I visited these tearooms with my daughters on Friday 24th May. I have been to other tea shops in Bakewell, but Toscas is by far the best. We had afternoon tea for three of us, we sat outside in the court yard. The afternoon tea arrived and there was lots of lovely cake and sandwiches, beautifully presented, and our host friendly and gave us a warm welcome. We really enjoyed our afternoon tea, very civilised, we will defiantly be visiting again. In fact we will have a day out to bakewell just to visit Toscas .

On Monday, we went to Bakewell for the day just for a change and a look round and happened to find this delightful tea shop. I had Victoria Sponge cake which was to die for and my husband had a scone which he said was delicious. Coffee was also good and service was excellent. Would highly recommend

Popped in on off-chance after mooching around Bakewell. Had been disappointed by other cafe's/tea rooms that were more prominent but Tosca's did not disappoint. Clean, warm, friendly, good choice of homemade cakes and light meals. Would be the place we went to again if visiting and needed refreshment. A pleasant experience.

We enjoyed coffee, cola and delicious cake in the courtyard at the back. The cakes were presented well, served at room temperature as non cream cakes should be and tasted delicious. Our dog was welcomed and served two small treats, a lovely touch. The coffee was enjoyable, although I personally prefer Illy coffee but everyone’s taste is different. Thank you for making our visit a great one.

We are always looking for new places to eat and after seeing the reviews decided to try Tosca's. We had used the cafe with the previous owners quite extensively and enjoyed our experiences. It was a lovely day and we sat outside on the terrace. We had to ask for the menus and saw on a board that the special of the day was lasagne. Our initial feeling was that the menu was not very extensive - I ordered a chicken sandwich and my OH chose the lasagne, but were told that they hadn't any left (which surprised us as it was only about 1.15pm. He then ordered a egg/mayo sandwich and was told that they had run out of eggs! He then settled for a piece of quiche, served with salad garnish. When our food was served, we asked for salad dressing and were told that they had none and were not even offered mayonnaise. My chicken sandwich was ok and so was the quiche. In hindsight, he was glad that the lasagne had run out, as the couple sitting next to us had the last two pieces, which were extremely well done and we noticed when they left that the lady had left most of it! So sadly, Tosca's is not for us.

Good food, but charged us for more than we had ordered felt a bit ripped off. She might have thought she was helping us with our choices but she added to to our meal.😣

Visited on a day when the rain was torrential all day without a break. We had our dog too. We sat inside, with our dog, had lovely tea and cakes, beautifully served and the fact that our coats and dog were dripping rain water all over the floor (tiled) didn't matter to the gentleman serving us, one bit. We were welcomed anyway. Thank you so much. It really made our day.

Came across this gem of a Tea room when on a day out in Bakewell. We ordered the afternoon tea for two. When it arrived it was amazing, sandwiches for two, small savoury pies and scones with real clotted cream jam strawberries and lots of cakes . So much that the lady who served us offered to box up anything we couldn't eat for us to take home. This we did . The chef came over to chat to us and we swapped doggie stories as our two dogs munched on the complimentary snacks. There is a lot of art work on sale to attract the attention and a lovely courtyard to the rear if you want to eat out side. All in all an excellent establishment with lovely people running it

A truly lovely place serving excellent, locally sourced and wonderfully cooked, fantastic quality and value food in generous portions and run by a very genuine, warm, friendly helpful lady (who had cooked the day's special which I had - lasagne and salad - sincerely the best I have ever eaten in 52 years !). Also, great coffee, again, in very generously sized cups (and you should see the size of the pot of tea for one - enough to slake a very serious thirst). Also good as it is tucked away from the centre though only a minute or two's walk from it, a nice peaceful, characterful spot. Well worth a visit.

We stumbled across this cafe on a trip to Bakewell. We were greeted by a lovely friendly lady behind the counter and ordered two lattes and a viennese whirl. The coffee was lovely and the viennese whirl was the best we have had. The cafe is dog friendly and has a lovely courtyard with comfortable seating and patio heaters. This really is the place to visit in Bakewell. Not to be missed!

