays, what else do you want?

For me and my friends, this is a regular place to drink seeing as we live in Brentwood, for at least a year we have probably visited the pub almost every friday. Last week I was due to drive home at the end of the night, and so was my friend, so we decided to go to the bar and ask for one glass of tap water each, when we made this request, a member of staff refused service to us, claiming that we couldn't get a glass of FREE tap water unless we bought a drink, defeating the object entirely. Her argument to support this refusal was if everyone came in asking for tap water she'd be out of business, which is fair enough BUT when will that ever happen? everyone around us had an alcoholic beverage that they had paid for, and I assume that happens day in and day out every week! So then I stated that I buy one or two drinks in O'Neills almost every week, spending probably around £25 a month in there, yet this wasn't good enough and I felt offended as a regular customer who clearly supports the business. However, it was agreed that when our two other friends arrived and bought a drink we would be able to have a tap water each. In the mean time, we needed to go to the toilet so went upstairs, while we were up there the member of staff came storming in accusing us of trying to hide from her! after reiterating her entirely irrelevant points in a very rude and aggressive manner she flicked her hair and stormed out! Upon our friends arrival we made our way to the bar to hopefully get, and allow me to exaggerate how small the request is, TAP WATER! So we asked a different member of staff who then alerted us that he had been banned from serving ONLY me and my friend tap water!!!! I was outraged, as a regular customer and someone who used to enjoy the pub my opinion has been turned around completely, I was spoken to rudely for the sake of choosing not to drink and drive. We went to The Slug And Lettuce after, requested some tap water and got it straight away, with no qualms at all, how it should be.
