Very good pub grub and real ale selection in a friendly atmosphere. Recommended.

Food was great and arrived fairly quickly. The staff were lovely and friendly. It was a decent enough pub for a meet up and a couple of drinks highly recommended.

Excellent pub not far from the station, castle and walkable to the city centre and the football grounds. Decent selection of real ales available and really friendly staff. Highly recommended and intend to make a return visit next time I'm in Nottingham

Two x Sunday lunches roast chicken & beef £28:00 done to perfection & just enough, bit of stuffing with the roast chicken wouldn't go a miss, another round of drinks & slow walk home via The Park estate.

Lovely traditional pub next to the canal. Met my son for lunch, both loved it. Lovely food and friendly staff! Definitely our new meet up place whilst he’s at Uni

We popped into The Navigation for lunch while in Nottingham on our narrowboat. We were made welcome on arrival (with our two dogs) and we thought the pub was spacious with plenty of room for them to lie down. There was a fabulous choice of well kept ales on offer and we really enjoyed our lunches for £6 each which we thought was a bargain. I had fish, chips and mushy peas and my husband had pork and leek sausages with egg and chips. How lovely to have home cooked chips, it’s rare to find them when eating out nowadays. The food and ales were excellent, the staff were welcoming and friendly and we will definitely visit The Navigation again.

Good location, board games available. Lovely staff. Beef burger was dry and bland but the nachos were okay.

First visit. Really loved the relaxed atmosphere, the friendly staff and the delicious food, especially as there is plenty of choice for coeliacs. Much appreciated.

Gary's cocktails are a little different, but very tasty. Ask him for his special recipe.

Been here for lunch several times, it's always nice. Always with yummy chunky chips. Today I thought lets go and treat myself. Now I have to say I'm not a fan of burgers but I really liked the name of the big blue and as a lover of blue cheese I thought I'll have a go. Ohhh my, that was absolutely delicious!

Just had the chicken Sunday roast dinner for the first time, not the last, absolutely delicious. Never had a bad meal in here.

I always love coming to the Navigation whether its for food or a quick bottle of cider and a packet of peanuts. so today I went to the navigation and tried their Sunday dinner and my god it was worth it their Sunday dinners are the best its all freshly made I swear to god the chef must be Gordon Ramsey cause what I had today was top quality and well worth £14 if you want a great sunday roast made with passion then this is the place for it

Great place to watch the football, very accommodating with food, drinks, and facilities. Will go there again for sure: it should be popping for the Euro 2024 semi final tomorrow!

One of the best pubs on the canal. Cozy during the winter. In summertime offers nice spots right next to the castle lock to enjoy the sunshine and the canal. Wide offer of beers and board games available.

We had a fabulous afternoon here, the courtyard at the back is a real suntrap - intimate and really nicely decked out. The Sunday roast was verging on the best I've had out, I don't usually trust gravy or roast potatoes unless they're homemade but this dinner was smashing on every level. The owner was super friendly and we had the best time. They also do Tim Taylor's on draft and have an excellent crisp selection, what's not to like?

Went for Sunday lunch and had the Sunday roast dinner with my daughter. It was very nice and couldn't have eaten any thing else.

It's a pub with a nice atmosphere. There are various beers. The interior is calm and relaxing. There are various types of chairs. I never get tired of looking at plants, mirrors, chandeliers, etc.

Good selection of beer and very good burgers. Live music and a blues jam on Wednesday eve hosted by Nottinghams finest and possibly oldest bluesman, Colin Staples. All are welcome, come down and leave grinning. A traditional pub food menu and great Sunday roast. 5 handpumps of well kept beer from an ever changing list of breweries.

This is a locals pub situated on the canal with a real homely atmosphere. Not that crowded for Friday night and host very welcoming. Individual decor, but good. I ordered Lasagne and it was a good portion and extremely tasty. Came with garlic bread and salad. Lots of food being ordered. Local Nottingham ales and prices all round very reasonable. Under £30. Would recommend over trendy establishments further down canal.

Whenever we are I Nottingham we always visit this pub, the food is great, staff and patrons all friendly.

Cute independently run pub with amazing food, can recommend the coronation chicken sandwich and all the drink on tap tastes great. Great aesthetic too! Came in again recently and we were blown away by the food and the drink, so so much on offer on tap could spend all day there and then carefully stumble home after trying it all! And WOW the burgers were absolutely amazing and the value too!! We were stuffed after having our £10.50 burgers I wished I could have eaten another right after, I will be back! Staff are always friendly too.

Stopped in for a beer on the way home from town. Lovely staff and well kept beer. They have two beer garden areas, one overlooking the canal and the other at the back of the pub. Will be back to try food when the weather gets nicer!

We came here last Saturday for a drink and we enjoyed it. So today we went there again, this time to try the food. We ordered their burgers I have been sceptical of eating burgers from other places. But this place OMFG the burger that I had was amazing and was well worth the price as well also the chips I ordered were properly homemade and are better than the crap McCains chips you get from the chain pubs. If you love proper homemade chips and burgers then go to the navigation. its one of the best places that serve proper food

Great pub decent beer and friendly staff

Friendly staff greeted us and the dog with equal warmth. Clean and warm with a range of seating inside, and out. Food was freshly prepared and delicious main courses and deserts. I opted for one of their impressive range of hot chocolates and was very impressed. If we'd had more time we would have indulged in one of the board games available.

One of the best pubs in the city centre. Chilled atmosphere. Great selection of beers. Been one of my favourites for years.

