Middlemore Farm in Daventry

Visited the Middlemore Farm today for the first time and it was incredible. 10/10 service from our waitress, couldn’t do enough for us. Not just us, but all the tables round us. She was a lovely lady. The food was incredible. We had a roast and was all super pleased, probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Very filling as well and very tasty. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

Popped in with the kids for Halloween. Great night! Disco, games and sweeties. Definitely a great night for kids in school holidays. Do more kids stuff. They loved it!

My wife, grandson and myself were very hungry and knew that we could get a meal at 3.30 PM at The Middlemore Farm. From the greeting as we entered to the moment we left the staff could not have been better. The food was excellent, the pub was spotlessly clean and all of the staff were very helpful and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend the pub for a lunch or evening meal

Lovely welcoming atmosphere. Staff extremely accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble. Food is consistently top quality and a great selection on the menu. Always our go to place for any occasion.

Was a quiet Tuesday night but service and food were great.

This place has in my opinion one of the most rude, unaware and incompetent managers whoever let this guy run the place should surely reconsider. On all your responses to other peoples 1 and 2 star reviews hes seems unable to see why people were unhappy. I have honestly never met someone so incapable of been polite and it's the worst experience in a restaurant iv ever had and have been to over 50 in my lifetime. I'm normally slow to criticize but your attitude was appalling and that fact that u are blind to that is even worse.

Just had a wonderful evening at this pub! The service was amazing, and we really enjoyed ourselves. Definitely a place to check out for a good time! Shout out to the Waiter Jay, definitely made our night

Was a bit worried after seeing a few bad food reviews however the food at this place is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly and attentive, making our dining experience even better. Highly recommend!

Having read some of the other reviews this will come as no suprise. The manager I think his name is Paul?, was extremely unpolite on numerous occasions and conducted was honestly one of the worst we have come across. It came across he didn't care. The food was average, the roast potatoes were over done and carrots not fresh. The only redeeming factor was the lovely assistant manager who was very apologetic and said sorry..

I had the opportunity to eat Sunday lunch in this pub. I was very pleasantly surprised because at the entrance you could pour water for dogs and take treats. It was the first time I saw a menu for dogs - it's very nice! Lots of space which is important when children are walking. The lunch was delicious - roast turkey. Everything was very well seasoned. I was very impressed with the non-alcoholic Mohito drink. The service was very nice, I will definitely go back there.

Very good, the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was good and reasonably priced (especially with the discount). The restaurant was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated Not so good was the car park, the bays seemed very small even for an average sized car. The service could have been quicker, but this could be forgiven as the restaurant was busy at the time.

Fantastic evening with friends, the staff really went out of their way to see our evening went smoothly. We had the steak and sea bass, both absolutely delicious and drink refills given promptly without being intrusive. And the desserts were so lovely and a very good selection, the rich caramel tart was to die for! Thank you for a lovely evening and we will be seeing you very soon!

Prompt attention, friendly service with a smile, pleasant environment and good food served well. Danetre Rotary come to Middlemore most Monday's and there are at least 15 of us and sometimes 25. We pre-order our meals and they are always served at 7pm and service is done within 5 minutes. The Club have been coming to Middlemore for 15 months and there has never been a complaint by any attendees. Fantastic Staff and Food.

4 star for the food as my husband's burger was overcooked to a point of being slightly burned. Forgot to give my child a side order of beans, which we mentioned to staff. Having said this, the staff were very apologetic and we could see the staff were run ragged. They did their upmost best to see to everyone's needs with a continued smile on their faces. We would definitely come back as the staff were so pleasant and very apologetic. Apart from the burger incident, the rest of the food was superb. A big thank you to all the staff , especially to Gemma for outstanding service and being so attentative, even under pressure, she continued to smile. Thank you so much.

Just had a great meal with our two dogs, and was very much looked after by paul who gave great service. Food delicious and VERY dog friendly, will definitely be back!

