I was really hoping for the wholesome, home cooked food that the price tag promised. The bean casserole tasted like a tin of baked beans with a whole load of dried sage stirred in. The salad could have been bought in a bag at Asda. I won't be going back.

Came in for food with my Mum. The sausage and lentil stew was hearty and delicious. The owners were so friendly and kind, putting a candle in a cake for my Mum's birthday. Loved their food and loved their chat! Wish I lived closer to make this a regular haunt.

Just had another lovely lunch at Nooch. There’s always something new on the menu and everything is reasonably priced and tasty. I can really recommend the burgers which are well stacked with extras. Whether you’re vegan, veggie or neither, you’re sure to find something to your taste. Be sure to leave room for cake! Warm welcome and great food. What more could you want ?

Last Sunday we had our second visit to Nooch which we looked forward to having previously enjoyed their food. On this occasion though, not so much. A very basic, unimaginative, expensive and bland Sunday lunch was all that was on offer. £12.50 for the full lunch, with two other options at £8.50 and £6.50. I had the £6.50 meal comprising 3 slices of seitan, a small piece of stuffing and a few shreds of red cabbage all served on a bread roll. For an additional £2.00 I could also have had a small Yorkshire pudding and a parsnip. The quality of service was distinctly average. The cleanliness left something to be desired with spilled food evident on the floor under several of the tables. As much as I’m keen to support small vegan businesses, I’m sorry to say I don’t think I’ll be visiting Nooch again any time soon, and certainly not on a Sunday.

the chef was amazing, preparing special food for me, and being so nice to check everything with me. they charged me *less* than the standard meal, and said if I call in advance of future visits they can make sure to have more things that I can eat!

Lovely people, great location but sorry to say that the food was bland and uninteresting. We looked forward to an evening meal following a good day of walking. Everything was freshly cooked and we anticipated interesting tasty vegetarian meals. There was nothing wrong with the food but when you go out to eat you expect to be served something tasty and special. We eat vegetarian at home and had hoped for at least the standard that we prepare in our own kitchen. Unfortunately we were disappointed. However it seems that many others have been satisfied so perhaps we chose the wrong things. Perhaps better as a cafe than a restaurant where expectations are much higher.

Really great cafe. The staff were friendly and the food was really great. One of the best vegan burgers I've ever had, and I've had quite a few. My parents came (who would never really choose vegan food) and they were able to find things they enjoyed. If I'm back in the area I would definitely return!

Visited here with family - some vegan, some not. Everyone enjoyed the meals, highly recommend the pie and peas! And the staff are just so friendly! We had a lovely chat with the owner and the whole place has a great vibe - really relaxed. We bought some bakewell tart to take out - delicious!!! All cakes are homemade... Will definitely be back!

Myself and my friends took a trip up to Matlock Bath specifically to eat a Sunday lunch here and we weren’t disappointed! A really cute little cafe with the friendliest owners ever! They were very welcoming and chatty which instantly made us feel at home. As a veggie coeliac it can be difficult for me to eat out but after calling in advance (I recommended you do this if you have an allergies) and ordering a gluten free roast I received a Sunday lunch gluten free pie complete with all the trimmings (stuffing, Yorkshire pudding and even my own gravy!) which was absolutely delicious. The portion size is great for the price and we were all left well and truly fed. I was blown away by the effort they had made to make me my own gluten free roast dinner! I will definitely be back soon.

It’s only okay... the lady serving was very friendly, really accommodating, but the gentleman in the kitchen didn’t really want to be there. The decor is really odd; clashing patterns and colours. The food was average - catering for vegans and gluten free. I really liked the coffee. May go back to try the cakes.

I went here with an unusual request: 2 meals of finger foods..... the vegan recipients were working and unable to sit and eat so would be snatching food on the way as they went passed... during MBMF (Matlock Bath Music Festival.

Called here for a thirst quenching drink at the weekend. Very friendly staff and they couldn't do enough to make sure our pet dog had a fresh bowl of water, in fact this was the only cafe or pub that we saw in Matlock Bath that had water outside the premises for dogs. Strange as so many of the people we saw had their dog's with them.

