Pit and Pendulum in Nottingham

Great place to go in the evening for a drink! The music is diverse from goth/metal/alt. The decor is incredible and the booths are very dracula-esuqe. The food was also great and the drinks are moreish.

This pub in the Gothic/Punk/Hard Rock style is an absolute must for every visitor to Nottingham. The seating in the basement dungeons is great. And have fun looking for the toilets.

As alternative people my husband and I wanted to go somewhere we can dress up and be ourselves, this place did not disappoint. I love it! The signature drinks are amazing including the prices, you cant go wrong. Next time we come to Nottingham we will return

Easily one of the coolest bars I've ever been in! Staff are always friendly. Food is delish! Prices are alright, what you'd expect for a city centre bar. Decor is stunning. Would recommend if you're looking for an alt/metal bar!

Was very busy Saturday before xmas but still very good service and atmosphere

Still my favourite pub not just in Nottingham but anywhere. Not the cheapest but worth that little extra for the different surroundings, music and quirk. Is always fun watching people trying to locate the toilets

As a regular I’m used to the fantastic service that this place gives us. Today Billy has top this be giving me and my group a stunning service, such a wonderful and lovely person who puts a 10/10 effort into that he does. 100% would recommend to come here and would continue to do so

Went in at 4.30 on Saturday, was busy but just managed to get a seat. Took a long time to get served because it was busy, so used the app after and got served very quickly. Great atmosphere and music as usual, brilliant staff

A very interesting place, the decor is amazing and needs to be looked at as you sit and drink. Great music and staff are very helpful. I would warn people going that the toilets are well hidden!

Great pub, Billy La who runs the bar is amazing! Great music, atmosphere and good rock music, defo recommmend for anyone in notts after seeing a band!

I find it too dark in the day, but it's great at night. 🙂

This place was recommended by my sister for the atmosphere and the drinks. The decor and vibe were amazing but we were really let down by the service and the food. My friend has a peanut allergy so he asked about the allergens and the woman who served him was really impatient and rude to him. Just generally made him feel like he was an inconvenience. When the food finally arrived, it was cold. There was no bbq on my bbq burger and it was generally tasteless. The quality of the beef in our burgers was worrying too. I'd have been better off going to a mcdonalds. Nobody asked us if our food was okay and we were too hungry to track someone down to complain but we definitely won't be back.

Had a visit here, while up in Nottingham for the day. Definitely recommend. Bar staff Billy was wonderful and very polite Tanya was nice as well and polite. Definitely gonna be visiting here again

Simply the best. Best gothic atmosphere, fabulous great value burgers and lunchtime deals, but best of all a huge selection of cocktails including our two favourite creamy ones. All at great prices, and all accompanied by a great metal soundtrack (if you aren't a metalhead I'd suggest you may need earplugs!) Staff are always nice and friendly, service is quick, and you can order via an app. Brilliant.

Despite booking a table for my son’s 18, they refused to let us in because we had my daughter who doesn’t drink alcohol with us. We had travelled for over 40 miles to visit and won’t ever bother again. Quite a yob-ish crowd going in too so not as alternative as one would expect.

My boyfriend and I had a great night here last night, staff were friendly, the cocktails were really nice and great value for money. Will definitely be going again the next time we're in Nottingham

Good bar with good music, food and atmosphere

I went there on a Saturday and the music was NOT rock as I am expecting from Pit and Pendulum, it was pop classic radio from these times. Disappointed and not amused, left immediately.

Very nice place, different to other pubs, the staff are really warming & friendly, didn't eat thus time but will in the future, decent menu.

Not had the food but the cocktail are soo good and if your into gothic themed bars 🍻 this is the place 🖤

Great rock pub with interesting features

Billy was super friendly and welcoming we didn't know notts very well as we where visiting he took the time to make us feel welcome, also served a fantastic pint of Guinness! Bar was something else with the theme going strong billy was also happy to explain everything including the top secret toilet.

in the end, p&p is just a normal bar. it has normal drinks, and normal staff. what's special, is the theme. the cocktails are all named after sins and virtues. my personal favourite was lust. the whole place is almost medieval, with the booths being like little prison cells with torture devices on the walls. in the bathrooms, there's demonic noises playing constantly instead of music. overall, it's a very fun and niche place and i definitely recommend!

The seven deadly sins drinks were amazing!!!! Only disappointment was the fact that they had ran out of the cards and the shirts the day we were there to do the challenge, which we got done in less than an hour my fiance and I both did it! Lol but understandable it was a limited deal..... any how AMAZING atmosphere and staff!!!! Oh and Try finding the toilets..... all part of the adventure. But if you read up you'll figure it out! Love this place!! Definitely recommend!!

A very cool authentic, and very different to anywhere else in the city. The food was good and a very reasonable price. This place is definitely worth a visit.

This is a unique one, and I'm all for it! First pint in Nottingham and I was recommended to come here by a friend. The metal/pop gothic interior is good fun and some nods to Tim Burton never go a miss (Beetle juice), I only wish some local pints were available. Never the less I had a good experience here.

We came here on Halloween night and the bar was so busy but Billy still made jokes with us and made the experience even better

We didn't eat but called in for a few drinks after going to a Halloween market at Sneinton. Beer good, again, as always. Staff friendly & helpful as usual. Place was decorated up amazingly for Halloween, too.

Great bar and great deadly sins, were very nutritious and tasty. Brilliant atmosphere if youre into the alternative scene like me. Small mention for my goth/alternative acquaintance Lucy however, as she requested a song from beloved pop singer Charli XCX to no avail, maybe the jukebox needs to diversify!

