Like many other regulars I was more than a little apprehensive when the business was sold in July. Fortunately it's been business as usual under Lambton's new owner. The coffee remains excellent, the bread and cakes are excellent and there are a host of unique, quality food options on the shelves. It's my go to place for gifts for foodie friends.

Me, hubby, daughter & my mum visit this little gem of a coffee shop/ice cream place/eatery every time we visit Bakewell from Rotherham. The MILKSHAKES are the 💯 absolutely THE BEST in Bakewell. Choice of Latte Coffee's is vast and fabulous 👌 Cakes & tray bakes to die for! ALl food looks amazing 👏 MOST IMPORTANTLY.... The Lady owner is THE MOST POLITE, welcoming lady I've come across in any establishment we have visited. EVERY time we have visited, she thanks us for using her shop and supporting her business as she is well aware there are many places for drinks & food in Bakewell. PLEASE PLEASE visit and support this little treasure of a shop, you WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. The most welcoming owner EVER and really does deserve your business. ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

I was recommended Lovage by my sister, and I have to say.. it was amazing! We had wine & tapas.. sensational! My friend & I chose lots of dishes, all of which were beautiful. The wine was amazing too. The lady who looked after us was brilliant and attentive. Will be coming back!!

We stayed in the village for 2 night and ended up eating here both nights. No where else took our fancy and it was really good that we came back second night. The prawn starter was amazing and the pie!! Really good service, good variety on menu and delicious food. It was just what we needed after long walks both days!!

We chose the Woodyard, as we knew it offered a wide variety of meals - we'd already had a traditional pub lunch earlier in the day. It really did tick the box, and most of our group opted for pizzas, which were really good. Friendly service throughout and a nice atmosphere and interior.

Had a fantastic afternoon having afternoon tea. This was a surprise Valentine’s Day present and a thank you for looking after the old gal, like I’d have ever have done anything different. The past year has been a challenge. It was absolutely delicious but far too much hence the doggie box. It was lovely just spending some time together. The owner was so kind and caring and seated my wife in a quiet area because of her anxiety and close to the toilet because of her stoma. My wife had a long chat with the owner before we left and they hugged. Definitely going back.

We have stayed at the duke every other weekend from our first campervan adventure in February this year, we love it!! It's our happy place and there is nothing Bridget and the team wouldn't do to accommodate us, the campsite is lovely and the views are beautiful and the facilities are fantastic and clean, we love the pub with its lovely welcome, open fires and out of this world food !! We never want to stay anywhere else when visiting buxton/bakewell 5 stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 looking forward to seeing Bridget and the team soon 🥰

We visited twice during a short stay in the Peak District - once for brunch, and once for coffee and cakes. The food was excellent both times. There's a good choice of breakfast items, and a fabulous range of delicious cakes and scones. Good tea and coffee too, and the staff were really friendly and efficient.
