Exceptional, the food , the presentation, the service is world class. The culinary experience is of the highest standards. Hidden away in the small town of Bakewell. Michelin guide experience at its best. Absolutely faultless. 7 course taster menu with wine 😼‍💹 Best of the best
.. if it’s good enough for Tom Cruise, it’s good enough for me

This is a small friendly hotel in a very nice location. We stayed just one night and will definitely return. The room was well appointed and our dinner and breakfast were exceptional. It’s rare to find food cooked with this level of creativity and skill in the UK. The sun was shining and we walked from the hotel onto the Monsal Trail. It’s a perfect base from which to explore the best of the Peak District. The Riverside team were fantastic and work very hard to make things perfect. Thank you for looking after us so well.

We dropped into The Lime Lounge Coffee House during a visit our trip to Bakewell. The drinks were lovely and the Biscoff slice that me and my daughter brought was absolutely amazing! So much so we brought a slice each for the whole family to take home with us too! Everyone was super friendly and the coffee shop had a lovely welcoming vibe. Even the wall paper in the toilets had a positive vibe - loved that! We shall definitely return and recommend others stop by and check this place out!

Enjoyed afternoon tea at the Cavendish restaurant at Chatsworth house as a birthday treat. It’s expensive but it was exquisite. The venue is lovely. We had great service and at no time were we rushed. The choice of tea/ coffee is fantastic. Our server was happy to make recommendations on choices. All the food was delicious - from the soup starter to the exquisite cakes. A palette cleanser of Elderflower sorbet was delicious. Great choice of sandwiches and a delicious Welsh rarebit Bon Bon. Warm scones, jam & cream. We all enjoyed the afternoon tea very much in beautiful surroundings.

Tasteless chips and looked anemic. At ÂŁ26 for a takeaway for 3 people you expect a lot better.

I do love The Rutland Arms and visit quite regularly. When they get it right here, it’s unbeatable, and they got it right when four of us visited for a family lunch in December. We all chose different main courses and, apart from my slight disappointment that the kitchen had run out of apple sauce to accompany my roast pork, everything was spot on. One of our group had roast beef, one went for the fish and chips and the other person chose coachman’s chicken. As well as the perfectly cooked veggies that were served with the dishes, we shared a couple of portions of cauli cheese and it was all divine. My roast pork was tender, lean and melted in the mouth as, apparently, was the roast beef. Prior to our mains, two of us had the carrot, coriander and coconut soup, served with lovely crusty bread, and it had the most gorgeous flavours. I loved the croutons, too, which were lovely and crunchy on the outside with a nice softness inside. Timings were perfect, with just the right amount of time to relax between the courses when I could savour the utter deliciousness of the soup. The other three managed deserts, one crumble and two crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e, and, although the latter is my all time favourite dessert, I was stuffed to the point of thinking I’d need to be rolled out of the place if another morsel passed my lips! Service was faultless. With drinks and 10% service charge, our bill came to just under ÂŁ166 which, I felt, was excellent value for money. It really was a perfect family lunch.

Lovely friendly staff and great carvery. Very much ‘home style’ with good servings and excellent choice. If you’re in or around Bakewell then give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Just a tip when paying your bill - PAY BY CASH !! I payed by card and the transaction went through twice, I tried many times to get my money back and been unsuccessful đŸ˜„ so had to go to my bank and try to resolve the problem-not good when the owner won’t credit back what they owe me and it’s issue 2 months down the line, after many opportunities to do so !!!

Feel pretty upset and let down with our experience here after weeks of looking forward to it for my birthday and travelling an hour to get here. We booked the afternoon tea - I’m a vegetarian and my partner isn’t so I didn’t book the vegetarian option on the basis that I thought there’d be a selection of sandwiches to cover both meat and non-meat options. Unfortunately, of the 6 sandwiches provided, only 1 was vegetarian so I was only able to eat 1 small sandwich. I think the menu also needs to be amended as it isn’t at all clear that the afternoon tea is £36 per person. I can take responsibility for not double checking this before booking however I assumed this price would cover the 2 of us as £72 for afternoon tea for 2 people is absolutely insane to me. It was a nasty shock when we went to pay at the end, particularly as I didn’t really feel at all satisfied or full up with what I’d eaten. We found a couple of the staff a little rude and abrupt also. On a positive note, the restaurant is beautiful and has a lovely cosy feel. Sorry to leave a negative review, I don’t like to do that I just feel really upset and like it ruined my birthday a little.

Popped in for a refreshing drink after a stroll around the town. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. A great range of drinks and although we didn’t eat
the food looked amazing! The beer garden area was bright and cheerful with plenty of seating. We stall definately pop in again and hopefully try the Sunday lunch too â˜ș
