Ezri, Callum,Amy & Hannah at the Bakewell pudding shop have always gone out of their way to make every visit a memorable one. A visit to Bakewell is never complete without a visit to the pudding shop. On one occasion Hannah went into the stores to find the box of coffee and walnut cake when it was finished in the counter. Such a dedicated and wonderful team.

The food was dreadful and expensive. Can’t say it any plainer. Schnitzel was burnt and poorly presented. Pasted was soggy. The very worst was the waffles which had been microwaved and were solid! Just the two us for a birthday meal with one drink each and it cost £91!

Visited The Cavendish at Chatsworth with my mum for a festive lunch, good choice on the festive menu of starters, mains and desserts, we both had chicken liver parfait for starter, my mum had the fish pie for main course and I had the 3 bird Wellington all were tasty, well cooked and presented. Desserts we had the cherry and chocolate tart and blackberry financier again both delicious. Staff were friendly and service good. All in all a lovely lunch. Ps, the pinot noir was lovely too!!

Definitely worth a visit for a Sunday carvery. Owners are so welcoming but equally their staff, young and older were so welcoming, polite and friendly. Portion sizes huge but as a roast potato enthusiast could have done with more than the one we were given. Give this place a go if you want real Bakewell hospitality and delicious produce.

Everything you want from a countryside tea room. Great beverages, home made cakes, great service and delightful old world charm in a stunning garden location. Our new favourite tea room. Last visit we were joined by a special guest who’d brought his lunch in with him

Went for a family lunch as reviews were good - disappointed. Lovely woman behind the bar, clearly short staffed for the busy between Christmas and new year period. They didn't have 2 things we wanted on the menu but it was a long while after ordering that we found this out. One veggie option which was supposed to be risotto but was actually dry rice not creamy which risotto is supposed to be, with small chunks of butternut squash, without the parmesan and sage mentioned in the menu. Burger had weirdly thick and undercooked bacon. Turkey sandwich advertised as hot was cold. Shepherd's pie was very good, cod goujon sandwich was fine. I hadn't the heart to mention all of the things as lady behind bar coping on her own was so nice and clearly working flat out. Place is a bit shabby could do with some basic TLC. Loos lovely and immaculate.

A really lovely lunch at the Peacock Inn. Food was tasty and arrived quickly, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Lots of choice and variety of food including veggie options, and some lighter choices including sandwiches, paninis and jacket potatoes which we really enjoyed. Dog friendly and a lovely location - recommend!
