Very nice restaurant to visit my food and drink was very nice . Only reason I never gave full 5 stars is portion size I believe a bit bigger would be perfect.

The best lattes and a huge selection of food all freshly cooked. The best ingredients and food well cooked, hot and presented beautifully. Lovely friendly owners and the interior is spotlessly clean. The best diner and would 100% recommend.

I ordered an omelette with chips and salad for home delivery. I don’t think the salad was freshly made. It looked like a supermarket pre-made one. The food was almost cold by the time it arrived and I think they were quite stingy with the portion of chips. An average meal and not good value for money.

The food was good with the highlight being the milkshakes. They were delicious and so many great flavours. The staff were all very friendly. It was great to be able to bring my dog inside. A very relaxing lunch had by all.

Ordered two panini melts at £9.45 each and they were awful. The “Mexican” had a thin slice of chicken with a few bits of pepper…that’s it. No mayo, no nothing. Not sure what was Mexican about it, but regardless the panini was dead. A lot more bread than filling. Probably cost about 80p to make. Total rip off. Had to add stuff to it at home so it tasted of something. The salad came with no dressing and included 1 slice of cucumber and half a cherry tomato. Will never order from here again.

Very tasty cup of coffee, delicious panini and toasties, this place gets busy because it is popular, the owners work really hard , I found them to be very friendly, another excellent independent business to support in Shenfield.

Food & drinks are lovely and comes out quick! Its also dog friendly with seating area out the back that's still inside so it's good for cold wet days 5*

I came across this cafe about 2 months ago while working in Brentwood, and ive just been back while down here again. The coronation chicken is the best ive ever had, its so flavourful, and they dont skimp on the filling either! A little side of crisps and an amazing cup of cappuccino just topped it off. The service was really quick, and they are super friendly here. I also took 3 slices of their red velvet cake back for the family. And they loved it! And all of this costing less than £19! I highley recommend dropping in if you're near.

I've been going here for 6 years and the food is slways very fresh and delicious. Definitely the best English breakfast around. Delicious milkshakes and smoothies. Very pleasant and kind owners. Highly recommend this place.

Great little place. Fresh food, well cooked. Loved the mega breakfast which was hot and delicious. We would also recommend trying an omelette - perfectly cooked. Service was excellent and the owner was friendly and very approachable. We also enjoyed coffee. It’s the perfect place to catch up and have a chat. It was popular and busy with people coming and going. This speaks volumes as they clearly have a raft of regulars who enjoy the place. I’ll be back!

Over 1.30 hours late, cold and cheese now tough as if our the fridge. Not cooked. Pretty sure it’s just east fault. Not the restaurant.

Terrible service. 1 of my toddlers is dairy free the other isn’t. I requested a sandwich (with half ham and half cheese). As sandwiches are made to order I didn’t foresee that this would be a problem. They repeatedly told me they would not take any special requests and were very rude. Avoid.

Ordered a all day breakfast One egg on toast and one tomato on toast. The Sausages brunt hardly any chips.. poor quality ingredients..also Order one cup of tea and one coke.. the bill was £27.70.. will not be going back...

Tried for an omelette but asked for a jacket potato, not the chips it came with as l cannot eat them. The server looked at me like l was mad .... said it doesn't come with JP so it's on top. Asked if he could check the price as willing to pay a bit extra. He came back said l would have to pay full price for the JP of £4 on top and get no chips!! Not a good trade they keep the chips and save and l get to pay a lot more. I have asked for this swap in numerous Cafés and it's been free or a maximum of £1.50 more. No one has ever charged full price for the swap. Was very disappointed with the attitude and charges so did not stay and went to another accommodating cafe nearby. Shame on them to lose custom in these hard financial times for all of us. I Won't be going back. Cannot comment on the quality of the food as did not get to try it. 😃

Delicious, simple, food served by lovely staff. I had great breakfasts to set me up for the day and a yummy ham and cheese panini for lunch a couple of times. The menu offers lots of choice. Would definitely return if I visit Shenfield again.

Went for lunch and would go again sometime in the future. Food was nice, only criticisms with the food would be that portions could have been slightly bigger and the selection for children's menu was a little limited for options. Staff was friendly, atmosphere was Friendly but building is narrow and small but it was still a good dining experience. They have an indoor / garden area for slightly bigger groups of people in excess of 4

Very disappointed! Been ordering from here over the last few years but the last three times the portion size had reduced by half, rung up to try and rectify the problem but they wasn’t interested at all. Won’t be ordering again which is a shame as it has been a regular at work.

