Just what was needed on a busy Market day in Bakewell we were lucky to bag a table in this small cafe and had a lovely full English with a pot of Yorkshire Tea, staff so friendly and run off of their feet as people queued for a seat. So much better than the branded coffee shops

We stopped here for breakfast, the cafe is very small with only four small tables (four people was cosy) which is not their fault but did mean we had to wait for a table to become free. We ordered the mega breakfast which was admittedly good value (especially with unlimited hot drinks), although interestingly our mega breakfast (largest on the menu) was not as big as the plate which emerged for another table…perhaps special service for locals or regulars? The service we received was superficially friendly…did not feel like our custom was particularly appreciated but we were an unwelcome interruption.

Just called in today for something simple (everyone else in Derbyshire seemed to be elsewhere queuing for fish & chips!) Decided in bacon & egg cob and bacon & mushroom cob. They were both gorgeous. So much bacon - and no fat or rind either. They were really generously filled The pot of tea came with plenty of hit water refills too This is how to be successful, and fantastic value for money

Absolutely superb breakfast. Great, friendly staff who, despite being really busy, made us feel very welcome and couldn't do enough to provide a wonderful service. The food was spot on! No grease running around the plate. Cooked the bacon and eggs as requested to perfection. Dog friendly too. Will definitely return when we are next in Balewell.

Called in on Saturday morning looking for a cheap cooked breakfast whilst visiting Bakewell and this place certainly lived up to expectations.Very small cafe only enough space for 16 customers. 2 two-seated tables and 3 four-seated tables. Evidently one the locals frequent but don’t let this put you off visiting and grabbing yourself a cheap but good breakfast.Partner had the mega breakfast for £7.50 which comes with a hot drink and I had poached eggs on toast. Both very satisfied with our breakfasts and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.Only downside is how small the place is that the place is evidently loosing business because two elderly couples that wasted two four seaters, when the venue could have had the business of 8 other people who had to go look elsewhere.

I visited this little cafe with friends on a busy school holiday Monday after looking around Bakewell for somewhere suitable. It’s tucked away in a small arcade and has limited table space, three tables for four and a couple of tables for two. We were lucky and they had two tables free. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the service is not waitress service for ordering but they do deliver food to your table. Good light bite menu with hot, cold and toasted sandwiches, breakfast items and a good selection of cakes and scones. Good coffee and a pots of tea for one that actually have at two and a half cups in them. Food well prepared presented and at a fair price. Would recommend for this type of meal.

myself, mum also a friend found this little gem after seeing most places in bakewell were over priced for something simple like a sandwich. we waited around 15 minutes outside the cafe for a seat but having seen they didnt over charge we was willing to wait, immediately after people left the lovely young girl came over and cleaned the tables. we ordered 3 mega breakfasts with unlimited hot drinks I am very picky myself and do complain when things are not cooked to my liking and I didnt have anything bad to say the food was absolutely delicious we was always offered a re-fill on the cuppa staff are fantastic!! we will be back (save us a seat) & I would highly recommend to others!!

After walking around much of Bakewell trying to find a reasonably priced cafe, we decided to give Granby Cafe a go. It had a menu outside so we could see what we would want to order. We decided to go for the two mega breakfasts which was £7.95 with unlimited hot drinks, wow! The food was fresh to order, as you can see the two ladies cooking it (who were also very pleasant). We got the option of hot or cold milk, which not many places offer. The food came quick, nice and fresh and hot. And it was a large portion. Absolutely stuffed afterwards, but thorough enjoyed. Would return if we found ourselves in Bakewell again, and would recommend to family/friends who may visit. Thank you.

I visited these tearooms with my daughters on Friday 24th May. I have been to other tea shops in Bakewell, but Toscas is by far the best. We had afternoon tea for three of us, we sat outside in the court yard. The afternoon tea arrived and there was lots of lovely cake and sandwiches, beautifully presented, and our host friendly and gave us a warm welcome. We really enjoyed our afternoon tea, very civilised, we will defiantly be visiting again. In fact we will have a day out to bakewell just to visit Toscas .

Fantastic cafe, the icing on the cake (no pun intended) being the birds feeding next to the window. The staff are friendly and efficient and the the food is of a good standard and reasonably priced. I can't understand the few negative reviews, maybe some folk have unfeasibly high standards/expectations?