Food great specials were delicious and hot compliments to the chef(s) The pub was very busy but service was prompt and efficient our server Hayley was very helpful and the 30% off mains was a real money saver

Excellent place for business lunch or social gatherings

Staff were very friendly however the taste in the strength of drinks from my last visit prior (Friday) and this one (Monday) was very noticeable. The drinks were a lot weaker (Long Island Ice Tea) and did not taste the same at all

Had haloumi & pepper kebab which amounted to three smallish chunks of cheese and three slices of roast pepper - very underwhelming

One of the better Marston's pub. Has a decent Gluten Free (NGCI) menu. On the last occasion, service wasn't as good as usual and a long wait for food despite the place being quiet. Food was tasty and cooked nicely though.

Fantastic food, service and incredibly dog-friendly. This place ticked all the boxes for us. As a family of 5 and a dog, it can sometimes be hard to find a place that suits everyone, but we were so impressed with the food and the team who served us, and the doggie menu was the icing on the cake :-) Very happy customers here, we will definitely be returning soon and spreading the word !

Was recommended by a friend who visited recently Lovely converted barn in the heart of Middlemore estate, easy to find and park up. Spacious inside with some lively fireplaces and decor, staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was delicious and not a morsel was left on our plates! We had both the chicken and chorizo and halloumi and red pepper kebabs, with a hunter's chicken and halloumi fries, and we're torn between coming back for a second helping and trying out more of the menu! Desserts were definitely asked for and they were excellent, would definitely recommend the sundaes. Will be coming again soon Many thanks

Fantastic spot for meeting with family and friends, it really is so beautiful inside. With the homely little touches and a beautiful garden/patio area I was impressed from the get go. The parking was fantastic, plenty of space for lots of cars. The staff were so welcoming and the manager greeted us warmly and professionally (I think his name was Paul?) We received our food and drink in a timely manner, we had the ribeye steak and the lasagne - it was delicious! Generous portions and reasonably priced. All in all, Middlemore has now become one of my favourites.

What an amazing place. Really good parking facilities. Food was well cooked and we were served in a very timely fashion. Staff were really approachable and they made sure we had a most enjoyable lunch.

Came for a Sunday lunch and was so impressed with the whole experience. Venue is really pretty and well maintained. We immediately could see how popular the pub was as was very busy when we can in. We were greeted with a lovely smile by the chap that went on to serve us later. He notified us that due to how busy they were there would be a longer than normal wait for food, this was not a problem as we couod see how busy it was.....you can't come out on a Sunday at peak time and expect your food in seconds, this gave us time to chat and enjoy our drinks after all. The chap that served us (looked like a manager) was so friendly and was instantly there whenever we needed top ups, I honestly can say his service throughout was exceptional and you could tell he clearly has worked in this environment for a long time. Our food arrived in just over half an hour, which again was fully understandable considering how bustling the place was. Everything was lovely and hot and good portion sizes. I had the lasagne and my partner had a sirloin steak, both delicious and hot. Prices were what you would expect in current times, but we'll worth it with food being nice and tasty and service being exceptional. Overall a lovely experience and will definitely come back!

Friendly welcome and good service ordered 2 roasts beautiful presentation but could have been warmer requested extra gravy as only a tiny jug supplied was told it would be an extra 2.50 so declined was surprised at Bill when it came but was charged 10 pounds for a gin and tonic it materialised I'd been charged for a double 'buy one shot get one half price' we never asked forward double nor were offered this deal! We were offered desserts but when we declined these or more drinks we were brought the bill! Within a few minutes we were asked to pay felt like we were being asked to leave despite pub was mostly empty Nice food tender meat but should have been hotter and more gravy should never be charged could understand being rushed if table was required but it clearly wasn't and feel very ripped off about the gin!

Lovely food, great service and wonderful atmosphere

Lovely atmosphere. Attentive and friendly service. Staff were very patient since we were catching up and forgetting to get around to the menu. Just the right amount of seeing that we had everything we needed while giving us space to enjoy our meal. Can’t overstate how lovely and spacious the actual restaurant feels when you come in, while being charming and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back here!

