Wide choice of dishes. All our choices were spiced nicely and well described in terms of the hotness. Meat moist, lamb tender (not mutton)!. Clean linen table cloths and napkins (not paper). Very comfortable chairs. Nice, clean, surroundings and pleasant (non intrusive) background music. Friendly service. Made to feel valued. Excellent quality of food and very good value. Will definitely go again. It was clear from talking to the manager that the restaurant was his passion, not just a job. Will definitely go again.

Wonderful meal with friends while on holiday. We came in early with a toddler and a baby. The food was delicious and we were very well looked after.

Thank you for a wonderful meal. The customer service was amazing. We arrived without a booking but were served very promptly and all of our food and drink arrived very quickly. They were even prepared to cook dishes that weren’t on the menu and consulted with us on preferred style. Very good with small children/toddlers. Cannot thank them enough

We have enjoyed many meals at the Shalimar over the years! the service is exceptional and each and every time we visit we are all impressed. We have a good relationship with staff and local or holiday maker the Shalimar staff will make you feel welcome and the food is second to none.

The staff was brilliant and the place is cosy and comfortable. That looks to be the main reason for high ratings. The dishes were average tasting dishes, my chicken was ok, but dryish and lacking taste as it was not cooked in the sauce. The garlic naan was also blunt. The Oreo desert was quite good though!

Wonderful food and brilliant atmosphere, the staff were 10/10 especially Shak who went above and beyond. We were out to celebrate a birthday and they made it extra special and memorable for us.

Great service from Marcus, recommended a dish we've never tried and it didn't disappoint. Also had extravagant toilets and a great variety of coloured straws. Sorry to hear about your TV control from 2005.

Visiting the area and had one of the best Tandoori meals in a long time last night. The atmosphere was welcoming. The owner and staff an absolute delight and the food just fabulous. Made me wish we were local and could visit more often.

we have just spent the loveliest evening here with old friends.❤️Everything was perfect from start to finish!it was the best curry I had eaten in literally years!Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the dishes.The staff were so attentive without being intrusive,they were friendly and funny and made us feel very welcome and so special,they advised us well when we asked about food choices and couldn't help enough.The restaurant is very clean,beautifully decorated and has a lovely calm atmosphere with attention to detail in every area.i would 100 percent recommend Shalimar and it's staff to everyone I know and I definitely will return.Well done to the staff and Thankyou for making our evening extra special.xxx

Friendly greeting on arrival and great service. Menu had all the favourites and some restaurant specials … but all the food we had was special and extremely delicious. Holiday visit for us and would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

We enjoyed a wondferful dinner at The Shalimar. Visiting from the US, we have been so excited to enjoy a curry back home in the UK. Everything we had was magnificent, and the service was amazing. Thank you to the staff at The Shalimar! You went above and beyond!

Amazing atmosphere, staff were extremely kind and the food was really different to other curry houses I have visited. As a food journalist it is important to maintain high standards and it is clear this restaurant meets B5, C6.b and B9 standards.

Called in late evening on spec for a takeaway. All staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. I’m not very adventurous when it comes to Indian cuisine, but fancied a change from my usual choice(s). Staff member recommended a choice, which I went with. On returning home the food was absolute delicious and flavoursome. I enjoyed it so much I was compelled to phone Shalimar to thank the staff member personally and of course write this review. If you’re in the area call in - you won’t be disappointed

Another wonderful meal! The Shalimar never disappoints. The food is always excellent and the staff are so friendly and go above and beyond to ensure everyone has a great experience. I came for a birthday meal and without asking, they had set the table out with banners and confetti and had even got me a cake - so thoughtful! This restaurant is brilliant because it is so consistently good with food quality and service.

Delicious food and incredible service. Great sense on humour. They went above and beyond to accommodate our group especially at short notice. We went there for a friend's birthday and they even gave her a free cake with sparklers and music, and a card as well! Thank you so much, we will definitely come back

We had excellent food and received a high quality service at the Shalimar tonight. The restaurant itself roomy, clean, comfortable and finished to a high standard. My husband and I really enjoyed our food: tandoori chicken byriani and a chefs special dish - king prawn dream. The peshawari naan and rice was fresh light and fluffy. If in the area again I would return for another visit. Would I recommend the food and restaurant service - Yes. Thankyou Shalimar🙏😊

We have just finished a fantastic meal from The Shalimare restaurant, to which was absolutely delicious, courteously delivered piping hot to our accommodation, as we've escaped for a few days to Chatsworth house estate. Highly recommend this restaurant & we'll definitely order from them again. The cheese & chilli naan was goooooooood...