This quite a quaint little place more stumbled across than sought out. We ordered sandwiches and a scone. The scone came with squirty cream instead of clotted cream which I was disappointed about as I asked for cream and jam. The sandwiches came uncut in uninspiring bread. If fresh local bread was used and perhaps a few crisps or a little salad accompanied it, it would of been a 5!

I was so pleased to find this place tucked away as I hate chains like some establishments around the corner. There was a wide selction of cakes and scones. The place was spotless. I was delighted that the establishment was dog friendly. I saw one rogue review and can only think that someone is having a bad day. I have absolutely no complaints and can thoroughly recommend he Tosca Tea Gallery before and after a good walk.

Had the afternoon the for two. Delicious and more than enough food for the two of us. A nice little touch they boxed up the leftovers for us to take home with us. Seating area at the front not the best with the busy road but they have a hideaway round the back with a good few tables and chairs and parasols for when it's hot. Well worth a stop.

Impromptu visit on a Sunday afternoon, very welcoming and such a wonderful location, still part of the main centre of bakewell, on the way to ORVIS, but one of those places where you feel totally relaxed. They didn’t have much gluten free cake left due to it being late on a Sunday but they managed to turn brownies into a proper desert. ( did offer To make me a sandwich) overall an absolutely delightful place to pop in for a coffee or lunch.

Time for a sandwich lunch after the museum. Went in to this empty tea shop. Soup of the day was yesterday's and only 1 portion left! Half the sandwiches and several drinks were not available. However the service was excellent, staff charming and the food we did have was very enjoyable too. Interesting art works (3D paintings) for sale, but a bit above our pocket at £800+/-. Would go again. Must be great when they're fully stocked.

We arrived absolutely soaking wet after walking around Bakewell in torrential rain looking for somewhere that accepted dogs and looked nice and welcoming. We spotted Toscas from across the road and decided to have a quick peep through the windows. We were both surprised to see it was dog friendly so popped our heads in. We were immediately greeted by the cheeriest of faces and we asked if our dog was OK to come in despite been very, very wet labrador. We were told 'of course'. We were only intending to have a cup of coffee and a slice of cake but couldn't resist the look of the quiches on display. The quiches were served warm with a side of the freshest salad with the yummiest of dressings and side of crunchy crisps. The coffee was lovely too. We then ordered a pop of tea and a slice of cake. Alan was SO friendly. The food was served quickly and we did not feel under any pressure to order anything extra (although we clearly did). The dog was even served his own bowl of goodies.

If you have a dog and visit Bakewell you will be sure of a warm welcome here and a few treats for your doggy friend. You are able to sit indoors or out particularly useful for a winter visit. Everone is very friendly and you are warmly welcomed. Food is very good and reasonably priced. The guiness and chocolate cake is to die for. Nice to get china cups and a nice large pot of tea.

We had a couple of cold and rainy days in Bakewell but managed to find a few nice tea rooms. We love cakes and lattes and Tosca's did not disappoint. Nice, hot, tasty soup to start with, followed by some home cooked cakes and a pot of tea. The warm room had interesting artwork. Great to be inside and watch the weather.

Where do we begin? As previous visitors to this establishment we were delighted to see it had reopened! We were greeted by Alan, the owner who was very hospitable and friendly. He showed us into the tea room, however...the room smelt unpleasantly of the toilets. We moved upstairs, the rooms were cold and musty and we were surrounded by a plethora of antiques and collectibles that were neither antique nor collectible. Although they had a professional coffee machine, the coffee was like bad filter coffee and the tables were covered with dirty disposable plastic table cloths.

Great choice for lunch out. After a pleasant walk through the beautiful countryside of Derbyshire, we stopped for lunch and so glad we did. A wide choice of dishes hot and cold from salads to mezes to traditional burgers, plus lots, lots more including suitable choices of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. I opted for the delicious chicken with tagliatelle. A generous helping. Good range of drinks from typical traditional ales to cocktails and wines, plus many non-alcoholic alternatives. Or simply coffee or tea. Overall, a pleasant lunch in a beautiful Derbyshire village.
