Stayed overnight on a short biking trip. The kitchens were closed for refurbishment but they called me in advance to let me know, so this was no problem and there are plenty of alternatives locally. That said, breakfast was available and was delicious. My room was perfect! Spacious, really clean, super comfy with a really lovely bathroom. The bed was easily large enough (I'm 6'3") and comfy. LOVED the fact that there was no TV but good quality Wi-Fi was there anyway; I wanted some peace and quiet in lovely surroundings - and found it. Really liked it too that the the rooms could be accessed from the back and not just through the (charming) bar. Once the refurbishments are complete I shall definitely be returning. Gem of a place.

Wonderful community pub. Sunday roast beef was superb. Lovely staff .Perfectly situated in the middle of walking the Bamford Edge circuit via the Thornhill trail.

Quick lunch with some old colleagues Food from about 8 pounds and up. Burgers Flatbread Dirty fries etc The dirty fries are good value There is no parking but parking is available on the edge of town

Visited this evening with the mother, ordered a rare ribeye steak with all the trimmings and a battered fish. There was hairs in my mothers fish dish and my steak was cooked medium if not medium well done (couldn't even finish it) my recommendations from previous visits is order anything but the steak as the cooks clearly aren't capable of cooking them right. Other than that the sides were nice and the garlic bread was good, left disappointed