Super friendly staff who will chit chat with you if you like or not if you don't. Dropped in for a coffee and a cake. My taste buds were telling me it couldn't be vegan, it was so yummy and chocolatey. The other food all looked good too. Can't wait to try the roast :) see you soon

I remember spending the day in Matlock Bath with doggos when I was little and having no options other than taking your own picnic or waiting outside a chippy with them whilst someone else nipped inside. You can not only take them in at Nooch, but they’ll be endlessly fussed over—and the food is all vegan! We went not long after poor Summa had broken her shoulder but despite having limited supplies, we were provided with a tasty meal and friendly service, at a very affordable price. This is not fine dining, this is informal and fun—like nipping round to a mate’s for an impromptu dinner. Lovely

Summa and Simon offer the nicest homemade vegan food for miles, whether you fancy a quick sandwich, a junk food splurge or a huge Sunday dinner. Their Yorkshire puddings are to die for, as are all their cakes and puddings. They are also the friendliest and most accommodating hosts; nothing is ever too much trouble.

Found this little place on a day out for my birthday. Had no booking, but had no problem getting a table for two. Had the Sunday dinner (as it was a Sunday this is the main meal - no sandwiches etc) which was really good but was somewhat eclipsed by the amazing pear crumble! Will return.

We were lucky enough to catch Nooch on an unusually quiet day after wanting to visit for months - we called ahead after a bike ride nearby to see if they were open and the owners kindly said that although they were just about to close up they'd stay open so we could go in and enjoy one of their delicious Sunday roasts. We were not disappointed - enormous portions, herby seitan, an abundance of veggies and wicked yorkshire puddings, and had the whole place to ourself. Did not disappoint, this will be my go to spot from now on when passing through Matlock.

Waited for ages to visit... my daughter’s 30th Birthday celebration... only to find that the proprietor was skiing ( !) and that her friend - who tried her very best - was in charge. This had been pre booked - but the food, to be fair, was so disappointing ... I would have been upset if I’d produced that at home. We won’t be back .

I had booked nooch for my birthday, a table for 8 for me and my family, approx 2 weeks in advance. We were all looking forward to a vegan Sunday lunch with cakes for after and the vegan Yorkshire puddings I’d seen on their Facebook page. Unfortunately, when we arrived there was only one portion of sausages left, so my children had those between them and we all had the shepherds pie- which was tasty but not really what we had wanted with a Sunday dinner. It took approx 40 minutes for our food to arrive, and when it did the veg was cold and had to be sent back. No Yorkshire puddings with the dinners either. I was looking forward to being able to have a vegan pudding for once but unfortunately they had sold out of all but one, which didn’t look particularly appetising.

After reading reviews thought we would try. I would defo rate 5 stars for hospitality but unfortunately not for the food. Food was bland, burnt and rather expensive for what you got. Came away feeling hungry and smelling of fried food. We probably didn’t make a good choice as the Sunday dinners look amazing however our experience wasn’t.

We spotted this vegan cafe/bistro tucked away off the main road a few weeks ago, so pleased we did! We've visited twice now for lunch and both times have had delicious meals we've thoroughly enjoyed. There's lots to choose from on the menu, from light snacks to substantial dinners (and they really are substantial with the generous portions served!), with a nice choice of drinks too. The owners are lovely, so pleasant and accommodating with a genuine warmth, it's no surprise the atmosphere is very homely and relaxed. Hoping to try some of their enticing cakes at some point - so far we have been far too full!

I visited Nooch for a tea and cake this weekend as a stop off en route to watching the illuminations on the Derwent. Friends of mine had visited the previous weekend and enjoyed their experience so I wanted to give it a go. They have a really great menuplus specials board, which caters to all vegan palates from salads to hotdogs and burgers, to nutroast on Sundays (a generous portion given!). I had a slice of batternberg cake which was lovely, my daughter had humous and veggies which she loved.

I visited these tearooms with my daughters on Friday 24th May. I have been to other tea shops in Bakewell, but Toscas is by far the best. We had afternoon tea for three of us, we sat outside in the court yard. The afternoon tea arrived and there was lots of lovely cake and sandwiches, beautifully presented, and our host friendly and gave us a warm welcome. We really enjoyed our afternoon tea, very civilised, we will defiantly be visiting again. In fact we will have a day out to bakewell just to visit Toscas .

Fantastic cafe, the icing on the cake (no pun intended) being the birds feeding next to the window. The staff are friendly and efficient and the the food is of a good standard and reasonably priced. I can't understand the few negative reviews, maybe some folk have unfeasibly high standards/expectations?

We only live about 20 minutes and driven passed many times. We stopped on the way back from Buxton. They weren’t officially open however they were more than happy to serve us. It was awful weather outside but they had the log burner going so was gorgeous and warm. Cafe was all clean. Food delicious. Cakes scrumptious. The staff are so friendly. Car park is close and large. Definitely will be going again.
