Pop being served in cans is a no no for me. Poor presentation and the side salad was very poor (nothing like the photos!!) Over priced and not that much choice (had run out of bacon, eggs, various other things). The panini was nice but not worth anywhere near the £6 price tag. And a waitress with a "piss off" tattoo on her arm?? Really??? I'm not averse to tattoos, have a couple myself but if it's something like that, cover it up when working!!! Won't be returning.

the food is ok, but the ventilation is way too terrible - our clothes and faces were covered with the smell of oil and smoke when we came out, I tried using fresheners but didn't work so I had to wash all of our waterproof jackets straight away in order to get rid off the unpleasant smell.

An excellent choice for our first Bakewell Pudding experience. They were delicious, oozing with jam and lovely crispy pastry, which was not at all greasy, washed down with a perfect cup of tea. Everything was served promptly and all Covid measures were in place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.Later, we purchased puddings from one of the well known shops, these ended up in the bin, nothing like as good, so we wished we’d asked for take away from here.

Had a great coffee here, spent £10 on three drinks so not cheap. First downside was they’re not adhering to covid regulations in terms of staff wearing face masks, seats not being suitable distanced etc. Anyway, we were about to leave as we waiting for our friend to return from the toilet and the older male employee came over and passive aggressively said ‘you’ve been here a while we’re turning people away’ We were sat by the door, no one was being turned away and there was a spare table next to us.... I suggest you read up on the covid rules for hospitality and then focus on your manners

Went here last week. Strange atmosphere. Felt like we were interrupting something. Ordered food but it was only when we'd sat down that I realised there wasn't a mask, no social distancing signs/indicators and not one bottle of hand sanitiser to be found. Food was OK - expensive for what you got. Not horrible but wouldn't return.

Came into the cafe today wanting to have something to eat with my friend. The atmosphere of the cafe is nice and average. However it’s not the cleanest. As I walked in I saw dirty cups on nearly most tables which didn’t have any customers sat on. I think while COVID 19 is happing places should look cleaner than usual. I went and ordered by nice staff very polite and welcoming. Me and my friend both ordered a bacon sandwich. The sandwich was good for its price but I do have to say the bacon was to crunchy for me and my friends liking. It came with to much of a big portion. However the experience was average.

As a reply to a review by Lucyloo1000, with all respect, with being a regular myself, you might have misunderstood or misread the situation between the owners and the staff (on what was one of the busiest days of the year for the cafe). Not only do they never shout at their staff, but in all likelyhood what you experienced was most likely meant in jest. The owners do nothing but support and take care of their staff (and guests) above and beyond, it's such a wonderful family built environment to visit. I am sorry you didn't fully enjoy your visit, but i feel you shouldn't speak for others in this matter as regulars know we and everyone in the cafe are treated with the upmost respect and understanding. As a side note, best coffee in Bakewell, unique blend sold nowhere else in the area, and the scones are to die for. 10/10 for me.

Went here on boxing day with some friends for a coffee and cake, which was fine, but the experience was ruined when a woman, who we assumed was the owner, constantly yelled and had a go at the counter staff, the other customers were equally horrified by this and one regular said that this was not unusual behaviour for her, i feel sorry for the employees and would not return.

We have visited The Lime Lounge lots of times (virtually every time we come to Bakewell) and we have never been disappointed. Today we had a range of coffees, teas, cakes and hot meals - the sausage melt ciabatta and the fishcakes were especially good. The coffee is great but what really makes this place stand out from the rest, is the excellent staff - staff who look genuinely pleased to be there and are so happy to help (such as extending one of the tables to make extra room for us to accommodate our little one in a highchair). I can't recommend highly enough!

After a walk that was much longer than initially planned, we decided to call in to the first café we came across in Bakewell, and this – just over the bridge – was it. It was a little past peak lunch time, and we found a table seat easily. We both chose items from the vegan menu, primarily because we hadn’t spotted the “standard” menu options from a blackboard slightly out of sight away from our table. But no matter, the vegetable casserole and the butternut squash Wellington were both very good. One minor point: we asked for tap water, and were each given only a small glass, which later we asked to be refilled. We had to ask if a jug of water could be provided, which it duly was … it would have been better if a jug had been provided as a matter of course. Still, we enjoyed the food and the ambience, and are very likely to return on future visits to Bakewell.

Super service, squashy sofas, magazines, table service..... and there's more. The food is freshly made, as are the beverages, and the portions are herculean. It is truly an oasis of excellence on all fronts. I had a cheese and onion soft baguette, my friend a tuna and mayo soft baguette. We almost came to blows over who had ordered what, as, frankly, I wanted both! I ended the impasse by sticking to my own order and it was probably one of the best I have ever had. It sat there on the plate (looking very large) and just like a perfectly ordinary (but large!) cheese and onion baguette. But it wasn't at all ordinary. I was so taken with it I approached the counter staff afterwards to ask what cheese they had used - suspecting it was a 'local' number! No, apparently not. Perfectly ordinary Cheddar. Well, I begged to differ on the 'ordinary', and the young man added that 'of course, we also sprinkle all our food with a good helping of love'. I adored the speedy riposte and made my farewell by stating that I was now sure they also served 'bull'. They loved it, We'll be back!

