The best restaurants in Bakewell Derbyshire Dales East Midlands

Like many other regulars I was more than a little apprehensive when the business was sold in July. Fortunately it's been business as usual under Lambton's new owner. The coffee remains excellent, the bread and cakes are excellent and there are a host of unique, quality food options on the shelves. It's my go to place for gifts for foodie friends.

Alfie the staff member was very helpful and couldn’t have been kinder. He was polite to the customers and provided a tray for carrying the drinks.

Me, hubby, daughter & my mum visit this little gem of a coffee shop/ice cream place/eatery every time we visit Bakewell from Rotherham. The MILKSHAKES are the 💯 absolutely THE BEST in Bakewell. Choice of Latte Coffee's is vast and fabulous 👌 Cakes & tray bakes to die for! ALl food looks amazing 👏 MOST IMPORTANTLY.... The Lady owner is THE MOST POLITE, welcoming lady I've come across in any establishment we have visited. EVERY time we have visited, she thanks us for using her shop and supporting her business as she is well aware there are many places for drinks & food in Bakewell. PLEASE PLEASE visit and support this little treasure of a shop, you WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. The most welcoming owner EVER and really does deserve your business. ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

Before coming home from a short stay in Bakewell we called into the Jolly Fat Chef for a coffee. Lovely coutyard setting and nice coffees. Thank you.

Exceptional, the food , the presentation, the service is world class. The culinary experience is of the highest standards. Hidden away in the small town of Bakewell. I was recommended Lovage by my sister, and I have to say.. it was amazing! We had wine & tapas.. sensational! My friend & I chose lots of dishes, all of which were beautiful. The wine was amazing too. The lady who looked after us was brilliant and attentive. Will be coming back!!

Came here on a sunny day with my girlfriend. Great service (staff were kind) and prices, the food was amazing. We had the roast pork, stuffing and apple sauce rolls - would highly recommend 😊.

Beautiful tasty very well presented healthy food. Wonderful friendly service and good vegan choices. There is also a good choice of hot and cold drinks including smoothies and shakes.

Had brunch with friends who have just moved to the area, 2 orders of eggs Benedict and one full breakfast all outstanding and beautifully presented. The best eggs I think I have ever tasted! The ladies who looked after us today were very professional but mostly very friendly and patient taking time to show us around and answer all our questions, the lady serving us was very attentive and had a great sense of humour 🤣We will definitely be back.

We booked a last minute bank holiday Sunday lunch when staying at nearby Bakewell. Despite being very busy we were squeezed in and did not feel at all rushed. The service was friendly and welcoming, the sunday lunch excellent, and the pudding (bakewell pudding) even better. Fantastic rose wine. Just great, you made our day. Thank you!

Friendly welcome, proper coffee. Spacious seating. Lovely staff, fresh cooked food. A very welcome & happy accidental find- would highly recommend 😀
