I came to the tea rooms with my partner and baby and it was a very pleasant experience. We both had full English’s with a pot of tea and really enjoyed ourselves. The tea was excellent and the breakfasts were just okay but I think the atmosphere and service more than made up for this. The sausages in particular were a bit disappointing. Some people got a bit frustrated as the counter where you ordered food wasn’t always manned - I think as the food is made in a small kitchen by one or two people and so it was an all hands on deck situation when it got busier - but I personally didn’t have an issue with this and found the service to be great, friendly and helpful. After our meal I got a piece of the traditional non iced bakewell tart on recommendation from the lovely women working there and it was incredible. I was told all the cakes are made at a local bakery and they all looked amazing.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We were given such a warm welcome and even though we'd only called in for a drink couldn't resist the cakes. The meals coming out looked delicious. All was spot on and special thanks pointing us in the right way for the bridge. We had a lovely time.

Perfect breakfast, great fresh coffee and very accommodating. Me and my 3 friends were hiking and stopped here for a coffee and bite. We had a warm welcome from walking in the door, including for the two dogs we had with us. We ordered slight variations to the menu and everything wasn’t too much trouble at all. 5 starts, perfect. Quality food ingredients, great ham and toast.

After a long walk I stopped in a The Aisseford Tea Room. I had tea for one and a slice of Bakewell. The cake was delicious and moist, served with clotted cream. I had a wonderful view from the conservatory of tulips and bantum hens roaming the garden. Well worth stopping in for a treat!

My wife and I undertook a 8 mile circular walk from Bakewell, along the Monsal Trail and back thru Ashford in the Water. We stopped at this tea room for lunch. Very friendly, welcoming team. We had a Panini, Bakewell Tart ( traditional nor Mr Kipling!) with Coffee and it was fantastic. This was a real find and is very welcoming to walkers (including muddy boots) and dogs. Excellent quality all at a reasonable price. We were so pleased we called.

We visited this tea room twice in three days this week. Both visits were lovely, the owners and staff were very welcoming on both occasions. The coffee was fantastic, also the cakes. We sat outside at the table for two, enjoying the sunshine. The service was fantastic and very friendly, even our yellow Labrador ‘Henry’ got a fuss from the owner. I simply cannot wait to visit again. Thank you all at the Aisseford Tea Room.

Pleasant service but not the greatest Derbyshire breakfast I'm afraid. Two of us had the full breakfast. Bacon was good, sausage not the best, tinned tomatoes. Tasty veggie sausage. Coffee good but small cups. Overall tired decor in need of redecoration. Sorry!

We were half way around our walk and popped in for coffee and cake. It had a couple of small tables outside and a few tables inside. The cakes had no prices displayed which should have been a warning. The flat whites were weak and we were charged over £5 for one slice of Bakewell tart. Two days later we were in a café in another village where two slices of Bakewell tart of a similar size cost £4. Competition is needed in this village.

Don’t miss this little treat of a coffee shop. We only really popped in as it was raining and had been directed to it by a local who assured us it was warm & dry! We decided to try the Derbyshire oatcakes as we hadn’t had them before. So glad we did, topped with bacon, mushroom & Stilton and served with a lovely side salad and creamy coleslaw, what a treat they were. The downside, it was a big plateful which unfortunately meant we didn’t have room left to sample the yummy looking cakes. Guess we’ll just have to make a trip back up there again.

A little gem of a cafe. We would usually opt for a pub lunch but after eating at Aisseford this may change! There was no shortage of quality fillings in both the goats cheese with chutney & bacon with brie options and the dressed side salad with coleslaw made a delicious accompaniment. The addition of carafes of water for customers to help themselves to is a nice touch. If you're after a hearty lunch in a charming & friendly setting, this is the place to eat - highly recommended.

This little café serves a good menu, the food was very tasty and the staff were very friendly. I had a filled Derbyshire oatcake, and took some oatcakes home from the café too. The clementine cake was pretty good too. The only problem with the place was it was very cold. It is an old stone building and there was no heating in the dining area. So whilst I would recommend folk to have a meal here, I would suggest you went in the summer!

I visited these tearooms with my daughters on Friday 24th May. I have been to other tea shops in Bakewell, but Toscas is by far the best. We had afternoon tea for three of us, we sat outside in the court yard. The afternoon tea arrived and there was lots of lovely cake and sandwiches, beautifully presented, and our host friendly and gave us a warm welcome. We really enjoyed our afternoon tea, very civilised, we will defiantly be visiting again. In fact we will have a day out to bakewell just to visit Toscas .

Fantastic cafe, the icing on the cake (no pun intended) being the birds feeding next to the window. The staff are friendly and efficient and the the food is of a good standard and reasonably priced. I can't understand the few negative reviews, maybe some folk have unfeasibly high standards/expectations?
