Crafty Crow in Nottingham

Lovely sunny day and a great place to enjoy a pint near the supposed castle! We wanted to eat but the kitchen was closed so we went elsewhere after 1 drink

They has has everything you want in a proper pub—friendly staff, a great selection of beers, and delicious homemade food. The fish and chips were crispy and fresh, and the vibe was just right for a relaxed evening. Can’t wait to visit again!

This place has such a welcoming feel. Had the homemade shepherd’s pie, and it was rich and comforting. Perfect for a chilly evening with a good drink in hand!

Brilliant and friendly bar staff, great selection of 0% drinks, craft ales and largers as well as 2 for £12 on tasty cocktails all day everyday! Will definitely be returning

Not just a beer place—the cocktails here are excellent! Had an espresso martini that was smooth and well-balanced. The bartender was friendly and knew their stuff!

Best fish and chips I’ve had in ages! Perfectly crispy batter and fresh, flaky fish. The homemade tartar sauce was a nice touch. Great selection of beers too!

A hidden gem! The mulled cider was just what I needed on a chilly evening, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Perfect for a relaxed night out.

burgers are next level! Juicy, flavorful, and served with crispy fries. The bartender recommended a perfect IPA to go with it.

Really Great pub, in a superb location, with a really nice vibe. Given it is not stuck in the centre of Nottingham there is a nicer feel in the clientele. There is a lovely range of ales and lagers on tap, never really waited very long to get served, as well as a pool table with a darts board in the corner. There is lots of seating and the layout on both levels works really well. Worth a visit when the beer festival is nearby 👌

Stopped by for a Sunday roast, and it did not disappoint. Generous portions, tender meat, and rich gravy. Pair it with one of their local ales, and you’re in for a treat!

Stopped in for a quick drink and ended up staying longer than planned. The beer selection is spot on, and the loaded fries were seriously addictive. Great vibe too!

I feel awful for saying this because I know it's hard in the kitchen. But I was so disappointed in the food. We visited here last Friday night for dinner and the food was not good. I'll try to be constructive though. So I'm really sorry. The picture added is my garlic bread that waited almost an hour for. I could only take a couple bites before giving up because the bread was so hard to chew. I was disappointed because I've never been let down by garlic bread before. But this bread was over complicated and could have benefited from being a lot more simpler. It tasted like there were more ingredients other than garlic and butter, which in my opinion is unnecessary. I've never ordered a garlic bread and got something different before. I also ordered the steak sandwich which was also bad. The portion size was perfect but the steak inside was very chewy and cold! Colder than the bread and blue cheese? The salad inside the sandwich was very soggy and not fresh. I pulled it out and it had a snot-like texture. There was too much blue cheese in the sandwich (never thought I'd say that) and it overpowered all else, with no sweet or sour to cut the savoury. It was just a steak slathered in cold blue cheese.I could forgive this if it wasn't so expensive. I have paid less for food in Nottingham and received better quality. The kitchen might benefit from a simpler menu. The bar staff were very friendly and quick-paced but the environment lacks a coherent identity. I was there around 8PM on a Friday for a couple hours, all patrons were sat down and conversing (or trying to at least) with VERY loud techno/drum and bass. I don't mind this music at all, but it just felt awkward and out of place when everyone seemed to be from a more mature crowd that preferred to sit down. I'm really disappointed in this place as it is so perfectly located, it has so much potential, but it ultimately missed the mark from me. Sadly, I would not recommend visiting here unless it is convenient for you. I would love to return but unfortunately I don't think I will, unless I see some positive food reviews or something.

Didn't have food but the beer was lovely.

A nice pub situated on top of the hill outside the main gate of Nottingham Castle. I popped in just for a pint on one of the first sunny days of the year. It was lovely grabbing a table outside and people watching down Castle Road. I didn't too much choice for a real Ale drinker but there were a few craft IPAs on offer.

Visited my son at uni in Nottingham and thought we’d explore the Castle area. The Crow looks nice from the outside but there’s zero atmosphere once you’re inside! There was one bored-looking member of staff working on a laptop who made us feel it was a chore to serve us. We ordered a pint of Endless Summer that was cloudy and undrinkable, and a glass of Sauvignon that arrived in a dirty glass. The whole place just felt grubby. We decided not to stay and had a lovely evening at Fothergills just down the road.

I attend the open mic here some Wednesdays. The kitchen food is fantastic, Hayden is an incredible chef. Emma is a wonderful open mic host. It's just brilliant here.

Great pub with good atmosphere and beer selection. The only reason I'm marking it down 1 star is... why have a good selection of craft cans, but not have them visible to customers or have a list for us to pick from?

We ordered toasties and after an hour of waiting some toasties showed up, but the completely wrong order. The one burger that was ordered was burned to an absolute crisp. Don't normally post reviews but really wouldn't suggest eating here.

Decent beer and atmosphere on a Friday night. Not too busy and easy to find a quiet spot to chat with mates. The pool table was also well used by another group.

A lovely little gem of a place for afternoon coffee by the window....

Me and my daughter visited the crow on 27/11/24 the staff was very nice and polite and helpful. We came back later in the afternoon before we the gig we was going to. 10/10 and will be back again. Thank you

What a great place to go on a date we got greeted straight away by a lovely man called Hayden (head chef) he seems to be a hard working man who runs his kitchen and helps on front we will deffo be coming again !

