The Chakra Lounge- Bakewell in Derbyshire Dales

Lovely people, fabulous menu, super delicious Indian fusion food and drinks, good spot, nice relaxing vibe and grebackground music. Great vegan options. Would definitely recommend and we'll be back!

If I could I would give this place 7 out of 5. We both had Makhani chicken and it was absolutely incredible. Altho just off the square it is far enough from the crowds to not be heaving on a weekday lunch or appeared to be so. Service was good, tge place had a nice atmosphere and tge food outstanding.

Fantastic vegetarian brunch - delicious food, great service. Lovely complimentary cakes, highly recommend and it was dog friendly.

From the moment we entered and were greeted by a lovely smiling, friendly girl on the till - to the moment we left and again got a big warm friendly goodbye - this place made us feel welcomed and well looked after. The coffee was great and the cakes some of the best I've ever tasted

The value for money was incredible, I had the chickpea curry with naan, which is listed as a simple recipe but I found it to be far from simple in such an amazing way, never before have I thought that sweet fruits such as blueberries , grapes and raspberries would go together so well with a chickpea curry! I highly recommend this dish and can’t wait to come back to try different things too! Also the oat milk cappucino was perfect, all in all everything about this food experience exceeded my expectations, it’s just a shame I live so far away from this place and that really is the only bad thing I have to say :)

Was just visiting Bakewell and thought I'd try The Chakra for lunch, what great place to go. The foods fresh and tasty and the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come again.

We walked all around Bakewell late afternoon looking somewhere for lunch and everywhere was closing but then we came across Chakra and it once just was we needed! Great atmosphere, food and friendly staff.

Lovely food and atmosphere. Very unique menu and nice sized portions too! There was lots more I wanted to try on the menu and my family all enjoyed their food as well.

Super friendly staff! Food was flavoursome, the spicey beans were on point! The sweet potato and caramel latte was actually divine! Would definitely recommend if you’re ever in Bakewell

So good we ate there twice in one weekend! Relaxed in a bright and cheerful setting right in the centre of Bakewell. The chickpea curry was totally delicious, well flavoured and nice thick sauce. The poke bowl was spicy hot, delicious and the kofta were tasty. Plenty of side salads with both, and a cup of mint tea to wash it down. What a great addition to Bakewell!

My first visit today and I will definitely be back There’s lots of seating , it’s roomy and light and very relaxing. The menu was interesting, we only had coffee today but I really enjoyed my cortado and I will definitely be back to try some food. I love that I could enjoy a coffee with my dog today.

Since me and my four-legged friend are inseparable I am always on the look out for a combination of dog friendly/vegan good food places and Chakra fits the bill. Tasty food with an Indian twist and VEGAN options- dog allowed. Yay! So happy. I carry a little blanket with me and they are happy for her to sit in the window on her blanket -( bear in mind she is a small, non- shedding well behaved dog!)

I've been here a number of times, most recently for a birthday lunch. It's a simple menu that doesn't change much but that's OK because everything is delicious. I've taken a number of friends and everyone leaves very happy. Friendly and helpful staff, delicious food and fabulous hot and cold drinks beautifully presented.

Was disappointed with the drinks. Refreshing drink ordered, which was described as a fruit flavour with soda, but it was just a syrup topped up with Sprite rather than soda water. Couldn't stir it due to so much ice (and, therefore, very little drink) and some frozen fruit. The straw got so soggy very quickly that it couldn't be used. Extremely expensive for what I actually received.

This is a great little cafe/restaurant a couple of minutes from the central area of Bakewell. The food was very tasty and staff friendly.

Oh my god! Everyone go here for not only the AMAZING food but the BEAUTIFUL vibes & kind & gorgeous staff. We turned up at closing time, they fed us with food from heaven, amazing flavours, generous portions. Food and people deserving appreciation. Thank you and like Arnie says, we'll be back! X