We ordered today as we do weekly for lunch at work. When it came we was given literally 5 chips with each meal! When I called to complain, they told me I was wrong and “the omlette must of eaten the chips” and continued to argue with me down the phone. I said I can send over a picture to prove this but he continued to be extremely rude down the phone! I didn’t appreciate the sarcasm of the omelette eating the chips either.

Great food and very reasonably priced. Would class as mid market rather than high end, somewhere which could quite easily become a regular spot. Breakfast and coffee were great! Been here a few times and the service really stands out, very friendly and attentive without feeling rushed.

After using the restaurant hundreds of times over the years and my wife visiting most days with her friends for coffee.. I was very disappointed with the service we received today... i returned a sandwich that wasn't cooked well and looked like someone had stood on it..... i was told i was wrong and this is how a fried egg should look, they just didn't like criticism... after we had paid the guy went into a random rant about how we shouldn't complain... and told us not to come back. Glad his business doesn't need customers. Just wish i had taken a photo of the rubbish he had given us !! I would advise anyone to give this place a miss and go to the LOT instead... far better service and the same price point !!!

We had a train to catch from Shenfield and not much time, I asked the staff if they would be able to serve us in that time and they said it was fine. The staff were very friendly, the food was tasty and good value. I really like the decor and the lovely garden area. This is a decent cafe and we will be back

Come here often, great food and portions. offer a wide range of drinks including smoothies and milkshakes. staff are always friendly and there is an outdoor seating area! perfect for breakfast, also good for baguettes / sandwiches at lunch.

Lovely bit of lunch with a friend today. First time there and was very impressed! Sat in the covered back garden area and had their special omelette (shared it with my toddler but would have been a perfect portion otherwise!) and the panini and coffees were also really good. Got some carrot cake to take away too and it’s the best I’ve had! Will be back soon!

5 members of the parish had there flu jabs on Saturday morning and afterwards thought it would be nice to go for coffee. That was our first mistake as we were asked to leave because we were not eating. What’ a shame As Foureighty just around the corner had no problem with us in having a coffee and a pastry, in fact made us very welcome. Won’t be going back to On a Plate, and if asked by anyone we would have to tell them about our experience.

Went today for a post-footie brunch. Great food and extremely warm waiting staff who are very accommodating. Well worth your time to visit.

Only popped in for a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea but the bacon sandwich was the best I've had in a long while. Perfectly crisp bacon (no chewy gristle) and delicious granary bread. Nice cup of tea too, come to think of it.

A pleasant cafe/bistro with a relaxing atmosphere, offering wide selection of choice of food from snacks to a full meal. Food was acceptable as was the service. As a business customer in order to present the cost of the lunch meeting with a client to my accounts department, they require the sales transaction, in this instance the till receipt to have the businesses VAT number. As this was not printed on the receipt I asked for their number where the response from the member of staff was that it could be found on their website. My reply was if it is available on the website then why was it not on the till receipt or available in the event that it was requested. The response from this particular member of staff was to suggest that I was the problem and why I asked so many questions! If you need a VAT receipt for expenses, then I strongly recommend you chose an alternative place to dine. There are plenty of better alternative choices in Sheffield who will value your custom. Defiantly an attitude issue here. For this reason I have given 2 stars. Incidentally, I was unable to locate the companies website. Probably because the business does not have one! Perhaps the owner may be more accommodating and list their official VAT number in the reply to this post.

Visited today and thoroughly enjoyed my meal, the outdoor seating was very well designed and socially distanced. The food was all very high quality, I would definitely recommend here and will be visiting again soon! The staff were really friendly also which really adds to the charm of On A Plate. Very reasonably priced, much better value than other restaurants in the area I have been too

Such a shame, standards have really dropped here. We loved it before. It was freezing cold inside and empty today. The service wasn’t very friendly and the food wasn’t of good quality. Big note to the owners - you have the potential to be really successful in this goldmine of an area but you must improve on the areas above. Please also stop putting the napkins under the food and please buy quality crisps and include some side salad on plates for presentation purposes.

We ordered lunch from here today and it was lovely. We had the onaplate salad and breakfast baguette which were both tasty and fresh. Coffee and hot chocolate was the best we’ve had in ages and they threw in 2 cookies on the house which were lovely. Can’t wait to order from here again.

For the price the presentation was very poor - no little extras on the sides of the plate to make the food look more appealing. Just a glorified cafe - for the price there is other places in the high street that offer a lot more. And no longer a dog friendly outside area which is a shame

Came here for the first time today. The service was amazing by the waitress. The staff were professional. Very well social distanced tables. Hand sanitizer available. Cleanliness is 10/10. I felt comfortable eating here. The Vegetarian breakfast 2 was lovely and just the right amount. The Latte coffee was really nice too.
