We pre-booked a table at The Lavender tea rooms for a traditional afternoon tea. The food was delicious and huge portions - we each had our own cake stand. We were unable to eat it all but we're provided with boxes to take the cakes home in. My daughter has a nut allergy and was catered for with a wonderful selection of different cakes. The tea room is in a courtyard with an outdoor seating area which would be wonderful in the warmer weather. The tea room was extremely popular while we were there with a steady stream of guests, they also sell cakes to take away. Thank you to Tony and his staff who were very attentive, we will definitely return.

We have stayed at the duke every other weekend from our first campervan adventure in February this year, we love it!! It's our happy place and there is nothing Bridget and the team wouldn't do to accommodate us, the campsite is lovely and the views are beautiful and the facilities are fantastic and clean, we love the pub with its lovely welcome, open fires and out of this world food !! We never want to stay anywhere else when visiting buxton/bakewell 5 stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 looking forward to seeing Bridget and the team soon 🥰

Been coming here 20+ years with my dad and we have never had a bad meal yet. It's our favourite place to have a catch up. The owner John is lovely and always has time to chat, you can tell he puts his heart and soul into the business and he is a credit to the cafe. Fisherman/greek salads were fab as were the iconic Bakewell puddings with ice cream. Will always choose here over anywhere else in Bakewell.

Fabulous beers in a terrific environment. Don’t be put off walking from Bakewell. Short 15 minute walk. Huge interior but warm and comfortable and a great vibe even on a Thursday afternoon in November.

£12 for a margarita and £12 for a meat feast ? Alarm bells should have rung then when most pizza's are the same price . I am unsure who has put good reviews on for this place but the pizzas are the worst we have ever had ! Definitely not fresh pizza ! Had to bank transfer £29 for 2x £12 pizza and 1x£4 fries, clearly their maths isn't too good either. I would rather eat dry bread than eat this frozen rubbish.. we waited about half an hour and was not told there would be a wait, husband had gone the fish and chip shop round the corner and eaten his before we had even got ours, whole experience was just awful.