It was halloween i down stairs in what i can only say is a dugen or cellar oneucaly female was so rude because i was qweing by a bar hatch she stood there mouthing off at me then a member of male staff who was dressed like wheres a wally he then said move as a manager for mitcheals and butlers who r a massive copanys i was so annoyed how they treated me ive been to this pub 2 and its my last the staff r so rude ir ruined my nite so went to the tap and tumble in the end the staff r rude

Really fun well themed place. Staff are friendly, the food is good and the atmosphere is fantastic. It doesn't matter of just after something different or really into spooky stuff its a great place to go

Great atmosphere and drinks, but ordered 3 starters and after 45 minutes and 15 minutes after my friends food arrived it still hasn't turned up. How long to put things in a fryer?

ordered cocktails on the app, when they arrived i went to get my id out of my bag but realised that i’d lost my purse with my id in it, the guy that served me is someone who had served me on multiple other occasions and had literally never id’d me or anyone that i was with before, i’m guessing that management had pulled him up on his previous unprofessionalism or something bc this time he was adamant that he saw my id, i knew i wouldn’t be able to get my drinks anymore which wasn’t an issue but i explained that i’d just realised that i’d lost my purse and was under the impression that i did have proof of my age when i placed the order but he took me up to the bar and started telling the other staff members that i had tried to get alcohol whilst knowing that i didn’t have my id. he kept tutting and rolling his eyes at me, was just being really passive aggressive, and also weirdly rude to my boyfriend who did show him his id. the other staff members were lovely and really understanding, however refused me a refund. was overall just a really unpleasant and unnecessarily hostile situation.

I got my ID taken which was very much real. The doorman Uv’d my ID then my friends and both were identical, yet I was turned away and my family and friends were not? Also taking pictures of me aswell, I’m not sure what’s the need to take pictures of me. Really not happy to be honest. First time going here to.

Been here many times and it's easily the best pub. The atmosphere is insane, music is always 10/10 and so is the service. Tanya was an amazing bartender and recommended the best drinks as well as being super friendly. Will be coming back asap!

Came in for food with my partner and mate before seeing lacuna coil. I was the peanut allergy who had the katsu chicken, my other half had the cheese and bacon burger with extra chicken burger and a side of waffle fries while my mate had the blue cheese burger. Didn't catch the bar man's name, but he was absolutely lovely and brilliant, super helpful going over my allergy and had a good laugh with. Food was amazing as always, wish I had taken photos but we were starving when we arrived so scoffed into our dinners before going to the concert. 10/10 recommend to those who want good food, and has a love for the spooky and alternative 🤘

Lovely place, kind staff, amazing inside, good food, creative and tasty drinks and much more. Also has a built in game for when youre drunk and need the bathroom. Only down side is the lock on the accessable bathroom wouldnt work last time i tried it. Im both neurodivergent and phisicaly dissabled and the staf were amazing about helping with things and just all around being amazing people.

Love coming in here with my girlfriend every chance we get. Great music, great atmosphere. Service is brilliant, and the cocktails are amazing, especially the envy. I haven't rated the food only because I haven't tried it but I was in on Friday and it smells amazing. Will be back again very soon for food and more cocktails.

The music is very much forbrock fans, hard and soft with some pop/rock like Avril Lavigne. We didn't eat last night, but I have eaten there multiple times with a friend or family member and the food is tasty and inexpensive. The staff are friendly. The toilets are okay with soap, toilet paper and most doors have locks. Would recommend.

There never seems to be quite enough bar staff on for the size of the place, but I can't blame them for the wait, they do a good job serving as quick as they can. The gothic decor, alternative music, and matching clientele feels like home to me!

Really good spooky vibe good music

We only had a few pints because the music was too loud and we had to leave. The atmosphere is very successful, like a horror movie. It's fine to have a nice time if you don't mind loud music. The bathrooms are hidden behind a wall that simulates a bookstore on the ground floor, in case you can't find them!

My new favourite place in Nottingham. I enjoyed watching people work out where the toilets were.

The toilets were awful, I'm a farmers son with a cast iron constitution but the gents were horrendously... ammonia chemical peel in lav. Disgusting tbf.

We went to eat at noon. Everything was very correct and was delicious. The atmosphere of the place is very cool, dark style. At night we went for a drink and both the ciders and the beers were very good. There was a DJ playing rock/metal music. The atmosphere was great.

Great music, great setting. The staff were polite and friendly. Can't wait to go again.

Any time I visit a new city, I look for quirky and funny names of bars. This popped up on Google Maps and I have got to say, this is an amazing place. It's gothic theme, the aptly named cocktails only just skirt the authenticity of the place. The downstairs area is brilliant. Hint****Good luck finding the toilets.*****

If you like obscure, rock, metal and everything along those lines, you'll like this. We spontaneously took a look. The pub is spread over two floors. The waiters were all really nice, the security also kept an eye on what was happening, inside and outside. The journey from Germany was worth it for that :D

I was in Nottingham and decided to trust Google to recommend a rock bar. For once it was right, really friendly staff and a jukebox with with good old school classics. Would definitely recommend

Just popped in for a quick drink. From Liverpool and 1st time in Nottingham. Amazing atmosphere and lovely staff. Me and the missus loved it. Can't imagine dealing with the bookcase to get to the loo when I've had a few though🤣

This is a really cool place to hang out. Food was delicious and the staff are really friendly and kind. Ryan who served me made me feel very welcome. It’s a really nice place for the alternative crowd. I will definitely be coming back.