Just visited Middlemore Farm for a light lunch, the service from the welcome to the moment we left was exquisite. Jennifer and Paul gave great service with a smile and accommodated to all our needs. The food was superb! Fabulous lunch menu with 2 courses for £15! Great value with brilliant portion sizes. Would highly recommend!

We went to middlemore for food today and the service was so welcoming, the staff was so polite and very attentive to our needs. My son asked for something that wasn’t on the menu on a Sunday but still allowed him to have it. Thank you for that, he was very happy. Would definitely recommend to friends. Thank you Paul, Tim, Cully and the rest of the staff and obviously the chefs for your lovely food/service.

Very poor, I found this on line needing somewhere to meet with family mid way on journey to wedding. Reviews were good so I booked for a light lunch. Greeting was warm and welcoming and the only good thing about visit was this member of staff. Firstly we only really wanted a sandwich, but you can only have this on a week day. Then we asked for a sharing platter, but half the items were missing. We asked if tge kitchen would prepare a sandwich this once. Burmt no ' they'd have to to this everyday if they did it this once'. We were given option of making up a platter with items of choice, and food was OK. But who runs this pub, clearly the chef, where's the customer service gone, back when I worked in the kitchen we would ensure we retained customers and helped out. Good job were not local as it would be visited again. Who ever owns this place, you need to look again at staffing and menus

A convenient place for a drink and bite to eat.

Couldn't change the trio roast by taking 1 meat off so we was told to order the beef and add pork it works out the same no it didn't its £2 more than the trio. The meat came out tasting the same and the Yorkshire pudding was over done the dog enjoyed the dinner. The pie and mash, me and my partner had that. He enjoyed it and eat it all the dog had most of mine the glazed carrots were over cooked and cold the mash tasted like it was frozen not fresh and for the price you would think it would be fresh. The 2 dinners were not hot the plates were hotter staff didn't seem to be bothered with any of this. The chips and onion rings were the hottest food we all had from this place. My 11-month-old grandson didn't want to eat what we took off our plates for him but ate a sachet of baby food. The dog loved what she had. The table next to us ordered a dog dinner and it came that hot they had to leave it to cool down. Shame our food wasn't hot like that. For the time we waited you would think it would have been hot food. For the price of the food you would think it would be nice good fresh cook food. I won't be coming and I don't recommend it. It was just under £70 for 3 adults dinner

Drinks were lovely. Food came out quickly and was so fresh and tasty. If hun to my head anything was to change it would be to put the dog menu on the online menu too. ( the dog menu is adorable)

Spontaneous visit on a Friday evening for dinner, although you had lots of bookings we was given a warm welcome and a table was found. Food was promptly severed and was hot and delicious. Clean , good food and good service.

Always good service at middlemore, can be slow at times but you get that everywhere so definitely not a reason to put you off. Pub itself is really nice with a good beer garden, food is always spot on. Waitress Faith is really friendly and you can tell she enjoys her job

The food is good pub grub, but the service lets the place down. Each time I have gone to this venue the service is slow, you have to flag someone down just to take your order and the food can take over an hour to come out. At times, servers have been rude. I would only go there for a drink now, rather than food.

A golden spice that has the best burger by a long mile. Jenny was an absolute host of note and I will highly recommend the establishment bar none in Daventry. A golden gem to say the least. I had no other option but to share this today. One word Amazing.

As it was fathers day it was busy so we waited abit for drink and food. Service was top notch.

Good range of food however the server was disinterested & just seemed frustrated with us. He didn’t bring a pad for our coffee & dessert order so we were missing one coffee and another was just frothy milk & hot water. Made me question whether I want to come back

Went with my wife and daughter for Fathers Day, and the place was fully booked. We opted for Turkey Roast Dinner and it was excellent (great yorkshires. Despite the busy day, Jemma looked after us very well - just the right level of attentiveness, was very considerate and friendly. One request - the stuffing balls were delicious, but too small - could be twice the size! In our opinion this place is on the up following a few years of decline. Would definitely recommend and will return.