Only marked atmosphere 3 as it was mid afternoon and only 4 people in there.

They have the best drip trays in the world and a great attitude for philanthropy. Overall spiffing vibes

It’s a very nice place. Very kind lady at the counter. I had the crow og hamburger it was delicious. My son enjoyed the chicken fingers and chips. And there were Lego’s for him. So in summary it’s a very nice place just outside the Nottingham Castle. Loved it.!!

Unfortunately when we went the server had no idea how to make the cocktails we ordered. Should have stuck to beer.

Crafty crow - cheeky prices. £6 for a pint of hand pumped ‘BG sips +1’ is not a normal Nottingham price. Other than that underhand rip off ( i.e price not listed on the screens above the bar) , not a bad place.

My stop for a quick pint on an evening dog walk. The staff are always lovely.

Excellent food, cocktails and service 👌🏼 We spent the day in Nottingham and decided to stop for food outside Nottingham castle. During our visit we were mostly served by Barnaby who provided outstanding service! There was a special offer on cocktails so we had a few each. They were customised to our liking, brought to our table and they were beautifully crafted. The burgers and crispy chips were amazing too!

Went on a Wednesday night, reasonably priced beer, dreadful music.

Food was lovely, however popped in for a relaxed lunch and spent the whole time listening to people blowing up balloons for a balloon arch (and the continuous popping of ballons) presume these were needed for s private event, however should have been done when the bar wasn't open or somewhere away from paying members of the public. The constant noise of what sounded like a hand dyer, accompanied by loading banging from balloons popping, made for an irritating lunch.

Top class bar in a prime location, with equally premium selection of craft ales and lagers. Service is top notch.

Decent pub. Well kept ales (3) and a box of real cyder as well as usual keg fayre. Pub is light and open and the light pub food menu is very reasonable for the size of the portions

Hadn't been in here for years until today & certainly changed for the better. Not really a place for a cheap drink but not going to hold that against them. Really amiable staff and customer base. Atmosphere relaxed. Good range of drinks & in my case the Guinness was good..

Very expensive drinks - over £13 for 2 g&t's - singles at that.....! Uncomfortable seating in the lower area & the place has weird acoustics which makes everything seem loud 🤔. Didn't like it

Pleasant & efficient bar-ladies in a busy town pub. The acoustics of the building are horrible & it's hard to hear your friends talking. £13 for 2 single g&ts. And bluebottles flying around everywhere-yuc! I killed 2 by our window table then there were at least half a dozen in the ladies loos. Probably won't go again even tho the refit is smart.

It's great to see the Crafty Crow back open and on last nights visit, doing so well. The location is fantastic, across from Nottingham Castle, and is well worth a visit when in the area Real ale, craft beers and excellent range of other drinks. Always loved this place, so please take time to visit

It's good to see it open again, went last Thursday night castle rock beer. Would be good to see brew York in there.

Excellent beer, food, atmosphere. Very spacious and airy, all staff wearing masks.

How they have 4.5 stars I'll never know. Beer is fine, wine is fine, lights are so bright, views of the castle are lovely. But the customer service is shocking - laughing and joking together behind the bar - rude answers to my questions. Such a shame, it could be so much nicer!!

I felt super covid safe as soon as i walked through the door. Everything possible is done to ensure minimum risk. The staff are super polite and the drinks menu is impressive! A great place to hang out - i would recommend.

No soy vegetariano / vegano y este lugar solo es vegetariano / vegano, así que entré sin saberlo.Dicho esto, toda la comida que mi esposa y yo pedimos estaba deliciosa, bien presentada y la recomendaría.El pub tiene una buena selección de cervezas adecuadas y admite perros.Siempre somos muy Covid: somos cautelosos cuando salimos y este lugar tenía todas las protecciones en su lugar mientras seguía siendo acogedor y un lugar agradable para estar.Definitivamente recomendado para un plato y una pinta.

Lovely friendly eclectic bar. Magie brewery ales amongst others. Great food very tasty never noticed it was vegan until after ordered and shouldn't have worried it was delicious. Beer selection was great with excellent range. Friendly welcoming bar staff. A must when in Nottingham.

Stopped by for a few drinks and a meal on our way to a gig at Rock City (about 15 mins walk away). Great selection of beers, a comfort food menu and comfy surroundings in a nice location opposite the castle.

Came here visiting Nottingham to see our son for the day. This is a really nice independent pub part of Magpie brewery (Notts County) good name.It is not particulary cheap but the service on a saturday lunchtime was excellent.My wife had an issue with her meal which went back to the kitchen but they just kept the fish warm so it was over cooked when it came back out.We had a complimentary glass of wine while we were waiting and the meal was refunded with no quibble so we will definitely go here again.

Stopped by after work for a quick evening snack and refreshment. Discovered there is a quality vegan menu - sampled the macaroni cheese which was excellent! Lovely relaxed and comfortable atmosphere with polite helpful staff.

Absolutely love this pub. Always come in when in Nottingham. Good choice of real ales if you want them. Staff always pleasant. Monday was the first time we had eaten here. The food was very good. I had a club sandwich and fries and hubby had pie and mash. They told us the food would take about twenty minutes which is fine as you know it's fresh. There was nothing at all to complain about. Will keep coming in here when in the area