Having visited this cafe previously, we decided to nip in for a coffee. Being a group of 6 ladies we found a table in the corner and grabbed a couple of extra spare chairs which we moved to one side of the table, only to be told off quite abruptly by a member of staff advising that we couldn’t block a wheelchair access route. We were a bit taken about by the bluntness but understood so moved to another table in another corner of the restaurant. The couple on the next table offered us their small spare chairs which we put under the end of our table- not blocking anyone’s access. Suddenly a young waitress appeared shouting to staff - move these Bloody chairs its dangerous’! Looking at us and muttering “bloody hell”! We then got another ‘telling off’ from the staff, at which point the couple near us left saying we could use their table for 2 of our party. Had we not already ordered our coffees we would have walked straight out. I have never encountered such rudeness from a member of staff anywhere- not how you treat paying customers. No apology from the manager either. Unfortunately will not be returning!

Visited the lime lounge today with my family. We sat and ordered at the counter where we were served by friendly people who brought our order to us promptly. Whilst sat enjoying our drinks an incredibly rude woman stormed in to the cafe, loudly demanded we moved our pram, which was in no ones way (before dragging it to where she wanted it herself running over my sisters foot) told us we shouldn’t have moved a chair from a different table which was not being used by the occupants of said table!! Because it was blocking wheelchair access to the toilet (ironically where the chair was subsequently moved to made it more difficult to access the toilet for the invisible wheelchair that was no where to be seen) before insulting her staff because they had failed to reprimand us for moving an unused chair! The awful thing is that if she was in any way nice about the situation and politely asked us to move we would have and of course if a wheelchair user was in the building and needed access I would always be the first person to help! But the horrible rude woman has lost mine and my families service, as well as the surrounding tables who were equally horrified by her outburst!

We had two visits to the Lime Lounge and on both occasions it was busy. It looks inviting from the outside and this is matched by the warm welcome inside. We only had coffee, tea and tea cakes, so cannot comment further on the food, but service was prompt. My only personal preference is to avoid the metal tea pots on tables, and prefer crock. They just look better alongside the white cup and saucer and milk jug. But that is only me being fussy because the tea was great. Good to see a changing mat available for babies in the toilet area, and the toy box in the corner shows that this place welcomes children. We will come back on our next visit.

Having been disapointed elsewhere in town, we came across The Lime Lounge Coffee House in Bakewell by accident.

We visited this cafe after a wonder around Bakewell and all the staff were very happy and chatty which made it even nicer. I had a ham and cheese panini which was lovely, proper cooked ham and thick melted cheese. My husband had a chicken tikka baguette and noted how nice and fresh the bread was. The cakes looked delicious but we were just too full! Lovely cafe in the heart of Bakewell.

We cam here three times during our stay in Bakewell as we felt it was the best cafe in the town. Breakfast options are good. We were particularly impressed with their more unusual and interesting cake options.

We had breakfast here whilst staying at the Castle Inn as they had no facilites for breakfast (temporary situation) and had arranged for guests to eat here. There is a good choice and everything was served piping hot by friendly staff.

We popped in for a drink and a snack. The god was very good and the staff really friendly. The place was clean and had complimentary newspapers. Above all they played good music - well, to my taste anyway. Worth a visit.

We have been travelling for 8 weeks and had almost given up on getting a good 'large flat white'. For some unfathomable reason the UK has decided that flat whites can't be large! But in lovely Bakewell the friendly staff at this cafe make an excellent large flat white with one of the best ever designs. It is somewhat pathetic to be wanting a large flat white so much. Perhaps it's a kiwi/Aus thing. Great good too.

Although the person who made my coffee said they were not barista trained the flat white I had was particularly good and authentic. Many places in England that advertise a flat white do not really seem to understand what a flat white should be like. Among the best flat whites I have had.

Lovely welcoming staff. Amazing lunch choices (sweet or savoury) and good gluten free options too. The tables are not too close together so one can talk without being overheard. I have family who went for breakfast and stayed for lunch and dinner.

This place was recommended by a local shop keeper and we were so pleased with it, we went back to tell him how much we had enjoyed it. Loved the layout of the cafe, thoroughly enjoyed our lunch although I couldn't eat 2 stuffed oat cakes. Owner was very chatty and welcoming.

We had a very pleasant time sitting here having a very welcome coffee. The time was not right for food but everything looks lovely. Very pleasant staff who did not make us feel hurried at all. Will definitely call in again. This place was recommended to us by a friend.

Stumbled upon this coffee shop in Bakewell and can’t praise their service and food enough. We had the cooked breakfast on 4 separate occasions during our 2 week holiday. Portions are huge and absolutely delicious - certainly set us up for a days walking.