Awful! Pre Father’s Day meal really spoilt for our family. Two steaks were incorrectly cooked, one too tough to eat, very overdone and one pouring with blood. No chunky chips, because they were being ‘saved’ for Father’s Day, we were told. The skinny chips we were forced to have were hard and some were cold. We were promised a credit for one meal and then the Manager offered £5! Eventually did refund. We spent about £150, with drinks. This wasn’t a good experience and ruined our day. Have been here many, many times and won’t rush back. Seems to have gone downhill lately. We travelled 100 miles to be with family. Advise you to think twice, before coming here.

We have been going to this pub for many, many years. We he’d my MIL’s funeral gathering there. It does sometimes disappoint and unfortunately it did yesterday. We attended to celebrate Father’s Day early and my Wife and I travelled 100 miles. Upon ordering meals, we were informed that the chunky chips were not available, as they were being ‘saved’ for Father’s Day. What the flipping heck? Surely the best bet would have been to ensure enough of such a basic item was ordered by the person who is responsible for supplies. We were forced to have skinny chips, which only one of our party would have ordered out of choice. Saying that the chips were hard and not nice on arrival. So not acceptable. This absolutely spoilt it for all of us, especially Dad, who has been very poorly recently and did not eat most of his. Further to ruin our special meal, my Wife ordered Rib - eye steak, cooked medium. On inspection, the blood was soaking into the chips and when she cut into it, blood flowed. It was cooked very rare not medium. They agreed to change it, but this meant that my Wife ended up eating long after we had finished. Her chips were cold, but she couldn’t bear to mention it. The other four mixed grills were okay, apart from the terrible chips, except Dad’s steak was overcooked and hard. He was too embarrassed to say much, till afterwards. My Wife did ask the Manager about being credited for the meal and she grudgingly agreed. But when I went to pay, the offer was only for £5, for a £25 meal, (including sauce)! Eventually she did give a reimbursement, but only when pressed. We spent about £150 including drinks and wished that we had gone elsewhere. Think this place needs to training for - The person who orders food supplies The Manager/server The ‘Chef’ I am a trained Chef and there is no way I would have sent the steaks out like that. The chips weren’t as good as Maccies. Big disappointment , something has changed since we were last here. Won’t rush back. Just to add - it was almost empty, I wonder why.

Long wait. I've ordered a coctail and waited 30.mins for it. The whole party waited over an hour for a food.

Always fantastic, myself and my friend try and go once a week, my friend has onset Dementia and getting worse week by week, she has a child's meal the staff always have a Child's menu ready for her, she chooses the same every week and they always remember what she has to drink when she struggles to remember

Great service and food as always. We had to wait for some of our guests who were delayed,which wasn’t a problem with staff at all. Never felt rushed 😀

- Felt like we were shoved in the corner of an empty restaurant - Took a while for drinks orders to be taken - Starters being cleared took a while - The fish was inedible (this was eventually resolved at payment time as we didn't get a thorough check back during meal time) the fish actually resulted in a member of the party vomiting all night - We didn't get a check back for extra drinks - A member of the party had to leave and find someone to be able to pay her bill - We sat for at least 40 mins with empty plates after mains with no drinks, when we called a member of staff over who essentially told us we weren't important and we'd been forgotten about due to the Rotary Club and we'd have to wait - We were looking forward to puddings but due to the long wait for the plates to be cleared, we didn't have time - We were told to wave once we were ready to pay to wave someone over, but there was again no one around, so we had to go find someone after a further 5 minutes

I absolutely love this pub, my go to place! The staff are all so friendly and accommodating and there is always a lovely atmosphere in there. Love the menu something for everyone and the food is amazing! I may have a slight obsession with the halloumi fries.