Had a lovely Sunday roast beef at the Navagation Inn. Food was lovely and good quality. Thicker cuts of beef would have been preferred (as personal preference). Highly recommend the Stilton and bacon chips. Guinness was thin, not doubt to end of barrel, great service also.

Great dinner and cheap Monday drinks. Cask pints were at £3 a pint so we could try a few different flavours at a easy price. Dinner was very tasty as well couple of super stack burgers. Excellent friendly pub super food and great selection of beers by the canal.

What a super Restaurant, lovely atmosphere, super friendly Staff and the burgers were all absolutely delicious. Really good value too and a generous portion, we had onion rings to go with our burgers and they were really tasty 10/10 for everything.

Brother inlaw booked a table for lunch and a few pints in here before Forest Bournemouth game with family and friends. What a great little pub, ordered a dirty burger and fries,which for 10 quid was probably one of the best burgers I've eaten. Great portion sizes and great selection of craft beers and other drinks. Great atmosphere and staff very friendly and attentive. Would give 10 stars if I could. Definitely be returning.

I love this bar. We popped in off the train before my works Xmas party. Had a lovely drink and chat with (who I presume was) the owner. Definitely adding it to the list of must visit bars the next time we go drinking

Prices, food, beer and service are amazing

Not a bad pub. Reasonable prices, good service, authentic interior. Compared to Ukrainian pubs, the assortment of snacks is quite modest. In general, a very good place.

There was a good crowd of people at The Navigation but we were easily seated and enjoyed a reasonable selection of real ales and lagers. The staff were friendly and there was a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere about the place. I would definitely consider returning for another visit.

Another go to place for me since I found it less than a year ago. Again next to the canal ( tables running along side) plus a separate beer garden. Inside is clean, quite large. Didn't eat but the food looks good.

Visited again for Sunday dinners couldn't fault it, had roast beef was lovely nice mash veg and meat. Beer was nice we will be back :)

Friday lunchtime drinky, great little place with 2 outdoor areas, I like the one by the canal. Very good burger menu. My friend got lost on the way after her satnav went bonkers & the landlady sent the barman Ryan out to find her. Very sweet of them.

After living in Nottingham all my life I,m ashamed to say I’ve never been in this bar. It’s so nice inside and also in its outdoor area. The beer is great and also hosts a comedy night I will be returning very soon.

Had a lovely lunch sitting beside the canal only a short walk from the centre of the city. Good value for money and the chips were particularly tasty - proper home cooked chips rather the bland, dry version served in so many places.

Wednesday night, blues and soul, live music, a good night!

Usually pop in after the forest match but went in for a Sunday roast this week and wasn't disappointed. Food was lovely and drink up to scratch. Always a dark ale being served and kept just right. Landlord very friendly and Forest mad. Staff are always happy. Thanks for a good afternoon.😀.

Excellent home cooked lasagne, one veggie, one meat. With a really good side salad. Brought water for the dogs unsolicited and generally made us feel really welcome. Lovely canal side location.

I absolutely love this pub, the bartenders are genuinely nice people, the food is top quality, I highly recommend the vegetable chips and burger. I can't go in there and not enjoy the music, there are some top tunes at the Navigation and top people at the Navigation. Steve Cooper was seen there a couple weeks ago. This is certainly my go to pub lunch spot, on a hot summers day the canal spot couldn't be any better. Thank you for providing such an enjoyable experience.

It's years since I've been to this pub, wow, what a transformation. Visited tonight to try the chippy tea as advertised. Great vaulue for money and very tasty. My only gripe was that the chips were far too overcooked and crispy to the point there was very little potato left inside...I'm a big fan of a crispy chip but these were far too crispy. On to desert....homemade apple crumble which I chose as I only like it homemade. Very very disappointed with it, apple was non existent, the fruit was just a red goo and the topping was a dry mix of what seemed to be porridge oats mixed with flour. I'd 100% go back as the atmosphere is lovely, all the staff are extremely helpful, attentive and very friendly, oh and the drinks are great too. Check out a basic crumble mix and you won't disappoint 😀

I was exploring Nottingham and saw this place on google reviews as it was near to me visiting the oldest inn / castle area. Insanely good value food (£6 burger!), cool music, friendly staff, and a good beer selection of cask and draft. Can’t go wrong, especially in the heatwave at my time of writing this. 5*

Great place for a work lunch break. Food served quickly on the lunch menu. Portions could be bigger but ok for lunch.

A very cosy pub with a great selection of drinks and very kind friendly staff. I have been here a few times now over the years and it seems to get better everytime i visit. The outdoor seating is the perfect place to sit and relax with a drink and watch the boats go by and i eill definitely be back, i would also encourage everyone to try it out at some point.

Good quality beer selection. Dark and light ales available. For me shame there wasn't a strong ale. That said handy to have all ales in good keeping and sessionable. Sadly missed out on trying the food. Sure looks very tempting.

Honestly of the best pub food in Nottingham, beautiful seating outside by the lock amazing for summer evenings (watching canal boats coming through) and some very friendly staff. Can’t believe it’s not constantly heaving, one of the most underrated pubs out there.

Always nice to pop in for a couple when we're in town. Great range of ales on tap too.

Lovely pub. Went for a post team sport meal on a Monday evening. Lovely pint of Guinness. Efficient service and friendly team. Think the pub has been done up recently and looks absolutely spot on. Will be back soon for sure