Fabulous Sunday Lunch well cooked very well presented and all five of us were more than happy good size portions satisfied everyone Yorkshire pudding were outstanding also great children's menu whole menu excellent value for money will definitely be back soon can highly recommend - Gemma was great

Very very pleasantly surprised to find quality food at excellent prices and top service by the staff. I booked for 18 people and the table was ready for us on arrival. All the orders were taken without fuss or errors and everything came out at the same time - always important. It's been quite some time since we last came here, but we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Would recommend and will definitely go back.

A huge barn has been converted to pub/dining. It's well presented but it somehow lacks personality. The food was fine, substantial portions, facilities good, drinks fine, but no individual feel to it. Went as part of a large group at lunchtime after a walk which was handled well.

I love coming here. My family, friends and work colleagues always like it too. Consistently friendly service from front of house - and as for Jen, she is probably the best host I’ve ever met. Never a dull moment. Cheers us up when you’ve had a busy day! And I think it’s important to mention the chefs because we never see them - we love the sausage and mash and my personal favourite is the mixed grill. And the kebab is a favourite too. The best place to come for a drink and/or something to eat in Daventry. Thank you Team Middlemore Farm.

We've been a good few times here now, trying various things, and what I will say is it has deeply gone down hill, its quite expensive with what you get in terms of portion size and quality of the food. The actual building is beautiful, and most of the workers are polite and greet with a smile, some could do with learning how to smile and up there customer service a bit, now me, my partner and 2 children came here for some food, me and my partner had fish and chips, my son had a chicken type burger and my youngest had a child's burger, mine and my partners fish was awful, it genuinely looked more like a battered surf board tip, the portion size was poor, especially considering the fish wasn't enjoyable, my partner barely ate any of his, but after a £70+ bill I forced myself to eat more then he did, my youngest son didn't like his burger and infact heaved when he bit into it, my oldest sons looked good but was too spicy for him. We may return for drinks but not food.

The gent who was part server and part order taker made sure we had the right food and drinks - he corrected the mistakes from the kitchen. Frw good ideas and total enjoyed h9is job . What a pleasant change/ Everything else as should have been.

Organised a gathering for my father's 70th. The staff, food and service was brilliant. All staff front of house and waiters were all pleasant. The atmosphere was great too, clean and tidy.

As usual , the food was amazing, its was chilled today, but friendly ;but I get my own table service with a huge smile , compliments to the chefs ,they work soooo hard , n alwas get forgotten. So chefs at middlemore farm I am truly grateful n appreciate the devious food u take time n care to deliver. I will go back. Thank u

I wanted a quiet pub meal place for me and family that was visiting. I enquired with a friend and she recommended the Middlemore farm as she had been there in the week. She did say food service was slow, but i booked anyway. We were greeted when we arrived and shown a choice of table and someone was soon along with a request for a drinks order. It was a little while before we could order food. We did have to wait approx 25mins for food to arrive, but when it did, everyone was very happy with their meal and someone did come to check that all was good.

ERDINGER Lager....NOT served in own glass , as the head is TOO Big!....lol..then I was told Its because the glass is bigger than usual...(its not!)....and that people may be OVER THE LIMIT TO DRIVE!....Lol...I have heard some excuses..but this!....THE BOAT IN Braunston sell ERDINGER in its own glass....why not MIDDLEMORE....Strange right!!?

Great value for money. Came with a couple of friends. We had the lunch/ early evening menu. £15 for 2 course or £17.75 for 3 course. Well worth a visit.

Went as a group to celebrate a colleagues birthday some had never been there before and they were impressed with the look of the place and the food was lovely. We will all be back there again in June to celebrate another birthday.

Gutted. Used to love this place. First time back for a while at time of writing. Both my wife and I's burgers were burnt to cinders. The prices have gone up a lot too. Leaving this so hopefully they see this and something can be done to fix it. Otherwise I doubt I'll be coming back. Didn't complain on the day as wife doesn't like confrontation.
